Developer Behaviour Interactive Inc.
Dead by Daylight is an online asymmetric multiplayer survival horror video game developed and published by Canadian studio Behaviour Interactive. It is a one-versus-four game in which one player takes on the role of a Killer and the other four play as Survivors; the Killer's objective is to hunt and impale the Survivors on sacrificial hooks to appease a malevolent beast known as the Entity, which manifests both in… From Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0)

Chases feel intense, you try little mind games, you barely make it through a window or drop a pallet at the last second… those moments are still great. Especially if you play with friends, it turns into pure chaos in a good way. But there’s definitely another side to it. Things are far from perfect. Sometimes the game can feel pretty unfair depending on the killer or perks. Matchmaking is also weird one match feels super easy, and the next one you get…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dead by Daylight is truly one of the most welcoming gaming experiences ever created. The developers listen to the community so much that every patch feels like a personal attack designed to test your mental stability. The balance is incredible! Every killer is overpowered until you play them yourself, and every survivor perk becomes useless the second you equip it. Perfectly fair. It's not because I'm bad at the game, definitely not. The matchmaking system deserves special praise too. I was…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ive spent exactly 4326 hours playing dbd on console, then switched to pc. experience wise i have been through different updates, events, map changes, and gameplay shifts over the years. i have played both killer and survivor a lot, and because of that, i have seen how the game has changed, both in good ways and in ways that have made it more frustrating to play. one of the biggest issues i have noticed over time is the hitboxes. they just do not feel right sometimes. there are so many moments…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its like being addicted to fetanyl but it doesnt kill you, so you keep consuming it until eventually you you go to rehab and end up resorting to league of legends. Its terminal
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the devs have no idea what are they doing to the game anymore, it's just complete chaos, death of skill expression and spit in the face for anyone who has spent thousands of hours mastering not only killer, but survivor too. It's such a shame that i can't play the game anymore. All of last patches have been nothing but disappointment.

unlabelledView post →Yes I have played DBD for 1800 hours. No I wouldn't recommend the game to a new player in it's current state. No I don't think the devs actually care about long term issues that destroy the health of the game. This game is like having an abusive relationship that keeps luring you back with promises and sweet words, and then beating you half to death a week later.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ruined their 10 year anniversary event by heavily reducing cake gain compared to previous years and introducing one of the worst event gamemodes ever seen
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is dreadful, at it's best. You wanna play killer role? May as well smash your testicles with a hammer, that'd probably be more fun. How about survivor? If you're solo, god rest your soul because these creatures will leave you hanging on the hook for the entire game while doing ♥♥♥♥ all. Ok... But the community is good right? ♥♥♥♥ NO. You'd find a better community in Philadelphia with the fent folders. Stay away, this is not satire.

unlabelledView post →If you want to feel like you're in an abusive relationship, this is the game for you. Nothing but broken promises from the new dev team. It hasn't been the same since 2020. Bugs and glitches are so common that people just play around them. Loved the game when I first started, but pulled away from it when I realized that BHVR doesn't care about its community.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No clue what happened over the last 2 Months, but this Game, as a Casual, is unplayable now. Might just be bad luck but I always load into bully squads as Killer ( local survivor main here ) and its just not fun to get flashlit, teabagged and when you finally get someone, the hook gets sabotaged. Maybe an actual rank system could fix this, and not make every game either feel like a nice walk in the park, or like you've been constipated for 50 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ years. ( It's much better as a Survivor,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is a competitive crying simulator where both sides are convinced the other is too overpowered. somehow every match ends with someone writing an essay in endgame chat about why u ruined their life. pretty fun game :3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It gets fun when you understand the game better, so after like 5k hours
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Never solo queue. Never. You want gens done? Do it yourself. Teammates are no longer considered human beings, they're genetically modified organisms experimented on by the entity itself to help the killers. Wanna get unhooked? Run a full unhook build because you know no one is coming to save you. If you download this you may be dead by daylight in real life after your brain implodes from how unfathomably terrible survivors are.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →NOT RECOMMENDED. I installed this game because I like horror. I kept it because I clearly don't recognize toxic relationships. Dead by Daylight is not a game. It's an emotional rollercoaster operated by four strangers who are either masterminds (lol) or actual NPCs - and a killer who seems personally offended by my existence. As Survivor: I sneak. I repair generators. I hit most skill checks. For a brief, beautiful moment I feel competent. Then I get tunneled. I get slugged.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you're reading this in 2026 and wondering if you should buy this game or get into it, don't. The state of the game right now is absolutely abysmal. I truly believe that at this point, the game needs to be sold to a team who genuinely cares about it. Not the people who currently own it. They'll add new killers who are extremely op, only to nerf them into being unusable. The survivor perks that look so promising, also become a big fat pile of garbage after people whine and complain. (This…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At the time of writing this, I have about 800 hours (PC + Playstation). The only reason why I am giving this game a recommendation is because this is the most sadistic, mind-boggling game that will have you playing it like a really bad drug addiction. Everyone is bad at this game, you can have 10k+ hours on this game and you are still bad. it is unbelievable what you will see in this game, whether it be gameplay, teammates, or people running meta builds terrorizing killers. You REALLY don't…

unlabelledView post →Why am I constantly being thrown against high-level players who have been playing since release? Where is the skill-based matchmaking? As a newer player, I am not learning anything I am just being used as free kills for experienced survivors and killers. Even bot matches are pointless because there is no proper progression or meaningful way to level up. It honestly feels like new players are not welcome in this game. You cannot expect people to stay when every match feels like an unfair…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DBD is insufferable on many levels, at least in its current state. I mean i do have lots of joyful memories from playing it and even made lots of friends on it, but now i cant even launch it because EAC doesnt wanna initialize apparently? i tried most "solutions" (from reinstalling, verifying files, restarting PC/steam to other more detailed processes) that i found from forums and threads online, but nothing helps. also BHVR takes excruciatingly long to even respond to tickets, so dont bother.…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dear Behavior, this game can be described in one word: torture. The game itself has a very particular intrinsic characteristic, it's a living paradox. The killers are good and pitiful, the survivors are evil descended on Earth, they are Satan's angels personified, descended to poison the blood of the unfortunates who dare to have fun playing as killers. I appeal to you, Behavior. Play your game as a killer and then tell me exactly how you feel, psychologically and physically, right after…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dead by daylight is the BEST welcoming game to play!! The devs love listening to the community so much it makes you wonder how they possibly do such a good job at personally attacking ur mental stability every patch! The turtorial is just amazing at teaching new players the ropes with the 42 killers and the 173 unique survivor perks and 145 killer perks AND it only requires you to purchase $300 worth of dlcs to unlock, how thoughful behaviour! The turtorial is just so good they immediately…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →440 hours in Dead by Daylight and I can safely say: I am not good at this game. And yet, it is my favorite game of all time. Playing Survivor is an unpaid internship in suffering. You load in, touch a gen for 3 seconds, hear a terror radius, and suddenly you’re in a chase you did not consent to. And the funniest part? If I don’t play for 1–2 days, I forget EVERYTHING. Tiles I knew? Gone. Mindgames I learned? Deleted. Muscle memory? On vacation. I’m never consistently good. Some matches I…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →500 hours played. This game is absolute garbage. No balance, devs don’t care. Not recommended. Anyway, here we go again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dead by Daylight is not an easy or beginner-friendly game by any means. The biggest flaw? It desperately needs an updated tutorial and practice mode. New players have no way to rehearse basic skills like flashlight saves, flash bangs, loops, or facing specific killers. In custom matches, you can only fight bot survivors as killer—never the other way around. I’ve introduced this game to several friends; 90% quit within their first week. The learning curve is brutal and full of odd mechanics…

Sure, you don't see absolutely everything in that time, but you do see the core game – and the core just doesn't suit me. The gameplay is too repetitive: all you do is run away from the killer or repair generators. On top of that, the community is extremely toxic and not beginner-friendly. Please don't take it personally, it's just a matter of taste. Save your money and time – I'm dropping this game for good.
