60 of 72 · most liked firstThis game is an interesting one in the series. Not only does it depart from the typical Agarest SRPG formula we know, but it also has a slightly different way of handling the OTHER reason we play (or maybe just I play) an Agarest game: romancing the girls. ----Pros---- -Interesting battle system with field resistances/weaknesses -Job system encourages exploration in different party configs and offers high replayability -The girls are cute af and romancing them is quite fun -The visuals, while…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Heavy difficulty curve (just start on easy) while in itself not a bad thing, is compounded by mistranslated skills that are either contrary to their effect or just confusing leading to using magic skills that are instead physical that may or may not be single target or inflict any status effects. this leads to a very frustrating game to play, but it is a somewhat fun rpg when you figure out what things do. i can not recommend anybody buy this game without first knowing how badly translated it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →seems much more grndy than the other ones, and combat is a regular turnbased RPG instead of the turn based strategy of the others. also difficulty, even on normal seems high. will probably update when i beat the game. Edit: A very positive VS other games of series: the conversations differ depending on first wife AND gender of second hero. as well as story scenes. a very negitive VS other games of series: game difficulty spikes almost randomly. some common foes going from one area to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is probably on a list of some of the worst RPG games I've played. some of the reasons being are. - The INN, You need 40 gold each time you go to the INN, not bad in itself being only 40 unless you consider the fact that most the starting area battles will give you that much as a reward for each fight, but when you have to RE-ENTER the INN every time you have a character event, and next thing you know you just easily blew more than 1k on stuff you could have used for skills items etc by…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are two voices within me: the queer and the feminist. One enjoys anime tiddies as well as the next person, while the other realizes that games like these perpetuate the idea that women’s bodies are a commodity sold for cis/hetero male consumption. But that’s not why I’m giving it a negative review. I knew what this was. We all knew what this game was. It’s a game by Compile Heart and Idea Factory; if it didn’t have anime tiddies, I’d be shocked. Why I Don’t Recommend It • Let’s start…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lulled by the beautiful followers at his side, the divine blade in his hand, and the promise of eternal greatness nestled firmly in the vacuum of his head, the young doofus and a wanna-be hero Rain makes a critical mistake and gets involved in the generations’ long curse… all of this because he wanted to get married. Soon Rain and his child learn that having a happy marital life in Agarest is the worst possible fate one can deserve. And we as players get to experience this underwhelming story…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have spent almost four hours playing this game and that will be enough for a lifetime. In the past I have played at least a hundred hours of Agarest: Generations of War and that was a huge waste of time and I never even completed it. Years later this game comes out, advertises itself as being "different" but they somehow made this series even worse, and thanks to someones bright idea of making it a mobile port, it looks like oversimplified low quality rushed garbage. It's also quite creepy…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Record of Agarest War Mariage is a port of the Japan-only PSP game of the same name. And it is a very good one! I didn't find any bugs or glitches, my controller was working fine as well. Unlike the other Agarest games, this one is more of a classic JRPG, not a SRPG. It took me about 45 hours to complete on easy difficulty, and it has a lot of replay value. You play over two generations of heroes, and you get little flash-backs that vary depending on your (chosen) gender and who your first…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cash grab. Terrible low quality game in all aspects, sound, design, graphics and gameplay. It has NOTHING to do in respect of the previous Agarest (well, except for the the daiting and waifus extra stuff). I don't get how people will still support this types of games that just pretend to slap the name of a Franchise in a lazy attempt to get people to buy it. Even as a "sexualt content" game it's fails miserable. And don't get me started on Art design that feels rushed at best and the boring…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While I personally enjoyed my time with the game, and am happy to finally play it after waiting 7 years from it's original release, the game is much too grindy to recommend this title.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Story: 8/10 CG: 7/10 Graphic: 3/10, remind me of the time i still play with my PS1 games. Gameplay: 0/10, way too much grinding to even enjoy the game. Don't buy this unless you're a die hard fan of the series or you have a massive amount of time to kill.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like touching anime girls and menuing in a jrpg, this is for you story is 6/10 kinda interesting gameplay is every turn based jrpg but the fan service is 11/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stupid Difficult enemy spike , you defeat ordinary enemies with regular attack but when boss fight , it can kill you with AOE attack and regenerate its HP above your attack point damage. Healing party like ♥♥♥♥ only heal 25% HP 1 char. Every time my char attacks boss, that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ boss will get its turn after my char attack it even not its turn next. (except for attacking with your GP). Item shop didn't show who can wear the armor. Second worst JRPG game i have played after Dark Rose Valkyrie…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short in content when compared to other Agarest installements but very solid. A decent amount of gameplay but also filled with a lot of depth to the story. Unlike the other games, which had generic lines for each generation, dialogues change depending on who you marry. Overall not the best Agarest game but acceptable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It would be a fun game if it would play and not crash every five minutes
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is soo bad. It hooks you in with progressively better looking artwork then *BAM* GRINDING harder than a weeb with a Bodypillow.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →(First impressions) Saw this on sale so thought why not? Had a couple crashes, but that is to be expected from a day one purchase. As for the combat, nothing to write home about to be honest. (Characters) Well, the MC is your typical wet noodle protagonist. (Especially around the support cast.) As for the support cast, a decent first impression. Definitely reminds me of a PS2 - PS3 era game, which isn't a bad thing. Might update once 100% status is acquired. But for now, would I recommend?…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game play is a vast improvement from Agarest 2 but I still just cannot get into the play style, The story line feel forced at the very beginning which make it a struggle to continue. I would recommend this game only if on sale and even then only if you are a fan of the Agarest series.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would highly recommend this game if you have Art Money or some other way to freeze the party HP during boss battles. Or if you are a masochist. Since most players don't fit into either of those categories, save yourself a headache. I thought the others might exaggerating about the difficulty of boss battles, but they are not. One of the early bosses does such massive AOE damage that I had 3 party members healing. The other was doing 700-900 damage to the boss per turn. The boss…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →About 9 hours into the game it's clear the both the gameplay and the story are far weaker than the main series of Agarest. An okay game for fans of the franchise and a weak game for regular JRPG fans. Additional minus points for the cringy romance and shallow characters.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →pros : anime grill showing some fanservice cons : difficulty spikes, too grindy, but more importantly battle animation seems too flat (at least make its very unique when they do link attack)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Editors, Translators someone from your team needs to be paid more! I have just started and there are already so many grammar problems, otherwise it has an interesting party system and I'm having fun with it. But if you could fix the text problems it would be so much better.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have to write something, can't just leave a thumbs down. It's fugly and the storyline is bad.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played the game for about 4 hours and can say that its an alright RPG. I haven't had any performance issues so far and no fps drops or screen tearing. Was a ittle hesitant that this game wasn't ported by Ghostlight. Most of the games that I've played by them have had great ports like Mary Skelter. The element and terrain mechanics make gameplay more interesting instead of just mindless skill spamming until the boss is dead. Overall good game if your'e looking for a lighthearted RPG to play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do not bother with this game, will randomly freeze and stop working. Like many other games over the years this is yet another game converted from console to PC that has not been tested and fixed if problems exist.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a lot of fun with some spicy moments. It could be my (lack of) skills but this game difficulty really spikes for the bosses so I had to grind and experiment with the job and skill systems. A very straightforward RPG with turn-based battles and great music.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing art by Blade and great voice acting make this game an enjoyable experience. Just forget about difficulties above "easy" until New Game+ Record of Agarest War Mariage got grinding, strategic turn-based battles and ecchi scenes in HD - for your enjoyment. So happy to see this game in english, on Steam and uncensored too~ But the gameplay is different from other Agarests, still: I recommend this game for any Man(or Woman) of Culture.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Annoying, poorly balanced 'gameplay' revolving around hours of grind and annoying boss fights with difficulty spikes that are more like mountains.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have played all of the Agarest games and loved most of them. Except Agarest 2 but still overall worth playing since I am a huge fan of the series. This game however, is borderline horrible and not fun to play. I don't mind the agarest grind, but the boss spike in difficulty is a joke. I was really hoping for a game close to Agarest Zero but this is so far from it. Everything is a grind and not a fun one. Everything in the game vs other titles in the series is dumbed down. Generic skills,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →We'll mostly ignore the art style since art style is more subjective, but it is definitely a huge change from previous Agarest War games. If you are on the steam deck, do be aware that you have to turn off steam input to avoid a bug that will disable your controls, potentially forcing you to have to close the game and have to restart from your last save. For fans of the previous Agarest War games, this is barely an Agarest War game. It is an RPG with multiple generations (2 generations that I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is not fun at all...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun enough but I can't recommend to anyone else. This game has some of the most unbalanced boss fights I've ever seen. My god those AOE magic nukes.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game isnt worth its money, maybe if you want to beat your meat but there are clearly better alternatives. Clearly Obvious Fanservice JRPG but most characters are unlikable and flat character wise from the girls you can choose. When it comes to the terms of being an RPG it clearly fails isnt fun and gets way to grindy fast. This game really would benefit of just being a Visual Novel but otherwise just no ... All in all it reflects really badly on the agarest franchise and feels very lazy…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Leaving a like as i did enjoyed it and wanted more. Played on Hard difficult and had my second playthou mid-way due to wrong choices but it was easier on my second run as mechanics became second nature. Second half of the game was easier till last boss. First half of the story did leaved an impact thou. Remember it was an old PSP game ported to PC that the drawings might not stand out to well on big screen. Only problem i would point was the game is pretty tough till you get your first…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an interesting SRPG set in the Agarest universe. Thing is, I'm not sure how it ties into the other games... Anyway, you start as Rain, wielder of the Ciel blade, who has three maiden companions, as fated by the laws of the series... You fight monsters and raise affection with those three... and eventually choose one to produce an heir who may be the one who defeats the Archdemon. Decent game, and a worthy Agarest title. Will take some time to complete, however.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →why it feels like a loli game than a record of agarest war come on why why ruin this series why yall turned this great series into a kid playground and ruined it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →not my type of game, didn't grow up with PSP games, art is nice though.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Record of Agarest War Mariage is a distinctive and somewhat polarizing spin-off within the broader Agarest franchise, developed by Idea Factory in collaboration with Preapp Partners and published on PC by Idea Factory International, Inc. Unlike the mainline Agarest titles, which are known for their slow, grid-based tactical combat, Mariage shifts its focus toward a more traditional turn-based JRPG structure while retaining the series’ signature obsession with generational legacy, romance, and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Generational Tale of Love and Battle Record of Agarest War Mariage offers a unique blend of turn-based RPG combat, generational storytelling, and light dating-sim elements that fans of the series—and newcomers—will find engaging. While it may not reinvent the wheel, it delivers a charming, content-rich experience with plenty of depth and replayability. Story & Characters The game follows Rain, the latest in a line of heroes destined to wield the legendary Ciel Blade and defeat the Archdemon.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i dont know why so many guys gave this a thumbs down and it says mixed because i think it is a really good game. maybe the game was too hard for them so there mad. it is from idea factory who are the same guys that invented hyperdimension neptunia. the story is really good and the characters are very rememorable. my favorite girl in the game was cupra and i wish it had more stuff of her in it. there are a few cons to this game though like you can only move around in lines and not where ever…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Highly recommend, great rpg and fun waifu!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →BORING: COMBAT/STORY/SLOW GAMEPLAY/GRIND HEAVY. Graphics are also worse then its previous games. Couldnt bring myself to continue playing it (My playtime in this game came mainly from idling for the cards).
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I used to play this game on PSP. I just buy for some "LEWD" event CG in higher resolution. ** Additional ** DO NOT BUY DELUXE BECAUSE OST DOES NOT CONTAIN OPENING THEME SONG
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played the original PSP version and it's fun, and the graphics look properly upgraded or remastered from the source instead of just run through a filter. Unfortunately this port has some serious issues. Wait till they're fixed. UPDATE (02/06/19): The primary issue has been fixed. New Game is still the default mention selection, but it's ultimately a minor issue. The most serious is that buffs (e.g., Atk Up) crash the game. Given the game is impossible on normal or harder without them or…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Generations rise Love shapes the warrior's fate Legacies endure
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Easy enough turn based combat. Likable characters. Romance options.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finished Record of Agarest War Mariage. I'm not super fond of it. I think it's definitely the weakest in the series, and the final boss was super annoying. One thing I really like about it is that you can have a girl as the second generation hero, which is really cool!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The battle system itself is okay but boss battles are too difficult. Even on easy mode, it is impossible to proceed without tedious grinding.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →1080p hard baked max resolution.enough said.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →soo.. now i understand why this game have "marriage" in the title '__') spoiler: skills and items inherited by the children, so before ending chapter 1 make sure complete all quest first or you'll miss it forever
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think I paid three bucks for a steam key of this game. I want my three bucks back.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →what is this? what kind of game is this ? there should be a third game of agarest instead of this and it is true agarest 2 gameplay wasn’t very enjoyable for me but at least the events are fun. more fun than this game. daddy chaos is pure. beautiful. so much left unsaid about his past. and there are some characters were mentioned in the series and never appeared in game. Leina from agarest 2 and Varna The light goddess who Lenion and Chaos both yearn for. this is unforgivable this is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Such a strong departure from the series, the art and gameplay was like whiplash, theres no real settling in to how it plays.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its okay, but not as good as the previous games. it has a totally different combat system then the previous games and it was far shorter + you couldent make any decisions. but overal it okay. Buy if you like the series.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →- So fun to play, rating 94/100
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A simplistic RPG, 1st gen visuals. It's pervy tone and polyamourous theme is bland to say the least.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I pushed the circle button for 40 minutes, I skipped the story, then I died in a cavern to discover that I didn't save the game, damn. The game must have been cool, twenty years ago.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed the dungeon play alot. The story is amusing.
