It feels respectful and proud of its roots, which is rare to see. Combat is fast and fun, and the skill trees give you enough variety to keep things interesting without overcomplicating it. On top of that, the world just looks gorgeous. Raji is a great mix of culture, storytelling, and solid gameplay. Played it on a handheld and had a blast playing…

I didn't know much about Indian mythology but I loved learning about it through the game. The artistic direction, atmosphere and storytelling make it stand out. The game was a really nice surprise for me. 🎚️ Difficulty 🔲 My grandmother could play it 🔲 Easy ☑️ Normal 🔲 Hard 🔲 A challenge to be reckoned 🔲 In the heat of confrontation, (Only…

unlabelledView post →I am writing this review from 2 perspectives, one as a proud Indian 🇮🇳 and the other as an average gamer. Raji: An Ancient Epic will forever be a milestone in Indian gaming industry. I've heard the stories the studio had to go through for a decade make this game possible. And in the end, (this is personal but) we get one of the best modern day media representations of hindu mythology. We come from a country where representation of our own culture is met with very harse criticisms and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →controls so ass, ruined the whole experience of this game ffs, get this if you enjoy 5 mins of beautiful graphics along with 9 hours of constantly fighting with controls.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ubisoft sucks. If any of you are still craving an experience very similar to Prince Of Persia, I suggest checking out Raji: An Ancient Epic. Combat and traversal feel very similar to the Sands trilogy of the games. You will feel right at home on that front.
unlabelledView post →I wish there was a Raji sequel where she kills Mahabalasura and brings Bhoomi Devi back to life or at least avenges her. It's really good given the depiction of Hindu culture. My only complaint is that we needed more types of common enemies and at least 2 or 3 more bosses
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One that took very direct inspiration from the Sands trilogy is Raji: An Ancient Epic. Combat and traversal feel very similar from what I remember from playing this a few years back. There's now a remastered version with improved graphics and I think the devs are working on a sequel.
unlabelledView post →I only judge games I've beaten. Borderlands was the worst game I ever beat. It was just a shooting gallery with no deeper gameplay. Raji: An Ancient Epic was unfinished. Traversal and combat were unrelated, making it two half games stapled together. Little Bug was just frustrating. No fun.

unlabelledView post →⭐ Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5) 🎮 Played with a controller Except Final Boss( Mahabalasur ) Fight Review: Raji: An Ancient Epic is an amazing game that blends Indian mythology with beautiful visuals and a unique setting. The gameplay is solid, and the puzzles are genuinely fun and well-designed — probably one of the highlights for me. The combat is okay — not the best, but it works. The graphics are great, and the overall art style gives the game a distinct charm. However, there are a few bugs…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Raji is a good game, but not the best. I really like that Indian developers are making PC games and not jumping straight into creating AAA titles. They started with a passionate project and did really well in many areas. However, when it comes to controls and combat, things fall apart. I struggled with the controls the entire time. The i-frames were very inconsistent, and the combat felt clunky. The game launched in 2020, so the developers have had around 5 years to improve the controls and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The first Raji game is AWESOME. So psyched to see this team still cooking up kickass action and puzzles steeped in Hindu mythology

unlabelledView post →Game is fun. It is viewed from isometric perspective like OG God of War games. It has platforming inspired from Prince of Persia Sands of Time games. Its combat is similar to OG God of War games. I listened to both English and Hindi voice acting, they are seriously good. Story is good not great. Art is great. Music is good for combat but exploration music is just repeating short music which I didn't like much. Every level looks gorgeous. Levels are needlessly large which makes exploring them…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its a great game with an interesting storyline. I personally bought it because the part 2 is coming up. And yes I loved it. The story and visuals are good, Pacing is excellent aswell.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My country has so much interesting lore to offer the world, im so glad that Indian devs are finally stepping up to the task. Excited to see how Raji's devs shape the world building and evolve over time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The only game I find with best hindi language support and also story and gameplay is very engaging
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short and sweet, fun for an adventure game (which I usually don’t play). I absolutely loved the storyline, it was simple and straight to the point, but also felt mythic at the same time. It didn’t need novel-quality writing: it was a story about a sister trying to be reunited with her brother, with fate throwing a wrench in that throughout the whole series (it’s an adventure game, not an RPG, after all). The synopses of Hindu myths were actually really fascinating, and I never found myself so…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a must-play game. The Indian cultural elements and the portrayal of Hindu gods are done really well. The visuals look great, and even though the story is linear, it’s still strong. Raji’s journey to find her brother is handled beautifully. Hats off to the developers. We need more made-in-India games like this. I’m waiting for the sequel.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Graphics, music, and story telling is pretty good. My only nitpick is the combat felt slow/sluggish. Played the entire game with the controller except for the final boss. Playing with the controller with the final boss felt extremely difficult, so I was forced to switch to mouse and keyboard for that fight only and suddenly the final boss was playable/beatable. Overall its a fine game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After playing it for hours, it feels like I played through a beautiful piece of art inspired by our very own Indian Mythology. The visuals and atmosphere were amazing, even though the combat got bit hard at boss fights (which I really loved) but I hope we get more games like this in future.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game number 2 of 2026 completed. Raji: An Ancient Epic is a pretty cool game. Lots of interesting mythology wrapped into an adventure game. Some technical aspects hinder the gameplay but overall it’s a solid game. I give it a 7.5 and look forward to playing the upcoming sequel
unlabelledView post →This was a very good game honestly. I had no expectations as such but during the playtime I was seriously amazed that how beautiful this game looked and how amazing gameplay it offered despite having 2.5D environment. Love this game 💓

unlabelledView post →Absolutely mind blowing game from Nodding Heads. The way they depicted the Indian and Balinese mythology with Pahadi-inspired art style is so damn good. The visuals are stunning with the references to the Indian Gods and their story. The combat is good, the abilities we can assign, everything was worth it. The story evolves through the narration by both Indian Mytholigical God Vishnu and Goddess Durga. Peak Indie game everyone should play. Highly Recommended! Waiting for Raji : Kaliyuga :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Raji: An Ancient Epic is a game set in ancient India. The story is very simple: we set out to rescue our brother. And, frankly, there’s not much more to it than that. Perhaps it’s my lack of knowledge about Indian culture, but I don’t find this game satisfying. The levels feel more like a monotonous trek along a linear path, with a few breaks for combat. The combat style itself has potential, but the most effective strategy is to spam the same attack over and over. Boss fights offer a nice…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you are fond of mythological games and are familiar with Hindu mythology, this is absoloutely the game for you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Didnt expected indie game to be good great start
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked this game but I have some criticisms: the controls can be wonky. The last boss is VERY difficult with a controller. Works okay on Steam Deck.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Be careful, it is an indie game far from perfect (I got stuck enemies and some boss fights can be *very* frustrating) but the environment and creature design is fantastic. I would love to see more game based on Hindu mythology and I am curious about the sequel.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game shows so much potential! The visuals and story were fantastic and I really loved the environments too. The platforming was fun and was very reminiscent of the original Prince of Persia games. That being said, I do feel that there are a lot of unpolished aspects to the game such as the combat, the build customization interface, and the camera framing/perspective. They weren't necessarily bad but definitely could do with a bit more refining. Overall I am genuinely happy to have…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The devs didn't play test the final boss on the hardest difficulty. Edit: I finally beat it on hard through sheer will power! If the devs ever see this, I will change this review to positive if you upload youtube video of you beating the boss on the hard difficulty.

unlabelledView post →The only con I felt for the game were the language bits, hindi audio with nuanced voice acting( which was added later on) , while the gods sounded great in english, rest? not so much. Combat was just okay but for an indie title it was great and I stoked for Kaliyuga.

The fact that it was created by an Indian indie studio, Nodding Heads, makes it even more special. The art design and music are fantastic, and the Hindi voice acting makes the experience feel incredibly personal. It’s a relaxing 6 hour journey that proves you don’t need a massive budget to create something memorable. Huge respect to the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a blast for anybody of Indian Origin who wants to play a game set in the rich, vibrant culture and mythology of our homeland. For others... unless you're into mythology or have an open mind, you might find the controls too clunky and frustrating to enjoy the storytelling and game design. Honestly, coming from a country where parents would rather burn down their homes than buy their kids a videogame because god forbid they become too addicted and neglect their studies and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No one should have told indies they should make horror game :( Highlights for me (the end was definitely stronger) - Entropy - Ballgame - Sonzai - Well Dweller R.override might be interesting but they showed nothing. Raji 2 is impressive, but it seems to be going for AAA games tropes.
