There have been at least 20 odd games since Railroad Tycoon 3(2003) and there has been effectively little to no advancement game mechanic wise.

While I'm playing #RailroadTycoon3, I'm sitting here, optimising routes for cost, and speed - particularly by doing that trade off between distance, windiness and elevation changes. The disturbing realisation is that I think I might be doing something akin to Civil Engineering :s #TycoonGames #Videogames

And I also love the sweet ambience sounds of the trains, stations, people, industries or money going “ka-ching” every time you get money from the passengers on board the train.

unlabelledView post →The thing about #RailroadTycoon3 is it's a game, maybe? It's really a giant economic and logistics engine with game bits bolted on. Honestly, the economy does a lot before you even get involved. #Games #RailroadTycoon
