I had no idea how I was going to get through life. Enter, Putt-Putt Travels Through Time. This game had single handedly shown me the meaning of life and happiness. Putt-Putt's innocent demeanor really taught me the complexities of humanity, and what must be done for the greater good. Simple kindness and excitement for the new dawn was really inspiring, and I saw a…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game's decent if i'm being honest EDIT: I've put in a few more hours since the last review, and I now believe it needs a review update to properly do it justice. This game has grown on me, to the point where I play it daily. It always makes my day to click on something in the game and have it play a happy animation. My favorites are the bird in the bush behind Mr. Firebird's workshop, the two monkeys behind the curtain in Putt-Putt's house (I always say hello to them at the start of a game),…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Harder than Sekiro and Dark Souls 3. They need to add a cinematic mode so most people can even complete the game. The learning curve is so sharp i dont know how some people even get past the tutorial. A blast form the past but a challenging one at that.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Putt Putt ruined the time continuum, causing millions of paradoxes to form across time in an instant. Millions of lives were lost, and Putt Putt's very existence was scattered across time. Quite an intriguing ending for a kids game, definitely wondering if they'll ever be able to make a sequel.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A game that transcends the confines of space and time, something so beautiful and immaculate that it washes our unworthy eyes and ears with gorgeous tranquility and a safe feeling that we've yearned for ever since that girl broke our heart and crushed our spirit shortly after high school. This is the way games are meant to be designed, the way it was meant to be experienced. Everyone needs to play this game because of the fantastic impact it will leave on generations to come. Move over Witcher…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I remember playing this game when was a little kid so this game is childhood nostalgia. Note: if you want to play this game on the Steam Deck, use the community layout for it. Edit: I couldn't figure out controls for the Steam Deck so I had to buy on the Switch. I would get it on Switch instead if you want to play it on the go the controls are better.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I used to play this as a kid on CD rom, so when I found out it was on Steam, I got really excited! It is so much fun, even now.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My introduction to gaming, and I still haven't finished it I was just a kid when I discovered the beauty of the puttputt series. It's ahead of it's time. Puttputt truly is a non-binairy icon. Just like Freddy FIsh. Freddy is a girl, did you know? We assume everything is male because we live in a patriarchal society. Think about it. Be better. Anyways. What is time? Can a car truly travel through it. It's a common fantasy. The part where puttputt scratches the dinosaur was my first…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You can hear it in his voice. Putt-Putt is on the verge, hanging on by a thread. He can't take much more of these "adventures". His vacant, unfocused stare bores through anybody who tries to interact with him. His smile is forced. Only his closest companion, Pep, is keeping him grounded, the one point of light in all of the darkness... until it's snatched away. Putt-Putt has to put all of his fears and doubts aside, overcome the monsters in his heart and save the one thing he values most in…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Putt-Putt Travels Through Time is a wonderful treat for children! In his biggest adventure, Putt-Putt must search for all of his school supplies and Pep after they get sucked into Mr. Firebird's new time machine! There are four different eras to explore: the Age of the Dinosaurs, the Medieval Times, the Old West, and the Future! Each item is hidden somewhere in each of those eras, but players should keep in mind that more than one item will never be seen in the same era. If you are a parent of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →best slow burning genre defining game ever!!! i love the little purple car!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Growing up, this game was the peak of Humongous Entertainment for me. The sheer anticipation of coming home everyday after school and hoping on my parents computer to save Pep for the fiftieth time was unlike anything I had experienced. Going back to it as an adult, I found so much more to appreciate. The animation and voice acting are superb. The music is some of Jeremy Soule's best work as a composer. The variety of locations and replay-ability in the randomization of where your items end up…

Released in 1997, the game follows the title character, a purple car named Putt-Putt, and a variety of car/transportation themed characters from history along a story to close the "Time Portal" accidentally opened by the car scientist, Dr. Firebird. The Story is family friendly featuring appropriate humor, puzzles, and mini-games for all ages. The…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's super cute, with 24 possible ways to reach the ending, so good luck to finding them all. It's a pity it is old and has no achievements, but I see a bunch of possibilities for it. It is totally worth the money if you are a PnC fan. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Putt-Putt is an amazing game to pass the time. The 90's kind of style is through the roof which I love and I know it's from '97 but it's genuinely not bad at all! Getting to the end and getting all the items was so rewarding when it happened I felt like I had just won life.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very nostalgic. Putt-putt Travels Trough Time is a great game (and game series). Especially if you are looking for something fun, and child-friendly, for your kid. It's also made so every time you play it it's not exactly the same every time (As with most of the Putt-Putt games). Play the game one day, the next, be prompted to solve a problem differently than what you did the game play before.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →We start to see a lot of idea bleed coming to and from other Humongous Entertainment games at this time. Putt-Putt Travels Though Time takes the sort of 'learning' aspect from the third game and mixes it up with a lot of fun elements from a game like Pajama Sam: No Need to Hide When It's Dark Outside. What's more, this is a game that actually starts to have a lot of replayability to it. We see objects get mixed around a lot - leading to multiple playthroughs which may not necessarily be the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the single greatest game I've ever played. The worldbuilding is superb. For instance, the blacksmith in Medieval Times creating a shield for King Chariot's great war, which we never hear of but know it exists through context. The character development of Toby the train from creepy old pervert to loyal, rehabilitated friend brought tears to my eyes. Most importantly, the song sung by the clocks-- the Muses of our age-- is a powerful ballad that rings through the ages. I would recommend…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game follows an emotional journey through time. Putt-Putt solves many people's problems while trying to get through some of his own. Through his journey he has to fight off dragons, steal from old men, drink soup and he even poisons a dinosaur in order to get his school supplies back. Best gift I've ever received.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This, along with a few other Humongous games, is among the best Humongous games made, and the best Putt-Putt game. The game has cool music, funny moments, great characters, and so much variety. There are 24 different paths in the game, and while some of them repeat things you may have seen before, they're all different. In the game you have to find 4 of Putt-Putt's missing items, and each of them can be in 1 of 4 different places, giving the player a reason to replay. I'd recommend this game…

Putt-Putt Travels Through Time soon to be canonized alongside the great existential works of Dostoevsky. History has simply not caught up to the pertinence of its themes, the raw ethnography of Putt-Putt’s chrono experience, the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm always a sucker for a time-travel plot, though clearly this a very basic implementation. Fun characters, just a touch of puzzle-solving complexity and the interaction between the four worlds is used sensibly without feeling too much like meaningless errands.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PUTT PUTT LORE SCORE Mr. Firebird probably definitely sent Putt-Putt through time on purpose: -3 points Putt-Putt cares more about his homework than Pep's safety: -2 points The existential horror of the inter-dimensional time tellers' song: +5 points Topiary creatures' song was still better (from Saves the Zoo): -5 points Personal oil wage slave of an overly enthusiastic train: -3 points Desert animal facts: +1 point Pajama Sam Sleeps in Savory Salad: +7 points Nostalgic childhood memories…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It feels really good to finally beat a game I've owned since childhood but never actually rolled credits on. You see, as a kid, I wasn't actually all that concerned with finding Putt-Putt's school supplies and I would instead just hang out with the dinosaurs and Wheel in the prehistoric era because I liked how Wheel would call him "Putt" and give him primordial soup. HUGE fan of Putt-Putt starting every conversation with "I've come from the future/past!" by the way. Good thing everyone else…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While the premise didn't sound all that interesting to me at first, as I played this game I started to like it more and more. It's a big improvement over the previous three games. It's an adventure game, just like Putt-Putt 1, 2, 3. However, this one has four time periods, it doesn't have heavy-handed 'click on this to learn about this animal' stuff like Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo, and while kids playing this game probably won't learn anything extremely deep, the vaguest introductions to a lot of…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Putt-Putt 4 (aka Putt-Putt Travels Through Time) is an ancient collection of childrens minigames wrapped up by a point and click adventure game made using the ScummVM engine. There's nothing wrong with the general idea, but this game is over 25 years old, it's ancient. 4:3, fixed resolution (looks like VGA). Weirdly, the devs have patched it from time to time, but this is really like putting lipstick on the skeleton of a pig that died long ago. I know that's not all that nice to say, but…
