positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →“It's never too late to have a happy childhood.” ~Tom Robbins, Still Life with Woodpecker Ah, Humongous Entertainment... So many great memories. Which is a funny story, by the way. See, at the moment Humongous Entertainment was founded and released their first game in 1992, I was already ten years old. And naturally, I didn't get any younger since then, while target audience of Humongous Entertainment's games was always preschoolers. And yet, even when I became a teen, I just kept playing…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My verdict: average game, too short compared to later games in the series, and too dull, but Ron Gilbert fan here. Seeing him as game director, I can only Recommend in bad faith. Plus, 40 minutes to 100% a game is perfect for a kid watching you play on your lap. He did seem to enjoy the animations a lot, too. Speaking of which, my kid's verdict: vvvvvvvllll lv l,;;;;,;,,,,;,;,;;, l;nbvùn: bbbh:m mmmmmmmnllllllll33333444444545454388 I had to stop him there because he went raving mad on the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is like the dark souls of point & click adventure games. Don't be fooled by its cutesy exterior, the game hates you and everything you stand for. It will curse your family and your family's family. When I launched this game a plague of lotuses ravaged my family's farm. Would recommend. 9/10

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game that only takes 10 minutes to finish. Definitely worth picking this up on sale. EDIT: Please, someone save me from from this perpetual state of hell that I have inflicted upon myself.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game brought back a lot of nostalgia. 10/10 would play again.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the very first PC games I ever played and now my kids absolutely love it too. Glad to see it available on steam. This is a game for children. If you're buying this to relive nostalgia, just watch a long play on youtube instead.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The very first game from Humongous Entertainment that started the entire franchise going forward. All the simple gameplay, puzzles, cool character designs, engaging writing all had to start somewhere and it's here. As time goes on they improved the artstyle massively and moved out of the DOS era as they finally found their style of interactive cartoons but for nostalgia's sake it's always really cool to see where it all began with the improvements made along the way.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I didn't grow up with Putt-Putt but I have always had a slight interest in the series because of people like PeanutButterGamer and Brutalmoose doing videos on the humongous entertainment games and after playing this I can say that it's a short, charming point and click game that's definitely worth playing through - it took me just under an hour to get through, but it can be a lot shorter if you ignore all the extras. The goal of Putt-Putt Joins the Parade is to...join the parade...and to do…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A story that begins as a basic search for your lost puppy evolves into something much more complex and morally nuanced. Like in Putt-Putt goes through time, we’re drawn into a struggle between several groups competing for control of the region, and deciding which of their imperfect post-apocalyptic philosophies to align with made me pause to consider how I wanted events to play out. Even the highly questionable Toy Store has a tempting reason to side with them, and turning away from them in my…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is the Dark Souls of point and click adventures
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Regardless of the nostalgia trip this game was, I would not recommend this game for a $7 price tag. To finish the full game it took 30 minutes. This game to me is worth $1 to $2 at most. It was nice to play something that I used to play as a kid, just to see how much games have changed in 33 years. Makes me appreciate how far gaming has come and how long I've been playing games.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a 30 minute adventure game that won't try your patience. It's hard to even begin to talk about the thing, what do I even say about this game? Just look at it and you'll probably get it. It's a point and click adventure game aimed at children. It is, however, pretty well made. You control 'Putt-Putt' with a single button, the left mouse button, and that's it. There's nothing really challenging in the game, but that also means nothing that'll frustrate you. The story is pretty basic, and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this game because my wife remembered playing it as a child and I wanted to get in on any bit of nostalgia she has for video games. So when I first booted it up I was like, "So is this the same game you played as a kid, there's like a dozen of these games?" And she said, "I don't remember it being that pixely, all I remember was you mow some lawns and can paint the car." And sure enough, you can mow some lawns, and paint the car, so this must be the game she had as a child. I guess you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Putt-Putt® Joins the Parade" presents a surprisingly challenging adventure reminiscent of navigating the perilous world of Dark Souls. Players are thrust into a vibrant yet treacherous town filled with intricate puzzles and cunning adversaries. Every decision demands meticulous planning and keen observation, as navigating Putt-Putt through bustling streets requires precise timing and strategic thinking. The parade sequence serves as a daunting test, akin to facing a relentless Dark Souls…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For as long as I can remember I've always loved those old retro shooters that your friends would never think about playing. My dad had a family computer in the living room and I used to play his old copies of Doom II and Quake. I used to be that one kid in middle school who would flex that I knew a lot more about games than everyone else, as playing these older games gave me a false sense of superiority. Embarrassingly I remember a moment in sixth grade when these two kids on the playground…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Putt-Putt 1 (aka Putt-Putt Joins The Parade) is an ancient collection of childrens minigames made using the ScummVM engine. The various minigames are connected with a basic LucasArts style point and click adventure as you guide the anthropomorphic motor vehicle, Putt-Putt, through a family friendly adventure. The game includes characters from a series of other educational childrens games, like Putt-Putt, Fatty Bear and Spy Fox. There's nothing wrong with the general idea, but this game is…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Putt Putt Joins the Parade, is, put simply, a masterpiece, it combines the beautiful animation of prior games in the Putt Putt franchise, with difficulty rivaling, if not surpassing that of Dark Souls. The rich and complex narrative of Putt Putt Joins the Parade pays homage to many great works of fiction, most notably, Homer's The Odyssey, it's rich dialogue, however, stems directly from Shakespeare, and, to be blunt, is beautiful. Putt Putt Joins the Parade is anything one could ever want in…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The absolutely outrageous amounts of blood gore and sexual acts in this makes it perfect for my 4 year old child. She loves seeing putt putt, "Mowing the lawn" or "Going to a parade"

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Putt Putt Joins the Parade was one of the first games I played as a young lass. Some things I remember 1. This game is charming and has great replay value with the items changing each time 2. Putt Putt is friendly AF 3. Clicking on things is fun Some things I forgot until my playthrough as an adult 1. Putt Putt found Pep in a freaking cave? Seriously? 2. Some of the cars have cool lawns to mow and others have boring ones. 3. The 'parade' was closer to six cars driving alone - where were…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Putt-Putt Joins the Parade" holds a special place in many gamers' hearts, not just for its nostalgic charm, but for its enduring qualities that make it stand out as one of the greatest games of all time. Firstly, the game's timeless appeal lies in its accessibility. Designed for children but enjoyed by all ages, "Putt-Putt Joins the Parade" offers simple gameplay mechanics that are easy to grasp yet engaging enough to keep players entertained for hours. Beyond its gameplay, the game is…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Every frame of animation has to be, by far, the single most nostaglic thing I could watch and play with. Having a terrible step dad and nothing but time. . . this game is a time sink and a cute little escape.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this for my daughter (for her 5th birthday) because I remember playing it as a child. I believe it was the first game I played independently. It’s still great as a first game. Reading is not required. It uses a yes or no shaking head or images for when you need to answer a question. I think it’s good for learning to use a mouse since they can focus on the mouse and there’s no keyboard usage. My daughter was struggling with a controller so this was a better intro game for her than…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played this game for the nostalgia because I played this when I was younger as a kid. Definitely a great wholesome kids game that I will happily let my son play when he is older! I like that it teaches kids to work for what they want (doing chores, mowing lawns, etc).
