negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Edit - 8 April 2018 (Less than two weeks following the start of early access) - Thorough developer support in discussions - bug fixes, suggestions, proper communication. - Already numerous suggestions implemented in build 0.99142 - triple jump, jump variation settings, player friction physics settings, and more.. - The bug fixes are coming quickly, within days. - First roadmap for suggested features tackles roughly 25 features - all planned for introduction by end of next week. Progress is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This tool, even though it simplifies and streamlines the process of making a platformer, is extremely barebones and really needs some work for me to recommend it... Bear with me a little here: I bought this game motivated by the trailers and it didn't live up to my expectations at all, it needs a lot more polish, specially in the mechanics you are allowed to introduce to the game. My main problem is that in the trailers it showed you can import Mario, Sonic and even Wonderboy assets, even…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm sorry, but I just don't like this game. And it's not because you can't export the games. First of all, the way the player controls just feels... bad. The jumping is way too fast and too high. Plus, there's no indication of what features a certain level has. Like double jumping for example. The game kinda feels like it's stuck between two identities. One wants to be an easy to use, premade assets, level editor. While the other wants to be a serious customizable game creator. This isn't…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoyed how easy it is to get your ideas on the screen in a matter of minutes. I'm primarily an pixel artist, I'm not a programmer by any means. So I need a program that does the heavy program lifting for me. That being said, I really miss a export feature. I want to create MY game, with own menus, logos and so on. As it stands now, I'm confined to the Platago ecosystem. I would gladly pay extra for at export feature. PRO: ease of use Con: No export capability
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →dead game. devs forgot it exists
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Simple to use Game Maker Tool. Unless you want something special, that will take work and much of your time PlataGo is a 2D Platformer maker with emphasis on quick and easy transitions between styles and eras of gaming. It was unexpectedly deeper, but not for the aspects in UI that where simple to use. I came to that realization as the need arose. I spent some time poking around, trying to find what exactly i could do. Here's the thing though, ultimately this game is only as good as you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is amazing. Really, I hesitate to call it a "game" because it's more like a set of tools ot build your own game, or to play games made by others. And unlike certain other "Makers" out there - you really can make entire games - with multiple connected levels and even a map screen. There are tons of fine-tooth controls, from setting the jump height, to how enemies are killed, to how to finish the level. And you can import your own sprites and background to truly make it your own…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Game Has Too Many Updates, But Other Than That It's Quite A Good Game I Give It A Rating Of 5/5
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR: Incredible game, amazing developer and support. If you love creating levels, such as in Mario Maker, you'll love this game. It has so many tools and customization options to choose from- you can insert your own sprites (currently need to make them in an outside program), can use sprites other users have shared, change the gravity, adjust friction/jump power/jumping capabilities, set timers for obstacles, etc. While the game currently could use a little polish (it's in alpha testing, so…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, responsive developer who releases updates constantly (sometimes several updates a day even!) It really shows that this game is not some Mario Maker rip-off (*cough* Box Maker *cough*), but instead something that comes from the place of love, a passion project. Yes, I had some issues, however the speed with what the developer is releasing fixes and feature updates means that (unless the issue wasn't reported properly, by Bugs forum), means that any bug, even serious ones such as…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been playing this game for some time now and it's cool to see a editor-focused platformer with lots of polish and features. All the different options for designing custom levels combined with graphic modes based on retro consoles and computers of the 80's/90's give it lots of replay value too. Hope to see this game get bigger in the future. ^^
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →extremely clunky in terms of FPS and character animations, feels like a unfinished game you'd play if you were a beta tester for a very early version of such moral of the story: don't play this game on a high end pc, it was designed for toasters and it becomes super clunky if you use a powerful computer, the fps will become unstable at times and sprite animations go EXTREMELY fast
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have purchase PlataGo! recently and I am really happy about what it has to offer. Its an early access game / engine so I am aware that they are still bugs and even some basic things to add. However I value a few things in this early state: - Responsive developer, the software is often updated and the dev is on the forums help and answering questions - There is a lot of stuff added already. There are a very large number of possible elements to add to your platforming game for which you can…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good and easy to use for the type of people who are interested in making a game. This software is certainly worth the money but just to warn you that the graphics aren't the best as they aren't suppose to be. With this software you can just click and drop the things that you want to place and you have a wide selection of monsters, objects, weapons, themes and you can even change the character that you play as. So believe me when i say that this software is certainly worth the money and is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a really great game and i love to play it, but please could you release it for Mac?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great potential, but I refunded because you can not make a standalone game with it. You can only share with other PlataGO! users. If that gets implemented I will buy it for sure!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PlataGO! is Awesome, i create unique levels fast and ease.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PlataGO! has a lot of potential but it is a little rough around the edges currently. I would recommend it though for its potential since it's still in early access. If you want to read more of my thoughts on it you can do so here: https://whatevo.com/post/237/steam-summer-sale-retrospective
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is fun, but the recent update with the movement kinda made it hard to get the charector to controll just right. There was problems in trying to string levels around, but eveauntally it worked. 6/10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My kids first platform builder, and they will always love it, but development is over and it doesn't export, so now my son is begging for Platform Builder to get to the next level. Certainly worth a good sale price for young kids.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PlataGO is a great little platform game builder. For the sale price it's more than worth a download. The best part of the app is the workshop. The community has made some fantastic mods and art for the game. It's too bad you can't export your game to share it with friends but, it's fun to great games at home.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The physics make me want to fill my gulp down gallons of gunpowder and jump into a pit of flames
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very easy to use and extremely fun too. The editor comes with default assets and themes so you can start making your platformer right away. Of course, with a bit of artistic license and know-how, you can edit and create your own visual and audio assets to use in your game too. The editor comes with interchangeable themes, from 8-bit era, handheld sepia and fantasy/sci-fi overtones. Recommended if you are bored and want something to fill a weekend or you are teaching your kids how to be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its has a lot of assets and skins for your game and if your a super mario maker pro you could make abetter mario maker level (with slopes)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not Much Options. I Feel Ripped Off. DON'T BUY!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →mario maker but steam
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This program makes it really easy to create a 2d platform game similar to the early Super Mario games on NES etc. The user interface would need some reworks, as some parts are quite illogical (such as loading/saving levels. rename or delete, anyone?). Properties cannot be set on existing objects by right-click, altough the property editor is displayed. Instead, properties have to be set BEFORE inserting the object, and cannot be changed once set. (Perhaps this has been improved in the last…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have liked what I have played so far. There are plenty of stuff to put in your level, and some monsters as well. There are some levels that come included with the game, and plenty of themes as well. Along with that, you can also make your own themes. The customization is great, and some parts of it are even better than Super Mario Maker. I highly recommend this to those who are interested.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Took me 15 minutes to learn the basics. I like the different types of platforms such as nintendo or gameboy and others to choose from. A good buy that I got on sale :D
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I Seldom leave reviews but PlataGo is a real treat just love the concept the developers have , playing the games you build is a blast but building the game is Real Fun Also! BigTime you build and test in seconds build and test then build and test Great Stuff Thanks so Much for all your time and effort ,PlataGo Future is so bright it's gonna need shades -To Cool For School thanks!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It’s fun to make stages and play stages but you can also make your own mods to play with. 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →pretty good i kinda just want to mod easier but overall pretty neat 8/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I see alot of potiental in this. it's a little buggy, but that can be forgiven since it's still in development. it's very intresting, And I see SO much potiental in this. I hope the creators look at my suggestions and add alot of stuff. do check it out.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I freaking love this game!! i hope they add more items! keep up the good work guys. I hope all have a great day.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There's quite a bit of content available at this point and it looks pretty nice, but the system could definitely use some more features that I assume will be added in due time. pros: - Level creation system has a lot of depth going for it with traps, upgrades and layers. - Levels can be linked with doors to create a big adventure (hopefully this will be fleshed out a bit more with persistent states). - Controls are tight (and hopefully can be modified in a later update). - Workshop support.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's super fun to just make your own levels, I love all the options you have for them. The game has quite a few bugs, but I can look past those easily. Would recommend to people who like to make their own things and to people who like platformer games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PlataGO! Super Platform Game Maker is a not directly a game in itself, despite having been launched in the game section of Steam. It's unfortunate the developers of this non-game failed to follow Valve's instructions on how to publish non-game software on Steam: [url=https://help.steampowered.com/en/wizard/HelpWithPublishing?issueid=925]Steam Developer Help With Software Publishing It's unfortunate this process was not known about/followed, resulting in a software application being published…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love it :) I'm just itching for more sprite customisation like crouching and stuff pls bring more advanced features xx 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is great for an up and coming map designer. I know there are professionals in the field that do only the things in Platago! One update I would recommend is bounce physics when selecting the stomp option.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its just a pretty good maker game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's okay, but way too overpriced and hard to use. I have no idea what to do or how to do it, and I think that maybe this game would be better at 5 dollars, because 20 dollars is way too much, and I honestly expected to more for my money.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You can make a entire universe in platago. any 2d platformer. Maybe a RPG even???
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →too amazing beautiful why am i acting like a 3yr old
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a super fun game to play! I love making my own sprites and making custom levels
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i like it gooooooooooooooood
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it has potential but ...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like it but it has an awful amount of bugs, this review will list all of the ones I've found: • There is a stray pixel on one of the tall spikes • Two tiles are on the tile sheet but cannot be placed (could be intentional: unused content) • The acid drips are missing a frame of animation (could be intentional: unused content) • The crate ground type overlaps with the one above it on the tile sheet • One of the ladder types cannot be placed, as it places another type of ladder instead •…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/nqD7UlR1MGg Controls are the most important element for a platformer to be received well and what is provided here isn't up to the task.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →neat game and all, but there are way better ways to spend 20$
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Help; I've fallen and I can't get up!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's good if you want to get into 2d level design.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is very nice and fun I recommend to players who want to try Super Mario Maker but don`t have a Switch/Wii U since when I got Super Mario Maker 2 I had stopped playing for a long time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice level creator
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →yes i would recommend this but it does need a little more to be amazing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought on Sale recently to give me a feel and a gateway to development and software like game maker studio 2 However it desperately needs some updates Please!! and for what I paid for it Iv had some great nostalgic fun for a few hrs.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gets boring after a short while, really limited with what you can do.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okay - first and foremost - THERE IS NO EXPORT OR FREE PLAYER Therefore if you create with this application, you are limiting your players to only being able to play if they buy the full product. Also, based on a few hours playing around with it, this is a minimal creation engine compared to other creation engines on the market. Even things cheaper than this have elements that are not supported with this one. "The only limit is your imagination!" is only as true to the design of the primary…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it fun and easy to pick up and play and mod
