Examples: Mega Man 7 EP, XCom 2: Long War Of the Chosen, Phoenix Point: Terror from the Void, Battletech Advanced. Mods that fully deconstruct a game, then rebuild it into something new.
unlabelledView post →That's nice! Got a press release about a big final overhaul update for Phoenix Point (genuinely underrated game) with a whole section about how they worked closely with the developer of mega-mod Terror From The Void to ensure full compatibility. Also a price drop/sale. Full game is £11. Recommended

The HUGELY undersold action-RTS (think Brutal Legend + Ratchet & Clank) from the Phoenix Point studio. The game has a friend-pass too, so only one purchase needed for online co-op.
unlabelledView post →Sometimes, when I'm feeling mean spirited, I'll say something like, "X-com's most recent game was about playing cops, while Phoenix Point is about vaporizing Elon Musk with lasers with anarchists"
unlabelledView post →Phoenix Point is a game that genuinely believes in anarchism - in that it thinks anarchism is good and that anarchists can and should be given laser guns. The main failing of Synedrion is that they're not able to bring to bear immense violence on specific threats - which is their biggest strength!

unlabelledView post →It's kinda fun that playing X-Com: Enemy Unknown, Terror from the Deep, Apocalypse and Phoenix Point and you can see a pretty steady definition and refinement of a basic moral question that each game is increasingly *about* until it's the entirety of PP: What does it mean to be a human being?
unlabelledView post →man idk why i ever bothered listening to General Consensus for years i've heard that Phoenix Point does nothing to differentiate itself from Firaxis XCOM, and within 10 minutes of game start i'm introduced to vehicles and the ability to target enemy parts to cripple or impair them

unlabelledView post →it's very funny to watch this x-com retrospective and it's like, "The DLC added this and this and this" and I keep going, "oh neat, stuff Phoenix Point did! ...in the base game!" (the build variation in PP is still my favorite thing about it)
unlabelledView post →I wish I could properly explain the effect that Phoenix Point has on my psyche like it is THE MOST absolutely precise balance of "I should put this game away, it's clearly not working for me, here are the documentable reasons" vs "NEW YEAR, NEW RUN ATTEMPT, MAYBE THIS TIME"

If you love tactical RPGs like the Shadowrun Trilogy, Wasteland 3, old-school Fallout, or games like XCOM 2 / Phoenix Point... check it out! ☝️ #TurnBasedThursday #PCGaming #VideoGames 🎮
unlabelledView post →I think I'll always have a special kind of respect for 'rebuild' style mega-mods like Battletech Advanced, XCom: Long War, Phoenix Point: Terror From The Void. Mods that take apart the entire game, all of its DLC, all of its systems, lay out the parts... and then puts them together... differently.
unlabelledView post →Phoenix Point 100% has better mechanics then X-Com. The Biggest Flaw of PP is that if you buy it with all the DLC, and start a new game, it turns them ALL on, which is a HOT MESS. The game become quickly unplayable and BAD, I suggest only turning on one of the Main DLCS Per playthrough. See Below

This is a MASSIVE MOD for #PhoenixPoint, that rebalances the entire game, and changes just about everything a little bit! unlabelledView post →Julian Gollop is such a brilliant game designer. Before the X-Com series, he made Chaos, Rebelstar, Laser Squad, and Lords of Chaos on the Spectrum. Absolutely amazing games, all of them. Recently, he made Chaos Reborn, which is a great game, and Phoenix Point, which I haven't actually played yet.
unlabelledView post →The rarest rule 34 , Phoenix Point. Very happy to have kickstarted this game all those years ago, it's so good, and these eldritch horrors know how to fuck :D #peril #horror #r34
unlabelledView post →We beat Blue Prince! 🥳 What an absolutely incredible game, cannot recommend it more, such a joy to play! We aren't done with it though, there are secrets to find! But we'll probably continue some VR with Nixo and Phoenix Point first 👀
unlabelledView post →Wasteland 2, Pillars of Eternity, and Phoenix Point turned out p good and Yooka Laylee def has its fans, enough to churn out a few games. Bloodstained also gave us 2 insanely fantastic smaller platformers. It's not really fair to discount a game for belonging to an arbitrary category.
unlabelledView post →Colony Ship: A Post-Earth Role Playing Game It also has a Demo which consists of Act 1 (I think) of the game if you want to try it out before buying. Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon (The only game that scratches that Elder Scrolls itch in the modern decade) Also has a demo Phoenix Point

unlabelledView post →I've been waiting for a good successor to XCOM forever and I know plenty of others who have as well. Apart from Chaos Gate: 40K and Phoenix Point I can't even think of any other games of that type. What do you think? Would you play a game like this? #videogames, #games, #strategygames
unlabelledView post →Have you played Phoenix Point? It's very much Gollop doing a game for the fanbase.
unlabelledView post →Game sunday! First game is Phoenix Point by a publisher who almost never misses for me. Bit dense and the order of the rulebook was super annoying but I LIKE IT.
unlabelledView post →Not sure if it runs on iPads, but Phoenix Point is the most Xcom 3 game I've ever played.
unlabelledView post →Phoenix Point was developed by the original developer of XCom from the 90s. And XCom 2 Terror From the Deep exists as a game and it’s kind of great. XCom: Apocalypse is also extremely worth checking out if you can get it to run.
unlabelledView post →Can happily second this recommendation. Phoenix Point is the best game to play after you've thoroughly run out of things to do in XCOM 2.
unlabelledView post →Phoenix Point :3 Also every Supergiant Games game before hades (Bastion, Transistor, and Pyre)
unlabelledView post →All your Phoenix Point posting has me opening this game up again for the first time in like 2-3 years and I now I have to relearn all the Geoscape jank But like Damn The aiming and body part systems are just so inspired and nothing matches up to that system yet!
unlabelledView post →Phoenix Point. It's an XCOM like game from a few years ago. Pretty good if you like that sort of thing.
unlabelledView post →Phoenix Point in my opinion is the best XCOM game because of both the setting and the tactical flexibility. It’s great, especially when you want to just plunder the weird fascist human supremacist guy’s bases.
unlabelledView post →I wish I could play this game so much. When I'm done with Void Bastards and then Armored Core I'll have to put on Phoenix Point to tide me over.

unlabelledView post →I'm not usually a tactics game guy, but XCOM 2 is one of my favorite games ever made. It got me more into the genre, and I played Enemy Within, a bit of Phoenix Point, and struggled against Xenonauts because of it. Also go play Xenonauts. It's super hard, but very fun.

unlabelledView post →Tried an Xcom-like game I forgot I bought on sale ages ago called Phoenix Point I don't say this lightly I actually hate this game. I have zero motivation to keep playing, which is saying something because usually when I "hate" a game I stick with it out of bitter persistence. Not here, at all
unlabelledView post →Phoenix Point was really interesting because it was an X-COM game that was like "what if the aliens weren't a tactically inflexible interstellar hyperpower, but creepy crab men from the sea?" This was a really interesting take on the genre!
unlabelledView post →Will be live with BATTLETECH in 51 minutes! Ive started this game a few times, but never actually beat it, so this will *mostly* be new to me similar to Phoenix Point Will Repost when Live
unlabelledView post →the Gamer’s Dilemma writ large. glad to hear you got into Phoenix Point after all, i’m considering diving back in myself at some point! The Terror From the Void mod fixed a lot of my dissatisfaction with the core game.
unlabelledView post →You’ve probably already heard of it, but I’d recommend Phoenix Point too. It’s a little rough around the edges when I first played it but it’s a good tactics game that feels like it took the old X-COM games and put a twist on some of the ideas.
unlabelledView post →Thank fucking god ! Although one issue wasn't lack of rebindable keys, but lack of rebindable Z key specifically. For Phoenix Point I'm sure of it, I'll try V rising again and see if it's all good now, game looks right up my alley
unlabelledView post →Phoenix Point - How did the OG dev of Xcom fuck up so bad making an XCOM clone like that game is miserable Bastion - SPIKE ON A RAIL IS GREAT AND I LOVE MY NARRATOR Transistor and Pyre - I have never played these before but I want to play Transistor because cool ass tech sword
unlabelledView post →I have only seen Let's plays of that one, and it didn't seem like my cup o' tea. And that's fine, as we say here in Köln (Cologne): "Jede Jeck is anders!" ("Everyone is different!") I'm a bit of a weird one, so I enjoy "Phoenix Point", a very involved tactics game to take my mind off things.
unlabelledView post →started playing Phoenix Point: Complete Edition Although a bit uncompromising and (too?) hard to beat (I came close once), it's a highly enjoyable follow-up to Xcom that keeps on giving after *checks notes* 932 logged hours of gameplay so far. Right now I'm checking ou……

unlabelledView post →For anyone missing X-COM, Phoenix Point is absolutely brilliant! store.steampowered.com/app/839770/P...
unlabelledView post →Phoenix Point is a flawed game, but I like how it's basically a The Mist strategy game. I get why XCOM has more traditional grey aliens, but the Pandoravirus has more flair (on top of being darkly funny as an element from a game released in 2019).
unlabelledView post →Have you tried Phoenix Point? I'd recommend picking it up on sale rather than full price but it might scratch that itch. store.steampowered.com/app/839770/P...

unlabelledView post →#PhoenixPoint really misses the mark with the factions element of the game. All the factions suck, so I never side with anyone which ends up with everyone hating me. It’s like, bro, I’m too busy trying to save the world from mutant zombie monsters from the sea. Can we just put our dumb feelings aside? I got annoyed with the experience and stopped playing. Ya’ll don’t deserve to be saved. I’ll just play #XCOM again. #TurnBased #Strategy #VideoGame
unlabelledView post →I've just started playing Phoenix Point on my steam deck, and this immediately feels way more like the original xcom than did last decade's Firaxis remake. The original xcom game had a big influence on me and the creepy midi soundtrack used to give young me the chills, while the xcom remake's soundtrack was disappointingly bombastic military music. So far I'm enjoying Phoenix Point, the one gripe is that some text is small on steam deck's 1280 x 800 screen. #PhoenixPoint #Xcom #SteamDeck
