From my understanding, this used to be a microtransactions game, now a pay to play game. That change is good, as I prefer to buy the game once and enjoy it without being gated by energy, watching ads for gems, or having to buy lootboxes for cards. But the game itself has not been updated to match this change. The menu is annoying to navigate, the online saving and crossplatform saves transfer isn't reliable (you can lose your teams and your progress), the deck building is abysmal and tedious.…

It's unfortunate to have to write a review like this, but it is necessary. For all the good there is in this game, it is overshadowed by the numerous minor, major, and game-breaking bugs - especially the final scenario. The developers/publisher abandoned this game unfinished a long time ago, and just left it in it's current bug-riddled state. It's shameful. You don't have to look very hard on the internet to find the catalogs of bugs that passionate players have diligently spelled out for the…

I really tried to get into it but it's just not possible, the game is janky, has a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ shop, no lore just some lackluster dialogue, a frustrating 30 round limit and you can't even make your own character... Oh yeah, it also bugs out a couple of times per adventure. It's just not fun to play

I want to like this game, I really do. But the changes from the tabletop game to the digital game are predatory and designed to make the game less fun in order to force microtransactions. As it is, rather than being 'A board game that emulates playing through a pathfinder adventure' it's more like 'A board game that emulates playing through a pathfinder adventure run by an adversarial DM who is unhappy unless they're "winning"' and that is the worst possible tabletop experience.

It's an alright game. But with everything these days, it seems the devs have started boarding the "Microtransaction bus to hell". I'll keep grinding, but i'm dissapointed at what buying the full game grants me so far.

The difficulty level is quite high. Although the randomness of the cards is fascinating, the controllability of the randomness, in my opinion, is overly dependent on luck.

Got this game looking for something nice and casual to play. It starts out fine, but about half way through the second quest it becomes nearly impossible. Been playing for 9 hours and I've spent at least the last 5 of those doing the same quest over and over. This things a beast, the random roller seems to think 80% success chance means roll a 1. I wouldn't suggest this game to anyone unless you are looking to put your face to the grind stone.

I apologise in advance for the long review, I hope that it helps you make an informed decision about your purchase. I did not intend for this to be so long, but apparently I had a lot to say about this game. This game had the potential to be great. There are so many things that the developers did right, it makes the game very enjoyable at times. Sadly, the things that they do wrong outweigh and ruin the whole experience. I think the primary mechanic that ruins my enjoyment, personally, is…

BEWARE!! This is NOT multiplayer. The description text is quite misleading stating: "..entirely new breed of digital card game, where players adventure collaboratively...". I thought this would be a fun Co-op game to play with my friends during the ongoing pandemic. @Asmodee and Obsidian: Change that text. It is quite misleading.

I honestly have had a ton of fun with this game. It is however absolutely rife with bugs- some minor, some helpful, some that will make you lose entire scenarios- and is absolutely not being worked on in anyway. Also, the linking to other devices is buggy as all hell, do everything right and still except to lose progress as it somehow fails to save. I got it via a humblebundle that cost less than this game's price, so it was worth it for me. Your mileage will vary, I'd get it on sale if at…

I want to recommend this game, I really do. It is a pretty faithful recreation of the card game and I love playing it with my friends. That being said I wish this had a multiplayer mode. And this game seems to get buggier as time goes on. So many times I have things just not work the way they are supposed to. Abilities don't trigger. Extra explorations don't happen, but sometimes they do but for some reason just pop up the same encounter you just did so they effectively made you burn more…

I can handle real-money shops, if they're optional. I can also handle game-breaking bugs, if there are workarounds. But an unaddressed, game-breaking bug that makes the last level even harder, which just so happens to incentivize buying buffs at the cash shop? Now that's scummy.

An enjoyable digital adaptation of the tabletop deck building card game, released in a poorly handled state but the later Obsidian version makes it much easier to get into. Pathfinder Adventures is a card game where 1-6 characters, with each character typically based on one of the iconic Pathfinder characters that represents a particular class, play through a series of games with cards and scenarios based on the adventure paths that have been written for the TRPG. This is one of those spots where steam needs a neutral recommendation. There's a lot to unpack with this game. First off this is a video game based off of a board game. That board game is a great game that I am very fond of and this video game is a faithful port of that game. Over time the board game has been expanded upon greatly and those expansions have added a lot of really solid features and improvements. This video game ONLY covers the initial offerings of the board game, not the…

No. One of the worst card games I've ever played, and it has nothing to do with the actual design of the cards, but the implementation of game mechanics. So, it works like this: You have a party of adventurers and you have to find the Big Bad Boss (BBB) in a given scenario. He also has henchmen. The BBB and the henchmen hide in various locations, which you explore in an attempt to thwart them. Cool! So far so good. However, this is where things start to get crap (the poor implementation…

The game itself is great! I own both the board game and the digital game on steam//mobile- but after several updates, the digital game has gotten pretty bad. You are bombarded with DLC upsells. You can end up in weird gamestates that get you stuck - literately no path forward, the UI is just stuck. This has happened to me the last few times I've tried to play and it's just too much.

I'm a big fan of the physical game, was enjoying this one despite running into a number of glitches along the way. Hit the final mission and it keeps crashing, turns out some of the cards in my decks cause the final mission to bug out. I'd have given it a passably positive review up to that point, but breaking right at the end is inexcusable and irritating. Stay away.

This game is entirely too buggy. I fought the same henchman five times in a row, and then still took 20 damage for no reason. I've been stuck in several situations that required a forfeit to get out of, and with the UI, it's difficult to know who's turn it is, in many of those situations. Do not recommend.

Too many bugs and the developer do not care! This is a fantastic game, specially at the tabletop version, where you dont have to deal with the so many bugs this game have. Most of them are just annoying and do not compromise the gameplay, but there are some soft locks that forces you do forfeit and try again. It happens at the final scenario too and basically avoid you to finish the campaign if you are not prepared for this bug (and you wont at yout first run). I really enjoy the game, because…

Overall, I very much like this game. I have become somewhat addicted to it. Given the game's incredible amount of deck building diversity, and card count, no two games ever need to be the same, offering an almost infinite amount of replayability. The main things that I don't like about the game are listed below, in no particular order: A: some of the rules don't make sense compared to the physical card game, like the "Stash" system for instance, which I also don't like. B: The over…

I went all the way to the last one. The main issue is that it's rather buggy. Additionally, this is abandoned so we know it won't be fixed in the future. When I got to the last one, the big electric dragon kept showing up randomly. I decided to quit when it decided I owed 34 damage (when it's supposed to be 1d4+1). The game is great in theory, the implementation is almost there. It's just too damned buggy.

Since there are a lot of negative reviews for this game, I thought I'd post one in its defense. I don't generally like RNG-based games, but this one is usually beatable if you play your cards wisely. It's quite generous with bonus abilities and cards, and the in-game gold can be spent on charms that can be used to offset a run of bad luck with dice rolls. There are a lot of campaigns and scenarios with novel challenges, so I was never bored. There's also some replay value, since you can…

So not only did it save me hours of setup to play the card game, it allowed me to play anywhere I went and they'd sync up!(can play offline too) Of note, if you love this game and want the DLC then shop across all of the platforms as some have uber-discounted amounts. The game just isn't fun. Deckbuilding sucks. The story sucks. If there is a skill component here, it's buried deep behind some very random cards and opaque mechanics. Nothing feels like it synergizes. Nothing feels thematic. Turn actions feel limited and stove-piped. If there is fun here, I'm having to look way too hard for it.

Downsides: singleplayer, feels like it dreams about crashing, and there is only the first set, Rise of the Runelords, with zero indication of adding more. That last one made me disappointed, the system is here all they would need to do is translate the cards. Pros: Cheap, works, and lets you play 600 times faster than in paper. In-game purchases are unnecessary and if you want the paper experience I'd actually advise against utilizing them. It's fine. 78/100

I wish this game had been more successful, so they would adapt the other Pathfinder Adventures modules. Unfortunately, it seems like it was a flop, and this is all we're ever going to get. It's a pretty good adaptation of the table-top version, except it's only one player. You would probably enjoy playing it. But, I can't recommend it because it's essentially an unsupported product now.

This game's a decent translation of Pathfinder (Dungeons & Dragons) into a deck-building format, but the interface is both frustrating and confusing. The game also imposes an unfair time limit during certain quests, which IMO doesn't suit D&D or card games. For these reasons I can't recommend what otherwise could have been a decent time-killing game.
