Now I know the random chills I get are just ghosts passing through We are going all the way back to October 1944 as World War 2 is nearing the end as the German Army is about to withdraw. However, they have something else up their sleeve that their enemies, and maybe even their allies, won’t see coming. In this alternate history retelling, Germany set up a secret division called Okkulte-55 that put its focus on the occult. I suppose anything that has the possibility of giving them an edge in…

Review by [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/43642699-The-Adventure-Library/lists/] The Adventure Library - all about point and click adventures A classic point and click adventure. The pixel-art reminds me of the old Lucasfilm SCUMM adventures from the 80s, the light-hearted humor as well. The story of a wheelchair-bound english paranormal scientist and his Japanese servant operating in a rural village in Nazi occupied Norway, where the Nazis conjure evil forces to turn the tide…

Nine Witches: Family Disruption is an humorous adventure game with lots to offer to genre's fans. PROS: + Pixel art: Darn, it is a beauty. And as a graphic artist im envious of this great achievement. Amazing color palette, brilliant characterizations, superb backgrounds and funny animations, bravo! + Sound design: Music and effects are all in place and worked on. Only thumbs down is that there's no voice overs, i would have liked them. + Humor: Great sense of humor similar to early Lucas…

For my first review on Steam, I have picked the game I hated the most in 2023. Don't let the okay-looking pixelart fool you: this game has shockingly bad action sequences, an insane amount of padding in the form of backtracking (seriously, is a fast travel option too much to ask?) and is aggressively unfunny. It's roughly 3 1/2 hours short but feels twice as long. Plus the music was missing while playing on Steam Deck. Avoid at all costs.

This game mixes a lot of fun elements, but somehow isn't fun to play. It feels more like a series of chores. Lots of doubling back to old areas to find combinations of items to proceed a half step further in the game. And the combat portions are just plain irritating.

A fun game dragged down by shooting segments. Did you enjoy the shooting segments in Gemini Rue? I SURE DIDN'T. These are somehow LESS FUN and HARDER TO GET PAST. The developers added a way to make the gun play a bit easier, but that still doesn't make them enjoyable. The rest of the game is not compelling enough to make up for the shooting.

Its lazily written and developed game. Too many 4th wall jokes, you have to go over same dialouges with npcs over and over, boring soundtrack, incompetent QOL. Some jokes are good here and there a little bit interesting bot overall cliche story. Gets boring quickly sorry not worth your time and money

    • Very detailed pixel art with a great choice of colors that help build the atmosphere of every scene. • Interesting plot that's rich in details. You never know what's gonna happen next and that keeps you on your toes. Maybe I'm biased because I just really like games taking place during WW2. • Schmidt's contagious HA HA. • Personally I liked the gun play, it's something different and I wish there were more combat segments. Would've been a way of making the game longer without being the main…

It's a good game, but a few things annoyed me: - The phrase "Yes, right. Of course." is used too often - There are too many "pixel" jokes -- it gets old fast - An occasional break of the fourth wall is alright, but it happens too often - The developers couldn't resist the temptation to include themselves in the game It's still enjoyable, but mainly because of the excellent graphics and music.

Pros: +pixel art +some toilet humor +like 3 funny jokes Cons: -a lot of doubling back -excruciating walking portions: you have to navigate the same 7 maze screens if you want to get to the point; no shortcuts though you reached it -combat portions are only bearable making a deal with the devil

Unfortunately, this game falls far beneath all of it's inspirations. The writing is neither witty nor funny, and it's gameplay (both point and click puzzles and combat sections) range from uncreative to bewlidering. At least the art is pretty.

Edit: Last weekend I finished the game and the game stays good from the beginning until the end. The difficulty is ok. Not to easy and not to hard. The humor stays great all the time. There was no moment I got bored. There are also a few action moments where you have to shoot. If I need to give a score to this game it would be a 10/10 because it simply was perfect for me. My first review: Nine Witches: Family Disruption has some good humor. Until now I reached Chapter 3. I had to play…

Nine Witches is a good game, though it turned out to be not at all what I expected. My expectations were based on the short demo I played, as well as the screenshots of the game I have seen floating around. When you load the game up, the developers recommend a game pad, and I will agree with that assessment. Keyboard will work as well. The store tag "point-and-click" is kind of misleading. The big selling points are the pretty pixel art style and the novel approach to the genre. The thing…

I thought this game was so much fun! They story was funny and clever and kept me hooked. The puzzles were logical and went with the flow of the game. Manual saves and fast movement of the characters are always a plus. I loved how the little bits of combat in the game were optional. If you don't want them, just make a deal and they are done. My play time was 8 hours so I thought it was well worth the price for length and a very fun adventure game. I highly recommend this one!

This game was a blast! The story was exciting and the puzzles were fun and satisfying to solve. The humor was a touch heavy on the potty side, but there was plenty of clever jokes to balance it out. The combat is fun, but really tough. I was glad I could switch to easy mode, though it honestly made fighting a bit too easy early in the game. It worked out great in later fights. It's a classic point-and-click adventure with some nazi-shooting thrown in for good measure. I highly recommend this…

Great game, a callback to old times. There are only a few downsides, that also seem to be taken right out of old point and click games: You could have the right idea but just short of one right action. This could lead to a useless wild goose chase until you try the same thing again, just correctly this time. And i so wished for a quicktravel function. Having to walk all over the map over and over again just seems like artificial playtime streching. But still, i would recomend this game to…

Meh. I'll give it a thumbs up, but just barely. At first I liked it a lot more than that and expected it to be an easy recommendation, but it gets progressively worse the further it goes. So it's a good thing it's a pretty short game I suppose at 6.5 hours for my playthrough (and there are no missable achievements or the like that would make me want to replay it). I liked the two main characters and a number of the side characters, and the basic story setup is well done and for the most…

Yeah I liked it; kind of reminded me of Darkest Detective meets Ben there Dan that meets the Blackwell series Pros -Really beautiful pixel art -Interesting story involving Nazis and the Occult. Think Indiana Jones or Hell boy. -Funny dialog -Solid performance -Interesting mechanics e.g. talking to ghosts, mind control. -What little music I heard was pleasant enough and fit the theme. 4/10 - Exceptionally unfunny point and click game filled with terrible combat sections and only passable puzzles. This was a huge letdown. It looked great, and the occult WW2 theme is often interesting, the plot is pretty good but the comedy in the game is basically overuse of 4th wall breaks and poop jokes, it's not that either of them couldn't work once, but when it's all the game has it, gets boring very fast and before the game is finished it's almost unbearable. No fast travel system : There is way too much walking around in the game. Also having to repeat labyrinth section (the forest) every time you visit there. There should've been a fast travel system that also allows skipping over already solved puzzle sections. Having had fast travel would have probably tipped the scale for me to recommend the game. Puzzles are unengaging : This is largely because of the lack of fast travel. It discourages trial and error problem solving if you have to walk long…

You will know why you died, and I actually hope I got to see them all. I really wish I could give this game a "neutral" rating, but I decided to give it a thumbs-up, instead of a thumbs-down, because I feel like the devs genuinely cared about their game and I believe they have the potential to develop better games in the future. It's not great......but it left me (mostly) entertained and I didn't need to consult a walkthrough too often (my gold standard for whether a point and click adventure is good or not is how bat-crap insane/galaxy-brain the puzzle solutions are), so if you can get it on sale, go for it. *Positives* The game's graphics are colourful and pleasing to the eye (yes, I know it's pixel art, but it's GOOD pixel art) with some nice filters thrown in from time to time. If there is a downside it might be a slightly linear, but it really doesn't feel that way because the world is so large and varied. this one worked for me on almost every level. superb pixel-art (some of the colour palettes were genuinely breathtaking), good snappy writing, and just the right level of difficulty in the puzzles. the humour in Nine Witches: Family Disruption, comes in two distinct flavours: 1. deliciously absurd meta-jokes (e.g. characters commenting on the pixelated backgrounds, or pointing out when the game title comes up in their dialogue), and; 2. weird, almost obsessively scatological gross-out humour.…

Nine Witches is one of those games that I enjoyed, but it's hard to put my finger on why exactly that is. There are some stellar comedic moments, but they're equally balanced with excessive toilet humour. Some of the puzzles are clever, but just as many of them are guessing games or fetch quests. It trembles on a line between mediocrity and excellence, it's just really hard to quantify what would have to change to push it over. Despite this, Nine Witches has a ton of heart and is clearly a…

This game felt like playing one of those old point and click games. The best part was the story, it's characters, the art and its gameplay. But the worst was also the gameplay. While it was only a few mechanics towards the end of the game, in true classic point and click fashion, there were a few puzzles that had you scratching your head at how it was possible to come to that conclusion. There were some decent mechanics in this. Switching characters was interesting except that the second character can't do 90% of the actual interactions so it felt tacked on. The 'action' sequences started out fun but even the devs must have known they were too hard and added in a 'just nuke em all' options with that extra added bonus of shaming you for using it. Хочется только пожаловаться на обилие бектрекинга, особенно во второй половине игры и странно решение с отсутсвием шорткатов в ряде мест из-за чего этот самый бектрекинг ощущается крайне утомительным. 7,5/10

There were a few pretty tricky parts that I had to look up a guide on, and the back and forth in a few places detracted from the experience, but it was pretty fun overall.
