Starts right up. No game crashing bugs. -Weird story and theme. -Lots of save slots -Quality of life features (object highlight function, floor fast travel) -Does have a neo-retro Maniac Mansion feel to it -Puzzles are mostly straightforward, mostly good game flow. (more on this later) Meh...: -No voice acting. This…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not Another Weekend Review written after completing the game. An adult game that pays homage to Point and Click games from the 80’s in style and in game mechanics. This game surprised me quite a lot. I was not expecting the game to be as lengthy as it was. It is $9.99 as I write this so I thought four, maybe five hours. Then I started playing 😊; 14 hours later I finished; this is a lot of game for the money you invested! Your mission, as the head Bellboy is to empty the hotel of all…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not Another Weekend is a polished and dare I say addictive point-and-click adventure suitable for genre newcomers but also capable of delighting fans of the classics. It's so good that I could not put it down, and burned through the game in one or two marathon sittings just after it released. It's a funny game with a great sense of humor, and there's plenty of game here; I clocked in at about 10-12 hours for my first playthrough. I went into this game totally blind. In a short intro, we…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This one could have literally come out in 1989 and be regarded a stone-cold classic today. Brilliant, twisted fun for any fellow T-Rexes jonesing for a proper hit of comedy adventure.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wow, old school comedy point'n'clicker that's actually quite funny. Mostly thanks to the adorable sociopath jerk of a hero with really, really weird secret in the basement. But also thanks to the fact devs didn't suffer from complete deficiency of ideas, as is way too common in this genre. They, for example, managed to fit whole game to just one (big and changing, but still) location and it works great - it makes the story pleasantly focused and condensed. Dancing on the edge of popculture…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not Another Weekend has Leisure Suit Larry level humor, challenging puzzles, a retro pixelart style and a horror-themed twist. What more can a point & click fan ask for? I enjoyed the checklist type goals which were satisfying to complete and encountered over a dozen silly characters that are well-developped and full of personality (not always charming!). Check it out if you love point & click puzzle-solving adventure games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A long point 'n' click of respectable difficulty (I found myself legitimately stumped a couple of times) in which Mike the bellboy, in anticipation of some mysterious and personally significant event, makes an oath to expel every guest and employee from Hotel 404. Parody is obviously a big part of the humor, but it's done right; not content to simply parade their pop culture stand-ins for a few rounds of cheap applause, the devs jump their mutant children through unexpected hoops and thread…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game falls in that rare group of games that are "better than they have any right to be" My first impression was of a game that will be cute and funny for a little while but probably shallow and not really immersive. I couldn't have been more wrong. The creators have pulled off the feat of including so much referential humor in this game and make it work perfectly, while also telling a funny but captivating enough story to want to see it to the end. And this is no easy storytelling…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Find 80’s nostalgia, silliness and lots of humor in this entertaining (but sinister!) point’n’click. You start as Mike Melkout – a bellboy in the local 6-star hotel. Considering 6-star rating, it has lots of high-profile guests from reclusive writers to singers wanting their career back on track to forgotten wrestlers with big egos, and then some. Sounds fun if you’re a guest, sure, but not so fun when you’re a bellboy. The rest of the stuff is either irritated with everything or cruising on…

unlabelledView post →This game shows promise for a first-time developer, and I'll be interested to see if they can build on that and improve in their next game. Good writing mostly, some interesting puzzles, original basis for a story, good characters. But Not Another Weekend just isn't a well designed game, making playing it a PIAT. The key problem is that you repeatedly, over and over again, have a vague list of tasks and only a general idea (if that) of what you need to do to advance them. Or, at times, no…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very entertaining good game ! I felt reminded of the good old point n click games and at the same time enjoyed smooth gameplay. It is a rather long adventure with nice puzzles and I loved these (partly) weird chars - had a lot of fun with them. A weird and very enjoyable story - all in all, I love(d) the game. Highly recommended
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was lucky enough to playtest this game and absolutely loved it! Even though there are no voice overs, the comic timing with the dialogue is on-point and the whole theme of the game is just hilarious. Great work from everyone involved. Not only is it a great laugh, it's also really generous in terms of playtime. it took me over 14 hours to complete (although some of the new post-test additions like instant-travel between scenes would probably have helped to reduce my embarrasingly-long…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I Have been playing this game for a while now because I was fortunate to be one of the testers before it even got to steam. Its an old-school, point-n-click, pixel-art, adventure game through and through with a great sense of humour steeped in 80's nostalgia for both the adventure game genre and the decade as a whole. I recommend it wholeheartedly!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall, an enjoyable point & click adventure game with a good amount of content despite limited number of locations. Got some Leisure Suit Larry 6 vibes in there. Two issues I have with it are: - Hints given for some of the puzzles are just too strong and could be categorized more as "solutions" than "hints". When a character pretty much tells you how you are supposed to solve a puzzle, than any satisfaction you would normally get from figuring it out on your own is gone. I don't mind there…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very fun point and click adventure! It took me a little while to get into this game, but in the end, I really enjoyed it. It was a bit slow to get going and I wasn’t immediately taken with Mike, the main character. But as I kept playing the story started progressing faster and I became more invested in ridding this hotel of all its staff and occupants. Mouse only, mostly left clicks with some limited right clicking needed to read documents and get more detailed descriptions. Manual…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoyed this game. Being a Hotel employee, a kid in the 80's and loving adventure games, this game ticked all the boxes for me. Humor, mystery, suspense, plot twists, fun characters and loads of puzzles! It seems to me that great care was taken during the development and i was pleasantly surprised by the themes and the soundtrack!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an extremely underappreciated game. Great art style, decent puzzles, interesting characters, and a very funny storyline. What more do you need? Great job, developers! Till next time, don't forget to point & click!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you are a fan of adventure games you can't really pass up on this. It's quirky, funny and really crazy. The graphics are all over the place but consistently so, so its unique style really works.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Maniac Mansion meets Leisure Suit Larry Check into the Hotel 404 for more wacky, zany, and ribald shenanigans than you can shake a stick at! Maximum adventure game silliness with a comically sinister mystery to uncover!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If the names Leisure Suit Larry, Maniac Mansion and Zak McKracken mean anything to you, you'll probably really like Not Another Weekend. It's a classic point-and-click adventure, with moderately challenging puzzles and some funny moments, drowning in pop culture references to 80s movies and pop culture. Best played over the course of a weekend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was among the beta testers of this game and well, what can I say? The art style is a funky, pixelated, dorky mess, as is almost mandatory for a good Point & Click adventure. The characters are equally dorky and fun to interact with and lead through the plot with witty humor and engaging dialogue. The soundtrack is so great, I sometimes had the game run in the background as I was working on assignments. The story of this game meets the exact sweet spot between hillarious and creepy, making it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This reminds me I still need to play "Mutants Ate My Carrots"! It must be good, @dionous.bsky.social published it, and the other five are great games too, especially "Not Another Weekend"; loved that crazy hotel game...
unlabelledView post →"Not Another Weekend" started it all for me: a call for testers, I answered, had a blast, tested some more games, then got my official reviewer job after sharing playthrough posts on social media. But it's an awesomely funny game in itself, so do your face muscles a favor, go play it and laugh away!

Well, here you can show him. Get rid of all the Guests and other Employees by making their visit and work even more miserable and then become Boss yourself. That´s your Goal. You have tons of References to your loved and maybe less loved 80`s Idols. Not the usual Storytelling, the more you progress the weirder it gets, but in a good and fun way. Straight…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A comedic adventure game set in a hotel with lots of 80s references. Puzzles are mostly logical or well telegraphed, but there is at least one which requires knowledge of english idioms and lateral moon logic thinking like the monkey wrench puzzle in Monkey Island. Sometimes it's also unclear which task should be completed first and is actually blocking other tasks from completion, but the steam guide section has a guide with spoiler free hints for all puzzles. No voice acting, but since it's a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A strange little adventure game filled with 80s pop culture references. It's like a point and click B-movie!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved the game. The story is hilarious and every time you think it can't get any weirder, something else happens. I really enjoyed driving all the people out of the hotel. The difficulty level is easy. I was able to play straight through, only got stuck at one point. But actually, if you pay attention to what the characters say, you get a good idea of what to do next. For someone who wants a challenge and good puzzles to solve, it is too easy. But if you just want to have a good time and…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I totally recommend this game. The puzzles are logical and not too easy nor too hard, except one of two of them. The story is brilliant, the many characters are well built, the graphics and the music are remarkable. I like the fact that the inventory is always open to be seen all the time and the map is very useful. Too bad I realized the shortcuts there almost at the end of the game xD Set in the 80's, with famous references and all the elements of a good graphic adventure. At first you might…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Earlier this year I had the chance to be a beta-tester for a new point 'n click graphic adventure game, "Not Another Weekend" by Dionous Games. I've already proofread books before publication, so this was a great opportunity to do something similar with another favorite passtime of mine, so I jumped on it immediately. The version I played had some hiccups, of course, but I'm going to replay this game soon, because I want to see what the polished product looks like. My first playthrough took me…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loved this retro-style point and click. Try and clear the hotel of all guests and staff over a weekend. Most of the puzzles are fetch quests (appropriate for a bellboy). The hotel changes each section, some rooms are accessible at different times, and guests move around. It took about 11hrs first try, when I got stuck, it was best to check every room and object you can. All the characters are parodies of 80s pop culture icons, with lots of great jokes. Highly recommended!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Such a fun game! I had a great time playing it. Loved the art style and the puzzles. The biggest surprize was the credits tho! I had no idea all the creators of the game are Greek. How did I miss that Koumiotis made art for a point and click adnventure I have no idea! Looking forward to play more games by them.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't remember enjoying a game so much in 20 years besides Thimbleweed Park and Nine Witches. Great puzzles, great characters, great humor. You can tell it's a masterpiece when you're stuck and you are glad you are stuck. Better than Maniac Mansion!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Heard about this and immediately purchased based on the trailer. Had a great time, cheated a bit, but I really just wanted to see what had been accomplished with Visionaire studio package for non coders. Impressed. Very fun gameplay, excellent hidden achievements, comedy writing was spot on and not over the top or bloated and a story with a few twists and turns. Had me stumped a few times but never frustratingly so. One puzzle others seem to have found bizarre seemed common sense to me, but…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do you love Point & Click adventure games? Do you delight in an affable anti-hero and humorous, fourth-wall breaking dialogue with loads of pop culture references? Did you enjoy the original Maniac Mansion on the NES (or era-appropriate 80s personal computers?) If you answered 'Yes' to any of the above, you need to play this game. At least try the demo. What can only be described as a fully-fledged "Classic 'Point & Click' Adventure (circa 1989) Homage," is pure retro gaming gold. To…

unlabelledView post →Not Another Weekend, developed by Animatic Vision and Dead Blue Friends and published by Dionous Games, is a quirky point-and-click adventure that embraces the spirit of classic titles while making a conscious effort to smooth out some of the genre’s more frustrating edges. Set entirely within the walls of Hotel 404, the game places you in the shoes of Mike Melkout, a socially awkward bellboy with a strange and increasingly questionable objective: to clear the hotel of every guest and staff…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →3/5 Not Another Weekend is an overrated game and I have to give it a "thumbs down" as a warning to people who will NOT like this game. While the nostalgia for games they don't make anymore is strong enough to make gamers of a certain vintage have a decent time playing the game, it's not "good". And, more than this, about 25% of the "puzzles" are actively bad. This is a game that breaks the contract with players fairly early that puzzles shouldn't be "stupid". You should play this game with a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I didn't find the simple writing engaging. The puzzles are linear, you can only do one thing at a time, but the hotel is huge, so you end up walking back and forth a ton even when you kinda know what's coming later.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game! The first three quarters was hilarious and a *lot* of fun, loved every minute of it. The last quarter, as in the surreal, lovecraftian part was not my thing though. Every puzzle was trial-and-error, the script fell off the hinges and the ending was just too dark to match the rest of the game. I get that they managed to shoehorn a lot more horror movie references this way, but it was to the game's detriment.. So yeah. Mostly brilliant, but ultimately just above average.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a real hidden gem! I found it delightful, all the way through. The characters were quirky, the tasks were interesting, and the solutions were satisfying. I would buy a sequel to this game without hesitation.

You play a downtrodden bellboy who has to empty the hotel of guests and staff for a nefarious plan. Puzzles are fair, if quite easy, there's a wide variety of different, oddball characters and in general a lot to like. I played through in about 7 hours. My main issue with the game is how linear it is. Despite have a full hotel of 20 guests and staff to get…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an absolute delight to play! If you love Lucas Arts-like point&click adventure games, you will most certainly enjoy this one. It's colorful, it's funny, it's creative, filled with so many pop culture references, and offers really good and clever puzzles. It's worth its full price! Support the makers of this game, they deserve all the praise!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thoroughly enjoyed this strange and seemingly never-ending game. Was a good amount of silliness combined with some interesting puzzles. Walk-through did help in some parts just to get through some sections. Certainly worth what I'd paid. Thank you very much and looking forward to new games from you in the future.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent homage to classic adventure games and 80's-90's culture. The puzzles weren't too easy but never too hard, just a nice delicate balance. Would recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not Another Weekend is a good choice if you’re into the old point & click games from the 80s and 90s. I wasn’t 100% convinced at first, but it really grew on me. There’s just so many newer point & click games that tries to capture the feel of the old ones that it has become a bit difficult for all of them to stand out, but it slowly convinced me more and more that this is a very solid and unique game. The game is set in a cheap hotel in 80s, and you play as Mike, the bellboy who hates his job…
