I've been a huge fan of tamagotchi, digimon, and virtual pets in general for about 20 years... For something that is meant to sit on the side of your window and keep passive cute company, nanomon is way too needy, demands constant attention, and constantly asks you to play little minigames... Which I could close an eye for, but my little guy died after I went afk for *one hour* (I left it with full stats, safe at home). If it is meant to require your full attention constantly, then it really…

I am *in love* with this game. I honestly don't know why there aren't more Tamagotchi-type clones out there, especially an idler like this. When I do find pet care games like this, I feel like they're always missing something; they need you to pay attention to them at all times, or there aren't enough variants to collect, or there aren't any mini games to play to keep yourself and your pet entertained -- just something every time. Nanomon feels like the first one to actually understand why…

Its a game about having a cute lil Tamagotchi that will straight up die no matter what you do. Even though they're digital, death comes for them all. Anyway, I really don't need more dead pets in my life. Unfortunate.

I really fell in love with this game, and I tend to get attached to my silly virtual pets. Unfortunately, no matter what you do, your pet will eventually die. For me, this feels unmotivating and makes the experience a bit pointless. That said, I absolutely love the gameplay, design, and creativity behind the game. If they ever add a feature that allows pets to live longer through good care, I’d happily update this review. But as it stands now, it’s ultimately unsatisfying. I understand the…

Warning: Your nanomon will *die* once it is fully evolved. Yes, even though this is a virtual pet raising game, you will not be able to keep your pet alive past a certain point. It will just die and be replaced by another one. Talk about depressing. It would have been so simple to just move your older pets to a "retired" area or something, but nope. Of course, none of this is mentioned anywhere on the store's page or the in-game guide. I wouldn't have made the mistake of buying the game if I…

I like the game well enough but you really have to be able to turn off the feature where your nanomon die, I bought it because I thought I could keep one slugcat pet in the corner of my screen forever as a tamagotchi (I'm certain I spelled that wrong) but after a pretty damn short time your nanomon just... die. which sucks.

It feels weird to be writing this, but this game takes TOO MUCH focus. It's supposed to be a cute game that runs in the bottom of your screen while you work, except your pet is constantly pooping or fighting and dying or there are events happening every minute or two that you need to check on. This isn't what I wanted.

A solid v-pet with map exploration that has a slight rogue-like touch. Comes with enjoyable quirks & secrets. It's too demanding to be a desktop buddy or an idler however, so keep that in mind. Imo it's worth getting. Deeper dive below. Pros: Character design. Finally, a v-pet that isn't filled with boring blobs, cats, kawaii animals, or Eevee-clones! Instead, Nanomon has actual fun creatures to rise. From cute sharks and funny pirate pizzas, to weird sword-stabbed guys or biblicaly…

Super Cute Pets! Disappointing Gameplay Loop The game is very charming and enjoyable for a good few hours, and it's fun to have in the background if you're doing simple work at your computer or just want to pass time. There are various neat encounters when exploring the nanoverse, and it's definitely worth a try if you like virtual pet games and see yourself enjoying the vibes of this one! Still, I personally don't see myself playing this after I 100% the achievements, due to the monotony of…

A first look: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJu-WkrLj3M I’ll be back with a better review at some point after more hours in, but I already wanted to show my early support, and I’m carefully going to give it a thumbs up, at least for now. And tbh I doubt I’ll change it to a downer, but you never know, right? At the moment, I’m absolutely in love with this delightful throwback to the Tamagotchi age! Great game. I love the gameplay loop, design and it feels smooth and well made. As many others mentioned your pet will die. I prefer them not to die, but I could live pass it because I love the game. I have been playing it for one day and it's already dead. I don't want to be playing a new pet everyday :(. Would 100% redownload if pets didn't die or at least lasted longer then a day.

I really wanted to like this game. I have been a fan of the VPETs to which this game pays homage since their inception. However, there are just too many flaws that hold this game back. The primary issue I had while playing was the implementation of the mini-games. I like the idea of having mini-games to train your monster and add to the interactivity of the VPET, but these mini-games are poorly done. It feels less like skill and more like luck determining success. The input lag causes issues…

If you're feeling nostalgic for tamagotchi like games I think it's worth the purchase. Edit: Okay so I've played the game for almost 30 hours now. There is only one real complaint I have as of now. I don't mind a death mechanic in the game, I mean the game is inspired from tamagotchi. I just wish it wasn't tied into leveling up. I don't want my nanomons to die from leveling up after I spent so much time on them. But I still recommend the game because it's still fun... just really hate that one…

Started the game excited about having something like good old Tamagotchi. I don't remember a lot, but one thing that remained was how easy these things die. It should be easy and low maintenance since it is more of a thing to run on the side. My first Nanomon sent me a letter and walked away from being in my care. The second one grew up to be a little shark and then died at the end. It is a bit sad that there is no way we can get them back once they are gone. Another thing is that the…

I never write steam reviews, but here we are. It’s like Tamagotchi meets a lo-fi idler— but just packed with so much charm and none of the frustration. The creature designs are weirdly adorable, and every aspect feels handcrafted with love and attention to detail. This game was clearly made with heart, and I can’t recommend it enough. I'm sure this will quickly become a most played game for me and it deserves every hour. If you had Tamagotchi as a kid, this is an instant must-play. 10/10

If you enjoyed Tamagotchi, Digimon, and the many other V-pet devices of yesteryear you're going to have a great time here. It is basically a modernized version of this experience with a modern interface, graphics, and animations. For a more in depth first impression, the game does a great job of replicating the traditional V-pet style. You feed your pet, monitor its stats and attributes, and take it on a quest mode to find items, play minigames, and interact and battle with other nanomon. The…

Really could not decide whether I would recommend this or not, it has a lot of good things but also a lot of not great. First, the gameplay loop. Fun for a while, but I felt like I saw basically the whole loop within the first 10 hours and the first pet I raised found so many random events that I beat the game within its lifespan. For a game with the number of pets this game has it felt ridiculously short, like the game was playing itself too fast for me to even be able to see a second pet…

TLDR; Game is good, not really and idle game but overall fun. Ok now for the nitty gritty, The game needs too much interaction to be considered an idle game, if you don't interact with your game for an extended period of time there is a good chance your Nanomon will leave. The game sits in an awkward position where it doesnt require enough interaction to be an engaging game and doent allow you to idle enough to be an idler. Other than this the game is fun and has a bunch of…

Kinda buggy with abilities, lots of rules about the game are unclear but you also have to wait to unlock them. The game has lots of potential but it might take awhile to become realized. Unless the fanbase grows and more modders show up to add more mini games, the base virtual pet is all you get. Which wouldn't be a downside without bugs and lots of unknowns about the game's future. Overall I like it but the above statements say I dont recommend buying it. In the game's defense, the dev is…

Do you like V-Pets? Well this game is for you. I've played countless desktop V-Pet games and this one by far is my favorite. I love how the little guy sits there on the screen and it isn't intrusive like some others can be. The creatures are designed well, the game feels nice and simple but has some complexity there. The overall feel of the game is just a 10/10 and the soundtrack keeps you fully invested. Thanks for making one of my dream games!

Cons - I find the price to be high for the amount of content. It's nice It's like a Digimon vpet on your PC The roster is pretty small but so is the game, so it's not that bad; you'll probably see all of the game before getting half of the goobers you can get They die permanently, I guess it sucks if you're not used to, but I think restarting is part of the fun of Vpets, and the game is perfectly balanced around that so it never feels like "damn, my guy died, now I'm stuck"

The art, music, pet designs, and gameplay loop are all amazing, and I would love this game if not for one problem I have. I found that this game requires too much attention for it to run in the background while I do different task, but not enough going on to put my focus on it. I am a sucker for a virtual pet game, and this one is no exception. The thing about Pokemon knock-offs is: I love all of them way more than I love Pokemon. I found this game by stalking the Creature Collector tag and buying on sale. I do not remember how much I paid for it. But every moment I've spent in this one is a delight. What gets me is the mechanics are so welcoming. Yes, it's real time. Kind of. But it's also mostly an idle game. Which means if I need a bunch of fictional little…

The game is simply too repetitive. You start off as a slime then grow into a theme and then another them to mix and combine or keep the same theming and eventually die and start all over again. Honestly, I wouldn't have minded if it takes a decent amount of time before your character dies, but if you keep it constantly running, I feel your character dies 2 or 3 times in one day. Plus the stats don't carry over whatsoever so it feels you're going to have to keep growing new pets everytime! Maybe…

Nanomon Virtual Pet, developed by Oscar Brittain and published by Akupara Games, reimagines the classic virtual pet concept in a way that feels both nostalgic and quietly modern. Instead of confining the experience to a dedicated game window, it lives alongside your everyday computer use, occupying a small space on your desktop and evolving in real time as you go about other tasks. This design choice defines the entire experience, turning the game into something less like a traditional time…

I do like this game, but it's quite bare bones for what it is- especially compared to older virtual pets like it, like digimon and tomagochi's. It's meant to be quite a small, cute thing for your desktop, and it does achieve that with flying colors- I do feel like to be a truly fun game and to capture it's full potental it'll need about double the content it currently has. As of right now, it's a quirky little project, and I like it's charm, attitude, and generally the systems at play, but…

Yeah, it's nice. Love experimenting with all the food. Only gripe I can give is that it's difficult to get to the ends of the map, even if your 'mon is evolved. To make it a daily thing even while your progress gets reset every time they die makes it a bit harder, too.

Charmed by the trailer, I picked this game up and admit it felt a little bit confusing at first. You get thrown in (and I did read the entire manual), and start adventuring. I couldn't help but feel a little bit lost as to what to spend my meat on in the first playthrough and wound up starting over because I think I lost too much gambling/paying people for nothing/etc. It seems tough for a beginner to know whether or not to spend resources early on. That being said, the animations and sound…
