It gets annoying when you don't get the stones/cards you need and you are e.g. lvl 12 and get killed by sth lvl 10. Also, the regeneration bonus is ridiculous. 4hp in 1500 hp (lvl 15) every few seconds? Start another game, go out , watch a movie or read a book while you heal, because if you go b to base, all the creatures respawn. Apart from some serious lag…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this back in beta through its release, its great to see it released again. Its diablo'esq with a card deck system. Its an older game (2010) but its got some fun stuff to do and the cards offer some great customization. Its cheap fun and worth a play through. The pvp is actually really fun once you get a decent set of cards ("stones").
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the only game I have asked for a refund on. The game is more suited to single player as the server was dead when I played. Also its more of an on rails game than an mmo with freedom. There was lag during gameplay which I saw no reason for as no one else seemed to be online. If the game took away the need for an internet connection and launched itself as a single player game then I would recommend it but as it is I can not. If the devs closed the server you would be left with a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game when it available for a limited time several years ago. The game is a bargin at $4.99. The core mechanics are really interesting. Odd combination of deck-building, RPG and some RTS elements. I am not aware of anything quite like this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The co-op part is good, after an instance (zone) is complete you can go to the hub where you can buy items, forge better stones and sell/buy stuff in a mini auction house. +1
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8QqVr_gu2w Mytheon is a very traditional "MMORPG" experience. However, there is no community in the server. My whole 20-30 minutes searching for some signs of life were to no avail. The game feels very dated and plays like an MMORPG game from the early 2000s. This to me was great as I missed that feeling and grabbed a lot of nostalgia playing the game. The games controls were real simple and you could do everything you needed to with just the mouse.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Imbalanced Classes, no customization upon level up. Shallow loot system. Unfair Difficulty. Shoddy design. The one redeeming quality about this game is the novel "deck building" mechanic, which is neat. However, there needs to be much improvement in this to make this a game worth playing. 3/10 would be forced to be a summoner or die again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This review may be a bet lengthy, but only because all is not as it appears. I will include a TL;DR for all your "helmet-wearing, crayon eating, Mommy's little snowflake types". First and foremost, this is most definitely an MMO in the vein of an instanced dungeon-crawler. (Think Path of Exile/Diablo 2-3, etc.) The game is based upon mythology ranging from Ancient Greece to Egypt (Though that content has yet to be launched, the ability to access the NPC to go to the hub is in-game.) Instead…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Take Titan's Quest, Torchlight, and M:TG and make it an MMO and you would have something very close to Mytheon. The combat system is like no other MMO however. Basically you collect stones (think of them as cards in a deck) and build your rotation with the stones you've collected. There are many possibilities and a good amount of random chance which keeps combat interesting. It's a nice change of pace to have to think on your toes in an MMO.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really cool idea, but there's some real huge issues with it. -Requires servers: Sure they've randomly turned back on after being offline for years, but there is no reason for FORCED always online. Plus who wants lag when playing alone. -Input lag: Actions are really delayed. Combat doesn't feel great. -Regen is very slow. Get a book out because there can be a lot of downtime as you level up. -No UI scaling. Like most old games this game could look great, but changing to high resolution…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not entirely sure what the Dev's were going for here, but I guess the best way to review this game is to say "I just didn't understand their direction." Mytheon is an ARPG with Tactical Elements, that is an MMO (with no community whatsoever), that doesn't have much action, and has clunky controls. The graphics are SEVERELY dated, the controls are rigid and unfriendly, the combat is lack luster and boring, and the dialogue/story is generic and does nothing to draw you in. I can't recommend…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →dont wast your time on this one only one server and no people playing it. dead game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome to see Mytheon back alive :) ! Played the open beta got hooked, then it got taken down. Anyway give this a go! After the first 2-3 levels I get the the Diablo II loot hunting addiction.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is alot of fun,if you like Magic +WOW=Mytheon.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't get why this game has so many positive comments about how it's crazy fun, I found it really sluggish and unexciting.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game does not load, do not spend any money on this game, Devs hand abandoned it years ago. This is not a playable version of the beta 10 years ago or even the re-release in 2016, no content can be played here. You have been warned.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →randomly getting "Avatar data failed to load." while its loading a location. I guess its dead and abandoned , wish they did offline mode
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →add offline mode plz
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not worth it 4/10 I gave it a fair chance but cannot recommend. Mytheon was a failed F2P mmo, rebadged as a paid for ARPG, its too old and clunky, and its virtually impossible to solo most of the bosses unless you greatly out level them. Only about 4-5 active players, and you need to connect and re connect every time you zone. Honestly I enjoyed Lesabel more than this, (and that game got slammed when its actually quite fun, and often less than £1.00) Avoid this one.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mytheon is an aRPG MMO that is so close to being a great game. The systems are all pretty cool, from the deckbuilder-like way it gives you a rotating set of spells from a larger set, to the way that you get combos and affinity bonuses for having certain spells running at once. You manage direct attacks and minions, balancing your deck both during the construction of it, and the management of it while in combat, trying to make sure you can summon allies when you need but also have attack spells…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like M:TG and Diablo/Path of Exile, then this game is for you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Logging into a server is broken. Fails on the first try every time and it's not immediate. You sit there staring at the screen waiting before a login failure message pops up. Works the second time however but very annoying.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After a confusing first few minutes, this turned into a surprisingly addictive and incredibly fun few weeks for a friend and me. I never would have thought that deck building and action RPG could work together so well. Probably the biggest problem is that the major bosses seem to be balanced for a full group, and 1 or 2 players have almost no hope, at least not until their decks are rather polished. But the positives far outweigh the negatives. I love that you can put an increasing number…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played Mytheon back when it was released in the Beta format around 5-6 years ago and I loved it. Despite my horrid internet connection back then I found myself pouring hours and hours into the mythical world this game presented to me and now, 5 years down the line I was beyond ecstatic to see that the game was getting a re-release on Steam and bought it as soon as I was able. Delving back into the game after all this time I was hit by a wave of nostalgia when I was presented with an…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game for the purchase price. It is an interesting take on group-RTS-RPGs.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Playing in 2023, server is working fine for me with no issues at all. As i saw many older reviews saying they had issues. An older game that has some unique elements to it, played it trough with friends with various classes. so far its been a blast. Highly reccomend Warcaster for new players or solo players, as with enough dedication figuring out the best combos for your class. You can and will be able to complete the game solo. Enjoyed the lack of info on the game as much had to be figured…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →IT REQUIRES CONNECTION TO A SERVER THAT DOSENT WORK WELL IT SHOWS THAT THE SERVER IS RUNNING BUT I NEVER GET CONNECTED TO IT THIS IS A SCAM FOR THIS GAME TO BE EVEN SOLD
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty useless and boring game. Don't waste your time or money on it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can`t tell you how pleased I am that this game has been brought back to life! Because Mytheon is a good old-fashioned RPG, which includes two cool moments: Greek and Egyptian Mythologies like in Titan Quest and unique upgrades of characters.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best $4.00 game I ever got!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What an absolute oddity of a game this is. As I understand it Mytheon was originally an MMO but now it just works as a completely single player game with a fake server that is just for show and it is played entirely on your own PC. The basic premise is pretty much Age of Mythology/ Titan Quest Greek mythology. It borrows a summoning type mechanic that reminds me of the earliest Spellforce games other than that it has no real story outside of the aforementioned mythological backdrop. It's not…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →when i was playing every time i had to enter a new region or location. My character didn't wanted to load so i was returned to character selection screen.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I requested a refund on this game. For me, it is difficult to grasp how to play the game, other than the very basic press this number, does damage. There is no one in game, and at that there is only one server. I wouldn't advise someone to purchase a game with this few people unless they are trying to play this 100% on their own and never even touch PVP. It is not worth th $4.99 discount price, let along the $9.99 normal price.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought the game and could not even connect the server once to play. I saw in the reviews that this is a common problem. Bummer. Was hoping for something like Titan Quest :(. How hard can it be to keep a simple game like this and it's ONE server stable?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good idea......BUT the lag is REAL. server side response time is horrible... there are a total of 4 people in the world playing it at any 1 time..if it was on sale for 99% off..sure thing. But as is, without a client base as an INTERNET ONLY game...its horrible
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this in the beta days. I was sad to see it get decommissioned! When I saw it pop up on steam, I purchased right away. Good price, and the game is as fun as I remember. It also seems they will be adding more content! I just wish there was a way to play offline.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →4/10 sadly this game is dead
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game way back in 2010, but there is one empty server now, and loading up a location has a 70% chance to end up on the "Character failed to load" screen, which boots you back to character select. Unplayable as it is right now.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Never managed to play it. The game demands to be played online and it is dead. Another 0.5 euros wasted
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not sure what to be more pissed at .Owning a game that doen't work or the fact STEAM is still selling a game plus DLC that doesnt work!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great Game! Collect Stones and Armor and use them in the correct combination to conquer your enemies. A lot of bugs for sure. Some that make it almost unbearable Such as logging in. It will on average of five attempts to get your char to it's destination. First Log in fail, Server Fail, Char Fail, and Zone Fail twice. After that your are playing a online game solo. You might see a person but can't talk except through Mail system. There are other chat channels set up but they are broken over…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Barely can play with this... after I bought the game I only could play about 20 minutes because of disconnection........................
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game has very nice graphics. Gameplay is great at the beginning, then foes too quickly become harder and harder while you're only a bit stronger while your level is growing; overall very unbalanced. It may needs cooperation to get through the game when it becomes harder but that can't apply for this game which has very low number of active players. The biggest downfall of this game is its very badly unstable connection. I found it's hard to get connected to game server right at the game…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an interesting game. Seems to be a mix of a light MMO and an ARPG. So, somewhat like Titan Quest with MMO elements. Based on the date when it first came out, some dude in another game was already offing the Greek gods, but still... Gameplay is amusing, the backgrounds beautiful, and the plot interesting. Worth getting the bundle.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →haha Well..just no. Feels like I'm filming a movie or sumthn micro manage the camera and ur character. I mean its cheap but..It didn't satisfy the hole Goodluck to the game maybe they can improve on it in a next sequel or whatever
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →oaw danggg i tought this game can be played offline :'(
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mytheon is an interesting multiplayer ORPG that has aspects of Diablo, Torchlight and other older action RPGs. It is marketed as an MMORPG yet there is literally no other players. I tied the week peak player count by myself merely by being the 1 player logged in. There are some interesting mechanics here including the stones system. However, an MMORPG with a playercount averaging less than 1.0 concurrent players is hardly worth playing. It definitely isn't worth paying for.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a 10 year old Diablo ripoff MMORPG with an ancient Greek theme. Click around and fight monsters if you can log onto the only server that's still up and running. Obviously Diablo style ARPGs and MMORPGs are a great concept, but here, this is a poor entry in a non-empty marketplace. The controls are a bit clunky. The game isn't well balanced. There's no players, for an online multiplayer game, that relies on those players to work, so this is fundamentally broken as a result. It's…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can't even do anything in the game as it constantly tells me "failed to load avatar data" and dumps me back at character select. Wasted money.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Reminded me of Diablo. Couldn't get excited about the combat. Look, a monster. Kill him. What's that ahead? Oh, another monster just like the last. Too much reading required to start. I don't buy games to read.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super great game!! Hope more ppl will play it! Dev can do some promo...?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is great! i played it when it orignally launched and i was sad to see it shut down. One thing that would be great is if you could play it offline too! also a play with a friend via lan would be a nice offline idea
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very bad graphics
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a rather shallow game and very typical of online hack'n'slashers... and they call it a rpg... I think they don't know what role-playing is and they are confusing Role-Playing Game with Real Power Gaming. Anyways, the randomness of the spells makes it impossible to make a strategy and it sucks royally. I'm refunding this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Things I like: - Abilities work a bit like in card games: At any time you will have a number of random abilities(stones) available for use, taken from your "deck"(stone collection). - Lots of quests to do - Barrels to smash - Boss monsters - Character controls are easy/comfortable - Moderate amount of loot, of various types and gear slots - Recycling of "stones" you don't use. - Auction house. Things I don't like: - Nothing seems to happen when you level up. Disappointing. - No zooming in on…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mytheon is a Hack and Slash MMO RPG with strategy elements set in ancient greece with evil gods and courageous heroes. You play one of these heroes and your goal is to defeat the gods. TLDR: - Gameplay may feel stiff/boring at first, but when playing a little longer with more challanging situations the strategy in the game comes out better. The stones collections, towers, companions and abilities certainly make a nice mix to play with. Shame there are few people though. - graphics are okay…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game back then during the beta and the release and I'm really happy to see it again repackaged as a buy 2 play. The game itself is a little bit clunky but I swear that it's really fun to play with friends. Do yourself a favour and throw some bucks at the devs :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game when first launched, loved it then. Was excited to see it again graphics are good game play is good soloability is decent, final boss mobs are tough ussually need atleast a duo to kill, its much easier to lvl with a group anyway. I read they have an expansion near done from previous, so my fingers are crossed there is more interest here on steam. throw 5 dollars at it, u wont be disappointed.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty neat little game, with some elements from strategy, RPG and card collection games. Graphics is far from state of the art, but for the price tag of around 5€, it's definitely ok. It is a bit grind heavy, with only Kill/Collect-Quests, but very fun to play in coop with friends!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A nice slow Titan Quest-like Hack and Slash. Big on Greek Mythology. Should run smoothly on most systems. Powers are linked to stones you use to summon creatures and constructs that aid your avatar. So there is a sort of deckbuilding edge when it comes to characterbuilding. Given the lower price well worth picking up. It's solo-able with a bit of grinding and should shine in co-op. Given the low price and the discounts on steam, no reason not to support the return of this little game.
