My Night Job
Developer Webcore Games
My Night Job sends players into an abandoned building and sicks hordes of monsters on them. They can use more than 60 weapons to defend themselves and save as many survivors as possible. But beware – if too many rooms are thrashed, the end may be nigh-er than you originally thought. From the Steam store page

56 of 56 · most liked firstMy Night Job is a fast-paced side-scrolling arcade game that combines elements of comedy, horror and action into a challenging yet entertaining experience. I would, however, wait for a discount before purchasing this game. The game starts w/ a very funny introduction on how the character got this “job” and you take things from there (if it is your first time playing, there will be a small tutorial). The objectives are simple enough: do not let the mansion get destroyed and rescue 100 people.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you think I missed something in my review feel free to tell me My Night Job My Night Job is a tribute to the classics of horror and is a nice paying occupation if you somehow live through the job. I will add a TL;DR at the end. Gameplay My Night Job is fairly simple as your goal is to save 100 survivors from an abandoned mansion as you are also trying to make sure you do not die and hope that the mansion is not destroyed by its monstrous guests. Do this by using various…

Basically, you're dropped just outside of some big mansion, filled with respawning monsters and "civilians", as well as some items you can use as weapons - from umbrellas and chairs to gas baloons and everyone's favourite - the Chainsaw! In short, you beat monsters, gather people and led them to rescue (helipads on the edges of the mansion). For each rescue you collect some goodness, like…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →NOTE: I was supplied with this key by the developer, this however did not affect the review. All my developer sponsored reviews are positive because I review games that I like! Intro My Night Job is a side-scroller beat’em up taking place in a gigantic mansion filled with a variety of different monsters. Your goal is to lead as many survivors you find throughout the mansion to evacuation points while staying alive. When too many monsters accumulate inside a room, they start stomping and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My Night Job is a beat 'em up sidescroller with retro graphics, fast paced gameplay and an enjoyable soundtrack. In My Night Job you find yourself in an old abandoned mansion which is slowly being taken over by hordes of the undead (and other little nasties). Your job is to stop the mansion from becoming overrun by the zombiesque creatures whilst finding and escorting survivors to safety via a helicopter. The gameplay itself is very fun if not a little on the basic side; you'll find various…

I absolutely loved My Night Job from the moment I first installed it and began playing. Something about running through a mansion slaughtering wave after wave of creatures using every type of weapon imaginable just comes across as fun. I loved the numerous…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My Night Job is a side-scrolling beat'em up confirmed in pixel graphic style and horror environment. Here you will find yourself in a mansion filled with a lot of different monsters and people what you should escape. So here you have for example a more goal in same time, for example: release 100 people, dont let "destroy " the mansion and after that when you release a 100 people, blow up a mansion. The game control is enough good, you can do this ones here: move left or right, can jump,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While watching tv late at night our protagonist sees an ad for a night job, the money is good and he signs up right away: said job consists of saving 100 survivors from an house full of monsters before placing explosives to blow everything up. My Night Job is a very quirky game with perfect art style, frantic beat'em up action and a lot of humour thrown in for good measure: it's very fun to play but sadly doesn't have alot of content going for it. PROS: -the pixelated art is truly great…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When I first saw My Night Job on Steam I immediately had a throwback to the old days when I used to spend hours playing on arcade machines, particularly Metal Slug. At its core the game is a pretty simple 2D beat 'em up sidescroller, however, that doesn’t make it any less fun and engaging than other, more complex, beat ‘em ups. There isn’t really a story to the game per say, you only have this introductory cutscene with no dialogue that shows your character applying for a night job in some…

It's your job to guide the people to the helicopters while also stopping the demons from destroying the building + The environment has an insane level of detail, each room seems to have a different theme with lots of different animations and silly things like a naked dancing zombie + TONS of weapons,…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →April seems to have been in many ways a retro month here on Steamified. A number of the games that we’ve featured have been throw backs to gaming and culture’s past. Games such as Holodrive, IS Defense and many more. Today I am pleased to feature My Night Job that has been developed by Webcore Games and published by bitComposer Interactive. Webcore Games is a division of Webcore, interactive solutions agency, that has been operating since 1999. As such they have a large library of games with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Greetings fellow Gamers! This is Gamer Guy (In a Suit) back with a review for another indie title. Today I have brought along a neat little gem known as My Night Job. My Night Job can best be described as an indie-action game, but there are some neat little surprises along the way. (Press Copy/Serial Key provided via Dev/Publisher of Title) https://youtu.be/bmNYeVsrZjA My takeaways are as follows: Positives- + Not your average action game + Beat 'em Up meets Strategizing/Survival (Which…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun pixelated beat em up/save them all game that is just dripping with horror movie influence. Honestly as much fun as the game is, my favorite part about this is isn't the gameplay. It's all the homages to 70's and 80's horror. From evil Dead to Little shop Of Horrors, to something that looks like Terminators on acid. There is a ton going on the the background to see as well. As fun to watch as it is to play. I could have used a bit more variety, because as it is it seems like it's just…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall I really enjoy this game! The art style, refrences to horror media, and constant action make it really enjoyable. The game gets pretty challenging and forces you to make some tough choices on pathing throughout the mansion and when to do certain things, overall really fun. If you are interested in seeing some gameplay, below is my run that at the time was the second highest score in the game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3hsMJGEsdk
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really like the art, the concept, the references and I'm even kinda partial to the game's overall arcade feel, but there's a lot of grinding and it feels like it was designed to be won with the trophies from grinding. It's more like an hour-long diversion prolonged by its difficulty (which to be fair, is a classic arcade trope).
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/00sNOeSpHaI Defend the civilians. Escort them to the evac points. Defend the house from being destroyed. Survive by using everything in the house as weapons. Retro feel of 2d action smashing action with the smoothness of today's graphical tech. Using the heavy melee weapons is so much more satisfying than the guns. Lots of little horror parodies, like the Rocky Horror butler. Just wish it were multiplayer.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In many ways, this game reminds me of Zombies Ate My Neighbors, but this is clearly not ZAMN. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWkWC3LCOSA&list=PLYkTBSuzozCRmWovr0gMsVFUKAo1s94JK&index=81 You have to run from room to room taking out all kinds of wacky monsters that are trying to destroy the house while you round up survivors. If they destroy too much of it, you lose. If you die, you lose. Pretty straightforward, but it's surprisingly hard.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game feels like it comes right out of the SNES/Genesis era. It's got a GREAT arcade feel, but is surprisingly deep in subtle ways. There are secrets and mysteries you can uncover that enrich the experience. You can tell the people who made the game were doing something they were passionate about. I think every small dev could learn a lot from this game. I hope that one day they consider making a sequel as there are some concepts that could definitely be expanded upon, such as adding…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Horribly addictive, incredibly well made, ridiculously fun and VERY challenging! Your primary goal is to save all the victims but you won't get far without weapons and keeping an eye on the rooms provides just enough challenge to ramp up the adrenaline without feeling like the game is being cheap. LOVE it!

When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My Night Job is a game meant to be played quickly. The goal is to escort one hundred people out of a mansion swarming with B-movie monsters, a task made harder by your need to find weapons on site - fighting the legions of the night with your bare fists is possible, but not recommended. That by itself would not be too hard. However, the player also needs to manage the monster population, as fiends in an overcrowded room can attack the mansion itself, eventually causing it to collapse if they…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The pixel art is nice but.. the game view gets too crowded at times, very annoying to play when you cannot see much.. too many enemies at once and your character gets lost among them.. I am sorry. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIy72rKreUQ
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My Night Job is a game about killing monsters to save the innocent people. You can pick up almost every prop in the game and use it to smash them down! Pro's: - Smooth gameplay - Save files - Several enemies to deal with - Several people to save - Almost every items has a different DPS - You can kill zombies with a water soaker Cons: - It stops the game for a second if you want to enter a different room, this can be really annoying if you're in the hurry. - It's confusing what your…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Note: The developers were kind enough to give me a Steam key for this game. I found this to be a very fun, fast paced, arcade-style beat-em-up game. The objective is simple: Save as many people as you can and don't let the monsters destroy the house. To that end you'll find yourself rushing from room to room to thin out the monster hordes and give you more time to civilian hunt. The only real con I see with the game is that the combat can be considered a bit simple, but that might not…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a lot of fun. Definitely don't play if you want an easy, or to win at all for that matter. Requires you to play/think a bit more tactically that your standard beat'em up. Lots of fun!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is fairly decent, your not going to spend hours playing this but its a fun little game to play on the side every now and then
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun beat em up, with smart controls. Sad that there is only one level. I´ll estimate round about 10-15h at least to master this, so it´s agood cost/benefit ratio.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to love it and even though I refunded it, I don't think it deserves a negative review, since my issue is not what it is but what it isn't. This feels like a forgotten arcade game from the 90s, and I love that aspect. Great artwork, comedy, and style. And it pulls that off almost perfectly. The problem is, that is its biggest issue. After one or two runs I lost interest because the game lacks any progression. You play the same mansion every time and all you can gain is a higher…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm usually not a fan of arcade beat-em-ups but for some reason I was really addicted to this game for a while. Not entirely sure why. If you really like the theme and art and would like to spend a few hours trying to save everyone, give this a whirl. It isn't expensive either.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's so bad i forgot to regret it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A retro (early-mid 90s) inspired beat-em-up with a horror theme. For the low price of entry I enjoyed this ride. Not something i'll play for hours on end but once in a while i'll load it up and play a round or two. It's a fun romp for less than $5 7.5 of 10 - recommended

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great casual game. Amazing to play on a long bus, train or plane trip. The visuals are good of the genre and it is challenging, but not in a annoying way. Recommended to pick up during a sale for around 5€
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is fun. It's got lots of references and easter eggs, has short tense gameplay (you should finish a game in half an hour), and ... I dunno, something else good. Rule of 3 and all that. The core gameplay involves juggling your need to rescue civilians (a must), keep the monsters from destroying the house (or you lose), and staying alive. It creates a pretty compelling challenge. It has it's issues, it is often difficult to know what or how to do something. For example: after…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a goofy little side-scrolling beat-em-up about rescuing people from an absurdly haunted mansion. Aesthetically, it's quite similar to what I've seen of the Metal Slug games with lots of colorful, cartoony, well-animated pixel violence. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard, but fun and funny. For $4, I'd recommend a lot, and this clears that low bar quite easily. Definitely worth at least a little of your time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To be honest I'm not sure this game deserves a positive rating. Kudos for the gajillion horror-movie references but in all honesty what the heck is going on in this game? You're the bald guy from the Phantasm movies and you're watching TV and see some soldiers with gas masks then a dollar sign pops up and you're in a mansion full of various horror movie monsters rescuing random people and fighting the monsters with random objects in melee fashion... ok but can we get a little more explanation?…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An old-school modern game - and not a game made today but born old. If you are... differently young... you will love this, but I strongly recommend this for everybody!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun little beat 'em up game that can get hectic (which I liked) at some times when you rush through the house to prevent a room from being demolished. You can beat the game rather quickly (took me an hour, that is 4 attemps) and from then on it's achievement grinding or getting the highscore. So this might not be for everyone. I would have loved to see some little upgrade system either ingame (maybe let rescued survivors count as points) or in the style of Rogue Legacy. This would encoure me…
