60 of 190 · most liked firstAlthough I enjoy this sort of puzzle game, particularly the developer's previous work 'Proverbs', there's something about Pharaohs that troubles me. Specifically, that I can't tell for certain whether the ~100 Egyptian facts were partly or wholly written by a chatbot. Considering there are no quotes in the game, there are an awful lot of misplaced closing quotation marks at the ends of sentences. There were also instances of fairly similar wording between facts in the game and AI summaries spat…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Warning: This game is using generative AI texts (as evidenced by classic Gen AI sentence structures like "Canopic jars weren't just practical — they were magical") without any disclosure of this fact on the store.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The sections must partially be algorithmically generated, there are a handful of sections that are 5 or less squares. The puzzle is probably also algorithmically generated. Until recently the descriptions of items were written by a generative neural network (maybe they still are and simply look better), and as such I will never trust this developer again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the best of Mark Ffrench's minesweeper-esque games, absolutely loved the theme and riddle at the end!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was scammed by a salesman while on holiday in Egypt. He convinced me that I would earn a lot of money, but it was just a pyramid scheme. Mosaic of The Pharaohs (MotP) is a relaxing puzzle game, [url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/3083300/Proverbs/?curator_clanid=44696447] mimicking one of the developer’s other works, Proverbs, but with an Egyptian theme. Now, I use the term ‘puzzle’ loosely – This isn’t your typical puzzle game, it’s more like a jigsaw puzzle laid out on a minesweeper…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's minesweeper. No, wait, it's nonograms? It's... a jigsaw puzzle? Nope, it's all three at once and somehow a perfect way to decompress my brain after hours of looking at numbers is looking at more numbers. How does this even work? I don't know. But I like it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunately it is not viable to play this game on the Steam Deck like Proverbs. The compatibility check is misleading, because it does not call out that this game does not support the controls by default. But the bigger problem is it is not possible to modify the controller layout to fix the biggest obstacle to playing. It is not possible to navigate cells one at a time with the dpad or even joystick. Imagine the sheer frustration of trying to play this game using the touchscreen to try to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →These neat little puzzle games have become my new scheduled insta-buy. I'd say that they are all probably **slightly** pricey for what they are, but there just...isn't anything else quite like them. Something about how they function as a light meaningful distraction while listening to a podcast or watching a TV show is perfectly mesmerizing. Regardless of price, I'll cop one of these every time they release with zero complaints.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short Review Mosaic of the Pharaohs is a relaxing puzzle game that offers a satisfying mix of challenge and progression. It's a picross/minesweeper hybrid, and it doesn't pretend to be anything more than that. Completing each mosaic is rewarding, the ancient Egyptian theme gives it a unique atmosphere, and the beautiful pixel art makes every finished piece worth the time spent on it. Recommended if you want a relaxing puzzle game to sink hours into. Full Review Mosaic of the Pharaohs has you…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mark Ffrench has created a new genre of puzzle game. Not quite "coloring pixels." Not quite picross. Not quite minesweeper. Rather, a cozy blend of all three. It's just the right level of relaxing challenge, somewhere between "dissociate after a long day" and a Monday crossword puzzle. The art is exceptional, the historical tid-bits fascinating and fun. I am pumped for the upcoming "paranormal" puzzle coming at the end of October. Mark, if you're listening, keep making these puzzles until the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What’s the biggest puzzle you’ve ever completed? 1,000 pieces? Perhaps 2,000? How about a whopping 60,000? That’s exactly what Mosaic of The Pharaohs offers. Create by solo indie dev Mark Ffrench, this new game offers a meditative delve into the history and mythology of Ancient Egypt #indiegames
unlabelledView post →Mosaic of The Pharaohs is a truly captivating digital puzzle experience developed by Mark Ffrench and published by Divide The Plunder. Based on his popular Mosaic series with the cross-stitch mechanics of Minesweeper, this new title brings the fun to a whole new level, as players work to complete a single, massive 60,000+ piece puzzle. From the very beginning, Mosaic of The Pharaohs immerses players in a meditative and relaxing environment, allowing them to unwind while they focus on solving…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →@mark-ffrench.bsky.social Just wanted to reach out to say I am having a great time with Mosaic of the Pharaohs! It's really the perfect game for listening to podcasts and half-watching football games - thank you for this gem! 💖
unlabelledView post →A giant minesweeper grid divided into regions that when completed turn into a part of a picture. The key parts of the picture come with little snippets of the history and mythology of Egypt, which is an interesting reward for progressing through. It is basically the same gameplay as the developer's other games, Proverbs, Mega Mosaic, and 2024 Mosaic Retrospective, but now it's all about Egypt. I find this type of puzzle very pleasing in the same way something like PowerWash Simulator is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →More of the same (which is good!), in a different setting. For those who haven't tried one of these yet: a HUGE Minseweeper-like field, without the pressure of getting a game over.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is my second game from Mark Ffrench and much like Proverbs, Mosaic of the Pharoahs is a fun, time-killing puzzle game. Admittedly these games are ones that I would recommend spacing out over a longer period of time as the core gameplay remains unchanged. Calming music, gorgeous pixel art, and a type of puzzle that I really enjoy. I did prefer Proverbs, but that may simply be due to a personal lack of interest in the fun Egyptian facts
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is now my favorite puzzle of this series. Proverbs was a tough one to beat, but this puzzle manages to beat it out. It's relaxing, enjoyable, and informative. It even has an added layer at the end. 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some mad devil somewhere decided to breed Minesweeper and Picross together to turn into one big dang puzzle, and I very much enjoyed it. Actually learned a few bits of history too, so that's always a good outcome. The hours aren't anywhere close to the actual played time; I had it up as a coffee break game during my workday to nibble a few blocks when I had a spare minute between meetings. Works well for that purpose. I'll have to check out more like this to have on hand.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty adictive game for a low price. This one doesn't have a difficulty and can be done without using hint !
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm on the fence about this game. I generally play this while mellowing out after a long day. It's borderline mindless with a tiny bit of puzzling; it's like minesweeper if every time you finished a puzzle you got a cute pixelated image and a bit of information about it to look at. Unlike minesweeper, however, there are no stakes to making a mistake. This is both a pro and a con as it makes the game less stressful, but then inevitably at the end of my gaming session I usually feel like I wasted…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you enjoy Nonograms and/or Minesweeper but want it to become a pleasant puzzle at the end, you might enjoy this. And even learn something about the history of Egyptology and Archaeology along the way!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Time to 100%: ~10-20 hours depending upon how good you are at this type of puzzle. Mosaic of the Pharaohs is the fourth game in a series of games that feature one gigantic Fill-a-Pix puzzle for you to solve. This one gives you a 60,000 pixel board to solve. As with the previous games, the grid is broken up into many different regions. however, unlike the previous games, Mega Mosaic and Proverbs, the edges of each region act like the border of the puzzle, or like a wall such that clues given…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As long as Mark keeps making these I'm gonna buy them. Really calms the brain.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Once the patterns are in your brain, this is just the best game to vibe to
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the puzzles don't really have anything to do with the artwork, and it used to have AI generated text. Fun in the same way that doomscrolling is "fun".
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a really solid logic puzzle. It's one gigantic mural that's broken up into different chunks of varying sizes. It plays like a cross between Picross and Minesweeper. I like to leave it up on my desk while I'm watching TV and I'll just casually fill out some chunks over a couple hours.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →These games are perfect for chilling out while watching/listening to podcasts. I love them.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you enjoy logic/minesweeper type games, this one will be in your wheelhouse. You can play with mistake notification on if you are in the mood for casual, or off if you're the type that only likes to figure out something is wrong at the end. All in all, it's a great game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game to waste time on, the difficulty is not too bad, so beginners and experts alike can both enjoy this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mosaic of The Pharaohs is really good. Probably a better game than Proverbs, but there are some issues that let it down
unlabelledView post →Very satisfying as usual, and nice to learn about Egypt at the same time !
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bite-sized minesweeper-esque puzzles when you've got 10m to kill, what's not to love?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great little number puzzle with little factoids. if you like a sudoku then you may like this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beautiful. As always. ♥
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome to play on the Steam Deck, perfect for anyone who likes picross
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another great installment in this series. I really enjoy the facts about ancient Egypt and the music.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mosaic of the Pharaohs is a relaxing puzzle game that offers a satisfying mix of challenge and progression. Completing the mosaics is rewarding, and the ancient Egyptian theme gives the game a unique atmosphere that keeps things interesting. The puzzles gradually become more complex without feeling overwhelming, making it easy to settle into a comfortable rhythm. If you enjoy logic puzzles and uncovering detailed images piece by piece, this is a great game to relax with.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you liked Proverbs and his other puzzles you will like this. It's a minesweeper/pixross sort of puzzle game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I. JUST. CAN'T. STOP!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simple puzzle game with fun facts for sections solved. Only 20 percent of the way through the main puzzle so far but once you understand the games mechanic its super addictive and a nice way to pass the time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was the one I completed the fastest out of all the ones I've done so far (all but the Mosaic of the Strange). Still just as enjoyable as the other games, but with Egyptian mythology and history factoids as the theme. I think the price is alright because I really enjoy these types of games, but it might be best to start with the free retrospective games instead to see if this type of game is one you enjoy.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →completed the whole puzzle and received the achievement for it BUT some of the achievements wont unlock saying i need to complete certain areas. WTF?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very suspicious reviews. So far this has just been.. a minesweeper game. Wow, riveting. Maybe minor mechanics are added later on, but why would you waste your precious free time on this when there are so many incredible puzzle games out there?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mosaic of The Pharaohs is a large-scale logic puzzle experience that takes a familiar concept and stretches it into something far more prolonged and contemplative than most games in the genre attempt. Developed by Mark Ffrench and published by Divide The Plunder, it revolves around completing a single, massive mosaic made up of thousands of tiles, gradually revealing an image inspired by ancient Egyptian themes. Rather than offering a series of discrete puzzles, the game presents one continuous…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Same as previous puzzles by the same people. As always with facts, I was surprised how little I knew about the ancient world, not just Egypt, but the other civilisations around at the time. This one also has a bonus little secret puzzle at the end that was fun and different
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →if you played any of the other mosaic games, you're sure to like this one as well. while not my personal favorite (that honor goes to proverbs), it still scratches that minesweeper/picross puzzle itch. my favorite thing to do when i needed to wind down or keep my hand busy while listening to something else! im not into the egyptology theme, but thats more of a personal preference than a mark against the game. in any case, the gameplay is still the same and well worth it (and if you like…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A nice and relaxing puzzle game. I usually need something to do while I listen to audiobooks or podcasts and this was absolutely perfect!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought this myself cause I liked Mega Mosaic. but although this one is a good entry I liked Mega Mosaic better which also took me longer than this one
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is the perfect way to relax at the end of the day. If you love mine sweeper this is the game for you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Probably one of the nicest Mega Mosaic games from Mark Ffrench and Divide The Plunder: while not overly difficult, the theme was nice, with interesting bits of lore. The final mosaic is very nice looking, and a definite plus is the music background: I would definitely just buy the OST as DLC if it comes out!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →These games are so chill to just watch youtube and play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →puzzle go brrr: egypt edition
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simple number game, a lot like Minesweeper. Great to play while listening to music or podcasts
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would play a hundred games like this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR A plain Minesweeper clone with an Egyptian theme: huge map, uninspired levels and almost no challenge. [11/20⭐, 23h🏅, 2/5💡] Context Mosaic of the Pharaohs is a standard Minesweeper-style game where you fill up an Egyptian-themed mosaic. The devs promise a huge map, and to be fair they do deliver on that. Unfortunately it’s just a sprawling grid of dull and repetitive levels. Writing There’s no an actual story, but you’re supposed to be playing as an archeologist uncovering ancient…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game #41 Finished in 2025, Mosaic of the Pharaohs. These are the perfect games to chill out and catch up on podcasts with. Especially if you like Minesweeper. :)

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Proverbs is superb. This one have some problems, the colors are hurting, and it has frame rate problems, something it does with the rendering hurts my head.
