Finally another fix for my minesweeper addiction! (don't judge, pls) I'm a big fan of these hard, no guessing, mind twisting minesweeper evolutions and I believe I have played most of them (all hexcells, squarecells, tametsi, hexologic, globesweeper puzzle, delete...), let me know of more :) I just love the whole "if this, then that" loop and this game scratches the same itch while adding it's own flavor. The game looks nice and is functional, although it can add some more options and…

This is an awesome logic puzzle! There's no need to guess, just use all the clues. It's a unique blend of Nonograms and Minesweeper. If you're a fan of SquareCells or Tamesti, you will definitely feel at home with Polimines.

It is a puzzle game with an interesting concept which mixes up minesweeper and nonograms. I like the idea behind it, I just think the execution leaves a lot to be desired: - there is no way to mark multiple fields at the same time, - there is no way to mark which numbers you have already solved, - it is sometimes really hard to tell which outside numbers belong to which fields, - the levels are for the most part really easy and there is only 30 of them in total. It would have gotten a maybe…

While the basic concept is enjoyable, the game is too unpolished and buggy to recommend. The good: + Fairly enjoyable basic gameplay – it's a perfectly balanced blend of picross and minesweeper + Generally good difficulty level, though it swings wildly up and down between consecutive levels + Customisable colours Mixed: ~ There is a toggle for inverting controls (important to make it feel more picross-like), but the game often forgets that I inverted the controls, which I only notice when it…

I don't mind ugly, short and easy puzzle games, but Polimines's presentation is really, plain bad and uninspired. And in this game, mistakes literally don't mean anything. You can click anywhere, make as many mistakes as you want, and nothing happens. No consequences or anything, zero stakes, completely removes any sense of challenge.

In short: Polimines offers a decently interesting blend of Minesweeper and Nonogram gameplay with a lackluster interface. Gameplay is solid, but with only 30 levels included (of which I would count 28 as introductory in difficulty) adding up to roughly 70 minutes of total playtime this is a glorified demo that is absolutely not worth paying full price. I bought the game at a steep discount and still feel overcharged. In long: The gameplay is exactly as advertised - a blend of Minesweeper and…

A bit on the short side, but a fun concept. The levels up until 19 are fairly straightforward; then the difficulty ramps up quite a bit throughout the last 11 levels. It doesn't take more than a couple of hours to complete though, and I think it would have been a better game with a bit more content.

Unless I'm missing something here, I've had to guess where some of the mines were a lot of the time. So the claim that guessing is never required is misleading.

I love the concept of combining nonograms with minesweeper, but I don't like the implementation. On games with two inputs (left & right click) I constantly mix them up. This game allows false right clicks but "punishes" false left clicks with directly showing the correct color. I prefer games, where I'm able to do the misclick, realize I pressed the wrong button and then correct it myself; or if it is a genuine error, only find out about it, by not being able to mark it as complete, so I can…

A nice entry to the genre than unfortunately I cannot recommend. Mostly because of the confusing way of writing the double/triple numbers that are for both column and row, especially when the numbers are written inside the grid. There is no way of drawing like Tametsi even if the puzzles are simpler it would have helped. Buy it if you finished all of the other similar games :)

skip... Polimines 2 is better in every way. Polimines 1 feels low quality, has only a few, pretty boring, levels and acts as a bad demo for Polimines 2, which changes little, but perfects what is there. 2 also has plenty of levels, excellent puzzle design and gets really tricky without feeling unfair.

It's okay. It combines the presentation and gameplay of a nanogram with occasional blocks that will provide hints about surrounding blocks a la Minesweeper. The puzzle design needs to be tightened up a bit along with UI, presentation, and controls. There's a severe lack of content (only 30 puzzles), and it's a mystery why the developer hasn't made it Deck-friendly. Maybe I'm just stupid but it also felt like some of the puzzles weren't providing enough info and I had to guess at points. More…

It was okay but I found it more confusing than anything. 1. The control scheme, right click for mark and left click for safe, while understandable for mine, keeps throwing me off because I'm more familiar with nanogram games. No way to swap this for now 2. The default color scheme is quite an eyesore, with orange as default tile color and a lighter shade of orange after you confirm the tile safe. There is a setting to change it, but I feel like it should be more obvious. 3.…

Kinda like the idea but some level designs are dog sh1t. It's almost like the game wants you to brute-force some boxes. Also there is no punishment for when you have a mistake... I just has a mistake counter then it finishes the level once you click on all the boxes. I don't get why they designed it like that.

Fun concept, but the game feels too short for the price. I beat the 30 levels in 2 hours at a relaxed pace, which is less gameplay than I expect for a CDN$6.49 game. The way in which clues are given is a bit confusing, as although it will highlight the affected tiles, it does not highlight all of the numbers that make up a given hint. This becomes confusing on larger levels, where a individual number clue may apply to both a row and a column at once. A weak 'not recommend' from me: I'd only…

Polimines is a very simple minesweeper logic puzzle. For those familiar with Tametsi and other minesweeper logic games you won't find much difficulty within this game however you will find a very relaxing suite of puzzles. The game itself doesn't take long with only 25 puzzles in total. If you are new to the genre and are looking for an introduction into logic puzzles Polimines is the game for you. I hope the developer will endeavour to release more puzzles in the future. Polimines 5/10

If you like Minesweeper or Nonograms, this is a fun enough game to enjoy for a bit. I enjoyed it, but it definitely could use a little more polish/quality of life improvements. Difficulty seemed to swing a lot between levels, of which there are 30. A handful of those levels are tutorial levels, bringing down the actual amount of content. Due to this, I'm not sure I'd recommend the game at full price, but definitely would if on sale.

Cool concept bad execution. I love nonograms and minesweeper but this combo didnt set up perfectly in my mind. You can easily bypass levels by just clicking on the tiles instead of trying to finish it with 0 mistakes. Adding unknown numbers didnt fit at all for me but decent try.

Picross meets minesweeper is a great combo. Not a huge game (30 levels) - and some quirks to the way the clues are given that aren't obvious. But it's dirt cheap and kept me entertained on a rainy Sunday. Favourite feature: it allows mistakes and just keeps count per level. Which is functionally similar to an undo button, but more honest. And even though there's no skip level option, it does mean you can theoretically brute force a level if you want to give up.

I don't have a lot to say for this one except that it's of the hardest minesweeper variant I've ever completed. There is no guessing needed in any puzzle (despite what you might think or feel) so if you usually breeze through this type of game and are looking for a challenge, Polimines and Polimines 2 are good bets (but fyi, the second game is much more challenging). A fun little mix of Picross/Nonogram and Mindsweeper. All 30 puzzles are solvable using logic - no guessing at all. Only issue is the lack of switching controls between marking a free cell and marking a mine, but it's a minor thing, and the developer has already mentioned he's working on fixing that.

This game definitely hits the spot for me as a nonogram enthusiast, while providing a lot of new mechanics (mostly from minesweeper, but also with the question mark and multipurpose clues) that added a ton of challenge. I also greatly appreciated that all the puzzles could be solved without any blind guessing. Almost doesn't need a review really, I think most people will know if this game is for them based on it's description alone. It is short, but it's also cheap, and there's a few twists on mechanics that keep you on your toes the whole time. (I did have paint open trying multiple solutions a few times). Polimines is a technically functional puzzle game that unfortunately feels more like a newspaper sudoku than an actual video game. The complete absence of music creates a sterile atmosphere that drains any potential enjoyment from the experience. This game is not super challenging for anyone who enjoys nono-sweeper games, but some puzzles in this game are pretty satisfying. Starting around level 24/25 out of 30, levels have at least one challenging move that is nice to solve. Very simple and uninteresting minesweeper game. The levels aren't particularly well-designed: you get more clues than you need. It lacks basic quality of life features like automatically graying out numbers. I solved all 30 levels without making any mistakes and without ever getting stuck. An experienced minesweeper player will finish this within an hour. (I played very carefully and idled.) Play the Hexcells series (+spinoffs) or 14 Minesweeper Variants instead of this.

Clever. Devious. The difficulty progression is spiky. Puzzles one through seven ease you into the core concepts and solving techniques. But this is not a chill, easy-going game; be prepared to start thinking outside the box immediately after puzzle seven. There are several more difficulty spikes on your way to 30, but you tend to get a few easier puzzles after a particularly challenging one. There’s a nice breadth of puzzles: grand, sweeping ones that have you wander across the board,…

As much as I enjoy these types of games, I can not recommend this one. The point of the numbers along the sides of the puzzles if to help you solve it. The addition of question marks is a nice added boost to the difficulty. That said, when the question marks are a clue in both the horizontal and vertical lines, they should represent the same number, or it should have been stated more clearly in the tutorial that this would not be the case.

It's a nice result for what seems to be a first puzzle game developer. A combination of Minesweeper and Nonogram in mostly simple puzzles that only reach to "advanced" difficulty. A 2-3 hour experience so it's a bit on the pricey side, get this on a sale if you are into this sort of puzzle games. - Keep in mind the "?" could represent a different number in the row and column.
