60 of 93 · most liked firstAfter several hours of play, I really want to love Masterplan Tycoon. The core gameplay is smart, progression is satisfying, and the dry humor sprinkled throughout adds charm. But as it stands, this game feels more like an early access build than a finished release. The UI has quirks, logic rules aren’t always intuitive, and there's a lack of regression testing when new mechanics get added. For example, the tutorial doesn’t reflect updated systems, leading to confusion. Routing is strictly…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Been awhile since I felt this mixed on a game. Great idea. So much potential. If you see more positive reviews and it looks like you might like it. Give it a shot. For me, there were just enough design choices I didn't mesh with to kill the experience for me: Not a fan of the forced left to right movement. Limitations on what can input to what, and how the connector has that bezier curve, makes it so I'm forced to build in this very linear style that feels arbitrary and gets rid of my…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really love this concept on paper. I bought into the game shortly after release, and just simply couldn't find pleasure in it - and let me be clear, I can see the light of the end of that tunnel. It's so close. But, the node system is fundamentally hindering my ability to feel accomplished with even simple tasks. That's the short of it. On the chance a dev sees this review, here's where my grief lies: The boundaries of the nodes where links cannot cross into its border are FAR too far from…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The fact that you can only connect your inputs on the left and outputs on the right is ridiculous. They are not even adjustable points that can be moved around your shape. The art style is good, and the animations and connections smooth. But until the developer decides to actually the interconnects more in this game, it will quickly bore the users.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I hate to rate games down, but to be honest, there were a couple places where I was getting so frustrated with this game that I realised I really wasn't having fun. The base concept is great, but I have issues with the execution. For example, there are points in the game where you are sent to a different map in order to obtain a new resource not found on your main map, then send it back. You send through resources you've previously earned in order to help you jump ahead in the new area.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Neat little game, but has a huge flaw. There is no way, that I can tell, to delete buildings or get a refund. I got to the second mission [steel mill] (which is like 30 minutes of waiting for things go build and connecting stuff in a jenky way), and then I was told to build 4 buildings a quarry, lumber mill, sawmill, and storage. I like speeding things up so I build 2 quarrys, 2 lumber mills and 1 saw mill, and then I did not have resources left over to put a storage building and my current…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I found it to be boring. It was neither challenging nor interesting. And i usually love these types of games.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Universal storage trivializes layouts and eliminates any supply chain layout, you just put farms into a column of storage, into column of factories, into a column of storage etc etc. Don't accidentally press the (undocumented and non-rebindable) quick load shortcut (F9), there's no confirmation and no backups.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is ALMOST fantastic! It's just too linear and missing too many quality of life features. Making connections between nodes is frustrating, not fun. Having said that, I highly look forward to this dev's next game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Masterplan Tycoon is a minimalistic RTS Single player PvQ (Player vs Quests). You place buildings to make things so that you can make other buildings to make new things that can satisfy quest requirements. There is no time limit, no enemies, no bosses. Just you vs the space constraints of the world you were given and the buildings you are making. The music is okay for what you're doing. I normally set it to 10% volume for this kind of music and for this game. Gameplay is somewhat fun if you're…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a bad game, but not quite what I was expecting. The game itself is quite railroaded in what to build and your progression. It works in what it sets out to do though and the mechanics are clear and easy to understand. One thing though is that your island must always progress from left to right as nodes always point in that direction.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It doesn't really suck me in. I think the game is a bit to slow, so that it never becomes exciting. You wait to get enough resources, then you place a building, and you wait for it to build. Then before you can connect it to another building, you have to wait for resources again and then wait for it to build. The obvious solution is to make more buildings that make resources, which sounds fine, but every building is a building that makes resources, and certain buildings have maintenance costs,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I agree with the others. I wanted to like this game and played for about 30 minutes before finally hanging it up. It's just too boring. Stick with Factorio.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →2 big things make this game very annoying to play: pillars dont work, and nodes arent rotatable, some generated maps are just straight up ♥♥♥♥♥♥ because you cant turn nodes around
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's got great potential, but as of now, I can't really make myself play it the lack of the power to rotate buildings, and the supply line system really needs to be reworked, if that happened I could easily see recent reviews going from mixed up to mostly positive. However the second that gets fixed I would change my review because of how much potential it has.

With its clean visuals and focus on optimization, the game invites players to build efficient systems that make resource management feel both challenging and rewarding. Gameplay The core gameplay revolves around creating a seamless flow of resources between nodes. Each system requires precise planning and experimentation, leading to a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's logistics but its not logical. Author doesn't seem to know much about commodities, infrastructure, transportation, or colonial history. More polish than content. Painfully repetitive in graphics, music, and mechanics.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game doesnt make sense... why does opening the brick building lead you to another WORLD ... what does it even mean...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thought i'd like it cause i like games like Satisfactory, Factorio, etc. but it just kinda felt boring and not that fun to play i can see how other people would like this game but i just couldnt really like it for those 8 minutes i played
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a fun little management/puzzle game about putting together resource trees. If you like playing management games (or even crafting games) where the main mechanic is that you have to satisfy conditions on a crafting or building-tree in order to unlock the next node, then you'll enjoy this game! On top of resource management, it also has a really interesting puzzle mechanic. The connections between resources have limitations on how they curve and where they can be placed. If you've ever…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I found the game interesting for 10mn, then it is rince and repeat… no depth.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really enjoyed this game and the way resources are moved around the different maps. The game itself feels more like a puzzle where you have to build a little machine to solve everything. The only thing I would change about this game is to have a better overview for how much of each resource I am using per whatever unit amount of time. Having this as an aggregate and then seeing a building's maintenance cost before placing would have helped a lot in those moment where I had to track down the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →really cool. starts getting laggy after finishing mountain. QOL changes I'd love to see - overall production/consumption per minute stats for every resource visible when you hover over them in storage - a way to highlight blocks, sometimes it takes forever to find some of them (skill issue) - faster way to join blocks with storage, maybe with shift+drag? - missions should be easier to spot, maybe with a different color than the storage idk if i didnt notice but is there a way to deselect a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game developer is from Ruzzia. Do not pay money to the ruzzian invaders.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Minimalist production like simulator
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun factory sim :) Not a lot of replay value however.

unlabelledView post →not intuitive. Forced to do what the dev want you to... No way to free play, erros happens whenever they want to happen, you have no free will in the game. Must follow the linear whatever the dev invented and done. but if you make a mistake, your fault without an error message. Some nodes requires input for maintanence, but the node itself has no input. Dev created a game that him knows how to play
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun little management/planning game. Does miss a real end game to be really worth it at full price. But at a discount it will keep you buys for like 9/10 hours for 100%
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Has some really great potential. I'd like to see more of an "end game" and not so much of a micromanaged campaign (the "key events" option really helped this) but it limits replayability Also, it would be awesome to have a separate page that shows you all your production/consumption from all the different islands so bottlenecks can be better managed. - Just this alone would make the game 100x better. Smooth other than that. Worth the $5 on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Basically no hotkeys. No way to edit controls. WTF, it's 2026 oO Pressing B to open the build menu only works after right clicking first. No way to change scroll speed. It's one of these games where the dev thought to know better, how controls should word and fail.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR: I recommend this game for folks looking for a COZY game with a production line theme. There are some quality of life features I wished were implemented, but the game is still very much playable and great to play while watching a stream or generally chilling. I can't stress this enough, THIS IS A COZY GAME that is about production. I purchased this game thinking this would be a fun factory sim/supply chain game, and I did spend some levels/missions treating it as such. However, the most…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You can easily softlock yourself because for whatever ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up reason the buildings to create planks require planks to build.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →8. Masterplan Tycoon Minimalistic resource management sim based on node programming. Everything in the game is simple and consistent. The nodes are buildings. The pins are contact points between them. The links are roads between buildings.
unlabelledView post →An management game, good concept, looks good, feels good, but with time gets chaotic and QOL are really lacking as the game progresses, making it less and less interesting/engaging. Overall, an interesting and fun concept, captivating for the first few hours, but "late" game progression becomes annoying to deal with, not many QOL, board gets chaotic, and second island felt really unnecessary and was the breaking point between a good and a meh game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bugged clunky garbage. The lines and lack of control is absolutely infuriating, having the lines automatically curve into spaces.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Auto calm go BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →MASTERPLAN TYCOON Another game I devoured in an afternoon. A resource chain puzzler with all the pomp and artifice stripped away, which I found really satisfying from a design perspective.
unlabelledView post →Quite generic. I know I haven't played it much, but from what I can see, gameplay doesn't really change after this point. Imagine an automation game stripped of every aspect but the very basic concept. I get the idea, but it's just plain and boring.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is the equivalent of a programming casino. I love it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game offers a fun and engaging simulation experience, where you build and manage a successful business empire. With its intuitive mechanics and strategic depth, it's perfect for fans of tycoon games. The balance between growth and challenges keeps the gameplay fresh and enjoyable. If you like crafting your own business success story, this is worth checking out.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not that there is anything groundbreaking in this game for the genre, and it softlocked me 30 minutes in
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the block and wire mechanic. I've found that it took a little while to understand some underlying mechanics of the game like managing inventory and the maintenance mechanic, but I figured that out. There's a 'walk through' system to hold your hand for new players, but it wasn't 100% effective for me. Other than that, I've really enjoyed this
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a fun game that allows you to use a type of flow chart to gather materials and gather different items for maintenance. I keep finding new ways to keep everything running as you explore islands and different maps. I love this game and hope many more people will play and enjoy it as well.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So this game isn't for everyone for sure. But it's a good sandbox with plenty of qualities. I am just sad for one thing, there is no quick delete button. So you can't optimise as an after thought which is sincerely sad. I hope it'll be added.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is like that Ubisoft franchise, Anno, but the roads are restricted to the left side, labor supply is nonexistent, there are no opponents to steal your stuff, and as you see, not very graphical. There are no negative consequences to any actions I make—like if I build something accidentally, I can tear it down and I get all the stuff required to rebuild. The game is easy and relaxing, but making roads never bores me. Recommend to those who play and listen to something important in the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Finished" the game in 23 hrs - I got the splash screen saying so. Not built every resource type yet though. So that's just the "campaign". I spent a bit too long optimizing things that didn't need to be optimal. I've got 14 of the 16 achievements (5.6%) the final two being the "unlock everything, even the unknown buildings" - which only 4% of people have done. Not bad at 40% (3.99) which I paid, not so sure at full price 9.99. You can find free resource management games with more play time…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am standing against the mechanic that you have limited some types of rescources on other islads, for example brics. This really does not serve gameplay, imo
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoyed this game for the first 10 hours of gameplay, but now game crashes every few minutes of play. My specs may be a part of the problem, so I will attach it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A strange little management game that feels somehow overcomplicated, and overly simplified all at the same time. I can't say I recommend it, as it felt a little underdeveloped for a game that came out in 2023 with plenty of time for polish and refinement. At the moment I'll have to not recommend but who knows where this might be in the future if it sees any changes.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Achievement Hunting Rating 5/5 A minimalist factory game. The real challenge comes from managing limited space on the maps. It takes about 15 hours to get all the achievements and you need to play through about half of the post main game missions to 100%. Try the demo version "Masterplan Tycoon: Foundations" first. If you don't enjoy the gameplay I don't recommend 15 hours of it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the simplicity of the game, but also how the simple elements allow users to create large elaborate solutions.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun version of KNIME teehee
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I struggled for a long time with whether or not to recommend this game. It was a toss-up between a very conditional recommendation and a slight "no." In the end, I decided NOT to recommend it because I feel that a positive rating would send the wrong signal. The Gameplay Experience In principle, I love logistics and production chain games—I’ve played Satisfactory, Factorio, and Shapez, just to name a few. But with Masterplan Tycoon, something feels off. The production ratios of the individual…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really great game, hope your building something bigger
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It has an interesting style. It can get a bit repetitive. It about a 12 hour game, my time is inflated since I restarted from scratch at some point and often left it open when I stepped away a few times.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game can get very confusing. I understand it's a logistical type of game. But you've got the main game and and the missions. Moving between the two can be a bit of a challenge. Why can't they be separated either play the main game or play the mission levels.
