A run is finished in only a little over 2 hours and there is little to differentiate one run from another. There is a rudimentary politics system in the game, but in the end, you will always have someone to trade with. From a merchants perspective, i don´t much see why i would care who exactly that is, so it hardly makes a difference for your runs. Once you finished one, you´re effectively done,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want to like it - it's inspired by Game Dev Story and Game Dev Tycoon. But I never really care about what I'm building unlike those games. I'm just throwing out as much as I can as quickly as I can. It has some nice twists in it's mechanics but overall they don't really mesh well. I just can't care about the politics of a faceless country - even more so when it doesn't affect me in the long-run what happens to them. I really wanted to like this, but I just can't. Add in it's shortness - it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Magic Force Tycoon takes on a fantasy-worldbuilding, where you forge weapons to sell to different kingdoms, impacting their economic/military power and influencing outcomes of wars. There is clear inspiration from the classic Game Dev Tycoon, but it is a much more casual experience. I played two runs, each completed in around 4.5 hours as it takes 15 in-game years. Compared to other tycoon games, I do find it to be more on the simplistic side, so it may not be the right game for everyone.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR: Not a bad game, just tedious and so fundamentally different from what it's marketed as that you're bound to be disappointed if you expected a crafting and shop focused game. I don't hate this game but I really feel like I'm just wasting my time. What seemed like a really interesting puzzle mechanic is actually just tedium. You figure out what is good/bad by making the weapon 1 at a time (batch orders won't give multiple hints...) until you get all the info you need, then roughly…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is two-plays-game. First time you learn. Second - you play. Unless you fail with money debt - this will be the last one. I see no reason to play for the 3rd time. And even 2nd time was boring as hell in the middle. I don't even know what may change the game so that it will become interesting. Overall it is a good game technically. But boring overall. I've spent many days in game dev tycoon (mostly with mods) and some other similar games. All of those were much more interesting.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a game that keeps on giving, with layer upon layer upon layer of little details and surprises. And on top of that, when you read between the lines, it even becomes a little bit of a philosophical reflexion on society. I've only scratched the surface, but I'm hooked. And to top it of, January 13th is my daughter's birthday. Thank you Clever Trickster, you made my day, and hers.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very Fun Game. I highly recommend it. Played the Demo. Got Advance Exclusive Access and streamed it live. You're watching my coverage on the Steam Store Page right now. I really love the mini-crafting game to find the perfect craft. You can then automate your production and sell it straight to your Trading Post to make money while taking on contract orders from the various factions. It's an addictive loop. You can watch my YouTube Let's Play coverage here:…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Asking for a refund. Wanted to give it a fair shake but I really couldn't get into it. Granted I played less than 20 minutes but the forge mechanic didn't hook me at all (a shame when it's most of the game) and I was even less interested by the geopolitics. In a sense it feels half assed and even though the steam page says that they "tweaked" the AI generated stuff, it's very noticeable that it wasn't. (You can even see it in the game's banner, the weapons on the walls aren't held up by…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the gameplay loop of trying to make a perfect weapon and getting hints after each attempt. I like how the different factions provide you with crafting material. So even if one had annoying traits, if they're the only supply of a resource then you may want to keep them alive anyway. At least for now.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was rather delightful, which isn't something I tend to say about playing (seemingly) a mobile game on PC. At first glance, MFT is about crafting weapons to sell to the highest bidder. For each weapon there are nine sliders (representing "focus on function" vs. "focus on style"), six of which have sweet spots, with the other three being "drag me in whatever direction you need for the final result". I recommend you just look up a guide for the ideal sliders for each weapon, because the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was initially on the fence, but I am glad I tried it. It is pretty fun and has a simple politics system that makes kingdoms gain or lose military power depending who you sell weapons for.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Working on Magic Forge Tycoon is wild! We're so hyped by the game! 😍 Here's a peek at how we bring our weapons from sketch to full 3D! Magic meets metal 🎨🧙♂️ What do you think of the process so far? Which weapon would you produce first? Alpha’s getting close! Link to register in the comments 👇✨
unlabelledView post →Game is quite good, but it gets very repetitive really fast. The premise is to command the forge for 15 years through 3 ages, each unlocking new stuff. That was nice. You basically control world as towns will wage wars and depending on who you supply they will win or lose. Forging process is nice, but as already said, repetitive. Bad part is that game has much to improve in term of optimisation and shortcuts. Why isn't there a keyboard shortcut to switch between forge and market? You need to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pleasantly surprised by how complex and fully developed this is! Takes a lot of inspiration from Game Dev Tycoon, in a good way, but definitely does it's own thing with the system. Totally worth the $12, even easier to say yes to a sale. Highly recommended for any strategy/puzzle game fans. If you're a Game Dev Tycoon fan this is a must buy.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For the price, it's not that bad, but it needs a LOT of work if the developers want replayability. If Steam offered a Mixed review, then that's what I'd choose, but I'll sway towards positivity for this review. After having finished a run which took about 7 hours, it definitely ended way earlier than I imagined it would. You only get so much time before the score attack mode completes, which is your only opportunity to try for the best score achievements for which I have no clue what score you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A neat little game. Mechanically sound, engaging for a couple of playthroughs. I got a solid 10 hours out of it. The biggest complaint is there isn't enough content. The bones are solid, the fundamental gameplay loop is good, but there's nothing to really do with it. I really hope this gets expanded in updates, but even if not, a fun little indie to kill some time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not much to add to the positive reviews, just wanted to recommend the game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Magic Forge is clearly inspired by Greenheart Game Dev Tycoon. If you like Game Dev Tycoon, you'll enjoy Magic Forge too. In MF, a superficial political simulation runs in the background, which you can influence as an arms dealer. I haven't quite grasped all the dynamics yet. So it's more complex than it initially appears. Enchantments and alchemy, a changing resource market, and so on are unlocked gradually. Later on, there's also a simple automation function. Personally, I find my options…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun game! It reminds me of Game Dev Tycoon, but with a sharper twist and way more political depth

unlabelledView post →From what I can tell, Clever Trickster's second project, "Magic Forge Tycoon" was kind of a flop. 81 Steam reviews -- the ones I can see allude to refunding the game. I remember the whole dev cycle for this -- the devs had promised a support period for Blood Bar Tycoon, it didn't happen.
unlabelledView post →Kinda slow, kinda boring, kinda get constantly interrupted by info about tensions and wars. Yawn.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not very familiar with this type of game, but I really enjoyed my time with it! Short and sweet
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good tycoon game. A little harder than most to learn but once you do get the hints into the game which takes a few runs to do it is an easy game and pretty much turns into a management sim instead of a you go and pick a city to support thing. The city support thing I never really got what it means though I am sure it is due to my only complete being of supporting only people not at war and not people who are at war. It takes around 1 to 3 hours per run to go from start to finish at 15 in game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really an amazing game! Had so much fun finding the right recipes for weapons, trading them and doing low key diplomacy 😁 Highly recommend!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The core blacksmithing part is "fine," maybe could use some more expansion on variety or just another layer beyond the sliders/enchant? The faction system is kind of why I bought it, as it is, I would say it is fairly hollow, and to an extent I don't care who is winning/losing. There is some downside to letting your t4 factions die, but it doesn't matter all that much either. I think the players need something beyond a leaderboard to chase here, or some more difficulty/immersive layers…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game needs way more guidance in what the various systems do. Economic power, military power, weapon types, etc. The game just sort of leaves you to your own devices and creates a leaderboard but no feedback on what you could do better or how to better produce stronger weapons more quickly. Solid base but definitely needs more guidance in the form of a wiki or in game guidebook otherwise you are just mindlessly clicking
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I didn't manage my cash and I failed my first run, but there does seem to be some meta progression which makes a new run feasable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A charming management sim where crafting magical gear feels rewarding. Progression is smooth, upgrades are satisfying, and the cozy fantasy vibe works well, though pacing can feel a bit slow at times.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very entertaining game. Tecnical aspect: Smooth, very few bugs, beautiful UI, intuitive and awesome UX, useful hover tips, all buttons are where you need them, cool graphs. Gameplay: Entertaining, intuitive, fun. Healthy balance of randomness, skill-based decisions and micromanagement. Might get a bit repetitive after 5-10 hours - I am looking forward to more content being added! If it keeps the high quality standard, it will be awesome.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →as stands needs content pretty bad feels barebonesi dont have the heart as to give it a dont reccomend but, its a pretty small game so be aware of that
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i enjoyed this game and feel i got my moneys worth out of it best blacksmith sim/tycoon i ever played honestly. also i beat the top spot on the global leaderboard by 115% of the previous best score >:D
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really great take on the game dev tycoon gameplay loop. Adds unique aspects to make it a bit more interesting while keeping the core gameplay similar enough that seasoned players will feel right at home. The graphics are a really nice style and the progression is really solid. I love the automation aspect of things along with the different factions and relationships with them. Overall a great game that you'll enjoy if you like the game dev tycoon style games, and want it in a different setting.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's inspired by Game Dev Tycoon, but the game goes further. Here, you produce magical weapons in a fantasy universe, but the added bonus is that, in addition to selling your weapons, you have to be careful who you sell them to, because strengthening the power of a kingdom can encourage it to go to war and pillage its neighbors (who is maybe also a good customer). Here, the geopolitics can really make all the difference. I also really like the slider system, which I think is more sophisticated…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I refunded, because I don't think it's really my jam, but it's quite polished, and seems like if you're into this genre of games, it would be great. I don't think I got to see much of the layers or depth, perhaps the Alchemy system would have added more to it. Lovely aesthetics, but nothing interesting narratively, so I won't be playing any more.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is pretty fun but you can be pretty lost if you're a beginner on such type of game i would say I like tha fantasy the games put on it's original
