60 of 210 · most liked firstIf Dark Souls had a bulky cousin who works out too much, sleeps in full armor, and occasionally trips over his own attacks, this would be the game. Lords of the Fallen is an action RPG that wants to be challenging and epic but sometimes feels like it’s battling the laws of physics more than the actual enemies. You play as Harkyn, a guy so heavy every step feels like a tactical decision. Combat can be satisfying when it hits, frustrating when it clunks, and always hilarious when you die to an…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Seems like it could be a decent slow-paced Souls-y thing, but the constant camera wobble absolutely kills and it makes it extremely annoying to play. Running shakes the camera, fighting shakes the camera, finishing a fight shakes the camera. There's no option to turn it off. Other than that, the only thing that bothered me during the beginning is the fatroll.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →even in 2026 I liked this game, It's just really UNDERRATED, also I'm trying the new one LOTF and both are great.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rarely do I play soulslikes since the feeling of playing a Fromsoft rpg hits me like no other and so I have this fear maybe some soulslikes made by other developers may not live up to what Fromsoft effortlessly conjures to magnificence. All warts and all. Over the years I’ve tried other titles in the genre to mixed success. Sadly this is one of those times once again into holy moly territory. For the 2014, Lords of the Fallen title. The lengths they strove for the *Souls* formula is nothing…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've tried with this game. Played a bit near release after playing a few of the FromSoft games and liked the art-style but found the game so utterly derivative I immediately dropped it, felt like a rip-off. As time went by and more and more souls-likes came out, I thought maybe I'd judged it too soon, after all souls-likes had became their own sub-genre. So tried again briefly but lost interest at the second boss and started playing something else. Bought the new one recently, which seems…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lords of the Fallen (2014) is a clunky but earnest Souls-like that prioritizes slow, heavy combat over the fluid agility of its inspirations. The weighty armor and deliberate stamina management create a unique rhythm, but inconsistent hitboxes and repetitive enemy design often frustrate rather than challenge. Its grim fantasy world lacks the memorable lore or environmental storytelling to truly captivate, feeling more like a checklist of genre tropes. Ultimately, it's a decent time-killer for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had to sadly drop it since there is no map and quest log to keep track of things. Such a shame since there is an interesting lore and places to explore. frequent crashes and framerate issues do not help at all.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Highly recommended despite these negative reviews this game really worth it - Value: Excellent - Visuals & graphics: Good - Performance: Stable - GamePlay: Good ( Specially, if you're a fan of heavy weapons you gonna enjoy this game more ) Finally, I'd like to say that this game worth trying out don't judge it just by negative reviews try it yourself
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think people underrate this game expecting a Dark Souls copy, being one of the first soulsLIKE, keep in mind Dark Souls 2 came out 5 months before this game. I think this game focuses on the use of slow heavy weapons, kinda like going full Havel from the start of the game, there is no roll spam, there's no summons, there are not that many fast weapons, there's only 1 (ONE) respec in the entire game. There are some cheap tactics the AI uses, some attacks are unbelievable fast and combo you,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lords of the Fallen (2014) may not be perfect, but it’s far better than the “Mixed” reviews suggest. The game plays surprisingly well even today, with beautiful visuals, smooth combat, and no major bugs throughout. Movement feels sluggish at first, but once you manage equipment weight and get lighter gear, it becomes satisfying. The early game can feel punishing due to tough checkpoints and frequent deaths, but good armor and weapons appear quickly—making you feel powerful soon after. It’s a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lords of the Crashes and Motion Sickness How this game is sitting at Mixed on Steam is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ miracle. This came out after Dark Souls II and somehow feels even jankier, slower, and crashes every 15 minutes. Sure, I could spend hours trying to fix the problems myself, but I'm not the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ developer—I'm the customer who bought the product. So how about you fix your own game? I can make the game crash every single time by simply opening the lore menu. How is that even possible? My God,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No reason at all why this game should be mixed reviews. Sure it's not game of the year but it is by far one of the best souls-likes out there. I think there are two types of souls games -- the adhd twitch parry style and the daddy bear fat roll bonk stick style which this is. Basically it's combat gameplay like ds1 and not like sekiro. Played the whole thing on SteamDeck and it worked perfectly. Lots of hidden stuff to explore and find and a good amount of sidequests to do including the dlc…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is not that bad when you get to it. I feel like people expected another Dark Souls copy and treated this one too harshly. It is fun and worth the money when on a sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As you’ve known me to state in the past, I don’t review every game I play. A game must strike an emotional chord with me for it to convey its virtues, vices, and shortcomings onto paper (or in this case, computer screen.) Lords of the Fallen, however, went beyond that. I can’t help but feel the game took a piece of me and claimed it for its own. Hacked or sawed flesh of my flesh, bone of my bone and kept it there in its deep dark fortress. I have no choice but to log my experience with the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is more of a neutral review. All throughout playing the game, I kept wavering between thinking this game was garbage and thinking I kind of like this game. This game is a buggy mess with some poor design choices and lack of enemy variety where you feel like you are playing in mud, but it does scratch a certain souls itch. There are honestly so many noticeable flaws to the game, and it is vastly inferior to the Dark Souls trilogy. However, there were still redeemable parts to the game…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game are soo goooooodd.. I bleeding.. burned.. fell.. thrown.. hurt.. killed.. but I managed to reach the goal of graduating.. souls like easy in my opinion.. you can even multiply your XP.. amazing game.. and underrated 100% Don't mind the people who say this game are bad.. they just don't want their treasure to be enjoyed by many people.. This game is very cheap during sale. but it is not cheap in making me a little tortured. .
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The original Lords Of The Fallen (2014) I enjoyed more when it came out on PS4. I decided to pick this up and replay it before playing the new soft reboot/Sequel Lords of the Fallen (2023). This game was one of the first Souls-like games to be mildly popular back in the day, although most people seemed to not like it. I always thought it was fine. It's not an amazing game, but it's pretty decent. The combat is much more slow compared to Dark Souls (which already has slow combat compared to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I waited years to play this game because my old computer couldn't run it. Now that I finally decided to splurge on a Steam Deck and can run the game I was so incredibly disappointed by it. It's mainly the combat - it's absolutely atrocious. It's so bad it made me hate almost every moment I was playing it. There's probably worse games out there... I think, but I definitely wouldn't recommend LotF 2014 to anyone. The only reason I was able to pull through and get the hundo (100% achievements) is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are bad and broken games made all the time. There can be a ton of reasons, but there are specific games made solely to misguide and disrespect players. I really wished I could enjoy another cool looking Dark Fantasy if not a good Souls-Like. Lord of the Fallen is not only one of the worst video games of all time, it’s clearly made with the bare minimum effort while pretending to deliver something genuinely cool. Minor Issues: -Story and exploration are rushed and poorly done. -You can…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A frustatingly fun game, The ambience, soundtrack and artstyle is sooo good, But the combat feels like the most overweight person in planet earth is fighting against the gods. The Guy can hardly move!! Also the later levels are just trying to ragebait the players with cheap difficulty tricks. Negatives far outweigh the positives for this game sadly. Now to tryout the reboot!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I didnt like the mechanics and gameplay at all. Unless you get it free i dont reccomend buying it with spending money which you can rather save and spend on souls-like games with better mechanics.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Look man... I mean I just played for a couple of hours but, well this is so uninspiring and generic I really cant be bothered to waste time on this when I've been begging for so long to have some free quality time to dive into Elden Ring. Its janky, slow, boring and without any flair. Its like Dark Souls filtered 100 times to a unsavoury pulp.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I tried to give this a chance but the camera is always shaking during simple actions, attacks and movement. It's very annoying and unfortunately there's no option to disable it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another one of those 2010s action RPGs where character movement feels like you're wading through molasses at all times. Just play a FromSoft game and don't waste your time with this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought the 2023 version, but I wanted to try the first game first, and I really liked it; I felt like a kid wanting to explore the whole map and collect every single item. I'm looking forward to playing the next two titles.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Having completed when released, coming back in 2026 to say this game was great! Still don't get the hate, but I dug the graphics and gameplay. It's 3$ as of 5/16/2026 and if you are even remotely into God of War, Dark Souls, new/bad Lords of the Fallen, Darksiders I or II, etc, the 3$ tag is crazy good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game sucks. the story is kind of a thing, you are a convict sent out to save a kingdom to redeem yourself or something. thee are some side stories and characters and audio logs that flesh out the world beyond what you see, but none of it is interesting. graphically, the game looks okay, it's like trying too hard to be dark fantasy, but everything is so oversized that it feels like... tank world of warcraft or something, enemy designs are kind of variations of big beefy baseball bois…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really good game that got bad rep as people were expecting it to be a Dark Souls copy (as it was one of the first souls likes). If you judge it for what it is, there's a lot to love here. Combat is more slower and methodical, you need to use magic here and there, art style is amazing.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It has some good things like graphics and some exploration bits, but the combat and movement is so Slow paced i just cant bring myself to slog through this. I played it when it came out in 2014 and had no recollection of it so i wanted to play through it again and i don't know if its just because games are made better since then or what, but its so slow paced its almost unplayable. Sad
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lords of the Fallen (2014) is a third-person action RPG heavily influenced by the growing popularity of “soulslike” design at its release. The story follows Harkyn, a convicted warrior tasked with investigating the return of ancient demonic forces. Narrative delivery is straightforward, relying on brief cutscenes and environmental notes to build context. The tone is dark but not overly complex. Combat is weighty and methodical. Weapons have noticeable startup and recovery frames, so…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't know why I played this. You shouldn't play this. It's self harm, is what it is. Their engine-specific shaky camera is genuinely nausea inducing, with no official way to turn it off. If you start a new game, then immediately return to the start menu and load up your actual save, it'll reduce the shaking somewhat, but you'll have to tank most of it for the tutorial zone, and then about 10 minutes after every new session, after which it'll go away. Mostly. Then you can continue playing a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a good game. Is it a little clunky? Yes. Is it a bit old? Yes. Is it beautiful? Does it have a good storyline and exceptional dialogue? Is every character memorable? Yes, yes and yes.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →lords of the fallen > elden ring
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The story was kinda good but the gameplay wasn't. it was so janky and slow and painful as hell.. I only played it because I wanna play the next lotf. but to be honest I don't recommend it at all
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its darksoul, but with ma char forgot to unequip 2 greathammer
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I HATE THIS GAME SO MUCH SCREW YOU G2A
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can't even call this game ass because I like ass, that's how ass this ass is
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not this one. You want the other one.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've just completed my first run, so im gonna part vent part say my opinions, the combat is slow as hell, yes even slower that demons souls, the weapons are almost all the same, even ds2 had at least 2 different movesets for every weapon class... , there are literally 6 faith scaling weapons, so dont even bother unless you like using a scythe for the last 95% of the game, no, i did not level up faith because i love scythes without knowing that it was a greataxe reskin and got trapped with it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game simply refuses to launch, without any errors or anything. All proposed solutions I could find throughout the internet, did not help in the slightest. I'm not the only person with this issue, you can see quite a few people with the same problem, their questions being not answered for years. In the meantime, GOG version just works. No issues, you simply install it and launch the game. I blame both denuvo and developers. By the way, if you install both this game and LOTF 2023 game,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An okay game, not terrible, not really good either. But combat felt a bit too wonky. Game looked nice, but also this type of game isn't for me. 2.45/5
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you think "The game is mid." you have Skill Issue! If you say "Its the worst souls like." just Git Good! If you find "The story and characters boring." then you are Media Illiterate! This is the best game Miyazaki never made!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Far and away the worst souls game I've put time into. It is genuinely baffling how they managed to create such a stupid combat loop, and combine it with incredibly bad level design. Visuals are sometimes pretty good but mostly muddy and confusing. Bosses are a crime against humanity with horrid music, especially the final fight which killed off half my brain cells. Builds are lame and everything just feels slow and off. At least some of the pure evil dialogue is pretty funny. 1.5/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Slow paced souls-like, great game to get into souls-like with as its short and forgiving in its difficulty.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No fun to be had here. Everything about this game punishes the player for installing it. Slow muddy combat that feels like the game resents you for pressing the button. I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Enjoyed it, but it's honestly a bad game. Can't recommend unless you're nuts for soulslikes or you love the Lords of the Fallen world to death. Best part of the game is the running shield bash, knocking enemies off their feet by running into them is a great mechanic that I wish more games allowed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Here we go again. The enemy is five meters tall and is dressed in so many layers of steel that you can't even see it. Maybe even his underwear is made of titanium. In his hand is a hybrid hammer that some madman forged into a scythe. He is three times bigger than me, while I am, to my own surprise, naked. I have daggers in my hand and like a mosquito I fly around and stab the mountain of steel until it falls. The scene takes place in a cemetery, there is no need to dig a grave. As many times as…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game doesn’t test your skill — it tests your patience and your will to keep the game installed. The character swings weapons like they’re underwater, in slow motion, after doing a full arm workout. Even completely naked, you move like you’re carrying a fridge on your back. “Fast” weapons? Yeah, fast at dealing zero damage while still taking 3 business days to hit. Combat isn’t hard — it’s just unresponsive. You press attack, go make a sandwich, come back, and the animation might be…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →>play a game I know is bad >game is bad why do I do this
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you want to try your first souls-like, please don't try Lords of the fallen. The game has structure and graphics that aged quite well, but the gameplay don't. Some mechanics are clanky, and super slow (more than a regular souls-like). Die for the enemy is expected and the standard, but when you die for technicalities of the game you notice that something is not right. If you already is in the souls-like journey, you can try it for sure, but buy it with a good discount. Otherwise it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's pretty janky, kinda awkward in some places with terrain collision, and one of the enemy types is obnoxious in that it can only be hit by special weapons, as well as one of the lategame areas being annoying to navigate, but it's got heart and some decent ideas, it's a good game to just pick up for a weekend, sit down, and just play if you can get over the awful camera shaking.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Personally I really enjoy the world crafted for this game. The gameplay is fun and weapon/armour designs are of my liking. 8/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →one of my favourite game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is rough, the controls feel clunky, I know it's suppose to feel heavy, but this aint it. I highly recommend playing the newer game, it feels a lot better. Some of the armors and bosses are good looking tho. That's my compliment xD
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's definitely not From Software lvl, but it's a more simple and slow souls game. The environment and enemies do tend to be a bit repetitive, but overall it's been an enjoyable experience so far.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lords of the Fallen (2014) I bought this at least 8 years ago and just remembered I had it a few weeks ago. I was curious why I didnt like it, so I decided to play it. After this time, I will give you my honest review. Hopefully you may give this game a chance. Story Not a terrible story, it starts off with your main character thats a criminal, but you have been brought out of prison to help humanity out and fight off the Rogar (an extra dimensional race that seems to want to conquer…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So, I know the 2014 Lords of the Fallen game wasn't well received, but I thought it was relatively enjoyable. I was sick one weekend and just ran through this game, and I had a fun time getting through it. The story is pretty unsubstantial and the gameplay is clunky, but it CAN be enjoyable. Obviously Souls-like games have evolved with time, but I think this game is alright for being one of the first derivatives of Dark Souls. The story really is forgettable though... I can't even remember the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is tough, no doubt about it. It requires a certain level of skill, including parrying, timing your attacks, and mastering the combat mechanics. It's not just a button-mashing game. A lot of people complain about poor performance, but so far I haven't encountered a single issue. On the contrary, the game runs smoothly and is very stable. Is it worth playing? Definitely YES. Even though it was released in 2014, it still has surprisingly good graphics.
