The story of several generations of one family unfolding in front of us is literally filled with real warmth and sensuality inherent in really good things (sometimes I had the impression that the creators made a game based on…

This game sits right in the middle of point and click and narrative; it really is both, and they’ve done a great job of blending the genres. The “Casual” tag is often used in Hidden object games; this is not one, and it is not always easy. You will click everything and watch the game open and expand just as the family tree you are recreating does. You will solve puzzles; things do not always fly out of your inventory and solve…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First and foremost, it's a really interesting game. Honestly, was very excited in playing the game and I'm really thankful that the developers have released an English update for this game. However, some parts of the game are out of context (such as drowning the fish in the cafe scene but the I would never know "poisson" means fish in French). Some of the discoveries were easy while some were not very intuitive to begin with. Had to rely heavily on limited guides and plenty of translation…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cool and chill game, BUT I really dislike games that you have to buy more to be able to continue on with the story. Super annoyed by that. Unfortunately, I will not be purchasing the next chapters.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game was fun but while I was playing towards the end of Chapter 1, I must have clicked something I didn't mean to because the whole family tree autocompleted!! It spoiled the whole thing! And I couldn't find out how to undo it without completely restarting, it wouldn't even let me change anything anymore. Super disappointed. Why on earth does the game prompt you when you're close to the end to just finish itself?? It had some bugs before that but I was overlooking them...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The voice overs, sound effects, and the art style were the highlights of this game. Learning more about the different family members by piecing together their stories through journal entries that you can interact with was originally the main selling point of this game. Unfortunately, I had to play this with a guide because it was hard to trigger the cutscenes and the puzzles unless you literally clicked around. The UI/UX aren’t intuitive enough for you to divine on your own that this chapter…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is cute, I'll give it that. The story is nice and I love the ties to finding out about the family, the concept is nice. However, towards the middle, it has a conclusion button that you figure is part of the game and when you click it, it reveals the whole story. Like what? So I started over because I wanted to complete the game without spoiling it for myself -- for one challenge you need to know the French word for fish. It kept blocking me from putting people on the tree in a certain…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This review is for both chapters 1 and 2 of Look Inside. The game is fun, if a bit challenging for newcomers to puzzle games. I like the coziness and its empathy for all the characters. The biggest problem I have is that the game is buggy and randomly freezes when you're trying to do something. My progress was always saved, except at one point in Chapter Two, which I had to redo from scratch no less than three times because of glitches. I never counted how many times or noted the sections where…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Relaxing, well-organized and touching. The experience is totally worth the price if you like points and click. Hints or help of any kind available when asked would be appreciated though. The soundtrack is particularly enjoyable and suits perfectly with the game, giving us a way to get it or buy it would be a nice idea.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →looK INside - Chapter 1 is a very good point & click game where you play as a girl named Manon who find a book of his family. You interact with pictures and page to know more about her family. The puzzles are quite simples and cool, the ambiant is cozy and the graphics are nice. It worth it and for his low price, I highly recommend it!!! 💗💗💗
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed Look Inside - Chapter 1, and I liked the second chapter too. The puzzles are creative and satisfying when you figure them out, but I’ll admit I got stuck more than a few times. I really wish there were some kind of hint button for those moments, because sometimes I just needed a little nudge instead of sitting there wondering what I was missing. Still, I had a good time with it and was interested enough to keep going with the series.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to love this game but - oh god it's frustrating. Everything is just a little bit confusing. Stuff like: - I can't revisit the information I have heard before - Some rooms show as completed when there are still things to do there - Relatedly, you never know if things are interactive just for fun or are actually important - There are multiple portraits for the same people - The game asks you if you want to finish the chapter when you've clearly not finished the chapter! - The…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunately, I can't really recommend it. I wish it was made better with more thought put into it. The art and overall premise are both good, voice acting is nice, but the execution is... meh... The "just look around" approach with no real information what you are supposed to do made me felt lost most of the time. What am I doing? Why does nothing happen? What am I supposed to do? Should I know who this is? Half of the stuff is interactable, but it does nothing, and you are not sure if it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is very cute, the puzzles are ok but the story is really really short, a bit confusing as there is no backstory around what you're supposed to do, you're just dropped here in the game. Even by completing everything at 100% I feel like the tree is not logical to fill in. The game was also kind of buggy (I had to close it 3 times to complete it because stuff would become randomly non clickable). All together, I feel like I bought an incomplete game, by its shortness and bugginess... for…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sorry to say this because I love games with a puzzle element but l cannot understand this game at all. There is not even a little help or direction to get you started.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute contemplative Point & Click game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →100% review - Beautiful art, good narration and storytelling was emotive for a short game. However, I found the puzzles often directionless and I sometimes felt forced to discover things by spam clicking the screen. It was fun to interact with the scenes but it was hard to tell which interactions were apart of puzzles and which were just to build atmosphere. I ended up having to follow a guide because some elements I didn't find self explanatory. Furthermore, I found it hard to follow the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I do like this game, however, that being said, it's surprisingly difficult to play without a guide. I had to use two different guides in order to get through the first chapter, and it only took me about 73 minutes to fully complete. It's a cute story, but there aren't "hints" or anything, so without the guide I was just randomly clicking and dragging hoping it would do something to trigger a portrait or name. I'm excited for more chapters to be released, and I hope the story is just as…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the genre, but this game is frustrating. I'm probably too dumb, but I can't see sometimes how it's logical and since there are no hints, I'm totally lost.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Incredibly charming point&click/puzzle/narrative game that lets you linger and move around at your own pace. The amount of ways you can interact with things in each scene is baffling. The story is cozy, the characters all seem very real, the art is so endearing. An extremely unique experience - you can tell that the developers have really poured love into this and I'm excited for the remaining chapters.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Look inside is a lovely quiet game. The puzzles are sometimes difficult, however it is a very enjoyable experience and the story is beautiful. I would recommend this game to anyone who likes to solve puzzles, use logic and work out connections between people. The simple graphics are beautiful, and the gameplay I found fun. I can't wait for chapter 2!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is just the first chapter of 3 (parts 2 and 3 coming soon) but I enjoyed it. There were parts that were a little frustrating (endless clicking) but there are no super difficult puzzles (if you could even call them that). This game gives you no direction or tutorials, just explore! If you are slow like me, it took a couple hours to find everything and I had to look up a couple random things. Spoiler free hints are in the forums (use Google Translate if you don't speak French) and in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I found it rather boring, kind of. Yes it's quite pretty, the voice actor has a nice voice, and i get the idea about making a genealogy with some books you found on the attic. But somehow it just didnt get to mee, some of it didn't make any sense and the genealogy tree looks weird...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Incredibly frustrating game. Easy to mis-click, unintuitive controls and far too little direction, even for a poke-around-and-explore-at-your-own-pace-game. Pretty buggy, and the story and information made some very big leaps. Auto-completed at the end. Do not recommend.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to like this game because I love the art style. But it's really, really buggy. Puzzles made no sense and the translation is terrible. I couldn't even do the family tree because there's a bug that won't let me place the photos in any spot. I don't even understand how you can just finish the game without it telling you if you were right in your guesses or not? In short, don't buy it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a sweet and lovely game where you figure who is who in the puzzle. You only know one person for sure and that is yourself a young woman by the name of Manon. It's an interesting puzzle game and you have to use your brain to connect the dots. As you explore through the different scenes. As of right now I can't really recommend the game. The logic isn't intuitive and for progression it can get frustrating at times. There might be something lost in translation from French to English. I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"look INside" is one of those games that seem to be interesting at first. Nice soundtrack, arty puzzles and so on. But after a while it gets just annoying. There seems to be no plot at all and the complete lack of a help/hint system make this game feel like a waste of time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Un point and click qui pousse a la curiosité. Tres relaxant :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Relaxing a sweet point and click puzzle game. A steal when it goes on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoy narrative-atmospheric games, and looK INside is no exception. Be that as it may, I found this game quite complex and I had to look up some guides. A pity, because it shatters the immersion.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is relaxing at the same time, a bit meditative and intellectually, emotionally stimulating, but without any strong points of pressure. It is not inspiring or in any way stressful. Beautiful and calm narrative and style with a bit of kind irony.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Extremely frustrating game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →looK INside, developed and published by Unexpected, is an indie narrative puzzle game that invites players into the intimate world of a French family through the lens of a scrapbook. Released on January 22, 2020, the game offers a unique blend of storytelling and interactive puzzles, allowing players to explore personal histories and uncover family secrets. The gameplay centers around Manon, who discovers a scrapbook in her attic that chronicles the lives of her ancestors. Each page of the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played through the game once, well 1.5 times since I had to reset because of bugs. Got 10/15 achievements organically. The idea is amazing and the execution is mostly great. But there are those pesky bugs. Mainly for me, key items kept glitching out or straight up disappearing. Sometimes reloading the game didn't fix it, thus the restart. Overall, still a really cool game. Not really a puzzle game, but something like that. I'm really happy that there is a sequel.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall, the game narration is pretty good and even how the story develops but it is so lacking into introducing what you are suppose to do and like all the achievements are very scattered, Finished but it is okay... Buy it at a discounted rate for sure.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an amazing game to spend several hours on. You research a family history while listening to atmospheric music. Just what you need for relaxation and meditation. I like the design and style of illustrations. Hope we'll get to see the next chapter soon!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →très bon jeu de détente !
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played this once before and don't remember it having so many bugs. Replayed before playing Chapter 2 and I had to restart twice and couldn't finish the family tree because some options just disappeared. It's a sweet game, but pretty unplayable in its current condition. Not worth it even on sale.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →pretty simple game, the puzzles r fun, and i actually enjoyed figuring out what was going on not a long game, but a nice little experience if you like mystery/puzzle games
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It pains me a bit to give KIN a negative rating, but I can't wholeheartedly recommend it. It's not bad per se, but the mechanics fall a bit short in polishing and preciseness. I have a feeling as if the artstyle was a bigger focal point than the puzzles. Therefore some puzzles are creative and fun, some are too easy, some almost incomprehensible. I also didn't understand the choice that, if you have discovered a certain amount of clues, you can just click a button to end the game and the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →why doesn't chapter 2 support mac like chapter 1 does? also, it was very difficult to understand the puzzles and because of a bug I couldn't remove the name tag of one character
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall: It is not a bad game at all - I just personally didn't enjoy it. I did have issues with bugs & mechanics which decreased my "fun" and increased my "frustration" as I was playing. This is what tipped it from being neutral to no I don't want to play again (even though I did for achievements). I didn't feel engaged with the puzzles (due to bugs happening so I couldn't complete them) or the story (the characters I found most interesting weren't gone into in depth, instead the ones I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great Puzzles and Had a few Really tough ones to keep me guessing. Loved it !!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am positively surprised by this game, i didn't expect it too have so much content. You get to explore the family, the relationships and unique people. You can then place them in a family tree, connect the names and see how they are related to each other. You do this by working through pages in a book, by solving little puzzles and clicking on stuff. I have to admit that many things didn't come to me naturally and i had to look up a guide a few times because i was stuck. Still it took me…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I actually liked this game, but it is really bugged. It does not feel finished at all. I went through about half the game and it asked me if I wanted to "finish the chapter" without telling me what that meant... and then solved the game for me. I had to restart without looking and when I did, the new game did not give me the portraits to some of the puzzles I completed, so there was no way to "finish" the rooms. It isn't unplayable, and it's good for the price, but I think it could be REALLY…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I respect that dev teams deserve adequate compensation for their time and effort, but finding out I had to pay another 6.99 to keep on playing the chapters felt like a punch after completing this one in just two hours. It was cute and enjoyable, in the vein of rusty lake or assemble with care. Acceptable during a sale, but content is scarce.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is unfinished with its two chapters, and there's no word on the rest of the game ever appearing. I can't recommend the game at this point.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a lil tiresome but a cute concept
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good! I enjoyed it a lot, though honestly i did get stuck a few times, but the overall experience is fun This is a unique puzzle point and click game about a girl who found a journal/ book that describes her family member's story and life, though you have to figure out the name of the family members and their relationship to each other through the scenes portrayed in the book. Whenever you correctly solved something, the narrator will say some snippets about the family member in question,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lovely! Just completed Chapter 1 mostly on my own but I looked up a few things but most of those I could have gotten myself with some more patience. Usually all the hints are in front of you (or slightly behind something you need to move) and the interactions mostly don't feel random. To be honest, I made a mess of the family tree and was mostly confused about that part but when you complete the chapter it's put into order and you can read a bit about the people at different stages in their…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"looK INside - Chapter 1" is a casua point&click puzzle game in which you find a book in the attic. You play as Manon, who discovers the past of her family members through their memories, their gestures, their quirks and their little secrets. I liked the gamemechanics, i found it a bit sad that there were no hints cuz i got stuck- The Artstyle and music was very fitting, i really liked it. It took me around 3.2 hours to finish it with all achievements. I had to replay it but that was okay.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice and short thankfully but it got itself stuck when entering and exiting some of the puzzles. Can accidentally auto complete before you've actually reached the end. I don't think it deserves a thumbs down but it definitely deserves a thumbs sideways.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too little challenge and, while the plot is pretty good and the design looks great, the game itself is lackluster. Most of it self completes and there's lots of times you're forced to make inferences instead of actually using your brain. Plus the story doesn't end, forcing you to buy and play its sequel.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A creative colorful small world full of secrets to uncover
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute and relaxing scrap booking, genealogy game where you discover your ancestry and build your family tree. 5/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A game with a nice concept but could have been executed better, perhaps that's why the second episode which was supposed to continue the narrative storytelling of the family was never made, I love the visual style and scrap-booking and comfy feel of the game in trying to wring out the history of the family in the game. But as many people found, the puzzles may not be as intuitive and clear, which makes it hard to play without a proper guide as you may be stuck in places and unable to progress.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was unlike any point and click game I've played before, but still surprisingly entertaining. I would consider this more a tactile exploratory game that let's you slowly unravel the backstory of each family members. Looking forward to the release of the upcoming chapters.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the most chill game I've ever played and I loved it. It is so beautifully well made. The artwork is gorgeous, the music is calming, and the story is interesting even though there isn't much to it. I had a great time playing chapter one and look forward to chapters two and three!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beaucoup beaucoup de petits details! Des textes bien travailles et de tres bonnes observations/constatation de notre societe! La DA tres personnalisee est tres reussite! Une mechanique de jeu simple mais tres complete! Felicitation a l'equipe et j espere pouvoir voir les prochains chapitres!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →was pleasantly fun and a good time passer of a game. the art was nice to look at, and the narration was nice when discovering things. a few confusing parts to the puzzles but eventually you brute force it, accidentally discover something, or a nice guide can help! My only problem with the game came after I finished and went achievement hunting. If you click through things too fast, it'll cause some glitching and you'll have to reopen the game or exit to menu to refresh things. nothing too…
