The charming steampunk setting and cute story will entertain you through tough as nails gameplay that is sure to satisfy the most dedicated strategy enthusiast. Take note that I am generally not one for strategy games, so my opinion may be a bit noobish compared to a genre aficionado. That said, the gameplay…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simply, do NOT buy this or if you buy it DO NOT install it. It contains and install a virus on your PC, it's a known issue since two years now and neither Steam or the Dev ever did anything about it. For more information, you can check the discussions section.

You'll want to win the robots war for them. Yes the graphics are simplistic. They are still pleasing to look at. Yes the controls are easy. Yes the sounds are simplistic. They match the game style. It has cards. Never a bad thing. For a fun train combat sim, give this one a try!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Locoland: ~~~~~~~~ A happy and peaceful civilization of hard working robots with an extensive railroad network, enjoying robotic life as best they can. Cherishing the ancient “Golden Gear” relic as their ancestors have, unfortunately the evil Khon-Kaa-Doo has other things in mind. On a beautiful night, he sent his troops to steal the relic. From now on, your mission is to get it back! An interesting strategy game involving trains as your main units. Building wagons containing canons,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A challenging RTS with a twist: all of your units are train cars that are moved around the map via tracks. Unique and enjoyable with a great art style. I was provided a key from the Developer I quite enjoyed this game, as a long-time fan of classic RTS titles. It makes for a refreshing change in the genre by taking well known gameplay elements and adding a twist to the movement and management. Whilst an older game, it holds up well despite a lower resolution than you would expect to see…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is unplayable because it will simply not install due to a (false?) positive on a virus check by Windows Defender.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7JXAgsuSh8 I was immediately struck by the unique artwork and style of Locoland. A surreal landscape which you battle across on trains isn't something you get to play everyday. Sadly, despite the game's strong visual appeal the game play falls apart quite quickly. Tutorials leave you painfully unaware of basic mechanics, such as reloading train cars via the repair station. On only the third level it became apparent that the computer has infinite resources as…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was very cool at the time it came out. I totally loved it. But I would recommend to play it now, because there are no other games like this. Have you ever seen a hardcore strategy game in which you can move units only by rails? No! You have not! I strongly recommend to try this masterpiece!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Locomotives and Happiness = Locoland :) Locoland is a retro indie game about the world of steam trains from wonderland and our opponent who has stolen our most precious diamond, The Golden Gear. The game is a combination of Tower Defence/Strategy Tactics. You always need to analyse the situation with the opponent and take the best way to get through the mission. So I'll descrive you the first three missions. You start the mission with a locomotive + two gun trains and you need to be fast with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you are missing oldschool starcraft-alike strategy games, you need to play this. This is a totally new experience in gaming, I never played anything like Locoland. Gameplay, visuals and music are outstanding. Highly recommended 8.5/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was very hard for me when I played it in a childhood. By i still remember it’s catching soundtrack and funny robots from a cutscene in the beginning. Surely will beat the game now, but it’s still ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard =)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game files literally contain ransomware in the cdpro.bin file. this detection was confirmed by virustotal being flagged as malicious by 38 of 67 AV vendors. discussion about this is available here https://steamcommunity.com/app/352130/discussions/0/598198356161967915/ This game is a literal virus, avoid and report to steam
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"create or select player", enter player name and no matter what I do it resets to "New Player" - and without creating a player I can't start the game, so basically this isn't working.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Recommending against getting or installing this game, primarily due to the "Trojan Horse" reported and blocked by my Norton anti-virus on the CDPRO.BIN file installed with the game (file reported to be from 9 years and 9 months ago). Even if a false warning, first impressions are of a quite dated game (released 17 years ago) and not worth the effort or the risk.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →failed to work properly on anything I tried it on. Windows 7, wine in WIN XP mode, wine in Win 95 mode. It crashes on video intro, if to remove videos it will run but will heavily flicker (2 seconds black screen, 2 seconds you can see game). Win 7 also has colored rectangular overlays on your map - like visual garbage. maybe it's a nice game but it's useless for any device you can run steam on. avoid!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For a dollar it's really nice game. I played it in my earlier days but I got stuck on a certain level. Overall the level design is brilliant, sometimes a bit frustrating but still, I got my 20 hours worth of fun with it, some of course being replays like I mention. Just beware that it's only single player campaign, meaning no multiplayer or co-op of any sort. AI is scripted and smart, most of the time, but the AI will run out of orders in the factory at a certain time, that's how I basically…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hum... A mixed bag. This is a very original RTS game. You assemble trains with cars with different powers and you go fighting on rails for 20 missions. Old graphics but still nice. Decent music. No bugs or crashes. Runs fine on Win 7. Now, no tutorial, no tooltips, no descriptions, 'easy' would be 'normal' or 'hard' for today standards... the old concept of getting the player to find out everything by himself and get frustrated with repetition. The game, though, is not hard to understand. The…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I first played Locoland back when it was called Steamland, on a loose CD in a stack from an estranged family member almost 15 years ago. I spent hours attempting to play it on my already aging Windows 98 computer set up in my bedroom, and boy did I suck at it. Fast forward to about two months ago and I find it on Steam and, despite never being any good at it, I bought it. Playing it now, I realise that the game isn't necessarily any easier - I'm just more patient. It's still tricky, and isn't…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played this game when it came out. It's original name on retail is SteamLand, made by buka in late 2003 or something. Definitely an unknown old game, but it's still something good. A mix between RTS and movement restricted rails, its something you should try out. Really love the music too. Had a lot of fun playing it before!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Warning: Broken Game! This game has design/implementation defects that will render this unplayable for many gamers. The menu locks up at the "enter your name" bit and the game can't be played. The developers are aware of the bug but choose not to fix it. Locoland is an ancient game from 2003. It's a whopping 20 years old at the time of this review. The game lacks support for any modern gaming display resolutions (or widescreen monitors), hasn't been modernised or updated to run smoothly on…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not bad for when it came out, but not good enough to be worth recommending nowadays.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not working, menu is broken, haven't noticed it playing in the background , glad I bought it for 0.4 usd not 4
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The trains seem to change tracks at seemingly any crossing, maybe this is a feature to make the game more interesting and its easy to start predicting after some time, but is there enoiugh here really? .... meh
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Locoland is a cute real time arcade action puzzle game from Buka Entertainment. This game is cute, different, innovative and imaginative. Graphics while cute and visually appealing are restricted to 4:3 perspective with 3 selectable resolutions 640x480, 800x600 and 1024x768. The art work is cartoon like with surreal colours and shading and would be at home in any children's story book. Game sounds are atmospheric but can be hard on the ears at higher volumes. The music is a variety of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was first released in 2003. For a game of this age it's not a bad little title and its a shame that a little bit of spit and polish wasn't added prior to its Steam launch and it has some issues. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JP5kGx8lwIM Before you buy this game please consider the following issues I found: The lack of Resolution options. The original 'Steamland' title hasn't been replaced or changed. There is a lack of a decent tutorial, it was hit and miss most of the time. At…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well, I know one game that I think you didn't cover in the train video that might be interesting: LocoLand, a hybrid train game and RTS game, and definitely an oddball title that would have fit that original video. Now, is it worth a bonus video on its own? Not really.
unlabelledView post →Locoland, developed by Gromada in collaboration with ESDigital Games and published by the same, is a real-time strategy game that feels deliberately out of step with modern design, in both good and frustrating ways. Originally conceived in an earlier era of PC gaming, it carries forward a distinct identity shaped by experimentation rather than accessibility. Set in a colorful, slightly eccentric world populated by mechanical factions, the game immediately distinguishes itself through a central…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lost in a bright world where every move reveals new mysteries and fun adventures. I cannot stop playing, it is simply thrilling and inspiring!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is just about two empires and also about train combat. That's the main reason why is it soo good. Best game ever.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kudos to the developers, artists, musicians and everyone else who contributed to this game! Love the artstyle, gameplay and especially music. Playing this game brings a lot of nostalgia. I played many hours with my dad, brother and cousin in my childhood. To this day they still enjoy this game. For that I can't thank devs enough.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent game from my childhood. Especially great when you like trains, real time strategy and good for it's time visuals that have not really aged much. Game offers 20 levels with different biomes that are pleasing to look at. There are many trains available and some levels offer unending supply of money to experiment with builds. There are many little tricks that have to be learned which provide some challenge. Even though I'm older now, it's still great to get back and experience this…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought the game cause it was one of my favorite games free childhood but after I finished a few levels everything bugged and I can't enter username anymore and therefore can't play :((((((((((
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nostalgia hits hard, i never thought il play this game again, and to find it on steam is even bigger surprise. Big part of my childhood, good memories. It still holds up well, has that charm, the music, still very playable and fun except for some quirks that old games have like low framerate and non bindable keys (not much of a problem, all you need is LMB really). Definietly recommended to give it a try, for a dollar it wont hurt yer wallet and its worth much more than that.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Extremely fun real time strategy game and will keep you engaged for hours! This is a very unique game, unlike no other I have ever played. The only disappointment is that it needs a sequel and much much longer campaign!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was my first game i have played since i´ve got my first PC, its nice to play Steamland again and remember those times. Literally still here playing this game couple times a year for multiple hours when i do so.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Works perfectly on Manjaro Linux. Everyone should have this game in their library, it's timeless.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A favorite game from my childhood! Highly recommend it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is ma childhood. I still have the Estonian translated version of the game on CD, but im still happy to see it on Steam.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game could be better. Even though I got it cheap on sale it could use some real good improvements like map editor, better graphics, more cars ETC. Rating 3/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When is the sequel I've been waiting 19 years
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it has trainborger
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One word: childhood
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it wont install due to apparntly containing a virus - shame as i was looking forward to playing it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Graphics aged poorly. Resolution is very limited. Back then, a very good game. In 2019... meh. Not recommended.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well, it looks good, but on the second mission I got into some kind of stalemate, pressing the enemy to theirs depot and suddenly noone could shoot anymore for no apparent reason.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For some reason, I keep coming back to play this game as I feel compelled to not let the game beat me. Even though it is a real time strategy game, it is more like a real time puzzle game, where you need to work out how they AI functions on each level. Each level is different and the key is working out what you need to make to succeed for this level. (well done to the designers who have put a lot of effort into creating the levels). It can be a really frustrating game, requiring you to try…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game of my childhood. I would definitely play a remake (with multiplayer option ofc). I recommend everyone to play it! I love the visuals and music. MUSIC IN THIS GAME IS AWESOME!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i think this game has something unique to it, it combines the limits of locomotives on only rails, the use of guns on cart/wagon and the rts mechanic of it, it's so interesting and fun, the graphic might not look at all appealing in todays standard, but it has this unique concept to it. the story is nice, and its just the idea of trains with gun cart is what so fun about it, and i kind of wish they could make some form of anniversary remake of the game, maybe turn it into 3D and a upped…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okay, guys... My childhood game is the Locoland (Steamland)! A simple strategy from Russian developers straight from 2003, where we run trains!🚂 I spent hours chopping at her when I was little🥺

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's good to see this old game on Steam, after few hours of game play i can say it's unique game. Game has a lot of mechanics that create new strategies totally fresh and new, most of them revolves around train movement. First half of campaign is challenging and gradual teaches strategies, missions are short but requires good timing, precision so to beat level often i had have few attempts, searching for optimal; strategy it was really fun. Graphics is something that cannot be reproduced…

It's have really interesting game mechanic's. i played often before on steam, up this day i still have original CD with this game. what i wish to see, it would be is remake of this game, or have another game. i really enjoy playing it. even i play now less at that game. It will be always in my heart. Graphic it's simple, and at that time i really was enjoing it, even now i enjoy that graphic. Music it's alos simple but…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best strategy game there is, I do not care what anyone says. If they say this game is bad, then they just suck at it. No RTS games of nowdays match up to the fun and excitement this one brings.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I remember this game from my childhood and I completed it few times on hard mode but it still brings joy. PROS: - very original idea - good graphics and very low requirements - diverse landscapes and weapons CONS: - the AI is a bit retarded and repetitive - there are few bugs - the objective is almost always the same - destroy everything and capture everything
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An underrated masterpiece! This game brought me back to childhood. Locoland (Steamland) it's a intriguing and original RTS game amazingly based on the rails logic. Since I played it for the first time I found it unique and after 2 decades I am still surprised by this game and how genial is the idea, that actually would deserve more. I am still hoping for a future of the genre and more levels/units/mods
