60 of 193 · most liked firstThe game is very cute, and relaxing. I like the style, but there are two things that make me not recommend this game. a) The ending is very abrupt, and is not an ending. It's like an episodic game, but there is no second episode. The story is not complete, and ends with a giant cliffhanger. b) The puzzle mechanics involve unskippable cutscenes that can be at times very tedious. Three to five second animations between every step make trial-and-error guessing of what you're supposed to do very…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you enjoy playing games that tell stories without words then Lilly Looking Through is for you. It is a cute short point & click game about a girl going into a journey to save her little brother. She encounters many obstacles that require her to solve puzzles in order to proceed into the next area. With the aid of the goggles she found, Lilly was able to see another dimension? A parallel world perhaps or simply the past where it helps her to find her way to her brother. You can switch between…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR; Very short and leaves a definite sense that the game (the story) is unfinished. So you will be left feeling unsatisfied. Otherwise it's a really nice little adventure game. I truly do hate to give this game a Not Recommend. It's a cutely animated game, with some pleseant music, interesting locations, and a unique concept. There are a few challenging puzzles (a couple of them are anyway). Though it's fairly simple for a point and click adventure. There are only a few options…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beautiful. That`s the first word that came to mind while I was playing the game. Lilly Looking Through is a short point and click adventure, it can be done in under 2 hours, but oh... what a pleasant ride it is too. The artwork and animation are beautiful; the soundtrack and voice acting are minimalistic, adding to the dreamlike mood of the game. The puzzles are challenging enough to keep you going, but can be solved with a bit of logic. Also, the hint feature is quite good. This is a puzzle…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Despite the nice environments and the almost-interesting time-jump toggle mechanic, this game falls short of a satisfying experience. Drawing on its place as a typical point-and-click adventurem, Lilly Looking Through fails to provide a rich interactive experience, an understanding of the world, interesting puzzles and even an ending. The only difficulty in the puzzles is through obscurity (not realising options were available or that a certain colour is desirable) and tedium. Watching Lilly…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gameplay 'Lilly Looking Through' is a point & click adventure game. In most of those games, you collect items and use them on stuff in the game world or on other items in your inventory. 'Lilly Looking Through' plays more like a puzzle game, though. There is no inventory. You just use items in the game world like levers, cranks, wheels, pressure plates, and so on. On a few occasions, you can pick up an item but only to use it immediately on another item in the world. There is no dialogue with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is just an average short but kinda cute point and click adventure game. As others noted, it feels unfinished and the developer never made a sequel or really anything besides this game. I can't really recommend it when there are tons of other, much better adventure games available on PC and Steam.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lilly Looking Through started out to be a beautiful, and enchanting game, with some decent puzzles. Then it ended. Abruptly. Was this supposed to be the first chapter of several that were never completed? I broadcasted the gameplay and my viewers all felt the same. Empty, unresolved, and confused. The art, and music were wonderful. There was very little story, but just as you felt like you were getting somewhere and somethign interesting happend, you solved the puzzle for that area and its…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR: I would recommend you play this game when it goes on sale. It is not worth paying $10. This game is short AF. I would reccomend this game because it is an interesting point-and-click adventure. It has nice graphics and I love the googles versus no goggles mechanics. If you are interested in simple, short, point-and-click adventure, this is the game for you.HOWEVER, the number one downside of this game is that the story seems UNFINISHED. I won't spoil it for you, but there are a lot of…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short version: 79% The setting, graphics, and the protagonist will charm you instantly, but the incredibly short play time cannot really justify the price of this fun little puzzle adventure. Long version: Lilly Looking Through is a silent game with no narration or dialogues. You play as a little girl who tries to rescue her friend (brother?) after he was swept away by the wind. It is a simple, but really nice tale told without any narration or dialogues, letting the imagery of masterfully…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Enjoying this little piece of art with the kids, it's the first adventure game that we're playing together. Puzzles are still a bit hard for them, but a good way to learn to persist and try everything until they find the right way to proceed.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lilly Looking Through is a unsatisfying point and click adventure game with little in the way of creativity or story. Puzzles are either a bit too straightforward or obtuse, with little sense or excitement behind most of them. The solution to most puzzles is to just change world modes, and for the others its fiddling with button machines until you figure out what the buttons do. The setting is extremely thin, in that you have a goal and a world but nothing beyond that. The world has no…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A really adorable point and click game. Some puzzles got me a bit confused, but over all it is a really nice game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A beautiful point-and-click adventure reminiscent of the Samorost series, with a cool mechanic of jumping back and forth between the present and the distant past. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it because it's clearly unfinished, and suddenly ends halfway through the adventure.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Before I played this... I had a small wee wee, no friends, no girlfriend, depression and absolutely no will to live. None of these things have changed, but the game is pretty good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game suffers from so many basic design problems I didn't even get to the point of playing the game. I guess a few artists got togetter without a game designer and tried making a pretty arty game, a common mistake that many begginers do (even I did it myself). The problems all come down to one thing: the task simulator The game starts with a girl going after a scarf, but for absolutelly no reason you have to click everywhere a bunch of times to figure out how to get to the scarft, there…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It has a nice visual style, it's cute and colourfull, and the begining is quite decent even if it uses the tired old mechanics of swapping betwen two worlds, without really doing anything new with it. For the most part are the puzzles fairly easy, but because there really isn't much you can interact with in each scene, the puzzles themselves are quite random and makes little sense. Especially in the second half of it when there are some really contrived puzzles with colour swapping. It's also…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lilly looking through is a point & click adventure centering around magic goggles that change the world when you look through them. Your brother gets whisked away by a magic curtain forcing you to follow and ultimately save him while overcoming various obstacles along the way. It's an enjoyable short story.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL:DR get it on sale only if you like puzzle games Lovely game with long but well made animations that most people might find sluggish, however i liked the level of detail in such animations. I can say that i do not regret playing it and loved most of the puzzles, specially the goggle related ones. Its quite short (about 90mins if you get the grasp of the colour puzzles) and sadly like most other puzzle games offers very low replayability. The colour puzzles use the 6 basic colours (red yellow…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Charming with terrific art, but very brief--feels like a demo for itself. Not worth the $10, but an enjoyable hour or two.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is not worth the money! Short maybe 2 hour long game. Cute though it may be, if I am paying that kind of money it had better have more to it. I am very disappointed that I wasted my money on this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game might be the best application of the phrase, 'so close and yet so far.' The central gimmick of the game was very cool, the music and scenery was good, and the characters are cute. If executed well this would have been a fantastic game. Unfortunately most of this game was disappointing and in many cases frustrating. A lot of the puzzles made no sense that I could discern. Most puzzle games that I find challenging, I end up looking back at the puzzle after I figure it out (or look…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved this game all the way to the last section... and then was very disappointed. When a game is so well paced, the puzzles fun and well thought out throughout, to then give you an "oops, now we are done!" ending is incredibly disheartening. This game is beautiful, interesting, and fun for 99% of the playtime- but the final 1% makes you wonder why bother, there is no pay off. So, if you are a "it's not the destination but the traveling" kinda person, have fun. If you like to have an…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short yet slow and ultimately dull point and click that feels soulless in my opinion.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought this game thinking I'd play with my 3 year old. I barely got out of it with my life, having had my soul nearly crushed with boredom. Let's be positive, it's great at what it's trying to be, if it's trying to be a 1995 point & click game. But for a Sunday morning play with your 3 year old, I heard games have a bit evolved since then. The cutting edge mix of 3d and 2d art is a bit "passé", the story is nonsensical even for a 3 year old. She likes it though. But gods, the animations are…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lilly Looking Through is a rather pretty point and click adventure game. Sadly I can't recommend this as a purchase (well.. not for more than say $1 or $2) as it's very short (about 10-12 screens) and ends on... kind of a cliffhanger. If you already own it, I do recommend playing for the beatiful mysterious atmosphere and puzzles centered on understanding and manipulating machines. Since you need to get most of these machines set just right, or do multistep actions with them, you can't just…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to like this game, I love point & click adventures, but this one... it's just so boring :/ I kinda liked the puzzles, the art and music are great, but the story and gameplay are actually not engaging at all.I just finished it to see if my opinion changed but it got worse because the ending it's so open, but sooo open that gives you the feeling of something incomplete, like "is this a demo?". Another thing I dind't like was the fact that the character,Lily, moves so slow! is like…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best "I want to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ die of the frustration" Simulator 2015. Play it if you like spending minutes/hours on end watching girl do repetitive tasks at snail speed. At least I got it in a bundle. Not worth 9€. I mean christ FNAF is a Point and Click and its 5-7€ and the replay value on that game is amazing. I'd say you'll only enjoy this game if you are a fan of the genre. Note: The Not Recommended stands from my point of interest, this does not mean I believe this is a bad game, i do not have…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't really want to mince words about it. Lilly looking through is visually cute, and her search for her brother is wholesome. That being said, I absolutely cannot recommend this for a couple of reasons. The biggest and most important is that it literally has no ending. You go through approximately two hours or so of puzzles for a complete non-ending cliffhanger that answers nothing and provides no resolution whatsoever. Developers have got to stop doing this, it's just not acceptable.…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →cute short adventure game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The slow animations makes the game very tedious.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this for my 9 year old niece to play. There have been several parts I have had to come and help her with, but she has been doing it mostly on her own. Cute visuals, and a simplistic style that makes her think more than most of her games or toys. Very much recommended for bringing new players into the genre
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too slow-paced for me, some puzzles not intuitive or enjoyable, and story not deep as I desired.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I actually really disliked this game. I played it a few years ago with my girlfriend and we finished it together but we were both very irritated by it. I remember slow walking and interacting animations and overall was not glad I played it. I was too irritated to write a not reccomended review at the time, but I still remember hating it like 2 or 3 years later. There are other games of this genre that I would reccomend way before this one that are better in literally every aspect. It baffles me…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very pretty game. All background look very nice and relaxing. Music is nice too. Problem is that some times puzzle are not make sense so it takes too much time to try things out because animation is very slow. There is not much story but it is relaxing game. Too short still and wish there was more!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short, boring and forgettable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →These developers are awesome! Last night I started playing this game with my family, and after a couple levels hit a place where it crashed reliably. I sent in a crash report last night, and tonight, after only 24 hours or so, got a detailed response from one of the actual programmers with a helpful and successful work-around! That is the best tech support for a game I've ever experienced. And the game is cool, too.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very sweet little game with some interesting puzzles and really gorgeus visuals. It has a simple story; Lilly encounters an odd scarf-looking piece of cloth, which springs to life and takes her brother away. With the help of her glasses, which teleports her to another time when she wears them, she has to follow the scarf and save her brother. It's concise, never wastes your time and unlike some other adventure games, all the puzzles actually make some sense. It's a really good example of how…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First off, know that this game ends without a real resolution, and there's almost complete silence from the developers about creating a sequel. Beyond that, I originally bought Lilly Looking Through for the same reason I buy a lot of adventure games: compelling artwork and interesting characters. While Lilly delivers on that score, there's some pretty heavy issues beyond that. If you're looking for a lot of narrative, this is not what you're looking for. If you're looking for a lot of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lovely little point-and-click adventure game. Although it didn't take us more than 2 hours to complete, the game is charming and interesting, so it doesn't outstay its welcome - which it might have if it had dragged out any particular part. The background art in particular is beautiful. I certainly hope a sequel is in the works.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The tedium everyone mentions in the other reviews is real. This game ruined my ability to be patient. FOREVER.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The main problems I found with the game were: 1. Animations take WAY too long. You can't skip them with SPACEBAR or ESCAPE, unlike in the Deponia series. 2. Price vs length. For such a short game (3 hours), I absolutely cannot justify the price of 7 GBP. 3. Opacity of puzzles. A number of puzzles, particularly the colour puzzles, are very unclear in terms of what one needs to do. Especially when combined with point 1, it makes the game far longer than it should (without the excessive amounts…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lilly Looking Through is a point and click adventure game. You click on spots to move and items to interact. Pretty basic stuff. Everything you can click on is clear when you're in range because once you hover over it your cursor will change. The draw here is the art and the mystery. You get drawn in initially because you're just thrown into the world and start looking around at what to do and what effects your actions have on the world around you. You use these interactions to progress through…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I agree with some of the other reviews I've seen. This game is fun and charming... but just seems to suddenly end in a way that doens't really feel like an ending, and while most of the puzzles are fun to figure out, some of the color changing ones are a nightmare... and everything has to have Lilly's animation play out, which is cute but should have been speed up for puzzles where it has to repeat and repeat. If you are a HUGE adventure game fan and just want more more more pick this one up…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While this game is beautiful to look at and features a gorgeous soundtrack, unfortunately I can't really recommend it. It's very short (max 3 hours of gameplay) and very easy. It also suffers from slow animations which makes the whole game tedious, especially when you have to repeat certain actions. Also there is no plot to speak of, and the ending is rather unsatisfying.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is an adorable little point-and-click 2D adventure game. The art style is beautiful with cute character design. Music and sound design are also nice. You will have to solve the puzzle(s) to get through a section/location. There are 10 locations. So the gametime will be quite short. It can be completed in about 2 hours or maybe in less time. Also, there are no achievements. The puzzles are hit or miss. Mostly the miss, to be honest. They are so random and vague. The colour puzzles were not…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lilly Looking Through is a 3D rendered (2D static backdrop) point and click adventure game with a whimsical/family friendly theme. The premise is workable enough but the resolution is fixed and there's no working fullscreen so the game falls beneath minimum standards for PC. The art assets are very low res even for 2013, which is a shame as the developer clearly had a decent vision for the game. This is the kind of game that might have done better on mobile. It's really not worth $10…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's cute with great art, but very short and simple. Kind of lacks a real ending unfortunately. A child would probably love this, but as an adult man—I thought it was okay. 6/10
