60 of 189 · most liked firstI have to say this game is decent but it has its flaws, most notably, the movement. There is a big emphasis on parkour from what I can tell which isn't much of deal breaker for me at all, matter of fact, it's a welcome feature to jump from one platform to the other, the problem is how the jumping part is executed. Instead of being able to jump wherever you want, you're forced to pretty much only jump forward and controlling how far you can jump is rather challenging. Good luck getting the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is just the worst platformer I have ever had the displeasure of playing. His boots are made of butter, his suit is made of flubber and he will overshoot any and every platform he can. The puzzles barely exist and can be confusing at best. The story seems interesting, but after three hours of struggling with the horrendous controls, Butter Boots McGee and I must part ways.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The gameplay is pretty lifeless, but the planet itself has a strange pull. It's a game about walking a lot, doing some light platforming, and finding yourself staring at the scenery longer than expected.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is no better entrance to this review, so i have to say this at very first ; Lifeless Planet is a very Tarkovsky inspired game. If you love Tarkovsky's Stalker and Solaris, you should try this game asap. You will propably love it. But unfortunately, it's not without its downsides. I don't want to be so harsh to a game which released in 2014. I can imagine how fascinating experience it offers for that year. But even for 2014, it has some wrong choices in story-telling wise, considering…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played half-way, but couldn't take the platform jumping and bland level design. For twenty bucks, I would not recommend. I had some trouble getting the game settings to not crash the game, until I adjusted the video to a lower resolution. The game does not support my native video resolution, and it would just crash to desktop.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An interesting short story I couldn't even think that the game is so amazing. Pros Great plot. The game design is good in its own way. Simple. Cons Can be boring. Not enough interactive elements or lore. It's good for 2014. This game did cause positive vibes and awakened a sense of curiosity about the plot. Conclusion: 7/10 - If you like walking simulators filled with a good plot, this game is for you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is fine for what it is - but it just isn’t much. I enjoy the corner of sci-fi that’s about space, extraterrestrial exploration, and mystery, and this game scratches that itch a little... and that’s about it. It’s almost entirely platforming with very little puzzling, and while the environments are unique, they’re also low-res in both geometry and texture. You could define it best as a walking simulator. I earned the achievement for beating the game in under 3 hours without even…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is absolutely zero reason to play this game in TYOOL 2026. If I wasn't so susceptible to the sunk cost fallacy I would have bailed on this a few hours in. * despite frequently showing disks indicating the game is being saved, it only actually saves at the beginning of each area, Misleading, and caused me to replay a couple of areas more than once. * if you push a movable puzzle piece into a bad spot, tough luck. Going back to the previous checkpoint won't reset the pieces, you have…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed this, but I wouldn't recommend it. The lengthy "gameplay" is (I think) trying to show off the visuals, but they're no longer as nifty as they were a decade ago. The platforming is mid-tier but never-ending, and the story is (when all is said and done) unremarkable. If there was an abridged cut that you could get through in an hour I think it could still be fun, but as it stands I can't say the 4 hours I invested were well spent.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a hidden gem. If you like urban legends or glitches in the matrix, this game is a keeper for sure. Prepare to open more than one of the many Pandora's Boxes. This one requires thinking outside the box of every day comfort zones.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A sci-fi walking sim game with an interesting setting and a good soundtrack. Could recommend if it was like 5-10$ but at this price it's definitely not worth your money. Game is quite short but felt too long due to it being too easy and too tedious. If you are interested in this, go play 'Deliver us the Moon' it is a much better experience.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The first 1/3 of t game is interesting but becomes a real slog full of puzzles that lack a clear solution and janky physics in platforming sections. Had a cool vision but lost the plot. This 10 hour game should've been 4 hours
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →best game ever, was my childhood game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lifeless is definitely the adjective to describe this game, it has its moments but I found it boring, not sure what kept me playing it, it had potential to be an interesting platformer but the ambience and scenery is mediocre and hasn't aged well i'd say it's worth like 5 bucks not 20 , 3.5/10 experience
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I pretty much bought Lifeless Planet as soon as I read the blurb; and blurb is the most fitting word here as it reads like the blurb of some sci-fi thriller novel and I will make an effort to review it as such. Let's start with the narrative then. There will possibly be some minor spoilers: In telling the story of Lifeless Planet, I feel like a lot of story got cut. At times, it seems pretty disjointed. An example would be that at one point, the character mentions having to reach a specific…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great lore of a game but to be honest 14.99 for this game idk this definitely a $5 and bellow. walking simulator very simple jump puzzle but atmosphere and world build was great but no enough to keep me invested to stay liking the game...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you were waiting for Starfield to explore a new planet, you're too late. Glorious Russia was there first!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lifeless Planet is a bit of a mixed bag. It’s a very simple 2014 game. It's a walking simulator movie game with vaguely interactive aspects. It’s as much of a 'puzzle platformer' as placing every piece of a jigsaw puzzle into the same space until you find the right one and the repeating for every part is a 'puzzle'. There's no difficulty or deduction, if you see a glowing rock and a glowing hole you put the glowing rock in the hole. If there's a button you press it, if there's a pit you jump…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I won't lie and say this is the greatest game ever made, but I am glad that I was able to experience it. This sci-fi walking / jumping sim is carried by its atmosphere and story. Both are beautiful in their simplicity. Check this game out if you're looking for a surprising sci-fi exploration experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Between getting stuck in terrain several times, clunky controls, completely linear story, and very underwhelming plot, I cannot recommend this game. The only question I had when I finished it was "Why did someone make this?" I'm unsure if this is supposed to be some metaphor for how we're destroying our own planet. I'm unsure about a lot of the plot in this one. Puzzles are not challenging with solutions essentially spelled out for you... except for the one jump in the Forest level that is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I paid a dollar for it, and it is probably worth a dollar, but the game is kind of empty and that is the best description I have for it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I mainly enjoyed the mysterious atmosphere transported by the graphics and the small story bits here and there. The controls lack of precision, but the game is not hard. Riddles were fine for my taste, nothing blocking my way for too long. In total the game could have been a bit shorter even as the last levels felt like the Xen-levels in Half-Life. Not necessary. Anyway, a pleasant experience overall.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent, closest I'll ever get to exploring another planet, also .. all games should have a save and quit button like this one :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this some years ago and have tried replaying it occasionally, but I always give up due to the randomness of the jetpack. The platforming is just so annoying. I managed to get to the end the first time I played the game, but some parts took a lot of retries. The replay attempts just weren't enjoyable as I already know the story and don't have that motivation to drive me forward. So, no replayability for me. I just decided to try once again as I noticed that Lifeless Moon is coming out…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well it just goes on and on endless jumping and backpack flying it just got to tedious. I have not finished it, to boring. It would be better if you could get longer flight, so you could get on with it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Atmosphere, A+. Theme: A. Artwork: B+. Screen writing: B. Gameplay: C. Game controls: D. At least it plays smoothly with a crap graphics card. No serious bugs. I like that it saves fairly often so if you die, you respawn without having to go through challenges you already beat once before. Worth the price, but I'm not sure it's really worth the time spent.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed this game more than I thought I would, I really liked: - How it looked - The non-stressful navigating - Fun jumping - Voice acting - Length - Music - Mystery - Non-heavy plot
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lifeless Planet, developed by Stage 2 Studios and published by Serenity Forge, is an atmospheric third-person adventure that blends science fiction storytelling with minimalist exploration and light platforming. Set against the backdrop of a distant, desolate world, the game begins with a mysterious crash landing. You play as an astronaut from Earth, part of a mission intended to explore what was believed to be a life-sustaining planet. But instead of a lush alien ecosystem, you find only sand,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun little walking sim atmospheric adventure. The gameplay itself is nothing special, basic platforming and puzzles. If you can enjoy a game based solely on atmospheric exploration, and you're into sci-fi mysteries. Then you'll enjoy this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked that it took me through a story. Even tho the graphics were old school it was a good game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun little walking/platformer game that's very chill. It's one of those games that's very relaxing to play on the weekend, when it's time to sit down and relax to enjoy some games. Some of the game's mechanic is outdated and you can feel it. Basic puzzels nothing special sadly, story is ok but you have to read most of it to get the full picture. Overall game is fun and relaxing sometimes a bit tedious, but it is an older game so that's expected. "I'm Commander Shepard and I recommend this…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty good, as long as you know what you are in for. It's a simple exploration/story game. There is only three mechanics, jumping for platforming, picking things up (either with hands or with a robotic claw), and pushing things around. While a little janky, it all works. The story was pretty cool, told mostly through audio logs. I would wait for a sale. Game ran fine for me, no crashes.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very interesting project, for sure. I can't say much about it, but it's definitely good and you should give it a try. However, there is one small thing that could be improved: the speed of the main character could be a bit faster for more enjoyment.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's fun for a slow moving, casual game. There's no fighting aliens or anything like that.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Walking/jumping simulator on a strange planet, with some puzzles to continue your journey. Nothing much to explore outside of the main story. Story is meh ok.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A good but not great walking sim. The controls are jank AF and you can get stuck in the terrain and sometimes even fall through it, even 10 years after release (and an updated version), the graphics is also just passable. But the mystery around the plot is enough to keep you going. It's definitly not worth the full asking price of 15€, but get it on a sale,
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You are an astronaut stranded on a planet that was supposed to be full of life, but is completely barren. Mostly walking simulator with some puzzles to solve, the game feels… meh. The visuals are beautiful, but the story feels like a bit of a mess, especially at the end. My husband says the voice actors speaking Russian actually know how to speak Russian, so points to them for managing what the Marvel movies didn’t even bother to do: hire native speakers. Some puzzles are overly simple and some…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good relax game, good story, worth the time
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its a good walking simulator, some simple puzzles, and some semi challenging platforming at times. The story is interesting, has a cool concept that i"m looking forward to exploring further as I progress. All of that said, I wouldn't pay 20 bucks for it. Definitely a game to get on sale
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game for 3 euros on a shady website (for legal reasons, this statement may or may not be a joke) For that small amount of money, I got a game with a very average story (One can pretty much guess the outline of the story after the first hour) an embarrassingly buggy physics (you'll die multiple times by fall damage by just unluckily stepping between two objects) and the controls are also waaay too primitive for a platformer. Nevertheless, during the entire game the scenery is next…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lifeless Planet is a puzzle platformer with an interesting world and decent story. You can notice that the indie game is of high quality with good voice acting and fitting well-made soundtrack. The graphics holds up still today for what it is. The platforming feels good, sure sometimes the controls might feel a bit off but that's more an exception than a rule. The puzzles are on a good and balanced difficulty, nothing is too hard to find but it's not really simple either. Same goes for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is GREAT !!! Not just good... It's phenomenal. But not everybody can appreciate it. It really depends on whether you prioritize atmosphere in your gaming experience, or at least if atmosphere can be enough to let you enjoy otherwise not-so exciting gameplay.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lifeless Planet: Premier Edition Positives: + Nice idea + The storytelling and deeper meaning + Mysterious and atmospheric + Nice retro looking graphics + Good sounds + Fantastic music + The free view in and out zoom (scroll wheel) + Some nice places to explore + Achievements + Cool platforming and puzzles + Good length (about 5 hours) Negatives: - A few parts have low resolution textures - A lot of the same looking lanscapes - Unpolished controls makes platforming a bit frustrating at…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty cool. Quite fond of the "old-school graphics" and the overall scenery. The gameplay mechanics are... Simple? And tbh, the Geyser jump mechanic is complicated to get a grasp on (or I'm just bad at timing my jumps, lmao). Btw, even for a 2014 game, the framerate decreases noticeably in some places, but this does not make the game unplayable. ...In all my wisdom, I thought my toaster could flawlessly withstand the "Fantastic" graphics config.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Completion: Finished the full story in ~5 hours, with 8/15 achievements. I do not see the 100% completion as realistic or worthwhile in one playthrough, since several achievements are collectible-based, death-based, or require very specific replay conditions. Overall Score: 7/10 An interesting indie sci-fi journey that shows its age, but still has a good story and atmosphere Recommended if you enjoy small-scale sci-fi exploration games with simple platforming, light puzzles, and a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game for the premise, but they tell you exactly why the town is there like 10 minutes in and left me with a far less interesting mystery. Not a huge fan of the way the game would give you a "power-up" and then take it away when convenient either. The mood and aesthetic were wonderful though, And I'm interested in seeing more from the dev!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall: Buy on sale. I really like the story. It's a level of unexplained thriller that I look for. The desolateness of the world was also very beautiful. I'd enjoy if it was a never-ending walking simulator on the first level with occasional landmarks. Gameplay: Most of the game is exploring desolate areas with the occasional landmark, puzzle, or parkour challenge. Controls/Graphics: I used an 8bitdo controller for this game and didn't have any problems. Devices played on: PC -…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty good if you like being a character in an interactive story. I actually downloaded Moon and Planet at the same time but played Moon first. I'm glad I did because I would have hated it if I played Planet first. I like first person platformers and Moon has very little in the way of platforming... FAR less than Planet. If there is a third installment in the Lifeless series, PLEASE get back to your roots and make the game more like Planet. More platforming, harder puzzles, fall damage…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The story is somewhat interesting, but it plays out very slowly and I found the jumping sections super annoying. Many people hate on this game for being a walking sim, but I actually like walking sims and have played many, It's the platforming that killed the game for me, especially because the environments are so drab that I often couldn't tell when generic rocks were in the background and which were platforms. Also, in many sections it isn't clear to go and since it also isn't clear to which…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Works great on Linux. This is mostly a platformer game, but I liked the story, the music and simple graphics did not spoil the fun for me, nor did the platforming part.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall quality lacks here and there but i liked it nonetheless. The story and atmosphere were good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoyed Lifeless Planet. You land on what was supposed to be a vibrant world that is full of life, only to discover that it is barren and lifeless. You begin exploring and discover power lines stretching into the distance. This starts a great voyage of discovery, as you explore various alien environments and learn the history of this world's previous inhabitants. It's a very good game. It has more platforming than I normally enjoy in a game, but it ended up being quite enjoyable. This…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cons: Getting the controls to work right sometime. I had to remap all the controls for them to work properly as per the dev said. There's no 'reset to default' to it. The camera got wonky at times but nothing serious. After the controls were fixed, I still expereinced drifiting on occasion. But no where as bad. Pros: Just a great narrative game and enjoy the ride. If the control aspect was an issue, as it can be dishearting to setup if your system gets wonky with it. 8/10 other…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a boring walking simulator, story telling happens by reading only, cinematic clips are bad.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'll give this a thumbs up despite the several times I had to restart due to bugs. The Dead Forest bug was nasty and I got stuck there for a while before checking the message boards and realizing it was impossible to progress without resetting. That's just inexcusable. If you like slow paced exploration games, then I recommend this. Not too much wasted time exploring as you are led along and know where to go. But, it's largely a walking simulator with some puzzles. The story and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I offer a tentative yes to this game. There's a reasonably interesting sci-fi story here, and I think that's the main reason to play this. Some nice world-building around it. However, the controls are a bit clunky and mildly frustrating at times. The 'puzzles' are not at all interesting. The scenery is very sparse - it is 'lifeless planet' after all, but it just makes for a visually really drab game. There's very little in the way of exploring, and its pretty linear. There is little reward for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →RECOMMENDATION Not fit for people with a TikTok attention span. Fortunately this wasn't my case, and I was able to bond with this game, truly. Big recommendation if you like exploration, lonely sections in games, and to boot something up for hours without knowing when you'll want to stop, as this game is a healthy mix of all three. I recommend a high use of the Walk bind, and a controller, otherwise movement will be highly robotic. FULLY FLEDGED REVIEW, END SPOILERS INCLUDED Lifeless Planet was…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just finished the game, loved it. Great if you want something story driven with platforming and simple puzzles.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ran well on my dated system. Interesting story line, but very linear. Not a lot to explore, but a pretty creative backstory that comes alive as you play.
