positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome game from back in the day. Killer soundtrack. FMVs are awesome. You got a campaign with 2 factions: -the humans(soldiers with atvs, pickup trucks with mounted mgs, tanks, they want to take the surface from the mutants). -the mutants(mad max like survivors of a m.a.d. incindent, irradiated humans riding tamed dire wolves, monster trucks, giant scorpions with mounted cannons). There is some inbalance vis-a-vis some units, but its a 20 something yo strategy game and they didnt…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sometimes it works, sometimes it crashes - its poorly optimised for modern PC - go get it on gog
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This classic still remains badass to this day, and while not as popular like the "Command & Conquer" series is, it still remains memorable to those like me that absolutely LOVED it during their childhoods and so forth, and as such I have VERY fond memories of this title, DEFINITELY a solid 10/10, and perhaps well beyond that due to the pure nostalgic vibes I get from this title. The original missions have a very fair feeling to them for the first few missions for both factions, but as you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nostalgia overload!! I was born in 1995 and my dad at the time was really into playing PC games. When I was 2-3 He had acquired KKnD Xtreme on a demo disc - he never owned the actual game. The demo had every feature in the game, aside from the multiplayer capability and a few Kaos mode maps. He would let me watch him play it and we'd sit there for hours. Eventually it got to a point that he'd let me play my own games on Kaos mode, but with his guidance. I didn't know how to use a keyboard at…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Imitation is not just the sincerest form of flattery – it's the sincerest form of learning." ~George Bernard Shaw All the science aside, it does feel like time is inconstant. There are periods when it feels like nothing's happening. Yet there are other periods too. Periods when sh*t begins to hit the fan. The 90s was that kind of period. At least for real-time strategies. In only a few years, the whole market changed dramatically. Boom! It's 1992. Westwood Studios releases their Dune II,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Am I crazy for wanting a remaster of this one? Or even a remake?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Requesting a refund right now. This game crashed after the fourth survivor mission and doesn't even start the first one from the mutants. It's a shame, since I really loved kknd 2 and wanted to experience it's predecessor.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its OK, but the balance is way off. and each mission is really scout out the map, then restart so you can rush to resources in time so you don't get steam rolled by the A.I. its charming, and a fun soundtrack but I don't think it has any replayability.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nostalgia play - I played the demo of this game in the 90's and never bought it because I was poor and back then buying niche games was not easy - there was no Steam and I did not live near a computer store. I recently saw this title listed in a Youtube review of old RTS game that are still around and worth playing. So, decades later I finally bought the full version on sale! I enjoyed this game. It is an early PC RTS from mid 90's and doesn't have many quality of life features that later…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The mission briefings are pure gold. Tip for new players - get snipers and take things out from a distance. Great game, runs fine. Goes well with beer.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its an old jewel.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is amazing, one the hidden gems from back then. The soundtrack is awesome, the briefing missions have humour and use real actors, the gameplay is still good (although too clunky for current standards). It has also some challenging levels for those who are up to the task. Overall, the game is well worth it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played it as a kid in the late 90's and early 2000's. Loved it then and love it now.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like og command and conquer, you'll like this
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Old School strategy. Computer is hard to defeat
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Brings back memories from my childhood. Could play this over and over again and not get bored.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Glad to find this game in Steam) New reason to replay this fun RTS)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very old RTS and one of the best in its day well worth a buy 8/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For me this is the absolute classic right next to C&C, Dark Colony and Dune 2000. Im so glad this older classics finding their way on Steam ! Works fine on my win10 only the Steam overlay is not working so you can't make screenshots :/
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this game is awesome and it hold up to this day as one of my childhood favs
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The predecessor to KKND 2: Krossfire. For me the main game that is much more evolved and has its unique game machanics that makes me love it. But sometimes i enjoy this one, too. <3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game looks like it plays in 800x600 which is fine for a retro game. However there aren't any strict settings to keep the mouse bound inside the main display on multi monitor displays. When I clicked out anywhere near the edge of the screen I'd immediately crash. Overall was fun for the missions I played, game didnt take itself too seriously and was very reimicient of the original CnC games.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is not fun like C&C, StarCraft, or Dawn of War. This game is very difficult. The reason being is, the computer cheats. The computer does not play by the same rules that are set for you. When placing buildings, you are limited by needing to place them very close next to existing buildings. The computer is not limited. It can rebuild buildings on the other side of the map, very far away from their base. This is frustrating because after you destroy defense towers and move on, It will…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was touted as a Mad Max-style C&C clone back in the day. My friends and I used to take turns playing the demo on my Pentium laptop in college. When we got our first desktops, it was one of the first CDs I copied with my CDRW and we all played. We didn't have internet at the time and none of us had considered setting up a peer to peer network to play multiplayer games. This game came out at a time when RTS games ruled the 90s. We had Dune 2000, Command and Conquer, Starcraft, Age of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →most games work on windows 10 that say windows 7 this does not. i used to love this game just recently brought command and conquer remastered and loved it this game has not been noticably touched. no resolution options screens out of whack and if your epileptic i would suggest sun glasses. be good to see it playable but like i say i do have windows 10 so maybe it works on 7
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thanks steam for having this game and we can remember our kid times on our 1st pc's. Plus its a very well game for it's time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Brings back memories. Great game! Although it always crashes when I finish the final mutant campaign. argh
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →★★★★★ An absolute RTS classic KKnD Xtreme is absolutely amazing. I played the original when I was a boy, and now I’m playing it again as a 43-year-old man, which says a lot about just how good this game really is. Yes, the graphics are obviously showing their age compared to modern games, but if you can look past that, the gameplay itself is still fantastic. The mechanics, the atmosphere, the units and the overall feel of the game are just as enjoyable now as I remember them being all those…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Einfach ein wirklich großartiges RTS! Setting und Einheitenvielfalt macht nur Spaß!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Krush Kill ’N Destroy Xtreme, developed by Beam Software Pty., Ltd. and published by Ziggurat, is a classic real-time strategy game that reflects both the creativity and the roughness of the late 1990s RTS era. As an expanded version of the original KKND, it builds on a familiar foundation of resource gathering, base construction, and large-scale combat, but distinguishes itself through its pacing, setting, and slightly unconventional approach to faction design. Playing it today feels like…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game.. I've been playing it since 1998, when I bought my first PC, an AMD K6-2 with 350mhz, 8mb of memory and an incredible 8gb of HD. It's incredible how it worked on all versions of Windows without any bugs or installation requirements. To improve it, they could upgrade the online mode, which still requires a fax modem card. lol
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great game, plays well on windows 11, really loved playing this game from my childyears again. nice campaign
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →crashses doesnt load. Why do steam sell crap that doesnt work
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very basic RTS game with basic controls but very fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →+ Higher screen resolutions in the year-2026 version of the game, such as 1920x1080 + Reasonably good soundtrack + Retro gameplay experience - An update of the year-2026 version of the game deleted locally saved games - Build 24756421 (the latest build at the time of this review) of the year-2026 version of the game generates a very loud buzzing sound when playing videos and during gameplay (Linux+Proton), rendering the game unplayable - Doesn't support Steam achievements - Refresh rate is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PROS: Fast unit production, Good amount of resource collect, Awesome background music, and Less memory needed (Only 500MB) CONS: No rally point and hotkey. No mini map at first since you need to upgrade your building 7/10 for me
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Old school RTS. Classic fun
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Reporting for duty! Still have the original CD-ROM of this game, a classic!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nostalgic for sure - I loved this back in the day - but the rose-colored glasses have fallen off and I think it's pretty weak. A bad interface and awkward base-building hinder it from its full potential. It also has poor faction / unit design where more expensive units (particularly barrage units) are simply outright better, and there's none of the clarity or direction of similar games like Warcraft or Command and Conquer, where every unit has an obvious role in your composition. It does have…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Evolved new quest prophecy will hang when i build almost maximum units and almost complete the quest. Note that the original KKND quest is not playable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After so many years 0 improvements in terms of graphics and multiplayer modes . Also doesnt support 16:9 ratio :( . I cant recommend this game .
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The great nostalgia reincarnated :) Krush Kill and Destroy :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Back in 1997, while everyone else was obsessing over Command & Conquer: Red Alert and StarCraft, some of us were in our dimly lit bedrooms sipping high-sugar sodas and jamming out to Krush Kill 'n Destroy Xtreme. If you are a zoomer or younger gamer stumbling across this late-'90s gem on Steam: welcome to real-time strategy history. This isn't a modern, hand-holding RTS with gentle learning curves or infinite pathfinding. This is pure, unapologetic, post-apocalyptic chaos where Mutants fight…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Units, interface, maps, action, destruction, special futuristic unique robots. I'm very happy about this update afer 20 years. Thanks!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →wow kknd , Games from childhood memories
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →✨New sci-fi game in the directory: Krush Kill 'N Destroy Xtreme by Beam Software Pty., Ltd., published by @playziggurat.bsky.social exothermic.co/krush-kill-n... Welcome to Hell, soldier. aka 1997.
unlabelledView post →运行时候无端的跳出,几乎每一关都会跳出,需要重新运行,每次重新运行超级慢,还没有当初的中文界面和语音,除了极度怀旧的,不建议购买
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I know it is old and very cheap but it does not run. Constant crashes, stuttering badly when it does run.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game still holds up a little bit right off the bat but its best to download the unofficial patch to fix the bugs and balancing issues.. be careful when playing this game because the AI is relentless and will keep you on your toes.. especially when playing as the survivors because the evolved are overpowered asf 9/10 do recommend it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love this game so much
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →1.1 hrs - so far I love everything about it. It is very different from the usual Command & Conquer experience. Much faster and it feels a little dumbed-down as the units do not show any advantage/disadvantage against other units. More is more and better firepower kind-of-thing experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great old game. lots of good times had while playing as a kid i have win 11 it took some doing to get it to run properly but there is help in the discussions area. now runs great
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →amazing game but it doesnt freaking work on windows 10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want to recommend the game but it has a huge flaw. Like all old school rts it has one big flaw and that the AI is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ broken. Som missions are easy then later in the AI becomes like ♥♥♥♥ YOU hard. It´s like it never runs out of resources and can build even with out a damn outpost (constrcution yard). I manage to do mission 10 after 20 tried but Hell it took a while to whipe the AI out becuse he kept building over and over again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game crashes if you skip any cinematics. Intro is long af and will crash if you skip it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Keeps crashing even after applying many of the so called fixes makes it almost unplayable IMO
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice old School game. Unlikely the devs have not removed the bugs of the 90s version. For example game crush after finish a mission or a oil tanker does not start his work. Despite this bugs i love the game espacially the funny mission briefings.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game deserves a remake, it was one of the best RTS games of the 90s.
