unlabelledView post →I didn't really like Kingdom of Heaven (2005) but years ago I heard @crobertcargill.bsky.social (firmly) assert that the director's cut was a considerably better film. So I watched it and guess freaking what.
unlabelledView post →Watching Kingdom of Heaven (director's cut) a movie about an uneasy truce in the middle east being broken by a power hungry moron who is repeatedly advised exactly how his foolishness will play out. Glad we've learned a few things in the past 900 years.

unlabelledView post →When 54 came out it was a fine film—good, but swallowed up and eclipsed by the sheer quality of other 90s indie gems like BOOGIE NIGHTS. The 2015 director's cut, however, is a work of genius. Like KINGDOM OF HEAVEN director's cut good. Snap this up before it's gone.

unlabelledView post →The director's cut of Dark City, which removes the opening voiceover by Kiefer Sutherland (among other opening edits, particularly) is a strong improvement. Also, I think, the director's cut of Kingdom of Heaven improves the movie immensely. But as John notes, its not frequently so.
unlabelledView post →EXCLUSIVE: I’ve been pleased to see several film favorites reach #4K this year, including TOMBSTONE, MASTER AND COMMANDER & KINGDOM OF HEAVEN. So I’m thrilled to say WBDHE is bringing another I’ve long advocated to the format in 2026: the Wachowskis’ SPEED RACER (2008)! @thedigitalbits.bsky.social
unlabelledView post →I'll actually go with a slightly hot take - Kingdom of Heaven. Not because it's a particularly accurate period piece and far from a perfect film, but the setting feels quite *alive*. The production design (Morroco interiors are sick) and most of the costumes, for example, are incredible.

unlabelledView post →Ashley has informed me that one of my ancestors is depicted on screen in a movie called Kingdom of Heaven, so we are now watching it while I rush through painting a punch of models last minute for sealed
unlabelledView post →No film ever benefited more from a director's cut than Ridley Scott's Kingdom of Heaven.
unlabelledView post →Tonight's main event is underway, a film from 2005, the same year Toshi was born. It's the 4K Director's Cut Roadshow version of KINGDOM OF HEAVEN!
unlabelledView post →It's extremely funny to use screenshots from Kingdom of Heaven, a film that depicts the Crusades as ultimately doomed.
unlabelledView post →Watched Kingdom of Heaven (again) earlier this week while I was taking care of the baby. Ended up talking about it so much that Cari wanted to see it too. So now we're all watching it. As far as the baby is concerned, its the only movie.
unlabelledView post →Picking a random film from my collection to show off for no real reason! Year 2, Day #6 "Kingdom of Heaven" (Ridley Scott/2005) I've only seen the director's cut, which is fucking awesome! I am told that is the way to go. Some epic stuff here with a great cast. Check it out!
unlabelledView post →Kingdom of Heaven is a movie made entirely for your nephew to write a manifesto about
unlabelledView post →they’re calling Kingdom of Heaven (director’s cut) the single most Hollywood lib-brained 9/11 movie that isn’t Revenge of the Sith (mostly complimentary)
unlabelledView post →Watching the director's cut of ROBIN HOOD (2010) and only having seen the theatrical cut before, it is INSANE how much better this is. Much like KINGDOM OF HEAVEN, proof that there's no point in editing down Ridley Scott for running time, you just make the movie worse.
unlabelledView post →friends, day of days, this is a good day. NEW EPISODE WEDNESDAY!!!! & it's a doozy... a crossover w/ @herberthistory.bsky.social, we talk about the film KINGDOM OF HEAVEN (about medieval crusades). featuring @lollardfish.bsky.social @tlecaque.bsky.social @greenleejw.bsky.social & @profgabriele.com
unlabelledView post →I do quite appreciate “Kingdom of Heaven” as a film that prefigures Ridley Scott’s later fascination with an absent God, here reflected in absent fathers and masked kings.
unlabelledView post →Including photos from Kingdom of Heaven as if that movie and the king in the picture he posted aren’t all explicitly anti crusades. I guess he’s media illiterate on top of everything else. 🫠
unlabelledView post →#liamneeson #digitalart #painting #portrait #fanart A quick study I did of Liam Neeson in the movie "The Kingdom Of Heaven". its a little rough, but I like it
unlabelledView post →I never saw Doctor Zhivago and so I have been trying to remedy that for the past two days. It's rough. Maybe the slowest movie I have seen since Kingdom of Heaven (Director's Cut).
unlabelledView post →Why Directors cuts matter. Studio releases. Blade Runner is an average film at best. Kingdom of Heaven is a confused and incredibly shit mess.

unlabelledView post →Right wing hiatory larpers are getting away with pretending TROY was a good movie because we didn't beat their assess hard enough for pretending KINGDOM OF HEAVEN was a good movie
unlabelledView post →Kingdom of Heaven (Director's version) is not Ridley Scott's best film. But it is his most beautiful.
unlabelledView post →**HOLY FUCKING SHIT** - I genuinely don't know why I've never watched KINGDOM OF HEAVEN before now - but having just finished the Directors Cut, I can confidently say that it's Ridley's second best film after THE COUNSELOR.
unlabelledView post →Work in Progress. Spent the afternoon working on this angry lad's skin with my emotional support Crusader Film Epic on in the background, Ridley Scott's Kingdom of Heaven 🤖🖌
unlabelledView post →In the movie Kingdom of Heaven, the hero tries to convince a friend not to go on an unwise attack, saying "you go to certain death," and the guy responds "all death is certain." True enough, but the hero is going to live for years and the other guy had just one more day. #JoniErnst #Medicaid
unlabelledView post →KINGDOM OF HEAVEN an absolute banger on the big screen. Every time I watch this movie it feels like watching a miracle.
unlabelledView post →I love Kingdom of Heaven *because* it's a bad movie and I laughed really hard all the way through your ep. And I learned more history. Wins all around. Also, I've got a copy of Oathbreakers sitting waiting for me to start Christmas vacation (and have the brain space) to dive in. 🙂

unlabelledView post →Teaching the film "Kingdom of Heaven" next week. Student down the hall is watching it on his laptop and I just heard him say very loudly, "OH Dammmmnnnnn"
unlabelledView post →Ah, time to watch "Kingdom of Heaven" again. The Director's cut, obviously. Seriously underrated film, that, after the changes.
unlabelledView post →I had a blast talking about the Kingdom of Heaven Extended Edition on the show! an absolutely baffling movie wherein one of the last scions of the old school Hollywood lib tried to save the soul of the west after 9/11 and the sins of the global War on Terror
unlabelledView post →They’re doing a 20th anniversary screening of the Director’s Cut of Kingdom of Heaven at AMC theatres May 14. I was just saying how much I would love to see this film on screen again. Eva Green shared a post, and now I have tickets.
unlabelledView post →Seeing that Odyssey movie getting absolutely wrecked by comments after seeing the trailer brings me joy. The last good epic was Kingdom of Heaven and that suffered in its theatrical cut. If you’re not going full Lawrence of Arabia sweeping shots & colour saturation, gtf out of here with that.
unlabelledView post →Watched the Kingdom of Heaven Director's Cut. Haven't seen it since the original version came out. I still don't like the plot. Main character just keeps winning for no reason. The film is still really beautiful though.
unlabelledView post →By accident I came across a 3-hour movie called the Kingdom of Heaven by director Ridley Scott. Timely. It's about the Crusades in the 1100s. The parallels with the present are uncanny, including the characters. A thousand years later & we're right where we began. The insanity & futility never end.
unlabelledView post →I am going to once more recommend Kingdom of Heaven to FFXVI fans. As a medievalist, it is not a historically perfect film, but I find it the most beautiful and poignant depiction of a knight who finds purpose despite unfathomable personal loss.
unlabelledView post →Met a friend’s parent tonight who’s a university professor of medieval history, and I asked her is she has a favorite film representation of medieval times. Her answer: “No. They’re all bad. But I’ll tell you which one is the worst: Kingdom of Heaven.”
unlabelledView post →Plus the documentary film Kingdom of Heaven taught us to take a high guard.
unlabelledView post →Pete Headcase reminds me of the Crusaders who kept yelling "God wills it!", in the movie Kingdom of Heaven, as their sacred argument for war in order to kill the Muslims. This blood lust in the name of Jesus is what White Christian Nationalism is about.
unlabelledView post →Even subtracting the historical component of it, that's literally not how that movie portrayed Baldwin! Kingdom of Heaven literally argues the opposite of what this guy is saying
unlabelledView post →And I have given @cavatina.bsky.social Kingdom of Heaven brain worms. The way that film rewired my brain at 20. I was already debating switching from art school to history at university b/c I always wanted to be a historian. It’s why I became a medievalist.
unlabelledView post →"You go to certain death." "All death is certain." Kingdom of Heaven is such an underrated movie.
unlabelledView post →Oh and in case anyone is wondering, no, the director's cut of ROBIN HOOD isn't as good as the director's cut of KINGDOM OF HEAVEN is, but it's at least a decent movie, where the theatrical cut was incoherent.
unlabelledView post →I watched Kingdom of Heaven, which is ridiculous in various ways. It must be an indictment of some kind that this film simplifies tremendously and yet probably *did* leave most viewers knowing more about the crusader states.
unlabelledView post →Kingdom of Heaven director's cut (the only one I've seen) plays like a borderline religious experience for me. Incredible film.
