"The Mambo Kings" (1992), "Philadelphia" (1993), "Interview with the Vampire" (1994), "Desperado" (1995), "Assassins" (1995), "The Mask of Zorro" (1998), the "Spy Kids" films (2001-2003), "Shrek 2" (2004), "The Legend of Zorro" (2005), "Expendables 3" (2014) #film 🎥

unlabelledView post →Boring answer is the canon is usually "a Zorro movie" so we're about a decade out from The Legend of Zorro fitting as the explicit one in the timeline.

unlabelledView post →The Legend of Zorro: I don't know how Alex "I Ruined Star Trek" Kurtzman could have been in the writing team for this fun movie which, shockingly, does not suck... but, shockingly, it does not suck. Why'd it do ½ the box office it should've? Well, it's VERY anti-Confederate.😬 #FilmSky Verdict: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

She shows the same skills again in a scene where Morticia has a sword battle with Wednesday (Jenna Ortega). #TheGoreYouKnow @themutantfam.bsky.social

unlabelledView post →Definitely watch THE MASK OF ZORRO, just because it ls a damn good movie. THE LEGEND OF ZORRO isn’t as strong BUT we do reference it. (You don’t need to see the films to understand the story!)

unlabelledView post →Like Mask before it, there simply isn't enough complexity to all this to justify a longer runtime than, say, Serenity or Taxi Driver. Like the first movie, there's no part of The Legend of Zorro I actively dislike. A tighter edit for better pacing would be welcome... but this is a mere quibble.

unlabelledView post →...reap the full benefits of a 4K transer, with it's warm and dusty palette, dark shadows, and lots of fire and explosions. I'm less concerned with getting THE LEGEND OF ZORRO on 4K (the transfer isn't reviewed well), as it is the lesser movie (though till fun).

unlabelledView post →A clever and dextrous sequel, and a good adventure movie to spend some family time. I really liked the first film, one of the best modern swashbuckling films, and I didn't expect anything too inferior from this one, which has the ability to create a good continuity with its predecessor. The action takes place a few years later, during the ephemeral Republic of California, which had achieved independence to join the USA. In the film, Diego and Elena's marriage is falling apart, and they end up…
positive · AI labelView post →I finally got around to watching this yesterday. I'm sorry to say that this movie is a laughable sequel to the first one also starring Bandaras and Jones. It would be hard to convince me that the same director was involved with both projects if I hadn't read it in the credits for myself. Zorro 'never kills anyone' with his sword. He smacks them on the backside, slaps them on the face, or flips them on their butts. This doesn't stop the villains from killing folks; they have a field day while…
