What people are saying
Mixed reception; praised for unique concept and charm, but criticized for bugs and short length.
Many players enjoy the game's unique blend of 911 dispatching and pinball combat, calling it innovative and charming. The pixel art and soundtrack are frequently praised, and the narrative is seen as a strong feature with good humor. [2][7][11][12][13][18][24][25]
However, many players report significant bugs, janky controls, and poor pinball physics. The game is also widely considered too short and overpriced for its current content, with some calling it a demo or unfinished. [3][6][9][10][16][27][28][31][32][34][35][36]

I probably shouldn't but it's the only gambling I do, so meh. I present you now, the leftover keys from my last couple pulls. I won't lie, I don't think most of these games are going to be top quality, but maybe there's something that looks a lot better to you than it does to me, or maybe you just need a distraction to get through Thanksgiving. negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Karma City Police is a very unique game, and it's worth picking up if the price is right. It's a mostly straightforward narrative about a Newcomer to the Karma City police department. You get hired as a 911 dispatcher and end up handling a total of 15 911 calls during the game, where you basically ask 3 questions and allocate your very, very limited resources to try and help people. In between each shift you're tasked with basic fetch quests to advance the plot, and occasionally get into…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It looks and sounds great. It's a bit janky in its current state but definitely has potential to become something great. Game is currently very short but at this price it's hard to complain about it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game felt stale and pinball minigame didint fit the ton it was going for got this game in a bundle
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's A 30 min demo. I don't buy demos
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →if you are sensitive to flashing lights or arent a fan of pixelated gore and violence, i dont recommend the game. the gameplay of karma city police consists of answering 911 calls and assisting the citizens of karma city. however, thats not all you do! as the newcomer, you take on the classic errand boy role. you run around, taking on side quests whether you like it or not! however, the game actually has a pretty interesting storyline about corruption and abuse of power. the game has a few…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There's an element of comedy and satire in the incompetency of the Karma City Police Department, but it's hidden beneath the bugs, glitches, and inconsistency of the story. It was a little too short for me to enjoy in any meaningful way, and it's all over the place. I was expecting more call shifts and pinball fights, but the game was sorely lacking in..well, everything. Would not recommend.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game might be cheap but it was still a letdown.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really just not great. Pinball "fighting" game is a neat idea but has a poor implementation. Dialogue is a drag, and the pacing of this game is soooo slow.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Although I like the concept of this , and I am a sucker for pinball adventure games, this game falls short. The movement of the character is clunky and unresponsive. The dialogue is also not presented in a very clear way. The resources for the shifts are nearly impossibly strict. Most egregious of all is the pinball physics. The collision detection of the ball is completely bugged. The ball doesn't react as expected and often clips through the flipper and flies horizontally, losing the ball.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Be forewarned; the pinball is spotty, and the game has many bugs (including a pause menu that failed to load, and that REQUIRES you to save from said menu), but this game has a little bit of charm and nice subtext. The phone calls, while simple, were the highlight for me, but I wish there were more dialogue options, and more focus on THAT element. Instead, the RPG/Pinball/Mystery fusion here is a little muddled. Don't pay full price, but enjoy on a saturday when you have time to deal with many…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Initially I wanted to play the game because it's an indie developed by a (single) Brazilian and I'm a Brazilian, too, so I wanted to support a fellow national indie game-maker. But once I saw what it was about I was really curious (I don't think I've ever seen a game about answering 911 calls) -- plus I really like Radiohead. 1. Overall experience: Answering the calls is REALLY fun. Getting to see how people sound (without actually hearing them) in terms of state of mind, analyze that, who…

unlabelledView post →Nice little game with pinball combat, CYOA dispatch missions and an overarching plot. Could use a bit more content, but good fun for a few hours if you catch it on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice story and unique pinball combat. If you're looking to 100% this game, make sure to save before your 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th shift and save near the very end and use the guide. Just a pain for me since I missed the perfect shift achievements on my first play through and was just spamming space in a new game to get them. Also the final boss fight is actually hard, but like a BS hard with the map just trapping and ejecting balls. Be prepared to use your items for more lives
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Karma City Police is a neat little JRPG with a few minigame elements inserted here and there! You play as a dispatcher, answering calls and deciding what to send to the scenes, depending on the severity of the case. Use your problem-solving skills to determine whether a call needs an officer, a kit, a car, a mix of the bunch or none. The power is in your hands. There's a great story too, involving people in high powers and the corruption that follows. Not only are you a dispatcher, but your…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Things I really enjoyed about this game: Calls answering game mechanics is fun. You can never be sure you are making the right decision, and the outcome was always unexpected. Great soundtrack. Game characters have different and interesting personalities. Nice humour and funny jokes. Cute pixel art graphics. The mix between the game history, gameplay and mini games. It feels like you are really working in a police station, and it is your first day. Things to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has the potential to be very special when it's finished. Great sound and a cute art style. It feels like Chrono Trigger, Papers Please, and 3D Pinball had a love child. I can't wait to see what the developer does with this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game with lots of potential. Its narrative is a strong feature: there're things happening around the main character that give a feeling of a well constructed world, such as NPCs talking to each other and the news on TV. Also, the main character has a strong personality, shown in his interections with others. Answering emergency calls and playing pinball, Karma City Police has a great sense of humor, along with clean visuals and good sound track.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun little game, with a nod to games like Papers Please The game still needs a bit of work, it is REALLY short right now, but fun in the areas that are complete The "fight" section needs some work, you can die twice or even three times in a row just because of the way the ball goes up All in all, this is a charming little project, with cute graphics and some good humour Give it a try if you can, the game is so cheap it is worth it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Shaping up to be a really good game. Only took me about 15 minutes to complete (I forgot to exit, hence the hour and a half playtime). I enjoyed my time though, the premise of mixing a pinball battle system with the 911 operator role is an innovative one and I think will be really cool once it's more fleshed out. A "shake" feature would be nice during battle, with maybe a tilt feature too so you don't abuse it too much to hit your target. Some of the text overflows from the boxes, and there are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some developers spend too much time with unnecessary dialogues and chores before showing the game itself. This one is a very good example. Also, its not the 90's anymore. Dialogues and pop-ups should be skippable or have faster animations. I lost interest even before finishing the tutorial.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't you dare pay $15, but as an unfinished game it's totally worth $1 if you get it bundled somewhere. Love this game. Wish it was finished. Needs more gameplay... it really wouldn't be hard to add more, but if it wants to be a pinball game it really needs to fix the physics (the ball really loves to head to the left side of the screen.... and to occasionally teleport beneath the paddles). But I legit love the emergency calling segments; they keep me guessing in a good way.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I put in about an hour, got about 34% completed, stopped for the night, booted it up the next day and loaded my save file, and for some reason my 'current mission' went back to the first mission. Felt like I wasted my time playing this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is good but not good enough for a good game and it was so close consider a trash game and i recall how many time i fall to the pit as those flippers are a menaces as they do work as shown as the flippers' size is different and the gap is too big and it is hard to catch if it went straight middle and the pinball design is rough not refine enough for it to be a good game and there is a lot of death trap so i give it 3/10.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Karma City Police is a bit of a mess. I love games that try new things, and mash up different genres. Karma City Police just does not do that very well. There are some bugs where your settings are not saved, so you have to change them every time you load the game. Plus, both mouse and gamepad controls are both clunky to say the very least, with no option to change the button assignments. The pinball is functional... but is again, clunky and artificial. I am a big fan of pixel art games,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Karma City Police is an unusual, sincerely made 2D retro pixel top down adventure game with elements of "job simulator" games like Papers Please. Part of the game involves acting as a police dispatcher handling calls in a Papers Please-esque minigame, the rest of the game involves 2D top down adventuring to solve the mystery of the game. Conceptually this is fine, if a little short (and overpriced for what it is), but the technical execution is a dogs breakfast. And the dog had an upset…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a really fun game that mixes RPG elements, with pinball fights while you have to deal and solve the crazy events that happen around you at the police station... just a regular day. XD
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I haven't played it a lot yet (because I'm waiting for the final version), but I've been enjoying the game so far. Apart from the interesting missions and story, it has nice pixel art and the most different combat I've ever seen, a pinball combat lol Oh! Btw, it's developed by just one dude. And that's impressive!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A different story driven game. Took me one hour to reach the end of the early acess version. Will come back for more to see how everything ends.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quite ambitious indie game. The graphics are reminiscent of my game boy advance days, very well detailed. The music is good and fits the situations nicely and the gameplay until now is diversified and engaging. Wish the character could run, though. Aside from that, everything is really good! Recommended!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I see potential in this game. Love the pinball mechanic and sending units to situations.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice Demo. Something didn't work, I wrote a report about, it was fixed the next day. Can't wait to see what you will make.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Karma City Police is an inventive narrative adventure that turns the everyday responsibilities of a police dispatcher into something considerably stranger and more entertaining than the premise initially suggests. Developed by mecagames and published by indie.io, the game combines adventure, RPG, simulation, strategy, resource management, and even pinball mechanics within a compact pixel-art experience. Rather than attempting to reproduce police work realistically, it uses the setting as the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice and short game with pretty pixel graphics. Story gets dark really quick so if that is your thing, go for it. Pinball battles are fun, wish there would be more of them.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cult short game. I like it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →gameplay combination, just nice!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this game as part of a fanatical bundle, primarily so I could get the discount on the other games that I wanted. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised with this game, with the surprisingly sad and dark humor-laden story, and the pinball combat is unique to the point where I'd like to see it in a longer game with more focus on it. If you get the chance to play this game, especially on sale, do it. You can complete it in three and a half hours or less.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game feels like a fun B-Movie. Don't expect anything great, but nice to just waste a couple of hours. The pinball and dispatching are nice ideas, but if you expect great gameplay from it you'll be disappointed. See it as B-Movie with interesting bits and you'll have fun. Maybe get it on sale or part of a bundle or something.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do not. Lose. The final fight. Trust me.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some options in the game exists but not accessible, some bugs. Overall short and okay-ish story with pinball being the mandatory minigame. If you have a few hours and a buck or two to spare, sure. But nothing amazing in there.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After playing all the content available in Early Access twice, I asked myself if I should do an analysis on the available content and if I should recommend the game to others and the answer is absolutely yes! The pixelart of Karma City Police is very beautiful and crafted. Impressive how only a developer can deliver a competent job. I really enjoyed the two main aspects of the game: resource management, where you must make your decisions wisely to take care of the population of Karma City,…

unlabelledView post →That was really fun one. At first glance - oh god not another RPG maker nonsense. Turns out nothing like that! As a newcomer and new dispatcher obviously you don't do that much of a dispatching - everyone one wants you to do sth first, Those small quest are not only really fun but also develops entire story. As in every good cop show small elements and pieces are coming together towards the end and solving entire mystery. Great for evening or two.

unlabelledView post →Simply not a good game. I'd go as far as saying it's a bad game. So many very poor game design choices were made that I can't excuse it. 60% of the gameplay is "go there do that" in a poorly designed map that feels alot like a developer not giving a ♥♥♥♥ and trying to pad out the dead space between actual gameplay (i.e go over here, you came? go get me coffee before I talk to you. Get it, oh okay you broke the coffee machine, go to the garage to get the mechanic to fix it, okay now come back,…
