60 of 100 · most liked firstIt seems the game is trying to be similar to Monkey Island, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Imitation is sometimes considered flattery afterall. But, I will say, sometimes the dialogue just makes not much sense, while humorous at times, its sometimes a bit flat. Also, the story has some serious holes in it. Sometimes plot holes can be excused, but these are of the severe type that if you catch them you'll be wondering, "Where did he come from?" or "How does he know all of this?" And its…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a pretty fun point&click adventure game. It has nice writing, decent puzzles, and a main character reminiscent of Buzz Lightyear. Kinda short though, lacks voice acting, and the art resolution is only 1024x768. I'd say get this one on a sale, and if you're a point & click adventure game fan you won't be disappointed.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rather short but well made adventure game. The humour, graphics style and music seem heavily inspired by Monkey Island and The Dig. The quality of these, in addition to the animations, are quite high. It only took 5 hours to complete, which included getting stuck for an hour on a puzzle where you have to pick up an invisible item which is a part of the foreground scenery. That one part slightly tainted an otherwise well designed game. Another potential deterrent for some is the lack of voice…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kaptain Brawe is a reminder that not all adventure games are equal…in fact, some really suck. No, it’s no Jolly Rover, but it’s no Maniac Mansion, either. But dammit if it doesn’t try. You can switch between characters, it has a somewhat similar look and feel to Curse of Monkey Island if it was fused with the later Space Quests…but it doesn’t entirely work. The puzzles often don’t make much sense and as a result, you have a lot of obscure puzzles mixed with a bit of ho-hum dialogue. You could…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Started off as a fun and goofy adventure game with some genuinely difficult puzzles, even on casual mode. Ended with a really rushed, nonsensical, and not to mention pretty offensive ending that just left a sick taste in my mouth (it includes a crossdressing joke and the main villain getting creeped at when they get put in prison. Yeah.) In addition, it's pretty short, so there's not even enough content in between that to make it seem miniscule.

PLOT Kapitan Brawe is proud to be part of the Space Police, as an agent he carries out his work out of altruism towards space travellers; he would like to protect them from danger and enforce the laws. Space is not always a safe place, gangs of marauders wander around looking for victims, one of these is the terrible Kribbs: a group of pirates determined to plunder and enrich themselves at any cost. In command of his spaceship SPS…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Surprisingly - one of the best adventure games of the 21st century in the "Indy" category. Cateia mostly makes and publishes rather "hidden object" casual games, but here we have a classical point-and-click adventure game. In fact, it was created originally by Naphtalite Productions and personally by Petar Ivanček - I remember playing the demo version back in 2006. But he did not finish it, so it was Cateia who has completed and published the game (and still supports and updates it, wow!).…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Put your serious side aside for Kaptain Brawe because this dim-witted hero is a few cans short of a six pack. This is about as basic a point-and-click adventure as it gets with standard gameplay elements and very simple puzzles. There's not a whole lot to rave about since I really didn't find the story all that amusing or funny. It's definitely not the worst I've played, but I can't say it left an impression either--good or bad.

Kaptain Brawe, a Space Police officer will embark on a journey filled with quests, conspiracies and general chaos, as he follows the lead of two kidnapped alien scientists. Set in a beautiful, hand drawn alternative 19th century world, Kaptain Brawe's cartoon appearance will suit younger, as well as mature players, who enjoy games filled with humorous storyline and challenging puzzles.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A decent adventure game. The story is linear and simple, you can guess for ending. Most of compartments in this game is decent except for musics, they are good ones, making me felt like I watch old adventure movie.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is fun for what is there. But what is there is not much. I was stumped twice in this game, and did not consult any sort of hint system or walkthrough, and I still beat it in 75 min. If this game was 3 times longer, it would have been a great game. As it is.... it's good for 3 dollars. I bought it 75% off for 5 bucks, and I still think it was overpriced. Edit- Upon reading other reviews, I will say this game tried, and I don't have bitter memories of playing it, I just wanted a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A point and click adventure game, not a bad one but it suffers from some minor translation problems. The dialog is all done through text so you need to be prepared to actually read it to understand what your doing. Very much in the style of the original Monkey Island, it is quite short however.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Charming hand drawn graphics. Forgetable music and dialouge. There is no voice acting, and the puzzles become lame and do not make any sense. Do not recommend. 2/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was rather enjoyable. I feel like this game is a very good starting point if you are new to point and click adventure games. The reason for this is the game is not too difficult, but there are some pretty good puzzles that make you think (I believe the puzzles are what define this style the most, since other aspects are easily found in other styles of games). I think that there are some games out there that take the puzzles too far to the point of frustration for veteran point and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Drawing some parallels to Monkey Island yet still not being quite there Kaptain Brawe is an interesting adventure game. On one hand you could honestly dismiss a lot of its shortcomings and flaws based on lack of polish and overall budget limitations team obviously had to work with, but I think that would be an all easy way out when there are some things under the hood which simply didn't click for me. I will say something upfront first, though – this is not a bad game. You play as the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kaptain Brawe: A Brawe New World is a comedic point and click (PnC) puzzle adventure game with no voice overs. For people who enjoy PnC games like the classic Lucas Arts games (Monkey Island series, Day of the Tentacle, Sam & Max), you'll feel right at home with the controls and humor. For those who aren't too familiar with PnC games, this is a decent introduction to the genre. The game offers two different modes, casual and adventure, depending on if you want clues or not. The clues…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a terrible point and click adventure. Simple, Short, and not too frustrating. Worth a play through.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one that I recommend only with some rather strong reservations, and on the condition that you get it on sale with a massive discount. For one, this is a game that I replayed twice in an effort to add to my in-game achievements total. I still can't really say why, escept that it was relaxing. But, in any case, that should tell you just how short it is. When you add in the fact that it also is a bit glitchy, causing a need to sometimes go into the auto-saves and load the most recent one,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its nice, not really bad for my first point and click adventure, but its really confusing so just take some walkthrough and enjoy the story, and otherwise nice joke inside the game though.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Point & click adventure game with annoying puzzles that are just guessing what the developer could've wanted.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a bit amateurish, it's certainly very campy, but I actually enjoyed it. Some riddles could have been better, but overall it's a decent adventure that encaptures the spirit of the grand old adventures from like 15-20 years ago.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Summary A short classic point and click adventure game that is quite fun and humorous. Pros + Quite funny + Short and sweet Cons - Stiff voice work Overview Kaptain Brawe: A Brawe New World is a pretty old classic point & click adventure game that doesn't really try to break the mold, working with what already works and the game is plenty fun and funny albeit quite short. As with most point & clicks there are puzzles to solve but they aren't too difficult given enough time to figure them…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun little adventure with some minor annoyances. The graphics are great and I'm glad they decided years later to add full voices, as without it I wouldn't have played it. The story itself is pretty standard but entertaining enough. The puzzles are mostly also not that hard. It's not very long, but that's OK, not every adventure needs to be 10+ hours, and a small one is nice to finish in one evening. But I had one annoyance, a lot of it is inventory based and combining items, so you try…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kaptain Brawe is a kind of steampunk/scifi classical point and click adventure game (like Monkey Island). Instead of inventing the steam engine, Watt invents a space drive, resulting in a quirky alternative future. The game works properly in full screen but with fairly low res assets. While that's not a game-breaker, the way it crashes every 5 minutes is. Regretfully, I can't recommend the game because it's not stable on newer versions of Windows.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No voice acting, all speech is just text. I stopped after 2 minutes because I find adventure games rubbish if there are no actual voices doing the speech.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gotta tell you... As a longtime fan of the genre, I typically love any game that follows the classic point and click RPG format of King's Quest, Kyrandia, Full throttle, etc. I love that these games are coming back, with a great resurgence in the Tell Tale games series, The Silent Age, and more. However- Kaptain Brawe just sucked. While the artwork is nice and certainly original, the puzzles have remarkably little logic. A lot of the game made no sense, and seemed to depend upon you having some…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →really boring... feels like it's trying to be monkey island and doing a bad job. don't waste time downloading it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stupid game. Not even sure why I bought it. Guess it was cheap.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kaptain Brawe is a 2D point-and-click adventure game in a "space" setting. You're mostly on different planets that are very much like Earth so it doesn't really feel like you're in space. The game has 2 difficulty modes: adventure and casual. In casual mode you can get hints if you need them and in adventure mode you can't. That's pretty much the only difference between them. As for the controls, you have just 2 options to choose from: look at something and use/pick up something. The game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A nice point and click adventure that really presents the old Lucas Arts games a challenge.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice old school point & click adventure.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Charming and funny adventure. Not as good but in the vein of The Curse of Monkey Island. The cartoon-like art-style is ok. The puzzles difficulty is pretty balanced with a bunch a little bit challenging but very rewarding. Had a great time and would recommend to anyone who had already played the best point and click games.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting adventure that has become even better over time
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun point and click adventure, the puzzles aren't too excessive or elaborate. A nice relaxing adventure that you can take at your own pace. Give it a shot if you're looking for something to pallete cleanse between bigger titles.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short but fun adventure game inspired by classic LucasArts adventures. The art style and humor are great. I had fun reading all the dialogue. The game reminds me a bit of Monkey Island. The puzzles are a decent challenge. The only downside is that there is no audio for the dialogues except for the German version, which was added in a recent update. Kudos to the developers for supporting and updating this game after all these years.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A humorous and classical point & click adventure with decent length and value. Nothing unique, but entertaining enough to be worthwhile for fans of the genre.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While the art and voice acting are well done, the story falls pretty flat, and the puzzles along with the overall atmosphere of the game make Kaptain Brawe feel like it was made more for a younger audience.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a fun little point-and-click adventure similar to the LucasArts games of the early '90s. It is obvious from some UI quirks that it was designed for phones/tablets, but it plays just fine on PC. I wouldn't call it a must play, but if you see it on sale, give it a shot.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →boring. well, it's a point and click.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let's just say this is an average game. It would have been really better with voices... My advice : buy it in promo, as it is really short.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A surprisingly good indie point and click adventure game in the style of the old school classics (namely, Monkey Island). The puzzles were inventive (for the most part) and the art style/music was great. All in all, a wonderful nostalgic experience for anyone who loves adventure games. It has a hardcore mode for adventure game veterans (which I personally recommend playing), and a casual mode for people new to adventure games. The humour is a bit quirky, but it made me smile. The only downside…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I went in expecting a Monkey Island knockoff and mostly got one, though a decent one. The art has real charm and the soundtrack stuck with me more than I thought it would, but there's no voice acting at all, so be ready to read everything, and a few of the translated lines land awkwardly. My main gripe is the length: I was done in about four hours, and a chunk of that was me hunting for an item blended into the background scenery rather than solving anything clever. The puzzles are mostly…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A decent point and click game with nice artwork. If you want to unlock all the achievements, you’ll have to play through the game twice (once in each of the two game modes). The developers added a Linux version in 2023, which is better late than never. It works without any issues.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i m in love with the incompetent captain brawe . He s kind and resourceful . and a handsome presence. in the end , i loved the ending, it has a lot of fun , charming characters , clever puzzles ( i did struggle for a while ) i think for myself as a point n click guy from the space quest maniac mansion era this is on par with for example Lucy dreaming. Recommending it in all the point click nerdo groups as very good. 9.5 /10 ps: also in love with Luna but do nt tell my boyfriend lol - kudos to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros: old-school point-n-click adventure Cons: old-school point-n-click adventure This game is short (< 3 hrs), with an interesting and captivating story. Puzzles are fair and interactions mostly make sense. Nevertheless, play it only if you enjoy old-school point-n-click adventures

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought this years ago to play on my iPad. Nostalgia driven, as I've always enjoyed these point and click games, I repurchased. Worth the money, found it as enjoyable this go round. it's a little gem so many have overlooked.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you're a fan of classic point and click adventures there are other better options out there. As others have mentioned, the lack of voice acting is unfortunate but spoken dialogue wouldn't be enough to save this game and I think hearing actors have to recite Brawe's nonsensical puns and misogynistic lines would further count against this games quality. The puzzles are a bit too simplistic even on Challenging Mode to the point that it feels like you're just clicking through until the end.
