positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This one feels kinda clunky and interface is hard to navigate at first. Gamepad support is bad but you can set it up. Music is mostly the same like in second game. There's nice variety with ships and some custiomization. If you like completing stages and feel some challenge this one might be for you but I recommend to play the second game as it's much better version!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →REALLY really loud and overly stimulating experience 8/10 no notes
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game taught me 3 valuable life lessons: 1) More guns is always the answer. 2) Rockets solve most problems. 3) If in doubt, add napalm. Who needs therapy when you can upgrade your space ship until it becomes a flying war crime?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nostalgia Gameplay, Excellent Music. The main theme has been living rent free in my head for more than 10 years
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a classic, I pretty much grew up with this game and occasionally would re-visit and never run out of new way to enjoy it. The details put in this game cannot be stressed enough, although most of them are ludicrous and over-the-to but they just fit in the context of the setting so yea it just works. Other than that, the soundtracks are without a doubt the most distinguished part of the game that keeps the excitement going for a long period of time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"We are beer. You will be intoxicated." Jets'n'Guns Gold is a side-scrolling, space pirate bounty hunting shoot 'em up game set in a distant future. You hunt various criminals and other wanted entities (the storyline is not THAT important, who needs a reason to shoot stuff?) through a variety of locales: space, planet-based levels, underwater, only in a scuba suit, etc. - all in the name of space justice. While the story is enjoyable, that is not why you are here. As mentioned, the levels are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fight deranged space pirates. Escort hot scientist babes from a fleet of macho creeps (and some slimes). Destroy viruses as big as a truck. Kill Richard Gere. Slaughter through a whole metal performance (don't worry they liked it). Steal from the beer cubes. Save the universe from destruction. Be the hero.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've tried to play this game on and off for a literaly decade and each time I give up - this time for good. The game is rather difficult but it's more of a problem where that difficulty comes from. It's hard to read what are enemy projects, what are yours and what is just flaming debris from destroyed ships. To make it worse, enemies constantly spawn from all edges of the screen so you are forced to either hover near the center, or, more likely, memorize enemy wave locations so you don't clash…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Every couple of years I do a playthrough of this gem, it's probably nostalgia but this is my favorite SHMUP sidescroller. The game SCREAMS Czechia. Back when I was a kid, I found the amount of weapons and upgrades mind blowing, and it still is today, I don't think any shmup compares to this one with the amount of available guns. Also, the older I am the harder the game gets for some reason, I don't remember having this much trouble with some levels. Most of them are fun but every 5 or so levels…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The best shoot em up game hands down. I played this game countless of times when I was a kid and I still play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →so many memories revisited... thanks for this amazing game. it was a good trip to my childhood memories.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nostalgia <3 Never gets boring
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game, while offering interesting RPG elements by customizing your ship, is incredibly and artificially hard and difficult. The damage by touching enemy ships or colliding with terrains is very tremendous and the main major contribution of damage received, rather than the usual enemy's bullets and missiles. The developer has stated that there is no intention to lower down the difficulty of the game, only interested to maintain the balance of the game, meaning he wants to keep the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly for 3 bucks, this is a steal. I might even recommend it at 8 bucks and that says a lot for a 2004 game released on steam 10 years later with minimal changes. Even if you arent nostalgic about playing it 20 years ago, its still a great game that holds up today. It oozes so much personality unlike its sequel or most modern games. You get 43 levels, an insane number of unique and creative enemy designs, a ton of awesome weapons to play around and experiment with, devices you can upgrade…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It looks, sounds and plays great! It's hard to believe this game was released 16 years ago! The only thing betraying its age is the limited native resolution of 800x600. Despite that it's one of the best horizontal shmups ever created and it still holds true today - in 2020! * kickass soundtrack by Machinae Supremacy * tons and I mean TONS of content (43 levels, hundreds of different enemies, 70+ upgradeable weapons, special devices, different ships and so on...) * each level is different *…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A complete nostalgia pick for me. I played original Jets 'n' Guns waaay back in the day on PC and remember enjoying it, even if it was super difficult. Seriously, playing it right now I don't even understand how did I managed to beat it back then. So Jets 'n' Guns is a bullethell shmup set in a ridiculous space setting with niche references and absurd humour. The player is a retired war hero that became a freelance bounty hunter after war ended. The starts out by doing low-level jobs for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best games for when you want to just relax and enjoy mindless destruction with awesome soundtrack, absolutely worth the price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It has Jets and Guns what more do you need.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Childhood game, little underappreciated gem of humor, enjoyable guns and ability to customize your ship loadout however you want.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just saying, but I do have a curator page. If you like my remarks about games, you can find more of them here: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/44130985-TDP%27s-Gaming-Escapades Being a PC player, I did not have access to famous shmup games such as R-Type, Galaga, Gradius and Thunder Force. Granted, there were many worthy shmups available on PC storefronts such as Airstrike 3D and Astro Avenger (which featured music tracks from who later went on to compose music for The Witcher 3),…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love this game so much (especially since it's Machinae supremacy whom has made the sound track for it!)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →tl;dr play Stargunner instead I decided to fire it up again, nearly 10 years since I first played it, and oh well, it didn't take long to remember why I was disappointed. In fact, level 2 is where it all came back to me. It's tedious. Very, very tedious and very difficult. I don't like the heat mechanic, and the fact that touching a solid kills you almost immediately. What is this, a game for the NES? Redoing the same level over and over is not fun when the level is long. Visually, it's nice…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this game for free with another bundle, and normally I'd just move on, but I had a look at the reviews and it sparked an interest in giving it a go... and I'm glad I did. First impressions are of some serious nostalgia; if you were around for the early 16 bit and PC days, you'll recognise the garish palette from when how many colours you could push on screen was still as sign of the best hardware, just before the How Many Polygons? era took over. Gameplay and graphic design is…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Horizontal shooter with a fantasy military theme. Good controls. Grind and upgrade to progress. Nice graphics and presentation. Very good audio. Quite challenging, upgrading is mandatory to proceed. Listed on the [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/40858110-Shoot-%2527em-up-Database/]Shoot 'em up Database
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is no other game I love as much as Jets'nGuns. The gameplay loop is simple: you are just an insignificant heap of metal in the deep void of the outer space - and everything in front of you is your nemesis. You are a mercenary, strong enough to be a hero - and if you think that a game, that can be beaten with mouse only, should be either easy or boring - you are entirely incorrect. You find yourself in one of the worst renditions of humanity's future that you can imagine - not too…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I found Jets'n'Guns by pure chance and was interested because of its similarity to Tyrian (a similarity that's no coincidence), which was my favourite shoot-em-up at the time. Jets'n'Guns is my favourite shoot-em-up now. Like Tyrian, Jets'n'Guns puts a lot of focus on loadout management, but its complexity greatly exceeds what you usually see in this type of games - and since there is no "game over" and item buy and sell prices are identical, you can experiment as much as you want. There are a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's incredibly visually busy to the point where it's impossible to tell where things that can hurt you are. The enemy bullets themselves are almost impossible to see. The graphics resolution is also extremely low making it even harder to see anything. The movement controls are extremely janky to the point where you feel it's not your fault if you hit things. This was so bad that I just had to alt+f4 and post this review.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still the best sidescrolling shmup of all time! Would highly recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very chaotic and difficulty is a little random but the great music, good art, good replayability, ship customization and it's numerous weapons makes this one of the best shmups on pc :) If you'd like to see what we're playing next with regular updates, or request to review a game, feel free to follow us at: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/35688508-Ember-Works-Reviews/
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't let its age fool you—Jets'n'Guns Gold has aged remarkably well. The visuals still hold up, the soundtrack is excellent, and the gameplay is just as addictive as ever. Blasting through waves of enemies while upgrading your ship never gets old. The only downside is the Steam achievement list. Earning 100% requires a fair amount of grinding and dedication. That said, if you're an achievement hunter or simply enjoy a good challenge, you'll likely find the grind rewarding rather than…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Play it on easy and enjoy.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A certified hood classic of over-the-top destruction and pure side-scrolling fun that’s still worth playing today, despite the modest looks. Pretty accessible by the genre’s standards (you don’t need to be a bullet hell god to ace it) yet challenging enough to always feel engaging and satisfying. Features a lot of weapons, upgrades, devices or other build options and promotes actively experimenting with them yet equally rewards dodging and shooting skills in the moment. Also a quite expansive…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good Shmup. In fact a Classic!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun and bloody shoot-em-up with 100/10 soundtrack
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game shares the same sense of humor of an 8-year-old on his grandpa's moonshine and I love it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game, a little clunky, some what rough around the edges, good god some of these achievements are mean. In short, I liked it, but did it have to be some damned long and slow for a shmup?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved the music, and that was easily my favorite part. As far as shmups go? It feels... Kind of slow paced. There's a bunch of levels which makes it just feel like a slog at times. But, hey... It's still pretty good, and worth it for the soundtrack.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Does not work for me. Starts up to a black screen.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ childhood and it plays just as well as I remember it! You guys should give this game a try, but fair warning, it's not as forgiving as other games like it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →We killed the time travelling washing machine
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gameplay just feels extremely clunky. The lag (or some kind of weird acceleration or something) is obvious with a mouse, but still feels bad with controller too. But controller support is very limited, and despite being able to actually cycle through the menu with a d-pad, you for some reason must use the analog stick to actually move a cursor over each menu option.. so you basically have to switch back and forth constantly. The gameplay itself is just very sloppy, cumbersome, laggy, just not…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hold fire. And don't release it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cheap game, worth the price. Superb soundtrack by Machinae Supremacy. (MaSu for short) Classic 80's style side scroller, with the usual suspects: Aliens, zombies, tv shows, commercials, flying feet, rats riding rockets, sentient beer and other oddities will come flying at you. You'll be wondering wtf the devs were smoking to produce this combination of oddities. Normally games like are controlled with the mouse. In this case however, I would strongly recommend just pressing the LMB and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Clicked "full screen"... It just permanently magnified the view ~500% Impossible to even find menu and undo. even after restart.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Truly a masterpiece. It's a shame not enough people know about it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you don't know: The band Machinae Supremacy did this soundtrack, which is why its so good. Check them out. I bought both these games just for that.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like roguelikes, Zorbus. If you want a game like Descent, Overload. OpenTTD is a perennial favorite transport sim game I play. Jets'n'Guns Gold or Sine Mora EX if you like side scrolling shooters.
unlabelledView post →Delightfully retarded. Requires you to hold down the attack button, but I managed to set up an attack toggle using Steam Input after a lot of faffing about. You will need to use the mouse to operate menus & shops. Lack of Steam Cloud support is annoying (you will lose your save data if you uninstall).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Back in the mid 2000s, I spent several hours on the original version of Jets 'n' Guns, and I was curious to check if it was only nostalgia. The answer is: yes and no at the same time. It was judged one of the best indie shmups on PC at the time, likely because there simply weren't many alternatives on PC yet (outside of emulation of other systems); the flashy presentation helped. The levels, beside some moments of pure carnage, are far too long most times (there are passages that look pasted…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best shmups out there. Fun story, tons of content, tons of weapons, amazing soundtrack. Be prepared to eat ♥♥♥♥ in some missions, though, the game can be quite unforgiving at times.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's fun, it's classic, the controls, UI can be a mess. But overall, it's a fun game, To Shoot To kill To destroy To see the enemies explodes, ship crashes into each others To listen to the Shop OST without actually playing the game 7/10 I am loving this one 2nd one is better
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As an avid adorer of left-field designs, the actual substance within Jets'n'Guns Gold lies in its unserious plot and humoristic visuals. Other than predictable jokes and outlandish graphic art, the gameplay is mind-numbingly simple and unchallenging to the point where players will merely devastate enemies the half-second they enter the screen as the average bullets in a level fired begins to exceed 30K in the mid-to-late game. Rake in Grass attempted to mitigate this issue by designing levels…
