Inside never tells you what to do. It can't be grinded. It doesn't have a shop. What it has is a start, an end and a 4-hour single player adventure in-between. A…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Inside hooks you from the very first moment. Without uttering a single word, it pulls you into a bleak, mysterious world that builds tension and curiosity at every turn. The game’s atmosphere is unnerving in the best possible way, its haunting visuals, subtle sound design, and minimalist storytelling create an experience that feels both oppressive and beautiful. The puzzles are clever and well paced, challenging enough to make you think but never so difficult as to break the flow of gameplay.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →-----------------------------------------❤️🧡💛💚💙💜---------------------------------------- Even after all these years I'm still not sure exactly what this game is trying to say. Something about existing purely to serve corporate overlords? Regardless the tone INSIDE carries is excellently done, you can almost smell the oppression and despair in the air as you wonder through this dark almost colourless world. It gives echoes of 1984's dystopia and the Matrix's human cells, a…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So I'm not really sure what the story of the game wanted to tell me, but the atmosphere of this game is excellent. The darkness is oppressive, you can feel the despair in this almost colorless world. Sometimes it was also really intense, when something was chasing you. I would recommend this game if it's on sale and you like platformer/puzzle games.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You start Inside just vibing, and five minutes later you’re questioning the meaning of life while holding your breath in a swamp. The atmosphere is thicker than anxiety at a family reunion. The animations are smoother than butter sliding down silk. No dialogue. No HUD. Just pure emotional damage wrapped in artistic perfection. Every sound, every shadow, every awkwardly-timed jump feels like it’s whispering ancient secrets straight into your spine. By the time I reached the ending, I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →5/5 STARS! Inside is a hauntingly brilliant game that proves how powerful storytelling can be without a single line of dialogue. From its unsettling opening moments to its unforgettable finale, every scene is meticulously crafted to build tension, mystery, and intrigue. The game's minimalist art style and exceptional sound design create an oppressive atmosphere that never lets up. Its puzzles are consistently clever and always serve the pacing rather than interrupt it. Every new area…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A masterpiece in its genre. Graphics, ambiance, animations, environmental storytelling, all exceptional well made. Low frustration levels if you fail. Controls are decent (I used a Stadia Controller). This game looks good and feels good. It's a joy to follow this boy's adventure through this world and explore what's going on. The ending leaves room for a lot of interpretation. A must play if you are a fan of 2.5D puzzle platformers. Great performance on my ROG Ally 2023 with XG Mobile RX 6850m…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I forgot how mind-blowingly beautiful INSIDE is. From every little detailing of the animation to the intense city atmosphere, sprinkled with intuitively designed puzzle and actual story telling across the environment, I believe this is the best indie game ever created. The Ending to me is a little disappointing but this is one of the game I just want to play, and appreciate the art. Everyone should at least play this once.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I went into INSIDE expecting a short indie puzzle game… and came out completely blown away. The atmosphere is unreal — dark, mysterious, and insanely immersive from start to finish. There’s barely any dialogue, yet the game tells a story that sticks with you and makes you think long after it’s over. The puzzles are clever and satisfying, with just a few moments that might slow you down a bit, but nothing frustrating enough to ruin the flow. Everything feels smooth and intentional. And…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →INSIDE is a short but unforgettable puzzle-platformer. The atmosphere is eerie from start to finish, the puzzles feel smart without being frustrating, and the ending really sticks with you. It’s one of those games that says a lot without any dialogue simple, dark, and very well-made.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →9.9/10 Always INSIDE, never escaping. Breaking free from control means you are truly “free,” even if it sometimes means death. A game steeped in dystopian themes, where every element collectively constructs a terrifying, oppressive, and nihilistic dystopian worldview. The greatest triumph of INSIDE lies in its extensive use of environmental storytelling, allowing players to “visualize” the plot and narrative in their minds. LIMBO also employs this technique skillfully, but INSIDE is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →INSIDE is well worth your time to fully play to completion. It's a puzzle platformer with a dark and twisted story kind of like this developer's other game LIMBO (which I also recommend). I died to dogs more times than anything else including one self inflicted death that I'm glad the devs took the time to add a unique death animation for because it was exactly what would happen when you turn around and tempt fate with a pack of dogs when you're already safe.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love this platforming and puzzle game, but i still have soo many questions about the lore of the game, what really happens to the kid we are playing and all the children's in this game. I still dont understand
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was my third time playing Inside, and it still amazed me. The way it tells such a brutal, mysterious story without a single word is incredible. The atmosphere, the quiet tension, and the final build-up leave you in shock and awe every time. Definite recommendation.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The gameplay itself is simple with just run, jump, push objects and solve puzzles but the way it’s presented makes every movement feel dangerous. I’d be hiding from dogs one minute and figuring out some weird puzzle involving machinery the next but the thrill and suspense of what might show up always kept me glued. The game barely explains anything in terms of story, no dialogue, no text, no hand-holding. And the ending? Absolutely wild. I won’t spoil it, but it left me sitting in silence for a…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Inside is often lauded as a masterpiece of atmospheric storytelling, but beneath its polish lies a deeply cynical experience that confuses trauma for depth. Calling this game a puzzle-platformer is a mischaracterization: death is not treated as an abstract reset, but as a voyeuristic event. The developers have put an unsettling amount of effort into the physics and sound design of a child’s body being strangled, mauled by dogs, or crushed. With the failure states of a puzzle looking more…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →INSIDE is a weird game that epitomizes showing in lieu of telling. I am unsure if it is a commentary on fascism, unrestrained capitalism, the animal-industrial complex, mass manipulation, weapons of mass destruction, human experimentation, or something else entirely. Perhaps it presents multiple aspects of authoritarianism in order to build and accentuate its oppressive atmosphere, which is punctuated by moments of (often intense but not unjustified) violence. I think at its literal and…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Easily one of the most intriguing and spectacular games I have played. There's just something so immensely satisfying and captivating with everything about this game. The music, visuals, ambience, pacing and storytelling all come together to create one of the most unique and thought-provoking experiences in video game media. Hats off to the developers. 9.7/10

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great ride, weak finish. INSIDE's setting is incredible. It has tons of personality, and it's intriguing and polished. The color palette is well-chosen, the animations are fluid and clean, the art direction is simple but extremely immersive, and the sound design is great, as is the soundtrack. In conjunction with these aspects, the game plays really well with camera angles and different perspectives to create a cool 2.5D experience. The amazing lighting also helps unify all these things…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the few games I would call truly unforgettable. Inside achieves something remarkably difficult: It is simple without ever feeling simplistic; Its music and sound design are restrained but deeply expressive; Its guidance system teaches you what to do without constantly telling you; and its level design gradually raises the difficulty without ever feeling unfair. But what stays with me most is its narrative. The game trusts the player enough to leave things unexplained. It does not…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Big step up from limbo imo, seems like the right step forward after. Cool mysterious story that doesn't really explain itself, up for interpretation. Look forward to future work from the devs.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game did everything that Limbo couldn't do for me. I thought the atmosphere in Limbo was immaculate, with Inside, Play Dead has somehow managed to level up their game! The sound design is immersive and the puzzles i felt, were more "fair" than in Limbo, in which certain level felt frustrating and the stripped down nature of the game wasn't helping it either. They've perfected it with this game. The story is abstract and leaves a lot of interpretion to the player, and while it is fun…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I watched Bugonia last night, thought I was already mentally unstable… then I played INSIDE today. Now I’m questioning life, reality, and whether my sanity was ever real to begin with. It feels like I accidentally walked into a psychological horror film where everyone is sad, everything is grey, and I’m just a tiny kid trying not to die every five seconds. And the ENDING??? Why did I turn into the Monstro Elisasue creature. Why did I roll around like a giant screaming meatball. Why did I enjoy…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Inside is a dark and spooky 2D platformer that focuses on puzzles. This game looks great; it has a mysterious vibe to it. There is no combat in the game, just puzzles. The story of Inside is dark and does not tell you a lot; it shows you a lot. If you like games with a dark setting that are unsettling and mysterious, try this game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →beautiful game. my favorite game being little nightmares, this game was such a good find. i would recommend playing through, definitely worth the time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great game. At first, I thought the game would be carried by graphics and storyline and not the gameplay, since you're moving basically in 2D (forward and backward), but the game has some very interesting gameplay aspects! The visuals are epic, some parts have the most amazing music, the story is mysteriously engaging. As a Tarsier Studio fan, this game is amazing. The price is good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →🏆 (100% Achievements Unlocked) Inside is a great follow-up to Limbo. However, it is quite short considering you can finish the game, unlock all achievements, and see all endings in under 5 hours. 9/10 (I would have rated it higher, but I experienced strange crashes whenever I used my second monitor while playing. The only way to prevent this was to minimize the game client window before clicking over to the second monitor.)
