There wasn't anything else like it and as a huge fan of horror, I loved the dark and foreboding atmosphere so much. GREAT game. Happy Birthday LIMBO 🖤

I laughed a LOT while playing as I died many times in many stupid ways. Done in 5 hours, highly recommend it! No review, I'll be editing and uploading my playthrough for YT! 🖤✨

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Limbo is pretty short and minimalistic, but with its dark, mysterious atmosphere, clever and challenging puzzles, black-and-white style, and sometimes macabre, dark humor in the death scenes, it totally won me over. I highly recommend it.

unlabelledView post →I finished this game, but I'm still not sure why. I've been playing games like this for a long time, and I love all kinds of puzzle games as well as pretty much any 2D platformer. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this one. It took me about 3.5 hours to finish, although I was sick while playing. I honestly think it could be completed in under 2.5 hours without rushing. The problem is that I don't think there's even 45 minutes of actual content here. The character moves so slowly that it…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →⭐ “10/10 would emotionally spiral again” — A totally normal review of Limbo You play as a small boy in a world that clearly woke up and chose violence. Within the first five minutes, I learned three things: Gravity is not your friend. Spikes are very committed to their job. This game hates children. The aesthetic? Gorgeous. Black-and-white, moody, artistic… like a Tim Burton film that forgot to include hope. Every scene feels like a nightmare that went to art school and graduated with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →9.0/10 (Atmosphere, Creativity, Art, Scenery) 6.0/10 (Gameplay) If you approach LIMBO with an experiential and immersive mindset, simply savoring it once, you'll gain an exceptional gaming experience. But if, like me, you also aim to unlock every achievement, you'll inevitably find it tedious and monotonous. The term “limbo” originates from Latin, meaning “the edge of hell.” It's a religiously charged term referring to the liminal state where the souls of virtuous non-Christians or unbaptized…

unlabelledView post →The game overstays its welcome. It’s a style over substance game. Zero story. Because it has no story, it is filled with timed puzzles that waste the player’s time. These puzzles are timed pixel perfect puzzles, where if you don’t do it absolutely perfect, you have to do it all over again. There is no room to breathe or for error. I did not use a guide to play this game and I went in blind. The part that I stopped letting the game waste my time, was when I had to press a button to try and use…

unlabelledView post →Limbo has a way of capturing someone’s attention without any context or doing anything special. I remember being glued to the PS3 version, the same is happening today with the Steam version. Not only is the style striking, but a lot is happening at a rapid pace. You need to pay attention to the environments if you want to stay alive for long. Here also lies strength as the game is very good about little details and cues to warn you of potential dangers. Sound effects, lighting and random moving…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I truly love how eerie, gloomy and unsettling the game is. I appreciate that it doesn't hold your hand and challenges your brain despite its simple mechanics. During the first blind run some puzzles may seem easier than others; you might predict what's coming, but then the next step offers another surprise. It was one of those games that had been lingering on my watch list for ages and ignited the spark at the right time. I wouldn't be surprised if Limbo was created by the spawn of the devil…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think it's a strange game, don't get me wrong, I was going to write a negative review at one point, but after thinking it over, I decided to recommend it because structurally it's better than Little Nightmares. I mean, it's not very complex, but you do have to be clever to solve some of the puzzles, which I like. The atmosphere is okay, passable, a black and white that leaves you with a lot of questions. I like to talk about history and I didn't understand a damn thing, but that's typical…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The art direction in this game is very cool, the dark and creepy aesthetic is pretty nice. That's about as far as the positives go. As for the puzzles, they're either super obvious as to how you're supposed to tackle them or "I need to look up an online walkthrough for this bit because I didn't notice the hidden box at the other end of the section". Most of the actual difficulty comes down to the execution. This wouldn't be as bad if the character wasn't so slow and the controls weren't so…

unlabelledView post →LIMBO is a dark and atmospheric puzzle game that’s simple but really well done. The world feels creepy and quiet, and figuring out the puzzles is satisfying. It can be frustrating at times, but finishing it feels worth it a classic indie game for sure.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →🌟 [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/45575657]Follow Ainsel Reviews - Curator for the weird & lovely 🌟 “LIMBO” doesn’t tell you what it is. It infects you instead. You stumble through a monochrome purgatory where gravity disobeys, bodies twitch, and every sound feels like a confession. The boy isn’t searching — he’s reliving. Every death feels too specific, too rehearsed, as if guilt itself built this playground. It’s a place where your worst memories play hide and seek, where the…

There's almost no dialogue, no hand-holding, and somehow I stayed hooked the whole way through. I definitely got flattened by traps more times than I'd like to admit, but every death just made me laugh and try again. It's one of those games that's easy to recommend because it doesn't waste your time. If you've somehow skipped it like I did, fix that. Just... maybe don't look up the puzzles unless you're really…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the first game I was left tempted to leave a review on just because of how infuriating the gameplay was. Keep in mind this review is coming from an avid LoL player who has experienced what the ultimate rage is like in a game before. And just when I thought no other game can faze me, this game comes in with a good sale, which promptly tempts me to sacrifice my food money to give it a try since it looked interesting to me. I do consider myself to be a calm and collected person usually,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Almost like "Hansel and Gretel" but with puzzles (and monochromatic!)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okaaay, yeah, for the game that kickstarted and defined the side-scroller genre, this just flat out snowballs into the most infuriating experience imaginable. After the initial spurt of enjoyment you get at the beginning, it slowly decays into a downward spiral of nuisance. Ultimately, it's so annoying that I may look back on this as only an afterthought and not something to be proud of. The main issue is that this game's puzzles have far too many inconsistent variables to make it feel…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →LIMBO is a short but unforgettable experience. The black-and-white art style, eerie atmosphere, and outstanding sound design create a unique world that keeps you engaged from start to finish. The puzzles are clever and satisfying without feeling repetitive, and every new area introduces fresh ideas. You'll probably die a lot, but each death feels like part of the learning process rather than unfair punishment. The story is told without words, leaving room for your own interpretation, which…
