For 5 dollars or even 7 dollars it is well worth the price tag. Having been a fan of vampire survivor, death must die and 20 minutes to dawn this game fits right at home. It's only in beta so there's nowhere to go but up!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bottom line - Has everything you expect from this type of game but the interface needs work and movement have issues. Might try it after EA and some updates, but not for me as is. Good - Really like the jumping dynamic. Enemy waves seem balanced Bad - Character movement feels off, not smooth. Interface makes it a challenge to understand what the upgrades are and the colors don't help. This could be improved with updates.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun, like Vampire Survivors with jetpacks. good art and music
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like top down vampire survivor esque games, this is definitely something to check out. Lots of neat weapons, you can get so powerful you break the game, decent amount of challenge in the difficulties until you figure out builds, and more fun to unlock different survivors by maxing out weapons. Easily worth $7, give it a shot. EDIT: There is no f*cking way someone recommended Swarm Grinder over this. That dude has brain damage.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The movement in this game is absolutely phenomenal. Every game I love to experiment with a different build (despite gambling my hard earned goo away for rerolls LOL). Definitely a very fun game to explore with missions and hives to destroy, there really is no complaints I have. 100% should give it a shot.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hideous visuals and UI, which is also buggy and broken to the point of not allowing upgrade selections at times. Devs also pulled the demo right when the game hit EA and then lie that it will return. Don't waste your time with this mess. Jump mechanic is a decent gimmick, but the core game is about a 1/4 as fun as Swarm Grinder. Play that instead...this isn't worth your time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has a fun core gameplay loop that is ruined by weird game design decisions. You are a hive jumper tasked with surviving multiple waves of alien bugs on a large stage. You get weapon choices at the end of each wave that require a currency you earn from killing bugs. That part is fun. What I don't like: The currency for permanent upgrades is SLOW to gain, and basically requires you to hunt it down on the stage instead of killing bugs. Most upgrades for me right now cost 150-200 but I'm…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Vampire Survivors (VS) clone with aliens as enemies. Pros: - Art is on par with games with other games in the genre. - Developers are responsive to your questions if you ask on their Discord. - Menus are easy to read. - Multiple difficulties to try. 0 is the first one and you unlock more by beating each difficulty. - Achievement menu shows what you unlocked and still need to get. - Has controller support. Neutral/Suggestions: - Only 2 maps right now, but more content is being added…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Me: I already have too many survivor type games. Also me: BUT THIS ONE HAS A JET PACK!!! Legit great take on the genre, my only complaint is that the map is very dark and I find myself getting stuck on edges a lot. Highly recommend!

The game will absolutely kick your teeth in the first handful of runs, so just focus on getting stuff like scattershot and grenades that can hit loads of targets at once, then try and grab amber from eggs around the map so you can start getting some of the meta progression down. After the rough start, this game gets much more interesting. There's hand crafted maps with secrets on the first one, unlocks that require trying different builds, and a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is really good, I really like vampire survivors and this is very similar but with a really fun SCI-FI twist. Makes me think of 2-D Helldivers.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is giving brotato and helldivers. I'm for it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For democracy and karl!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great little Survivor-like with some of the worst end game i have ever seen in a Survivor-like. I enjoy the game, i really do, but when i get one shot, out ran, and telefragged, in 3 separate runs on anything higher than the 4th difficulty, i get more annoyed than anything else. And its not like i don't try to counter the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. The tankiest jumper still gets 2 shot MAX, the fastest jumper STILL gets outran, and the most OP jumper still gets rekt from standing too close to a hive and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Solid core gameplay. Slow start with a grindy (boring) meta game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At first, I wasn’t really feeling it, but after a few rounds, the game really got its claws into me, and now I’m hooked. While I still don’t like the UI, item icons, or upgrade icons, the gameplay loop is fun and addictive enough for me to look past it and enjoy the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are far better survivors games out there, stay away from this one.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The dev team behind this game have done incredible work to this title, the demos were a bit confusing in my opinion, the early access version is so much more polished and easy to understand. In the demo version the game felt very predictable i always knew when i was going to win or lose, in the early access version there have been a few times where i thought i for sure was going to win (i did not) ((Skill issue?)) Watching this game grow into the mini masterpiece its become has been such a fun…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If Vampire Survivors had an modern Metroidish aesthetic, walls, and a jetpack you'd have Hive Jump 2 and I'm really digging it! It feels great to have the hive start to swarm you and then jetpack over a wall to safety. So many good moments. I can't wait to unlock my next upgrade!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are much better survivorlikes out there. The upgrade options during runs are limited and dreadfully boring. Can't speak much for the meta progression. Takes a lot of grinding for minuscule upgrades. Not compelling enough to stick with it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Apparently I was on local TV B-roll at the MDEV conference while playing Hive Jump 2: Survivors! I appear around the 1:00 mark. I was the Prepper Jumper in the late stages, so there were many projectiles. I purchased this game a few months ago, and I do recommend that folks check it out.
unlabelledView post →total fun!. Love the jetpack gimic they added to this genre. only frustration I have its relies to much on luck when trying to reroll weapons. hopefully they fix that in a future patch.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →[url=https://youtu.be/OBPBPWFtCt8?si=Z74wQjfK9jCg33ac] First 20 Minutes Gameplay Here Well, the game offers exciting fast-paced gameplay with varied builds, satisfying progression, and a unique jet-pack mechanic... Which on my side should be at least a must for these kinds of games. As always you start with a full grind until you can build up you character so at least it will get fun in time to play. The graphics are not bad but they kinda bugged me sometimes (pun intended) since there were…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I picked up this game after speaking with the developers at MoGameCon 8 and watching others play the demo. Some of the things I really enjoy about this game are the fast-paced bullet hell feeling that comes from jumping around the map and killing wave after wave. I completed the first level boss and while it took five hours of playing to upgrade my character enough (with some lucky relic choices!), I was able to finally beat the boss. It felt so immensely satisfying. The amount of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A friend suggested I check out the game, and as a fan of the genre, I was very intrigued. I think this game has a lot of potential if some things are streamlined and cleaned up. Overall, I am very excited to see where this goes, especially considering it's still in early access. I would recommend others who are interested in this style of game to give it a try as well as those who have never tried one and can follow as the game develops more. Things I liked: - The variety of different…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Great Game in the Making Loving it! It definitely hits the bullet-hell and roguelike elements well. First few playthroughs are rough, but once you understand the core gameplay loop things get fun fast. The game is hard, but learning to structure your gear and combine weapons makes it just doable enough to be challenging and fun. Took me about 10 playthroughs (each is a few minutes) to get to that point. My first win took me 5 hours. Some Highlights and Feedback Jetpacks are fun and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great adaptation to an established concept! Little bit of a learning curve so read the codex. Would definitely recommend!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another fun survivor like game to burn some time on if you like that type of thing. Was a part of beta testing and the devs are active and responsive to feedback so it should do well in early access. The game is slightly difficult in the beginning with no unlocks but they come quick and you can start experimenting pretty easily to find builds that you enjoy. So far the only problems I feel I've had are some UI issues here and there that I've already reported and ultra-wide support isn't fully…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Having a really good time with this game so far! It's pretty difficult, but I've found myself having a hard time putting it down because of how engaging it is. The progression system is nice, it's really fun to feel yourself getting stronger between runs. For an Early Access game, it's quite polished, and I can't wait to see where it goes from here. Also, it runs really well on the Steam Deck.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hive Jump 2: Survivors Play this game! The addicting simplicity of Vampire Survivor's combined with a bullet hell shooter where you quickly learn that you don't want to stop blowing stuff up! The jetpack mechanic separates Hive Jump 2 from the other games in this genre, allowing you to quickly get out of dangerous moments but also lean into them with your loadout if you like to live on the edge. I'm excited to see how far I can go and what lies ahead, current highest run is level 12 after a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So, this was a bit of a change of pace for me, and it's refreshing to have a game that you download in a couple of minutes and jump right into. Many times I felt pretty indestructible and then managed to die a few seconds later. I liked the weapon systems and ability to upgrade your load-out. It's a game that I can have fun with quickly and hop into whenever the mood strikes. I think there is already a lot in this game and I am looking forward to seeing how it is updated and the additions that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been a QA Tester for the first game and I've been absolutely delighted to be a QA Tester for the sequel. Hive Jump 2: Survivors as the name suggests is a Vampire Survivors-like (apparently called Garlic-like), you fight waves of enemies and collect Goo and Amber, collect enough Goo to level up and select a Relic. When the timer hit 00:00, the wave ends and you spend your earned Goo towards Weapons, Grenades or Utility. Your selected Jumper has a limited amount equipement slots, some have…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is such a fun game! I've never played a game like this, so I didn't know what to expect. I ended up really enjoying it! I think Hive Jump 2: Survivors is a fantastic introduction to survival roguelikes, and I could see myself trying out more games in the genre because of this. Once you start playing you won't want to stop!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game's a lot of fun. I've really been enjoying it so far. I like survivor-type games and it seems like I enjoy ones with guns even more. Progression is satisfying to me and it's really easy for me to jump in for a game every now and then.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So far this game is great! Lots of rougelike style characters upgrades and plenty of variety in character when you play far enough to unlock them! It would be cool to see more weapon choices as there are only a select few which can add more diversity to every run. Another amazing feature would be multiplayer games like there are just what my friends live to play but it closes a lot of doors because it’s single player
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unique take on the genre, tons of meta progression to grind, priced reasonably, and most important of all it's fun. 100% recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can already tell I'm going to dump tons of hours into this thing. It has all the basics down pat so far. Starts pretty simple, then gets insane within just a few levels. Then all hell is breaking loose in all the best ways. Tons of enemies, lots of weapons, upgrades, and missions. Noticed a few issues but its early access and it seems pretty stable from the start.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have to say. The game is very hard at first. And everytime you finish a run, you will be able to turn up the difficulty by a level but the difficulty difference sure is very noticeable (faster enemies, hits harder etc). But as time progress, you will know which survivor you like to grind with the most as each survivor have their own, pros and cons such as, some are great with fire, or have great aoe, or have good attack speed but less in range; those sort of stuff. I would however,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its a pretty fun top down 8 bit shooter, that feels similar to risk of rain. the music is good to, it makes you forget how long you've been playing!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not super experienced in these types of games so it took me a second to figure out priorities with different abilities and everything. I've gotta say though, what an addictive game play loop! The disappointment of dying and losing your build is quickly replaced by the determination to make a better build in the following run. I highly recommend this game if you've been stuck in video game purgatory, not having any games that sound worth playing like I have. If anyone out there has been bored of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I never played the first Hive Jump but I can already tell this game will become a great time sink for me with all the replayability you'd expect from a roguelike. I have yet to have the gameplay or loot become stale as I always seem to get something new before I get bored of my current build. With the hours upon hours of gameplay this game has; it is well worth the early access price!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So much fun! I love constantly discovering new weapon combinations and play styles for fighting the horde. Very addicting!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hive Jump 2 is a breath of fresh air within in the survivors / bullet heaven genre. The player movement feels really tight and responsive. Recent games within the genre often incorporate a dodge roll as a means of giving players agency and a way to dodge enemies when things get hairy, but I've often found it cumbersome and can affect the flow of player movement in a negative way. In completely the opposite way, Hive Jump 2's jetpack mechanic feels really smooth and actually enhances the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has been fun so far! It kinda reminds me of Death Road to Canada and a bit of Splatoon Side Order. :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →NOPE. Getting a refund since it's not even worth the tree-fiddy if I won't ever play it again. I'm generally not a fan of survivor-likes, but e.g. Halls of Torment is fun. This game is not. • Where is the epic Doom music from the trailer?!? The game just has an electronic soundtrack that's baiscally 1 repeating melody which gets annoying after 10 minutes. • slooow movement • slooow meta progression • no really interesting upgrades and pick-ups • Hives and elite enemies are ultra bullet…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i discovered this game on itch io when i was in school and it was the only game i would play on the computers and when i found it on steam i bought it immediately it is just as fun as i remember i would recommend this game 100%
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I hate to give this a negative because it could be much better with some tweaks. These games have to be super tight to compete in this genre. First there are simple bugs: -You can jetpack while moving diagonally up, but not diagonally down. -Some guns float just north of you (not like above you in the Z axis) and therefore cannot fire if you have a wall north of you. Then there are design frustrations: -Bugs can shoot and fly over walls, but I can't even shoot over halfwalls, so if I'm being…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Extremely grindy, yet a great selection of characters, maps (4), passives, and enough weapons perhaps make up for it, ironically. Aye, enough weaps, since the selection of different weaponry is severely limited. Could use more arms, for example, different grenades, lower-tier ammo types. Guns and utility types, there are a few of them; what about grenades, though? And it is a capitalist take on vamp survivors genre = during your runs, main upgrades are not free, you pay for them...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not 100% sure either, just was curious about how a content creator might view it. Thanks for the insight, and thanks for making those videos on Hive Jump 2 awhile back. You really helped us reach more players so they could enjoy our game and I'm grateful for that.
unlabelledView post →Such a good rouge like game with awesome pixel art animation and so many different weapons and tools to help you survive. Highly recommend for anyone who likes games like risk of rain 2 and vampire survivor, with that old school retro pixel art!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →7/10 solid bullet heaven game with cool retro aesthetic but feels a bit lacking in content.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a fun game! The unlocks are cool, the maps are varied, the waves are balanced and challenging. Highly recommend this game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I came to this game without having much (or any) hours into the original Hive Jump, even though I was aware of the game, the game art, and the general concept of "squash the bugs with guns and stuff in crunchy pixels". Most of my experience in the survivor genre of games before playing this title is from Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, where I had a lot of experience in the DRG universe before playing the game. It took me a run or three to familiarize myself with the weapons, enemies, and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Redbeard recommended this game to me and then I recommended the game to my friend. Well, you know the rest of the story. I love this game and I only been playing a few hours. I just wish the shield was more transparent so I an see the arrow and there was more incentive to utilize the jets more. Also in the cave there are some goo glitches. But over all for the price of this game. I would tell my friends to buy this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hive Jump 2 makes a huge leap forward! It's incredibly addicting with frantic action, tons of upgrades, hundreds to thousands of enemies to kill, and so much more. Gameplay mechanics are easy to learn but difficult to master (which is great!) and the music itself plays a major role in the overall presentation. In the first 45 minutes alone I found myself completely engrossed in the action and I'm looking forward to more. Well done and congrats to Graphite Lab and Midwest Games for a…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game. The progression feels good. Each run makes me feel like I’m getting stronger, and also that I’m making progress. Also the music slaps
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →just did a few runs and im already hooked. absolutely addicting once you get a few meta unlocks and some new jumpers. went one run as a grenade spamming demon to my next one as a machine gun jetpack gunner. 10/10 recommend
