This sequel ramps up both the difficulty and the complexity, offering a much meatier experience for puzzle lovers. It took me a bit over 13 hours to finish, so you're definitely getting your money’s worth in terms of content this time. The puzzles are smart, well-structured, and never rely on guessing, which I deeply appreciate. It introduces new mechanics gradually, giving you that sweet sense of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good. Harder than the first one for sure
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the one major issue i have with the entire series is that my brain is unable to sometimes click the correct button i want. i know what i want to do - but my brain just clicks the other mouse button and i get a mistake and have to redo the entire level. or my hand twitches and i click the wrong cell also i think some of the puzzles are too hard. i like applying rules, but this one leans too much into the "what if" aspect of calculating future possiblities. compared to the first one this is more…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game makes many improvements to the first game, Hexcells. Its difficulty is approachable, not too easy like Hexcells but not so hard that it requires extremely long logic chains. This game also incorporates "?" cells, which makes sure every clue is meaningful (you're not restricted to one path though). Knowledge of the prior game is not required, as this game will reintroduce the mechanics. I would highly recommend this game, even more than the first game, for anyone who is looking for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After the tutorial, this becomes a worthy challenge. The new mechanic of using blue tiles for more hints is pretty interesting and expands even more how grids can be solved. If you consider it takes 4x time than the first game, with the same amount of levels, it should be clear the training wheels are off. Expect intricate layouts to unravel in this brain buster.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yeah, more of the same, except this time it's actually a bit challenging. Plus at least one new concept.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simple concept, no need to guess and lot of thinking to solve the puzzles. I love it.

unlabelledView post →All three games in the Hexcells series play very similarly, so my impressions on them are the same. Fundamentally, Hexcells is a fusion of Minesweeper and Picross, both of which are fine concepts individually, but here the total is less than the sum of its parts. After getting through the first few puzzles of each game, I consistently find myself in a situation where I figure out a couple of initial moves and then I’m stumped unless I either spend an inordinate amount of time pondering the next…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The first Hexcells was a fun experience, though very easy. Plus is exactly what I wanted - still not ridiculously hard, but a decent challenge. While simple on the surface the design is excellent, some of the most satisfying solves I've had in a puzzle game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →please ignore the length of time played. I have dexterity issues, only recently got a mouse, and a crippling sense of perfectionism that goaded me into restarting every time my hand spasmed and I misclicked. it's a good game and isn't too hard, scratches a minesweeper itch I enjoy, is a nice color scheme, etc. I personally just suck

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hexcells Plus, developed and published by Matthew Brown, is a logic puzzle game that refines a deceptively simple idea into something remarkably precise and satisfying. It builds on the foundation of the original Hexcells by expanding its puzzle design and introducing more intricate logical relationships, yet it never loses sight of what makes the experience compelling: clarity, fairness, and the quiet pleasure of deduction. It is a game that does not rely on spectacle or variety, but instead…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As the name indicates, Hexcells Plus is more Hexcells. It features all the mechanics from the first game as well as one or two new mechanics. The beginning levels of Hexcells Plus are similar to Hexcells in term of difficulty, but the later levels are noticeably harder.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Basically the first game but with better and more difficult puzzles
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Perfect balance of calm and challenge — Hexcells Plus is logic puzzle heaven.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Immaculate puzzle design. The minimalist aesthetic conceals an intricately handcrafted design that makes each level feel unique and clever.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The new mechanic introduced makes puzzles visually a mess and rather tedious. A shame! The first Hexcells was pretty good.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do you enjoy the predecessor? Do you enjoy Minesweeper? Did you say yes atleast one time? Then get this game. Good boy.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As with Hexcells OG, I wasn't a big fan of the mistake system. It just takes a fair bit of extra time to 100% the game, which was a little annoying and tedious. All the same, it is a clever and fun puzzle game. The 3hrs on review is misleading, by the way, I used a guide because I wanted to just 100% this one and move on. Like I said, the mistake system gets tedious. All the best, Novacus
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm very late to the party but this game was both relaxing and challenging at once, which was exactly what I needed. I can only emphatically recommend this game. The puzzles get increasingly complex and make you work to solve them, especially if you're attempting to solve them without making mistakes, i.e., by properly working through the logical process of elimination, rather than guessing (you can complete each puzzle with mistakes). The solution to each puzzle is very elegant, as you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed it - it was a good puzzle game, and really makes you work for it. Occasionally infuriating. Don't play if you like "cozy" games. Though there's no clock, no action, you *have* to use your brain pretty heavily on a lot of it, so you need to be pretty fully engaged. It's like minesweeper on steroids - with multiple types of mechanics to tell you where full cells might be, and often only the bare minimum of indicators required to find them without guessing. That means sometimes if you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →(No idea how I made it up to 90 hours in this game, I must have left it sitting open... for days...) A solid continuation of Hexcells. The ending few levels are quite brutal.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like Hexcells, but 10 times harde.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I find this game to be a thoroughly enjoyable time sink. Sometimes I will let my wife drive us when we're going somewhere just so I can play this on my steam deck to pass time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good sequel
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Frick my hexcel life
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →stop asking me to review
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →More Hexcells more goodness
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed the original Hexcells, but I think the majority of the puzzles in Plus, especially later levels, lack craftmanship and are just unenjoyable to play. The progression felt like it was just "more ♥♥♥♥ thrown on the screen" to obfuscate straightforward, basic logic, rather than exploring any interesting ways for puzzle layouts and rules to interact with each other.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very humbling experience, compared to the first game, if you are not well versed/don't have a lot of expertise with the puzzle games @_@
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Preserves all the goodness of the first game and kicks difficulty up a notch. No mistakes solve for everything is considerably meatier undertaking.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just feels like DLC for the previous released game. More interesting puzzles. Good for kinda zoning out to.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It has been quite some time, but I remember I really enjoyed Hexcells (original). Unfortunatelly the Hexcells plus+ left me a bit frustrated. There are some levels where you endup needing to flip a coin, and after those, the last level, where they thrown away some of the game basics just to spell out a word did not help.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely peak puzzle game. Peaceful but contemplative, every single puzzle can be solved without any guessing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not sure where I got this or when because it’s not what I usually buy, but it’s pretty decent. There really is some way to do all the puzzles with no mistakes without guessing but in some cases it requires ALL possible information (including the counter for remaining blue hexes left) and typically you need to reveal some hexes before you have the information to nail down whichever one you’ve been staring at too long.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A bit of a difficulty spike from the first one. It really makes me feel the lack of a drawing layer to work everything out, but the logic is still plenty reasonable to get by without it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If ya like minesweeper, you cream.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lovely game to just chill but still use your brain. Great addition to previous installments!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun and complex
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not as good as the original Hexcells. Unlike the first one, there are many occasions where you're forced to guess your next move. In the previous game, there was always a way to deduce the solution, which leads to unnecessary mistakes here. Although it introduces new mechanics, the first one is still better
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love this game, deeply enjoyable !
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i hate question marks edit: was a little peeved sorry, it isn't that bad just a little tedious
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Great extension to the original game with even more challenging levels.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Definitely a step-up in difficulty from the first one!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you liked the first game, you're going to love this game. It bumps up the difficulty by just the correct amount to make it tough but never really that frustrating and as such the perfect balance for a puzzle game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely amazing! If you like games that makes you think deeply, abstractly, this game is 1000% for you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you found Hexcells too easy and you're up for a challenge, then Hexcells Plus is the perfect game for you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very good deal with the Hexcells Complete Pack. The music in my opinion helps the brain to focus on the logic puzzles. The game time is not a whole lot but it does make fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Even better than the first game! It has more rules and it's more challenging. Highly addicting all the way to the last level. Recommend!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good puzzle! Very fun
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I understand bees even more now
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Much better than the first game and stumped me quite a bit in the final levels, huge upgrade. Where the first game I would only recommend if on sale, this one had enough difficulty to it that you'll get some time in for your money.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very chill puzzle game :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting game! I really like it It's more difficult than the first game, but still easy
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like Minesweeper, you'll like this game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My advice not to have a frankly embarrassing playtime on this game: 1. Do not leave it open while you go to work. 2. Do not play it drunk. First one took me 71 minutes, this was several times longer, far more difficult. The last few had me blankly staring for a bit, so be aware! :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a great puzzle game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great little puzzler. Well designed.
