58 of 58 · most liked firstWARNING - READ THIS FIRST Several users have encountered a sound bug with the game. This can be fixed, but it may require several steps involving changing game files and mounting ISO's. If you are not familar with doing this, then do not buy the game. Please refer to the forums or PM me if you would like to know more. Valve - Please don't release broken games or at least provide support as to how to fix them (Vampire: The Masquerade also comes to mind). REVIEW Haegemonia is a space RTS that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Having modded this game extensively, especially during my work on the Vector Prime mod, I know a bit of the ins and outs of the game (not as much as the other members on the Vector Prime team). In short, the game can be considered a realtime lite 4X game. You start off with some ships, some planets or just your homeworld depending on the scenario. Your goal usually is to destroy all enemies (other victory conditions are entirely possible!). Allied victory is allowed on most maps. You…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is honestly the space game i was searching for on steam! it may have been released 2002 but this game plays and feels like a grade A space RTS. I really like how fighters engage other fighters, it looks way better than how Sins and Empire at war would do it, fighters will turn into each other a little less than sweaw but not over shoot like sins which makes dogfights fun to watch. Explosions look extraordinary! Ships will break apart upon destruction and taking down a military space base…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like sins of solar empire and have good friends to play it with its worth the price !
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played Haegemonia the first time several years ago when it first came out. For the time, it had fantastic graphics and the gameplay combined real time strategy and 4X in a way that I haven't seen since, but wish I had. The graphics have pretty much held up- they are comparable to early PS3 or XBOX 360 titles. The problem is that within an hour of launching the game, it crashes. The Windows popup blames the game's sound files. Once it crashes on you, it'll crash within five minutes of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →man im glad they fix alot of the bugs that legions of iron had but im dissapointed that there was no story to it such a pity legions of iron had a great story and i was hopeing for a continuation but im saddend to say there wasnt (cry's) personal rating 3/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a very good game,,,simple interface and can be confusing, intergalactic movement can be difficult though asides from all that 3.99 isnt a wallet ripper for an excellent space based rts, though be aware solon heritage is simply a multiplayer local and net based to legions of iron which is basically only campaigns.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sound error CTDs every second minute sometimes, sometimes not at all. I weep for my favorite childhood game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Does not work on Windows 10. No support for this problem from the game company.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is over a decade old and still looks better than most modern space stratergy games. full 3d. beautiful. Slow burning. Not a game for people after a quick bash, or 1hour long match...even small 1v1 games are a marathon, unlikely you'll ever finish a match in a single sitting. This game is more for sitting down with a good freind or two, barracading the doors, ordering a pizza and bunkering down for a night long sesh. If you like Civ and you like Homeworld, you'll love this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm a bit surprised this game doesn't support widescreen resolutions. If you're going to re-release, that seems like something you'd fix.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't understand why this game flopped, it's a pretty good 4x rts. The graphics are nice. The game is complex. The sound is good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quite irritating sound-related crashes.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good strategy game with great graphics!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Seems like a good game but it just keeps crashing on my PC.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its a good game it just crashes because of Sound Error bug, otherwise i love the space combat
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome game, planetary management, empire building, battles ....just awesome. I wish the was more lore and developed gameplay involved....
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game is sh1t. no tutorial, no 1920x1080p resolution, does not run at 60 fps, ui is crappy, graphic is crappy, NOT a 4x scale war. The only good thing for it now is it's on discount at 1.24
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the sequel to Haegemonia: Legions of Iron, an old 3D RTS space strategy game/ripoff of Homeworld where you control fleets of ships and kill other fleets of ships. While the release date is marked as 2014, the game is much older. While it's a great theme and concept for a game, this one is too old. There's no widescreen support and the game is buggy and has not been maintained. The bugs are severe enough to make the game unplayable. This hasn't stopped Microids from holding their…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Note: There is a sound bug glitch and it can be patched, when the glitch kicks in lower the volume and DO NOT click ok on the pop up, just click off it and continue playing. It can be fixed if you look on the forums or Google. This game is gorgous, absolutly stunning despite how old it is (older than 2014, I had this in 2007 and it had been out for a number of years by then). This is one of those RTS space games that would be in a similar category as Home World but without feeling like it in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Haegemonia The Solon Heritage is a stand alone expansion to Haegemonia Legions of Iron that adds new gamemodes, race specific units, new ships, improved AI, spying missions, and other features. The issues with the first game are still going to be found here, the UI isn't the best, limited music, the multiplayer modes aren't likely to get any use, some of the features are going to be more basic than other games of this type, and the graphics are going to be dated. The new spying mechanic can be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Haegemonia: The Solon Heritage, developed by Digital Reality and published by Microids, is a standalone expansion to the acclaimed space strategy game Haegemonia: Legions of Iron. It builds upon the foundation of its predecessor with an array of new features, technologies, and ship types while maintaining the same grand vision of interstellar empire building and real-time tactical combat. This expansion is aimed squarely at fans of the original who wanted more content, deeper mechanics, and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The best Slow paced RTS game out there with the best explosions i have ever seen in a spacegame. This game needs a sequel or atleast a remake/remastered version. I've spent hundreds of hours in this game before i activated it on steam and i still own the original discs of both Legions of Iron & The Solon Heritage. Just out of nostalgia. For the True space RTS lover, this is a must buy game. Go get it and decide for yourself. It's worth the money.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →no idea what these "too buggy" folks are talking about, works great, no bugs at all... come on, its fun, costs basically nothing, has a big bucket of ships, techologies... you can mine, you can build stuff on planets... get it if you like space rts like homeworld. the only disadvantage is graphics. you cant get decent resolution, its 4:3 and no built in window mode, maybe there is a config trick i didnt saw yet, but its not so much on graphic at all, most times you see black background with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →....I just like the explosions =D
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game crashes all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →sound message error cant play the game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its my favorite game tho... i give down thumb coz cant do co-op/MP with my friend... trying many ways even using hamachi, still cant do.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You'd be hard pressed to find negative reviews that don't have to do with Windows 10 or the sound bug. The actual game is phenomenal. Always my favorite Space RTS back when Space RTS's were a thing. 3 Distinct races, but with the ability to overlap each other's weapons tech, but at a research penalty. LOVE QUANTUM. Quantum and rockets :D It's aged but still grand, and a different approach to RTS Space than the other games of the day. I wish this would get the remaster treatment that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Have to say the most atmospheric space RTS game I have played, plenty of research options, I had this game many years ago and lost it, 99p???? insane for such an epic game, I love exploding ships and the music and the fact you have starbases that move!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is fun has heck but few problems with the game is not enough ships no fast forward 20% of the ships are broke as ♥♥♥♥ like try using the supply ship see how fast your game crashes :P theres alot of problems like some maps will crash if you cap a planet and theres planets thats uncapable which sucks! like huge ones...uncapable and 10%? give or take planets are broke meaning you cap it you crash theres alot of problems but well worth it! i even noticed the fighters are sooooo much better…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like the first game the camera controls are really bad. The angels are the worse and are very annoying. It would be nice also I could at least speed up the boring travel parts more than 4x game speed. The tutorial was not very helpful and I had to restart because I didn't know what I was doing. I went to use a previous save slot (as the game saved it several times while I was playing). Out of the three slots it created only one worked and it sent me back to the game right when I quit..... So I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, but unplayable these days bc of technical compatibility issues
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I never really understoof why this game wasn't more widely known. This was one of my favourite strategy games growing up and no modern space RTS has been able to scratched the same itch. The games can be long and it feels like you're building up an empire rather than a quick skirmish play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best space strategy games I have ever played. It is complex and challenging. Respect towards the Hungarian studio DIgital Reality for making this game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →love this game had it alongtime ago, still think this needs to be updated remastered HD or Remake but needs more than two aliens raceies to fight.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good expansion to a pretty decent game back when expansions actually included an assload of content. This game borrowed a lot of ideas from Homeworld and threw in some of it's own. I've always felt that Sins of A Solar Empire devs took some inspiration from this game. NOTE: Google and download Haegemonia sound fix FIRST . Doubtful this bug will ever be fixed as I don't even think Digital Reality even exists as a company anymore (their website seems ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and they haven't developed a full…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Randomly bombs on sound error.... Save your $$$$
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too bugy, couldn't get it work for very long finally removed it from my active list
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Does this game allow you to save while in multiplayer....awesome game but cant save in multiplayer..trying to find out if thats the way the game is designed or if thier is a problem on my end.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game does not work
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun multiplayer and skirmisher game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The best game ever!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the main gimmick of a space 4x game I loved growing up, "Haegemonia: Legions of Iron", where to justify humans going from Mars colony to interstellar wars in a year or so, they simply said that there are a lot of naturally occuring fixed wormholes between star systems.
unlabelledView post →I have always like this game but we need a restoration or a remake Digital Reality and Microids these a lot of good in this game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Encountered the infamous sound bug but fixing it requires external modification from your end. Also, no option to run in on windowed mode to offset the limited resolution options.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My personal favorite, one of the first game I had in the 2000. Old but good and classic
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think Haegemonia Legions of Iron was a game made by some minor Hungarian studio, which did Homeworld better than Homeworld, while also doing the classic Earth vs Mars sci-fi civil war. It really did look good for its time and represented space well.
unlabelledView post →Terrible Title says it all, terrible even for an old game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love it! Wish there were more similar games like this :( ships, colonizing, terraforming, battles :) have not found a satisfactory space one other than this one and the original Haegemonia, that has campaigns :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Old school RTS for lan parties.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Old school space game with the most beautiful and satisfying explosions.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can't remember what this was about. 1/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Classic Games are just better..........Its one of the 5 laws of gaming.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The earth is 4.6 billion years old and we managed to exist at the same time as this masterpiece.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good game but short campaign and very few skirmish maps
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really nice addition to the original Haegemonia. To bad it didn't make to become a full-scale expansion as it was planned.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tags: 4X - Empire Management Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Dated 3D RTS in the same vein as Homeworld. Suffers from crashes and the resolution is fuzzy. Progression is sometimes unclear. 3D ships on top of 2D backgrounds.
