53 of 53 · most liked firstThis is definitely a good looking, enjoyable TD game which I hope will improve. However, it does have some flaws that cannot be overlooked and will most probably stall gameplay at some point. It consists of 3 runs and the first run is indeed quite easy and 2 x bonus electives can be safely taken for extra loot / meta progression points. I imagine this first run is deliberately created as an easy run to enable the metaprogression required. Difficulty increases substantially in the 2nd and 3rd…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After you get a win. Game decides to throw a simple you aren't getting past the first area anymore. It throws random healing super armor boosting minions that spawn each wave. And what were not a challenge becomes a simple "You Lose". There is no counterplay, Slows, burns, silences, do NOTHING. Don't get this game. Play a better Tower Defense.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Seems like it could be fun, nice artstyle, fun mechanics. Game is currently balanced far too easy (at least on the first two floors), game is also very unstable and constantly crashes / freezes.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An interesting game. Though it needs some balance changes. most of the game is very easy until the game occasionally throws a curve ball and sends out VASTLY over-stated monsters that have insanely high defense and are immune to all status effects. another thing of note is the proximity bomb ability. Instead of having its trigger and explosion radius the same, make the trigger range smaller so the bomb would actually hit more then one approaching monster. Key-binds for abilities would be nice.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sorry I can't recommend this. If it was $5 maybe. The content is offers is very repetitive and the price is extremely expenses for very little content.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Extremely addicting and polished. You will fail a lot, you won't be able to stop trying. Watch me go indepth here, so you can see the curve: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNpGaWft5HI Your character will be able to enhance skills further as they level, which will make your next run have slightly better odds, but still hopelessly hopeless. Everytime you think you have the golden tactic: displacement, map damage, fire and acid... there will be bosses smiling down upon you with immunity for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Looked pretty cool, actually boring and limited.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not as polished as Dungeon Warfare (from which it is clearly inspired), but addictive and scratches my TD itch! Works well on my Gentoo Linux box but I have to use "apulse %command%" in the launch options; looks like recent Unity versions are broken on pulseaudio-free systems again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is fixed and workin properly now so im happy to leave a positive vote cause its a really fun roguelike TD. Actually it is something like an "orcs must die" top down with roguelike elements. Some of the traps might need a bit rework but overall even in early access it leaves you with a good vibe!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bugged Achievements and some other game-related bugs, like invisible mobs that go under the map, making them very hard to kill. Otherwise, quite a good game with some fun cards (aka towers), relics, maps, events, and spells. Totally worth the 12 quid. But as an achievement hunter, I cannot in good faith give this game a thumbs up if it has bugged achievements. My heart will not allow that. I will change my review once it's fixed, if that ever is the case. Buyers beware.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'd describe this game more as "habit forming" than "fun". A lot of the mechanics could be fun but the units, traps, and skills are pretty imbalanced. So the levels waver between super easy once you get the OP traps on one extreme and essentially impossible if you run into a few particular levels prior to getting a chance to obtain certain trap types. e.g. You can run into a level where the boss randomly launches surprise aerial attacks before you can get enough traps that attack aerial units.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Low quality Dungeon Warfare ripoff. No reason for this to exist. Annoying, badly designed, derivative trash. 10 minutes and refund.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a shameless clone of Dungeon Warfare, with almost the exact same enemies and towers, but as a roguelike deckbuilder. It's much rougher around the edges (bugs, missing translations, art style looks like a generic mobile game), but if you can look past that it's actually a ton of fun. All of the changes they made to Dungeon Warfare are for the better. For example: in Dungeon Warfare, pretty much every map can be beaten by the strategy "push everything down a hole". In this game, there…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At first I felt this game is a poor attempt to clone [url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/355980/Dungeon_Warfare/]Dungeon Warfare. It BEGS to be compared to that game. At first, pretty much every single mechanic you see exists in that game - but in Guardians of Holme the implementation is inferior. Later when you have seen more of the rogue elements, and the slay-the-spire-like level selection and relics, I still feel Dungeon Warfare is a much better game, but at least now I don't think…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Guardians of Holme is a fantastic tower defense with never ending upgrades on everything. VERY addictive, Worth the purchase and its only £10 at the moment
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Copy-cat of Dungeon Warfare with roguelike elements added in... which actually improves the game quite nicely. It's still got lots of issues: bugs that'll never be fixed, difficulty that isn't quite tuned right, and even on the fastest speed it's still far too slow. But if you're a fan of tower defense roguelikes, it's worth picking up on sale. 7/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →With how many bugs there are, this should be an early access game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty fun game on the surface with some nice options, but I ultimately fell into a rut of relying on a few obvious choices long term, since it starts costing so much to deploy everything, every big win I got relied on the "all units attack faster as long as you have below xx units on the field." I also broke several bosses, one in a way I had to sell units to re-position something that could manage to attack him as he was way out in the middle of an empty area on a run I had no ground-traps.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I hate this game but I can't stop playing so it's gotta be doing something right. It's an extremely straight-forward tower defense roguelite but the progression is drip-fed through slowly unlocking the ABILITY TO UNLOCK upgrades for future runs and then having to gain currency from runs to actually unlock the upgrades which then obviously have to be obtained individually in every run. I think at the end of the day it works because I'm only ever half-paying attention to it. Good game for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I play in my theater. Only games with full controller support. This game isn't even close. Full controller support is a lie.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The level of jank in this full release game is incredible!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →super fun rogue lite tower defence
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played tons of tower defence games so i know what i'm talking about, guardians of holme is absolutely spectacular!! Even though its early access its mechanics are solid! It resembles dungeon warfare in a lot of ways which i loved and has a lot of additional features ive never seen before. Very addictive and the progression rewards are fun, the grinding doesnt really feel like grinding at all. AND the story is trippy, with some D&D/choose your own adventure like elements! I'm really…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good tower defense game, lots of traps to lv up. Cant wait to play as the third character is unlocked to see what kind of traps he has.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For the price and the amount of content already available in Early Access, I am enjoying this addictive Tower Defence game. Yes, there are elements that need work, but overall I'm happy with this purchase. I look forward to more updates and continued polish.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very good game!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm a bit of a TD fanatic, and I have to say, I think this game deserves a little more love than its gotten - its not an innovator by any means (actually kind of a knock-off), but I couldn't possibly give it a thumbs down because I got 20+ plus of enjoyment out of it, and there just aren't enough solid TD games out there to knock it. Its not a classic, but it scratched the itch for sure. Solid meta progression, more on the problem-solving end of the TD spectrum, but solid. If you can get it on…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Balancing is off. Decent game at $5, though.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ended up putting over 30 hours into this one. Overall a solid tower defence game with good progression and unlocks. The best? Nope? Copy cat? Maybe...but it just works. Recommend
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a really good tower defense game. If you happen to like tower defense games and why would you be reading this if you didn't, this is a solid recommendation. You will definitely be getting your money's worth.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A number of bugs, lots of grinding. Some achievements don't work. Needs balancing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Playable, but the game suffers from one major flaw: You are required to grind for stats. Several key stats are gated behind levels and currency gained AFTER losing a playthrough. At least 60% of your damage output is locked behind their grinding system. Took me 17 hours to beat the 'Normal' difficulty solely due to having the towers gimped at the start of the game. Actual gameplay is fun, being a tower defense. I haven't tried the other characters, but I'm too disgusted by the system to want…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So, sometimes I read reviews complaining about bugs. This game actually does have some small-ish, obvious bugs, as well as some weak (and sometimes nonexistent) translations. That being said, it's 'fun enough' for at least a couple of bucks. It's not deep or engaging, but you can probably find somewhere between two and ten hours of amusement here.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great Tower defense and rogue-lite game, I ever played. recommend this game for early TD players!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game feels like a new take on the classic tower defence category, with different characters who each has their own play style. But even among the 3 different characters, there are wildly different builds. Can only recommend this little gem
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Had UI issues when playing this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Over all its actually a really addictive game. like TD meets rouge like. Downside is that it does have some bugs. the more predominant one that i run into and that ruins runs is the speed glitch where enemies move so fast you just see a blur. As a heads up, if u have this issue u can fix it by restarting your game everytime you beat a final boss of a stage.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is such a fun tower defense game it has become my go to game for relaxing!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love tower defence games. You have to reload the game after each boss fight...other than that great game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Enjoyable little game, good value.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simply a fun TD game worth the price of admission.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting TD game

You can try out different strategies with every style, although there are one or two cards that make life much easier than others on higher difficulties. The only drawback I see is that a game takes a very long time. It's not possible to do a quick daily challenge every now and then, you have to plan around two hours for that. Endless mode…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun game. Has some bugs here and there. Could use better combat card notes one they have now are bad. Over all 7/10 but looking froward to update to 9/10 for hope it gets better.

unlabelledView post →This is easily one of the better tower defense games I've seen. Other reviews mention a lack of difficulty... And that's probably fair. Things do ramp up eventually.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tl;dr - This game looks promising, but at this version, not recommended. Wait for updates. The core tower defense gameplay is very reminiscent of Dungeon Warfare; with pits on the map and towers that's capable to push or pull enemy swarm to fall into. It tries to have this environment that player can interact with and incorporate into their defense strategy, but so far all the map designs are too shallow. There's simply not much variety between the maps, all of them looked like generic map.…
