Is this game a masterpiece? No, certainly not yet. You play a giant, enslaved by tiny humans and forced to fight other giants as a gladiator. With the help of an (also imprisoned) human, you manage to escape from the arena, trampling humans and smashing doors on the way. Outside, you destroy houses and take their parts to throw at those…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Update: This has been updated a lot on December 20th, it's now patch 1.1.0. I haven't checked the update, so take some technical issues from this EA review with a grain of salt. Early Access preview, patch 1.0.2 Here we go with another Early Access technical woes intro, which compared to the game’s sweet, snarky, theatrical one, won’t be full of laughter. It might be a trend, or I might just be picking them out of the bunch, but as with…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had some problems to start the game at first, but the team quickly helped me with solving my problem via discord. Thanks for that. So, I think: - Game graphics are fantastic, but they need some optimisation for older computers like mine. - I really like to walk and explore a bit so some climbing mechanics would be nice - The plot and sounds are so nice. I like Kielbasa, but I miss him on the giant's back. I hope we will see that :) - I would like to see some crafting in this game, and to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The premise is the game is great but honestly there should be a warning for forced Motion Blur, there is a spot in the campaign where you get a poison mask put on you and it instantly made me sick. (Even turned down motion blur to 0) It feels pretty clunky, Just needs to be smoothed down a bit more. Also the lack of changing keybindings is an oversight. I don't recommend this game at this current state, It has a good base game though.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have been following this game since it has been announced. I can say I am fairly impressed. The game mechanics are pretty straight forward. Kill the bad guys and destroy stuff. Graphics are fairly decent compared to other games I have seen. The story is so far pretty good, haven't played that much but will definitely continue. The game play itself can actually be challenging. You need to make sure you are keeping up with your health otherwise youll just be killed and have to load the recent…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's tagged as open world but its not at all, it's entirely linear mission based and the main story is only a few missions long. Hate being misled by tags but that's not the worst thing. The loading and victory screens take a very long time to transition and load, it's got terrible optimization and you feel that especially in the combat. The "Main Story" wasn't even fun enough to keep me interested in doing the rest of them.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was clearly not tested before release. The demo was fun and enjoyable but the random damage spikes from single units, bland giant combat which is block, hit, block, hit or you die very quickly and the fact that after the first boss fight the screen blacks out while still in control is rough even for an Early Access game. It does not transition or move on, you just die eventually and have to restart the poor excuse of a boss fight over and over. The controls can not be changed and make…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great Game, I suggest a free roam mode, where you can attack villages, gain a bounty on yourself or help other kindoms, seige castles, build a home, grow larger, etc.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sometimes the game is a bit laggy. But it is Early Access I only hope it will get better. So that was the only negative point I can tell about the game. Because the game itself is fun. You play as a giant (duh) with some human on his shoulder. Try to escape from big armies. You can walk over them, smash them, throw stuff on them. Maybe it seems easy, but it isn't. Canons are shooting at you, humans try to catch you with ropes. Watch out for big bear traps.... I told there is some lag. But for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →bought the game because i thought it looked good played 70 minutes and saw how unfinished it is. checked discord to see what path its on and it has been abandoned. a lot of potential there will rebuy if its ever picked up again
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cool concept and fun game, shame it was abandoned.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The lag makes it unplayable for me. Can't block a punch at 2FPS. It resets ALL settings every time the game is started. Did I miss key remapping? I understand it's early access, but wow. This is rough.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Incomplete and abandoned over 2 years ago. Great concept and there is fun to be had here but it runs poorly. Only positive is you can beat the story in 70 mins and still be in the refund window. It is a shame, this could have been a good little gem.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its pretty fun, but unfinished. It looks like this may never be finished at this point. A few hours of chaotic gameplay. I'll look at it again if they ever do get to 1.0 but until then I think its not worth it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game, but cannot recommend with no updates coming out for the game anymore. The game on Steam and the discord community is DEAD, and the game still maintains buggy and broken, optimization is still poor even on very high end pc's. Still get high temp numbers after the improvements. Like I said, it's a fun game and a very innovative idea, but the game is dead and broken. I can't support abandoned titles no more.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →probably a matter of taste, but i found the gameplay not really satisfying. mostly, it was shortish bursts of frantic battle against cannon fodder with a few boss fights. almost no puzzles, exploration or story play. neither was there any rpg-style character advancement or loot system. felt more like a skeleton game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Man, I actually won this game from a give away they did....Looked really good....But it is clearly just dead trash now....What a shame. More abandonware.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another abandoned Early Access game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →so this game is about 45-60 minute to finish. it's fun, but nothing out of this world. After youre done with the ''main story'' they tell you you can redo mission, but don't be fool. It doesnt work. You have ''perk tree'' that also doesnt work. That game havent been update since 2022. please don't spend your money. I was full of hope for this game to be honest. Really hope the dev would have work a bit more on it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great idea, terrible execution
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simulator of a giant from Skyrim)))) The game is not perfect, but it's fun to play, the physics is great, the music is lame, but not bad for an indie developer, as well as for an unusual setting.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game seems unfinished and unpolished. there are alot of spots i get stuck in and game crashes and seems to be poor quality but the story line is good from what im able to play of it. and i do love the Concept of the game. getting to run around and smash village people is great!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun? Yes. But no updates in ages. It's vaporware. Don't even buy it on discount until you start seeing updates again. 1.5 hours was all I needed to get through everything they had.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just awful. It's been on my wishlist for a while. Decent reviews. But it's so rough around the edges that even the middle is falling through. Half the time the keys you hit don't work. Even if you pick up food, if you die and respawn at the last check point they take all your food away (think health potions). I didn't even finish the tutorial, which is terribly unclear on what they expect you to do (the bridge ropes are a key example, it wants you to destroy supports. Which you can, by hand or…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is dead, the last update was made over 2 years ago and I can see why. I bought it for $4 on sale, and beat the story in under 2 hours. I was also under the impression that the skill tree was something I'd be able to use throughout the game, but it only opens up for use after the campaign is over, which makes zero sense. The skill tree lets you use 5 points right away, and you can replay all of the missions with additional side objectives to complete that weren't there in the first run.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →[url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/6142328/]Like this Review? Follow The Cpt Froggy Club Curator Page for plenty more! Giants Uprising ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ How about we reverse the roles and let the Giant take the first swing? Giant UpRising is all about that! There are a lot of games depicting Giants of many shapes and sizes, but none lets you take control of a monster in a meaningful way and take the fight to the humans. Now, this is a concept that I couldn’t overlook. You basically play…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Giants Uprising is an early access game with okayish graphics (a bit muddy at times), clunky controls and is very linear. I really don't see how it has an RPG tag, there are not any RPG elements unless they are planned for later. It's an action game that you as the giant escape enslavement, go from place to wreck havoc, get attacked, kill the humans and rinse and repeat. It's not horrible, it's repetitious and it's not much fun either. Not recommended
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Here is my Full Gameplay Walkthrough - https://youtu.be/6HtxtJMEULw 6/10 I have finished the game but its not actually complete as there is not anymore missions left to play + The skill tree is missing & the game is laggy at times . Overall its a decent game besides what can you expect in early access . Fun - 10/10 Story - 9/10 UI - 6/10 ( Super Laggy & Glitchy ) UX - 6/10 ( After winning each level the game lags out & goes into not responding then it crashes so be ready for it ) Game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →+ Funny The plot is normal - A lot The short one is in 1 hour. There are additional missions. Battles with giants are boring Why can't I scatter armies with a tree? The trolley mission - my gate won't open 5/10 Unfortunately, I do not recommend it yet If the game is made for at least 5 hours and the glitches are fixed. That I will recommend this game and give it a well-deserved 6/10 )
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good for the alpha version! The gameplay of the game is a kind of slasher and allows you to play for a giant, with all that it implies - little people whom we trample in packs, like giants, the battles with which are a kind of boss fights, villages that we crush and huge towers and ballistas shooting huge shells and trying to stop us. There is a system of perks that enhance certain aspects, for example, health or stamina with damage and a number of challenges for already passed cards…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the concept but the user interface is seriously lacking polish. Changing options while using a controller is ... problematic. Movement feels wrong within the game. The controls are not souls-like standard or even old beat-em-ups, and customizing the controls... just doesn't. Anyway, game has humor, and is a great concept, but it needs work.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not bad. Yes, the game could use a couple of patches and QOL updates. But Its playable and sometimes even very enjoyable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A borderline recommendation... Pros: #1. There's very, very few games in this genre. If you're hankering for a 'smash everything as a giant/monster' game, then you really don't have a lot of choices.... in fact, you probably have less than 5 choices.... so the fact that 'Giants Uprising' is one of those 5 games, should be taken into consideration. #2. The game's physics are impressive and the fact that you can smash basically all buildings/trees adds to that. Cons: #1. Sometimes, the controls…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'd love to recommend this game, but in it's current state, no. I barely made it through the first level due to how poorly the game ran. Put all settings on lowest setting and game still ran terribly. Definitely needs a lot more work before I can recommend it to anyone
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly, I really enjoyed this game and had a fun time with it. Being a giant and squishing people beneath your feet is arguably an enjoyable experience. The game does have multiple issues and is far from perfect, but I still think that it's worth a buy if you're interested.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Graphic is okay, got a nice story and twist but the gameplay is not so good and to much limited attack and skill and the giant is too weak XD We want more crushing and destruction. The sound is mehh... overall not so good and not too bad but the fps is bad too.. hopefully their official release will improve more on this racks
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Repetitive, unresponsive mess. Also, the game's over-endeavoured attempts to seem funny don't do it any good. It's not completely terrible, just terribly mediocre.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has a TON of potential. Yes it needs some optimization and polish, but its in EA for a reason and the dev's have acknowledged these things. There are some rather odd design choices, like instead of being able to hover over a mission during mission select with the mouse, you need to use wasd to "pan" the map around and center your selection into the cross hairs - same deal in the skill tree. Different but could easily be changed before release. Honestly though, the story is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →GIANTS UPRISING... A very interesting game to play the graphics look ok but plenty of room for improvement's game play is mainly smooth going but controls can be a bit sticky at times .The game is mainly about going around squashing the enemies with a big slam of your feet or hands hearing the squashing sound is really good fun and seeing bodies flying around as you walk also slamming the buildings to pieces there is a bit of a story in between next missions i'm really pleased i brought the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A few harsh critics on day one of early access, aren’t there? I'm also about 90 minutes into the game, steam, thank you very much. I went back and checked… it took me 40 min to escape the tutorial. FORTY MINUTES! But it was FUN! I was probably all flushed and starting to sweat! I tend to give up easily on games, but I was having a ton of fun. I couldn’t find the doors (kind of dark), the audio was out of place, I got caught on the giants, who killed me rather easily because I had a pixel of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Couldn't get past the tutorial, this game is painfully unoptimized. Constant stuttering and lag really hitches gameplay to an unbearable point. Also no keymapping? Why is Alt the key chosen by default to block. I'll happily return to this game once it's in a playable state, but for now I wouldn't recommend it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Poor optimisation even for an Early Access title... low CPU usage but spikes when area effects/particle systems activate which most likely indicates that there's way too many particles being activated at once or something. GPU usage is pinned to 100% yet will spike to about 20-40% usage when moving around which indicates horrible use of LOD's and view distance rendered by the game. Might also mean there's zero Occlusion Culling... or whatever they've implemented just seems broken... all…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has very interesting premises, but it's so poorly executed. The idea is nice, the dialogues can be funny and the voice acting generally good, but the gameplay is overly simplistic (go from A to B) and the difficult spikes gets soon ridiculous. In fact, you end up dying an indefinite number of times because each fight turns into a race against time: either you do what required or you will be killed by countless arrows coming from nowhere. I read the game has been abandoned, but I hope…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really unique and fun premise, gameplay is fun overall. However some of the graphics are pretty dated for being a 2021 release game. The background assets look like something out of an early 2000's RTS game at times. The game is also pretty short, full completion of story mode, the bonus levels, and getting 100% achievements only took 3 hours of gameplay. Overall I enjoyed the game, but would only recommend on a deep discount, 70% or more.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Painfully Linear and boring. Abandoned shortly after release. can't recommend.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The concept isn't bad, but it needs SO MUCH work in order to be fun. Right now it is repetitive, controls are very clunky and navigating menus with a controller doesn't work at all. And no updates for ages.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Play this with Attack on Titan OST in the background (¬‿¬) On a more serious note, I loved the "Ha! Gotcha!" the narrator pulled in the beginning and sure, the gameplay might not feel the best atm (with sometimes confusing cutscenes), but I have high expectations when this game leaves the EA area.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly, i was very surprised how fun and impressive this game is. It makes me feel like a kid again and reminds me what gaming is about. And that is just pure unadulterated over the top humorous fun, with banging music and satisfying destruction. the devs are still very active and listen to the feedback well.GREAT JOB DEVS ON EVERYTHING and keep it up. i cant wait for future updates and that epic VR mode! This game is worth every penny, highly recommend!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Giants and man lived in relative peace in the past…not any longer. Enslaved against your will and forced to fight in the gladiatorial games; you will fight for your freedom by wreaking havoc upon the kingdom, making the puny humans pay, and battling your way to safety. Smashing your way from castle to small village you embark on a journey along with a witty human convict that helped you escape to find freedom and, perhaps, start an uprising. Please note that this is an Early Access review…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game with a little bit of strategy and a pinch of dexterity gameplay. Very relaxing, allowing you childlish destruction while still punishing for full ignorance. Giant smash!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had a lot of fun with this one! Rushing armies and buildings is just incredibly satisfying and the story is really interesting on top of that. My only major problems so far are the frame rate issues especially when there is increased destruction and the fact that it is $30 AUD for 2 hours of gameplay so far. I feel like this would be one of those early access game where the devs increase the cost as they add more levels but the is my opinion. Pros: + Great graphics, even if turned down +…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed the short play-through the game has to currently offer, and it is a lot fun once you get past some glaring issues. Though I will give it a thumbs up, just be aware of the issues in the current state. Needs Optimization badly Remove Film Grain effect, it makes the game look ugly Controls are a bit clunky and no remapping of keys/buttons Motion Blur turns back on when you turn it off and click Apply or restart the game, it's a terrible effect anyways and always gets turned off by me…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A little background of myself, I've never seen this game before, and upon looking at new releases, I came across this game minutes after it released. Mind you, since I haven't been watching the development of this game, I have no prior "hype" of looking forward to this release. So my review is clearly new and unbiased. It is also worth noting, I play on keyboard and mouse for all my games. My review, This game is pretty unique. Not completely unique as its gameplay and environment remind me…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still quite a long way to go. No skill tree yet and lots of polish needed yet. However, the gameplay is fun and the smashing is quite satisfying.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Abandonedware! Big Talk, Big Promises from the Dev´s but havent done anything in Years. Really sad, but not Unexpected.. Was one if not m first EA Title, honestly dissapointed. This could have been Great, but they wasted it Dont recommend!!!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its unpolished, clunky and not rlly fun. You can finish whole game almost in minutes.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →(Early Access) Right now its fun but needs a lot of work like load time, game-pad controls are delayed, and menu controls. One thing is I cant even charge most of the time kinda sad. Only 1 hour on record but I may go back to it would like to see some more frequent updates and patches in future but its good so far.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm entirely behind the idea of this, the intro story got me good. Wasn't expecting it to play out the way it did and the visuals for it was neat. The actual game itself is very clunky, unfinished (duh) and sluggish feeling. I get that we're a giant but it feels like the animations are played at like 0.5 speed and are all half baked. The AI for the humans is weird and pretty much either Rush at you or Flee away. Early on they charge at you in full armor instead of moving in formations or…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is fun and relaxing. The tutorial is flexible enough to allow a little bit of jump forward action without punishing the player. Some elements could be slightly improved on visibility, but overally smashing and crashing stuff KABOOM :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is an EA so, (and a recently released one). At this time, sounds are a bit weak. Music... could be something else more exciting, epic. VSync requires to be implemented. Controller is to be improved in menu and intro (to skip it). Controller in game it is quite ok. Game concept itself is amusing. A medieval Rampage type of game. It lacks of details, life. 30mn in and it presents how repetitive it can be. Which is sad since the video of the store page shows more than that. A problem reside…
