Wait for fixes & optimization Also also PSA: Epic are giving away Battle For Polytopia, Monument Valley 2 and Ghostrunner 2 this week, free. All cool games
unlabelledView post →Ghostrunner 2 is an exemplary sequel, improving upon the original in every way. With better Energy systems, delightful and responsive bike levels, fantastic bosses, and the same quick-paced gameplay from the original, it's a no-brainer for anyone who remotely enjoyed the first.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game just feels like a huge downgrade compared to the first Ghostrunner. The original was an incredible game because it focused on making you learn and master the gameplay in a Doom Eternal-like fashion, and that was supported by an incredible art style and a pretty good soundtrack. There was a story there, along with some progression elements, but it all took a backseat to the core gameplay. This game, on top of being a laggy and buggy mess, completely shifts that focus away from…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The first game was a gem. Fast-paced non-stop action with great soundtrack. The sequel somehow got rid of all that and bloated the game with things that nobody asked for. Also, it's still unoptimized even after all these years. Looks bad and runs bad.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty bad compared to the first one. Feels okay most of the time. After a certain section, you go to a dull wasteland and the pacing takes a nosedive. It also feels kinda jank and cheaply made at times. I would just recommend to play the first Ghostrunner. Much more focused and enjoyable experience. Get this one on a deep sale if you really want to. I had to stop at the dreaded "Pillars of Creation" level because I was just not having a good time. Dull semi-open world without a good…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just meh. Didn’t hit like the first game. Way too many “doing nothing” moments, empty areas, and pointless Bethesda-style dialogue that just kill the pace. Some cool ideas here and there, but overall it was kinda boring.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ghost runner 2 A pale imitation of the first game. The writing is terrible, the epitome of 'modern writing', people just don't stop talking to you throughout the entire game, a solid 8 hours of yapping. The story is confused and convoluted. The characters are poorly written. The platforming is way more janky than the first game. The level design is bad and a lot of the levels are far too big. The game engine is bad, I had many hard crashes, FPS drops, shader issues, control issues & getting…

unlabelledView post →Just was a letdown for me compared to the first game. What made Ghostrunner special was the tight level design, fast paced action, banger OST, enemy arena puzzles, light puzzles, and fun platforming. Why slow the pace and action down with a hub, dialogue, open area levels and arenas, and excruciatingly long and frustrating platforming sections. The attempts to vary up the gameplay with the bike, extra level challenges, and more open areas is cool at first but just poorly executed. I can't…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →long story short this game sucks just play the first one gr1 is still one of my favorite videogames oat so seing gr2 being handled so poorly really makes me wonder what happened to the dev team cuz the state of the game makes me want to cry
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →We're now halfway through Epic's holiday giveaways. Today's 24-hour freebie is Ghostrunner 2. A good pick as they've given the first game away several times. Basically, it's a first-person Katana Zero. Instant-restart precision platforming and stabbing. The sequel is more open and has motorbikes.
unlabelledView post →While the gameplay is serviceable, the other reviews were accurate in saying the game kinda got lost in the sauce. The open world missions and motorcycle are jarringly out of place, and the story seems to favor hype and aura even more than the previous game over actual substance. Game was pretty short considering the price tag, yet also felt like the missions dragged on. Discovered some minor glitches with skipping dialogue not skipping the voicelines, only the subtitle timing, and there's…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A game about speedrunning that doesn't understand how to make responsive controlls and good speedrunning game feel. The first game was so good! What happened?!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wish Steam had a 'mid' review. Game is okay, but isn't as great as the first. They've slowed down the game with parries and a few abilities. The ultimate abilities are lame and out of place. The bike sections are not that great and just slow down the flow of the game. They've added puzzles that just require you to look around a space and not actually solve something, which is boring. Lastly, interesting combat arenas are far more rare. The GR had such great combat arenas that were varries and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I’m playing through Ghostrunner 2 right now and it’s a lesser sequel because it’s worried about “characters” and “having a hub” world instead of jumping and slashing. Just give me what I want, a video game made for teenage boys, not adults.
unlabelledView post →Wasteland is ass Bike is ass First game was 3 times better, this whole sequel could have been a 20€ dlc for the first game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Phenomenal game - cyberpunk aesthetic, awesome music and interesting story. If you loved the first one, you'll love this. The addition of the bike and outside roaming was better than i thought.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dont fix whats not broken. This game does not innovate, it regresses. The platforming sections are more annoying than fun and the open areas feel very redundant. The first game was cooler and gave semi open areas but this is all a bit much. The hub also sucks and slows down all the momentum the game builds up. Just play Ghost Runner 1.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You'd think after all this time they would have been able to make this game not be such a stuttering, unoptimized, mess. Wish i could recommend it because of how much I love the first one, but I simply can't. What's here is good, but with how poorly optimized it is, you will inevitably die many times due to stuttering, which is more frustrating than it is fun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Is this game difficult? Yes. Have I raged in this game? Yes. Did I enjoy playing through this game? Absolutely. I've recently got all trophies for this game here on Steam after doing it on Epic. The way I see it, Ghostrunner 2 has to have some of the best gameplay (movement and combat wise) that I've ever played with. It takes what made the prequel, Ghostrunner, special and improves upon it tenfold. Once you get the hang of the flow, the game will come much more easily. Not just that, but One…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ghost Runner 2 is a major upgrade and overhaul from the first game in many ways. Ghost Runner already had a solid foundation with its many mechanics and the skill tree that helped progress the character's abilities; the second game builds upon this foundation by adding many more abilities that can be used in battle such as a bike with guns, parry’s, and many different ultimates. Gameplay is absolutely fantastic and has me coming back for more. I really enjoy the gameplay, it has the same…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →8.5/10 Doesn't measure up to the first game, Ending is lackluster. The first game truly set the bar too high. Game features riding a bike and gliding which I didn't particularly like. Both felt a bit janky sometimes and I prefer the parkour overall. Lot of missions with open areas, Closed maps aren't as linear as the first game which breaks the flow while you stand still to look around and figure out where to go. Further, it seems they've messed up the map design in a way that movement…

I still prefer the first tho. Game has nothingtoo complicated, Roguerunner was fun but done in 3 tries. #PS5 #Ghostrunner2 #Trophyhunter

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved the ♥♥♥♥ out of Ghostrunner, there are only 5 games if I had the ability to play a game for the first time and Ghostrunner is one of them. I was really hesitant to get GR2, and was I correct. This game is not bad by any stretch of the definition. But GR2 feels like the discarded husk of GR. The movement feels clunkier, and when I block an attack from an enemy I dont feel like I am blocking the attack. And ditto for the attacks. My biggest beef with this game is the inital boss…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I thought this game would be much faster, but it’s actually very slow, painfully slow at times. The combat areas are way too big, and enemies are scattered all over the place. Even if you manage to chain kills by jumping off walls or using hooks, it still takes forever to get from one enemy to another. The platforming sections are slow too. Honestly, the best thing this game did for me was make me want to play Neon White again.

unlabelledView post →I really wanted to like the game but unfortunately its ♥♥♥♥. This was rather disappointing given that I really like the first game enough to get all achievements in its but here at some points I said bollocks to it I am not having fun. And there is more than just one issue. First of all, the first game lived on movement, which at least works, and level design. the first game was tightly designed and there always was at least one a rather clear path through the enemies and there always was a…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Verdict 👍 Recommended (for the right audience) I played Ghostrunner 2 for about 2 hours and I’m not finishing it right now. This sequel adds even more gameplay mechanics, and that makes the whole experience harder and more demanding. If you struggled with Ghostrunner because of the difficulty, Ghostrunner 2 can feel even more punishing. That said, the game itself is clearly high quality: the story feels meaningful (similar vibe to the first one), and visually it’s a really strong-looking…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ghostrunner 1 was better - sure, but this one isn't too bad either not as ear-gasming soundtrack ok continuation of story for me it is a must buy when it goes on sale 7.5/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its a fun game, not a fun ghostrunner game it feels clunky and fries all the muscle memory I have from playing GR1
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Review After being overly surprised with ghostrunner 1, finishing it multiple times I didn’t expect a sequel to come considering the ending. The original was great due to its excellent bosses, leveldesign, soundtrack and gameplay. Which was already simple but hard. This game? Makes almost everything worse. Gameplay In contrast to the first game, the action focus is quite apparent. You not only can throw shurikens, which instant kill weak enemies, you also have bigger encounters and much…

unlabelledView post →I wish I could give this a mixed review. I wouldn't recommend this at $40, but it's still decent and not as good as the first game. I still have ~2 levels to finish, so I'll update this if anything changes. GR2 does some things better than GR1. The graphics are improved, new mechanics are added, and puzzles are a little more varied. I really enjoyed the first half of the game, but it started to become less enjoyable as soon as you got the bike. What I didn't like: - The movement just isn't…

Played 17 minutes, died about 30 times and requested a refund. I don't necessarily mind a challenge, but the platforming trial and error stuff just isn't fun to me. There are too many other games in my library that I need to play instead of spending hours trying to get good at this one.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A massive improvement over the first game in most respects, Ghostrunner 2 accepts that it just doesn't have the chops to live and die on its platforming and level design so it instead embraces spectacle above everything else-- and it works! Easing up on many of the first game's pain points, GR2 is much more enjoyable overall to play and while it won't challenge anyone capable of beating the first game it does toy with the concepts the first game sets up with non-linear parkour-park levels…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For the motorcycle sections, it should get a negative. There's lots of jankines that's annoying. But all in all I had fun and a challenge.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ghostrunner 2 builds on everything that made the first game so exciting and refines it into a smoother, faster, and more thrilling experience. The improved energy system, exhilarating bike sequences, and intense boss encounters make for an action-packed sequel that feels both familiar and fresh. Right from the start, you have access to key abilities, allowing you to dive straight into the chaos as a lightning-fast, lethal force. Set against the backdrop of a dazzling neon city and backed by an…

Ghostrunner 2, I like how they amped up the production values with a more elaborated story, some introduction cutscenes and cool music with cool boss fights with an attractive aesthetic But yeah they doubled the BS on the story climax and the finale was a headache🤬🤬

The Ghostrunner games are the only ones I felt like I had to buy again because of how awesome they are. While the first game is more focused on the combat, Ghostrunner 2 has a stronger story. I like the new mechanics, the only thing I disliked was the fixed camera on the motorcycle. Visually it is way more entertaining than the first game, the new locations were awesome. The…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sadly doesn't live up to the expectation of Ghostrunner 1 Game is ruined by open-world and RPG elements. Excessive NPC dialogues and "exploration" breaks too much of GR1's puzzle-solving fights & traversal loop.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played through this game twice and I have to say, I have enjoyed myself, but this definetly could have been better. Yes it's Ghostrunner. Yes I like the gameplay loop a lot. But while there is much more variety in this game, I still feel a bit empty in parts of this game and I think I've figured out why... - This game is far more forgiving than GR1, which might seem like a good thing. It isn't in this case. The kick I really got out of GR1 was entering into an arena having absoloutely no idea…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This sequel to the first Ghostrunner 2 went in a very different direction than I expected tbh, and I was very conflicted about giving it a positive review. The devs had some good ideas, but imo they missed the landing. Pros: -A very strong first act that really gets you hyped and feels true to the first game (if you ignore the desert section they tried to introduce mid-game). -Amazing soundtrack by Daniel Deluxe & We Are Magonia. -The game expanded more on the horror elements, which the first…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly just play the first ghostrunner and only play this if you really care about the lackluster story, this one has some cool bosses at the beginning but the last boss of the game is legit just platforming and not the cool parry style bosses that I really enjoyed. Also the last 2-4 chapters performance dropped significantly, some fights I was down to 30 fps. This game just isn't as satisfying as the first ghost runner, due to the open map design the game just doesn't feel as tight and you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a complete cash grab. They took all the features from the first game and instead of fixing the very obvious issues with the too slow and clunky movement they just doubled down and made it so much slower and un-fun. 505 games hit with terraria and that's it. If everything else anybody in that ♥♥♥♥ company had a hand in was deleted from the internet permanently no one is shedding even a spec of a tear. Also runs like 2X the dookie performance from the first game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really enjoyed the first game and expected the same experience with this one. The story was alright but the movement felt much worse.
