Since we only got Gestalt, it was just called "NIER." Same game, different protag age & relationships! #nier #ニーア #nierreplicant

unlabelledView post →Playtested my Signalis RPG with 2 players, 1 who knew nothing about the game and one who had finished it. I made them play both the Gestalt playbook (which helped the unfamiliar player). And it went pretty well overall, would have been even better if I had slowed down a bit more the pacing.
unlabelledView post →Don't have very many, but I love them all to bits... There's LSTR-315, just as stuck in the cycles of guilt as the game Elster, except far older and more jaded about things... she also is fighting her eldritch-horror turned Gestalt who wishes to be whole with her again.
unlabelledView post →I tried. A little. Definitely could push it more. Probably will, later. This is Gestalt ( 28, Irish wolfhound ) my Dungeon Game character. A scholar who was expelled from his last university due to picking a fight with his professor. Also possession of illegal firearm. ( just one )
unlabelledView post →I think it’ll fall into the Silent Hill 4 category for me. A game I end up ruminating over and ultimately really liking ( loving even! Ilu henry so much), but not a game I enjoy playing Considering tho Siren and Nier - Gestalt are also in that family, good company!
unlabelledView post →Adler is actually the character who got me into Signalis. I read the Sun = Adler's Gestalt theory and found it so angsty I ended up actually getting into the game. Plus, Adler's a little cutie. And a failmale. And a pen fanatic. He's right up my alley.
unlabelledView post →I was a huge fan of Nier: Replicant/Gestalt back when it first came out and folks always told me it was a bad game whenever I yapped about it And then it got the remake and suddenly it's good and cool I clench my fist like Arthur
unlabelledView post →I am fucking destroyed. No game had me crying like this since both NieR Automata and Gestalt, I am a changed person. Generational game, once in a lifetime experience, calling it a 10/10 would be offending it. Art cannot be graded by numbers. This was pure unadulterated art. Simple as that.

unlabelledView post →A game everyone should play at least once in their lifetime, I have to say Nier Replicant/Gestalt. This game was what opened my eyes to different methods of storytelling and introduced me to the absolute badass that is Kainé.

unlabelledView post →15 years of amazing games, music and stories. Wonderful artwork. Wonder if that's A2 or someone else. I love the #NieR & #Drakengard series. Proud of my game collection and NieR Gestalt/Replicant still has one of the best intros for a game imo. Really set's the tone. 🤣
unlabelledView post →Gestalt: Steam & Cinder is a metroidvania I wish I liked more. It gets a lot of things right, but I have some issues with the story. That aside, it’s an entertaining game with gorgeous art and a great soundtrack #indiegame #indiedev

unlabelledView post →NieR Gestalt/Replicant my favorite game of all time bar none. few works of art have moved me as much as this game. Kainé in particular was kinda pivotal in me coming out as trans.

unlabelledView post →LRP - Nier Gestalt/Replicant is the worst any game has made me feel and that's why it's my favorite video game and why I'll never be Normal about killing mob enemies ever again _(:ι」∠)_
unlabelledView post →I think it’s just now hitting me that Nier Gestalt may have been the original single dad action game.
unlabelledView post →idk what it is about the OST for Metaphor but it just hits my brain so good a video game album hasn't gotten this many full playthroughs from me since like Nier Gestalt
unlabelledView post →Thousand Arms. Beautiful quirky game back when fanservice was cool. Nier Gestalt. I loved the battles because I could actually play them. Then the series became AAA combo dodge shit. Only bad part of Gestalt was Kainè getting mildly censored in the west.
unlabelledView post →For me Nier Replicant is a good illustration of my feelings around remakes. On the one hand it's performance is better than the original and it's less clunky but also the clunk was always meaningful in that game and frankly they chose the worse version of the story to remake by not remaking Gestalt
unlabelledView post →Nier Gestalt (2010, Cavia) This game is still so fucking good it’s unreal this and Automata are two of the best examples of weaving together gameplay and narrative in really interesting ways played this to get a good point of comparison for the Replicant remaster, which I’ll start soon 10/10

unlabelledView post →25. Favourite game: FFXIV for a game I have played. Or Nier Gestalt for lore & story
unlabelledView post →Player agency is a core aspect of the game's design and narrative, it makes sense why the killer robots are amazing at killing things effortlessly and this idea is woven into the themes of the game. Nier Gestalt is not this type of game though. Nier doesn't have formal training or experience

unlabelledView post →Once I finish FFX I’m probably not gonna go into X-2 right away, because I think it’s finally time for me to get around to playing through Nier Automata. I’ve been a Gestalt hipster for long enough, I should actually play through the more popular sequel game.
unlabelledView post →The Gestalt is such a cool concept for a potential future enemy type that I would love to see it in the next game. Hunters are already feared for their strength, so a smaller Hunter in the shape of a Spartan could make for interesting Mirror Boss encounters.
unlabelledView post →do a NieR Replicant/Gestalt thing and have both Ryus, only now it's in the same game
unlabelledView post →The game I am in currently is using Gestalt, and I'm a dex Samurai wielding a +3 naginata with an agile enchantment, and my second class is Eldritch Scion magus, with retrained feats to get me to be able to wield the naginata one handed for spell combat. Haste+bladed dash+full round attack is nasty.
unlabelledView post →I like Nier Gestalt, it's ultimately still basically the same game and the performances were great, but it's so funny to see someone be hardline about preserving pure artistic intent or w/e then go "but also marketability-minded meddling was good that one time"
unlabelledView post →+1 to Nier Gestalt! IMO the game simply does not hit the same when the protagonist is an older brother. Honorable mention to the Dishonored series for pretty quickly getting over the paternalistic misogyny in D1 and telling better stories from the DLCs onward.
unlabelledView post →Explain your @ I like the Shades from the game NieR Gestalt/Replicant
unlabelledView post →Gestalt: Steam & Cinder finished! Quick and enjoyable metroidvania. Really good for a studio's first game. Only took about 7-ish hours to beat, although I didn't 100% it. Solid game, but ends on a needless cliffhanger.

unlabelledView post →The original game had a DLC that had you play as the protagonist from the other version ("NieR Gestalt", released as "NieR" in the west, was a father/daughter story instead of a sibling story... because Squeenix thought the prettyboy brother wouldn't sell).
unlabelledView post →I've been thinking a lot about Route C of Nier Gestalt lately. When I finally finished the game, it was the one that left the biggest impact, even though strictly speaking very little changes from Route B. I liked that, because, to me, it felt like it was about inevitability.
unlabelledView post →Game Pile: Gestalt: Steam and Cinder I am delighted when I come across a game that is both engaging to play and interesting to talk about. I routinely experience games where finishing them is a slog but I need to, I feel, in order to comment on the end or the conclusion of the experience, to make sure that my assumptions about the experience are true. Thing is, I like playing videogames, and I’d really rather it if the game has an enjoyable play experience, doesn’t last too long, ideally has a…
