positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Review by [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/34633003-Gaming-Masterpieces/] Gaming Masterpieces - The greatest games of all time on Steam. Is this game a masterpiece? Hehe, no, but it is a crazy, politically incorrect shmups with a fantastic soundtrack. Shooting Chinese terrorists you also destroy an unarmed Russian science vessel (that throws trash and cosmonauts at you in its defense) because of your completely incompetent superior, which leads to a lot more mayhem and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ridiculously over the top story, amazing art style, incredible soundtrack, and it's full voice acted. The gameplay is highly polished and it's just a fun, ridiculous shmup with an insane amount of levels. This will definitely keep me occupied for a while. A must have for any shmup fan
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Aesop Rock put me onto this game and I can say that it is one of the best purchases I have made in recent memory. You can tell a lot of love went into the design, artwork, and script. Everything just flows so well. I knew I was in for a good time when the first of many bops came on. Got me in that mood where you're bobbing your head and feeling like a badass ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ middle finger shooting lasers. I also love the stealth mechanic. Adds more stakes then just health because you can't just avoid…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cuphead meets Super R-Type, voiced by Nolan freaking North (?!), John DiMaggio & co., scored by Aesop Rock, Com Truise, et al., utterly dripping with sarcasm, satire & sardonic post-American vibes. It's offensive like South Park, and the "melee" portion of the combat doesn't really do anything for me (on controller, at least), but it's otherwise a classic sidescroller shmup heaven with an outrageous personality, perfect for 2020.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Summary of my day today: Open Spotify, browse New Releases, notice new Aesop Rock record. "Oh, cool" I think. Click on it, read title. Freedom Finger...(Music from the Game). Mind ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ blown, pants shat, Spotify closed (as to not spoil the game), instant buy soundtrack bundle, pray for stimulus check. I would normally be the type to wait for a sale or possibly a Humble Bundle on a game like this, but seeing a legend like Aesop, easily one of my top 20 rappers, possibly top 10, hop on some…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I, like many others I presume initially bought this game because I'm gay for Aesop Rock and TOBACCO, but I'm happy to report that the game actually turned out to be really fun and a good purchase even independent of the "I know what that is!" factor. I'm really not very good at space shooters, I almost never play them, and this game can be really brutal. A lot of reviews mention an absurd difficulty lurch in the second half of the campaign, and in my experience that's right on the money. This…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is genuinely one of the greatest bullet hell / 2D shooters I've ever played in my entire life. The soundtrack absolutely rips, the gameplay itself takes the general 2D space shooter and flips it on its head and the entire feel of the game is absolutely bonkers. This game reminds me if The Behemoth smoked a ton of green and listened to amazing stoner metal and made a game. I will be buying copies of this for all my friends next Steam sale because this game is the closest thing to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The developer of this game banned me for saying that his game isn't fun for the reason "being a cry baby twerp." If this person is actually friends with Aesop Rock that makes me lose respect for Aesop, and that saddens me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game has it all, aes brought me to this game. -music is amazing and perfectly synced to the levels -top tier voice actors -unique art style -cool mechanics , grabbing enemies to use as weapons and a melee -blistering satire (if you take your self to seriously you may not enjoy it) -classic WTF shump gameplay -controls are pretty good, could be tighter tho -choices to make which effect other levels
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game with an amazing soundtrack. I would highly recommend this game, even if it can be a bit difficult (but that's part of what makes it amazing, beyond the graphics and soundtrack and humor) 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun: 9.1 Design: 8.9 Scope: 8.2 Sounds: 9.0 Gameplay: 8,9 Price: 9,2 Score: 53.3 / 60
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've bought this game twice, once on ps4, and once on steam. I've seen it getting a phsyical release on limited run games, and if it comes back in stock, guess I'm buying it a third time. This game is a labor of love, with amazing music, voice acting, and a wonderful gameplay loop. Also Aesop Rock. 10/10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After putting in a decent amount of time and nearly beating the entire game, cannot recommend. I bought because of the challenge and soundtrack. The soundtrack sucks after about half way through the game where it switches off from high octane rock with insane speed, and nice electric music from Com Truise, to whiny obscure psych-rock with way too much stuff happening on the screen to suit whats going on. The rythm based visuals seems to dwindle away about half way through the game as well. The…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Alright, this is my first game review. I came across the game on accident and haven't put much time into it yet. This game had me from the start with music from Aesop Rock & a future Rhymesayers free update (tomorrow as I write this), additionally there is an all star cast of voice actors featuring Nolan North (Nathan Drake of Uncharted) & John DiMaggio (Bender of Futurama). The soundtrack is friggin' amazing and each level is a full length song. The humorous lines are mostly spot on and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Give everyone that doesn't agree with you the finger in this satirical horizontal space shooter, tons of real bands and established voice actors too, it's like this is a real game because it is https://youtu.be/8BpCB8l9g7M

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →buy it, support the people who made this game. The artists who did the music not least of which is Aesop and Tobacco. These people deserve your petty dollars more than the AAA games. For those who say its to much, BAH this is what you throw money at. These people are normal schmucks like yourself trying to make a blue collar dollar. Good game dirty and fun and great music.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →2/6/25 - 8/10 - 10 hrs to complete - This is a side scrolling shoot'em up game (Shmup) and it’s the best game of this style that I have played since Cup Head - The game goes all in with its style and theme and this is where it's both well done, yet also relies on the crude and rude style that reminds me of South Park (not my favorite) - Whereas Cup Head delivers a smooth well-made game with a trippy theme, this game is trippy, well made, yet has racist stereotyping that South Park fans…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →lovely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crazy space shooter. the name says it ;) full controller support and a nice soundtrack. ladies and gents give it up for Aesop Rock!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In this psychedelic send-up of American foreign policy, you pilot the "Eagle Claw" on a mission to rescue hostages from a Chinese moon base. This is not just for laughs, but a great twist on SHMUP gameplay -- besides blasting energy balls from the tip of your bird, you can lay down punch combos, throw ships and space junk, and even use grabbed enemies like handguns. Watch out, though! The Eagle Claw's hitbox is very long (and hard, heh heh heh). Fun, variety, and challenge are strong with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →:-: This game is actually Amazing.. I honestly brought this game mainly cause Aesop Rock however I have actually come to Love the Story Mode. VERY VERY Hilarious, The art design is amazing with some looking like a bad trip or something lol. Still Love the Art Style, this was all before knowing the whole game was hand drawn by one person who has been working on this game for years... I would Gladly recommend this game for a pretty wild story mode and visuals in the art style.. OOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A super unique shoot-em-up with the ability to actually grab enemies and turn them into weapons. Every enemy is a weapon! Its ridiculous and amazing at the same time. Just try to grab the cannons off the big bicep guy, I dare you! Great replayability, star-studded cast, and amazing soundtrack, of course.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like good hip hop and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up peyote trip games, this is a must buy. Aesop Rock, act like you know.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing game with an amazing soundtrack, Aesop is my favorite rapper and the rest of the soundtrack is pretty damn amazing. Anyways game is EXTREMELY difficult because I suck at it lol
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I found this game from the Aesop Rock music video game, so I came in on a positive note. At first the game was really hard and I disliked it, but I gave it another shot and ended up on the leader board for the 1st boss fight. So that's a big win in my life.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought this game as a reintroduction to gaming and it's beyond RAD! I recommend the bundle version with the soundtrack!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely a blast to play and the soundtrack is amazing too. There is lots of replay to be had with varying difficulties and online leaderboards for competition. If you are a fan of Gradius or other style shooters you will love this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am royally terrible at this game but I'm still having a ton of fun to playing it; the concept is super cool and the soundtrack is awesome!! Definitely worth checking out if you like sidescrollers and laughing out loud.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The music is addicting and the mechanics are fun and the voice acting is stellar! This game is more enjoyable and varied than I had imagined. It is especially fun as the level lines up the music and is one of the best examples I've seen.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Freedom Finger is a series of gimmicks one on top of the other: it's a horizontal shmup where the ship is hand-shaped and can turn into a punch to smash stuff or grab enemies to use them as alternate weapons and/or shields. It's also completely hand-drawn and the enemies move to the beat of the soundtrack: pretty much every stage is synced to the song associated to it. But it is any good? Well, yes, but with a few issues. Let's see: Pros: + Eclectic collection of songs in the soundtrack:…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ive been listening and supporting Aesop Rock for years, il admit i totally suck at SCHMUPS but this game and its artstyle and music is amazing bar to none. please pick up this game and support an amazing indie artist!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a silly side scrolling shooter and it's just a joy to play
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I appreciate the effort made to try and polish the game but the gameplay borred me extra quicly (stopped at level 3) probably because the gamefeel doesn't work for me at all and the level design feels dull and repetitive already. Driving a middle finger turns out to be disapointing and I don't engage with the grab/throw system. Nice effort on the voice over and the character animations during the intro cutscene, the ears and eyes thing was kinda cute.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Disclaimer: My scores/reviews are almost always based on having bought the game at close to the "lowest historical price" on steam at time of purchase. Quick score: 4/5 Visual style is great Soundtrack is amazing, every single song is great. I was expecting to not like a least one song but it was pretty much all amazing. This is definitely a personal taste thing, but whoever did the soundtrack for this game, I want his spotify. There are 3 or 4 levels that gameplay wise are a bit too slow…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can't believe I didn't know about this game sooner. This game is art; honestly, a whole different experience than I was expecting. Screenshots don't do the art justice, the music is amazing, and the gameplay is fair, difficult, and fun. When I was introduced I was wondering how the developers got this level of talent to contribute to the game. Once you play it, you'll understand. Great game - buy it and play it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →for anyone buying the game becuase aesop rock is in it. note: The soundtrack dosen't feature any other rappers. It's mostly upbeat, chaotic metal or slow melodical songs. If you're not into metal then stay away because you will absoloutly hate the soundtrack.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Freedom Finger, at a glance, looks like a grungy shmup tailor-made for a quick affair. The hand-drawn art style catches the eye, welcoming you into a tale of Chinese space terrorists receiving the finger from America’s finest. But beyond that hides an element that allows it to transcend from simple pew pew pews to something worth your time. Developed by Wide Right Interactive, Freedom Finger carries itself with an underground no ♥♥♥♥♥ given style that works in its favour throughout. Players…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, great music, great story/voice acting.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oh so dope SHMUP with insane art, tons of levels, and great voice-acting and story, but the real highlight is the outstanding and diverse soundtrack with Aesop Rock, Com Truise, and The Radio Dept. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ah Freedom Finger, well what can I say when most people have said it already from the 100% positive review response. Basically if you love arcade side scrolling shooters this is a must buy, and even though the game is crazy to say the least it is at the same time so funny to. With crazy humour and adult content you can switch on and off, but on is better unless you have children who like these games to. But as you can see I did not go into the games mechanics as most people already have, but…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty nice indie shmup for the price! Great music, lots of levels and some neat enemy designs! You can tell a lot of love went into this game from the devs. Voice acting cutscenes in a shmup was both welcome and unexpected from an indie title! I definitely feel like this was a sound addition to the ol' game library, and worth a look!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love punk-style games that just go totally overboard with zany character designs, fun music, and it all just feels so silly that it's stupid fun. There are so many indie games that do this, and it doesn't really come together as a fun game. This one gets it all right, and it's a seriously good shooter. I'm a big shmup game fan, I collect all the good ones on Steam, and this is one of the greats!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best shmups I've played in recent years! Also, an outstanding soundtrack.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →THIS GAME IS AWESOME! From the music to the challenging gameplay! my stream loved it! really funny jokes and a great twist at the end! Def worth the buy!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dope ass soundtrack, awesome art style, and challenging but fun game play. 9/10 There are rare bugs, but I haven't experienced anything game breaking.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you ever felt like just saying ♥♥♥♥ IT Freedom Finger is for you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best games I played in a long time! Highly recommend for all skill levels!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great soundtrack, classic gameplay, and an art-style reminiscent of an indie or alternative comic book
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Perfect blend of old school blaster games with modern elements. If you like any of the artists listed you will enjoy this game. You can change the difficulty from enjoying the music and comedy to sweaty try-hard. Really really impressed and fun game. If you are an Aesop Rock fan a lone is reason enough to give it a shot. 10/10. Get it with the DLC! Well worth.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Massively enjoyable!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not bad, short game, awesome music
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Get this game if any of the following applies to you: - you love shmup or bullet-hell type games. - you love music (particularly stoner rock, electronic stuff, psychedelic rock, and hip hop). - you like the idea of a hand-drawn shmup with elements of a rhythm game that all comes together to form a cohesive, crunchy whole. - you enjoy sophomoric humor (weed, beer, some poop and ♥♥♥♥ jokes, subversive humor, etc). Pass on this game if: - you absolutely cannot stand any of the above. - you…
