58 of 58 · most liked firstTarget Audience: Top Down Shooter Players of All Types. Summary: I may not agree with every decision that I See Red made in terms of gameplay and presentation, but I appreciate that the developer had a vision and made the decisions to help support his overall vision, making a game that I had fun with throughout my first play session and is definitely worth your time regardless of your experience in the genre. The grappling hook adds to the chaos of combat, focusing on quickly using…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR: Game is an absolute gem, I really enjoyed playing it. Gameplay: The core loop of the game is fantastic. Arrive on ship, kill, grab weapon/box/barrel, kill, throw empty weapon, grab another one, dodge, kill, repeat. Enemies: I really like the diversity in the enemies as you progress through the different levels, the different types (humans, aliens and robots) feel great to go against, and each of them have a different arsenal of weapons, which we also have to use to kill them! UI: The…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR: Maybe if it was a early alpha early access game. I liked the general vibe of the game, the looks of superhot vr on a twin sticker shooter yeah could work. But it hard doesn't. Positive: Only major positive I can note is the music, it has this starcraft 1 terran vibes I found really cool. Kudos to the musicians. Negative: Gameplay: Got two crashes on 30 minutes of play, one crash was when launching the game. No errors, cannot give more info than it just froze. The long distance…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So far, I See Red has been a fun, polished roguelike experience, and I'd definitely recommend it for the price. Visuals - This is certainly going to be one of the most divisive points. While I'm personally not a huge fan of the black/red style, it's executed well and I can definitely see why it was used. It lends much needed clarity to rooms, especially as the floors get much longer and more alien, and helps to distinguish what's going on in particularly hectic fights. Sound - The sound…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is definitely not a full release game, I have played more polished games on ea. It took 3 takes, 3, to start the game, black screen of death each time. How did this went over QA? Thought hey maybe its me? but nope, rest of the games work fantastic. What do we find when we start the game? Character flies around, tried two controllers, again, maybe its just this case. In this kind of games precision is key, if you cant move around where you wish while shooting means that the core…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Is this the greatest roguelike of all time? probably not. Is it still fun as hell and a good game to play? hell yes. If you've played roguelikes before then I don't need to tell you whats in store here. For those who don't this is a game where the objective is to survive and get as far as you can before getting killed and resetting from the start all while acquiring random upgrades as you go to create a combination that will break the game and destroy enemies. During the game you will also be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great Game with original visual design and neat gameplay ideas. The game uses a progressive roguelike format with good difficulty to push you through building your character to overcome increasing levels ( You can select the incursions based on difficulty and rewards) The gameplay has frenetic twin-stick action moments, and the game rewards you for quick reactions like good weapon switchs, timely dodging, special kills, etc. Above all this the character uses a very useful grappling hook that…

Even still, i thought "Eh, why not take a look at the game i bought? No reason not to..." Best Decision I've Made In a While...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wish I could give this game a good review because the core gameplay is great, but everything else around it is pretty flawed. Unlike most roguelikes the level design isn't random each time, meaning you'll inevitably start going through the exact same layouts over and over again, which is really noticeable in the early parts. Later levels also feel like they go on forever, with rooms having 7-10 enemy waves that just won't end. The random passive upgrades are alright, but until you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am so confused by the highly positive reviews! Here is an example where style is used to cover up a shallow, mundane, and broken half-game. The main "hook" of the game (heh) is supposed to be your grappling hook used to grab boxes, loot, weapons, enemies, etc. But it ALWAYS does the wrong thing. Loot and weapons are always flying everywhere so the "BRUTAL" melee hook kill really can't be executed most of the time. The graphics are lame, the guns are boring, the enemies feel completely…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game because the point shop items looked cool and I wanted to buy them Oh man was it worth it...one of my favourite games rn
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Feels really nice once you get into the flow of the game. The music and effects helps with the overall feeling and when it starts getting repetitive the alien & robot biome kicks in. It may become kind of easy with certain passives combos & low difficulty setting, but this helps with getting the story uncovered as it´s revealed as you progress.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →highly underrated game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun and enjoyable roguelite twin stick shooter and something of a hidden gem. The gameplay loop consists of going through different ships (areas) and collecting different buffs/modifiers. After every three or four ships there's boss fight. The shooting aspect works quite well and there's a solid assortment of different weapons. The game encourages changing the weapons and they generally have a rather limited ammo supply and after emptying the weapon you can toss it at the enemy and a grab a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is fun. I don't think you'll ever get bored of it, even after dying a couple of times. I love how you can be in a room full of blood, and dashing and grappling for your life, and still identify upcoming enemies. They made a great job with the color contrast. Then, both the detail on each mission's background and the variety of weapons and consumables are amazing. This was my experience with the game (might have spoilers): I spent most of the first hour destroying anything I could and…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun top-down, shooty-explody, stress-relieving experience. If you're the kind of person who needs to get into a game and blow sh*t up for give or take an hour (depending on how far you can get, and how quick you can shoot and dodge) this is definitely for you. There are story elements, partly in environmental storytelling, partly in log entries, so you can delve as deep as you feel like, or just jump in and shoot things dead to your hearts content. There are some minor issues here and…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lo probé por primera vez en la EVA 2023 y quede fascinado. Siento como si volviera a jugar DOOM 2016, el soundtrack es excelente y el combate es muy violento y frenético.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not bad. Bi-chrome aesthetic wears on the eyes quick though. Wish they would take advantage of the minimalist color scheme once in a while with an occasional flash of other colors to refresh the eye... Like when you pick up a passive...that should really pop. Certain hit effects could add a spark of blue. Just on critical hits maybe... Healing could give a green sparkle, etc... Get that dopamine rush maximized. Just do it. Trust me, bro. Why are you so devoted to such an austere color…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has a lot of potential and is a great start for an indie dev team. The weapon swaps, menus and animations need some refinement but the grappling game play is a lot of fun.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game just does not start on my pc. It will say "Made in Unity" and then the game stops responding, no matter how long I leave it for. It's awkward on my steam deck and as much as I want to like it, I can't bring myself to do the. same. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. thing. every. time. I. die.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game, fast paced and simple. The controls and vfx are great. The art feels a bit repetitive at times. It starts slow but gets better after some time. Some bosses are really cool. If you are into action games its worth grabbing it when it's on sale sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing game, with outstanding gameplay, art & music!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Usually, seeing a Gameforge logo attached to a game, especially if it's an MMO, is an immediate death sentence and a sign to steer clear. But, they really can't mess up a single player only roguelike, right? Well, they didn't. I See Red is an amazing game that you should definitely play! It's very fast-paced, violent and exciting with beautiful visuals, banging music and precise controls. You truly feel what it's like to be in the shoes of a merciless silent cyborg bounty hunter journeying…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The only songs that played all the way through without getting gonged were this, Charli’s “Camera,” the new Lizzy McAlpine, and a gangsta rap song called “I See Red People” or something. It’s a fun game.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was provided to me for free by Gameforge as part of their Indieforge partnership. Over the weekend of April 15, 2023, I streamed my first impressions live. I See Red is a pretty enjoyable and stylish twin-stick shooter with rogue-lite elements to it. Overall, I actually enjoyed this game quite a bit, despite some UI jank and really poor sound work. Right off the bat, I really appreciate how quickly this game gets me into just playing the game. It's no-nonsense,…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent game, developers are great people too.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A solid roguelite with a surprisingly effective silent story and a killer soundtrack. There's parts that are a bit rough around the edges, like getting your claw to grab what you want it to in the heat of the moment, but it's a game well worth any roguelite fan's time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Red is the hush before a warning cry, The ember's grin, the bloodshot sky. It’s love scrawled loud across the walls, A heartbeat echo in marble halls. It flares in flags and sirens’ wail, In roses fresh and letters stale. Red is the truth we can’t ignore, The slam of passion, the closing door. It stains the lips of those who dare, To speak in fire, to breathe bold air. Red is the wound, the war, the wine— A pulse that says you’re still alive.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is truly a hidden gem when it comes to isometric shooters, and Rogue-like games. I really appreciate the stylized graphics. Red, white, black, and grey dominate this game and really makes it stand out to me. The cut scenes manage to communicate important messages & story lines without having dialogue or text to read. I also appreciate the inclusion of an easy mode. Most shooter games of this style only have normal and insane mode. The controls seem to work very well, I enjoy…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Positives: Unique-ish visual style Animations/Visuals feel polished Decent feeling movement Chaotic but ultimately satisfying combat overall Negatives: Monochrome and red visuals make it difficult to fully comprehend everything on screen at a glance. Colour scheme gets boring quickly as there is not much visual variation. Player can get stuck on the environment while moving around, this has led to a few annoying deaths Hook mechanic is good when it hits the correct target, however, there is…
