Is 2-3 hours a lot for "exciting" JRPG game? You tell me. 2) I played for 7 hours and got the achievements for defeating first bosses (tutorial bosses don't count) for each main character. The rarity of those achievements is 10-15%. So 85% of players didn't kill even one single boss. Why? The…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros: - Lovecraftian cosmic horror (monsters) - music - visuals - pixel animations - the dark atmosphere - turn-based combat - Alexis Cons: - sound effects are too loud in fights Like the game and ready to play it through.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I absolutely ADORE this game. I had high hopes going into this (I generally tend to enjoy visual novels as it is) but this has to be one of the best I've ever played. The storyline, acting, backgrounds, the pixel art, and character designs are gorgeous and I was entirely immersed very quickly. It wasn't necessarily obscure and dark, but it had an eerie atmosphere that drew you in. I especially liked the storytelling in Alexis's chapter of the game :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love VN's and games with rich and complex stories, like Xenogears, The House of Fata Morgana, Raging Loop , The Nonary Games and 13 Sentinels. That being said, after finishing my plathrough, i absolutelty HATED my experience with Frail Hearts. Let me be clear: I started out really liking this game. Loved the art style and loved the turn based battles. The little scenarios of each character were easy to follow, but fairly uninteresting, with the exception of Cathrine's, which I kinda liked.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Playing Frail Hearts is like reading or watching a very interesting and deep story. The OST is superb, I appreciate instrumental music, I can say the sound effects during the battles are fine too! A really nice classical RPG!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Be a spectator in the opera of the gray city! It was May 13, 1983, in Gris, the City of Emptiness, when monsters appeared and several residents died mysteriously. You witnessed a terrifying and perplexing tragedy. But don't worry; you'll soon discover all the secrets hidden beneath the darkness that has engulfed this city. Just sit back and enjoy the opera in Frail Hearts! The story of Gris's darkness will be divided into four core parts, each focusing on one of the four heroes here. You can…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best Oldschool RPGs I've ever played, mixing pixel art and the photographic genre. I can't compare it to other similar game, so unique an experience it was.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An RPG hybrid visual novel. You have 5 characters (4 with unique endings) and you can control 1 at a time to learn more about their story. Nun, college student, archaeologist, and a gangster. Pros Art is unique Music matches the mystery/horror theme Cons Story makes little sense - fight monsters and supernatural beings, but gives little background on why Too many extra screens- Do you want to save and do you want to enter this location? Its just annoying the player by asking location…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really love all the characters in the game! Can't favour a single one. The idea of particular colors and music for each of them is just awesome. There're enough dialogues, and they show the characters' traits and manners very well. I'd say I fancy Anne most of all, I like the design and the mood. That's my first tactical JRPG, and I've realized I like the genre, especially the battle scenes. It's amuzing to figure out steps in combat, taking into account that characters' abilities differ a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Frail Hearts is a story-driven game, so the gameplay is rather clear and simple. Being a kinda classical JRPG (although the visual style is European), it gives us an opportuny to concentrate on the characters' skills in battles against creatures. The Nun Cathrine is definitely a healer, Arthur is a healthy big guy, Michael is swift and able to shoot, as a gangster, and Anne has a talent in Chemistry and she turnrs out to be a very effective fighter despite her low HP. As far as I've understood,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not a marathon player, but Frail hearts kept me up until 4AM and was finished first thing the next morning. If that's not worthy of a Yes recommendation I don't know what is. I've not played anything quite like it. Frail Hearts is a bit hard to sum up in one line. It walks the line between visual novel and JRPG while structuring itself more like a stage play. The style itself has elements of Lovecrafting horror while feeling straight out of traditional italian horror cinema. Five separate…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dark retro JRPG + great art/music + characters = A unique setting following 4 characters that eventually intertwine. The story setting/tutorial takes about an hour, but you can save in between. [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/35180752-3-point-play/] Follow our curator for similar games
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →incredibly boring. I really tried to tough it out for a little bit, but I just can't seem to see the appeal of this game. You basically just walk to areas, listen to a cutscene you barely have any control of, and you switch character story every like 10 minutes. Immersion is nonexistant, and everything is so vague I can't even find the interest to actually know whats going on.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An intriguing story rich with mystery and layers of hidden meanings, partly up to interpretation. The lore is as detailed as it is foggy (kinda LiKe DaRk SoUlS!1!). So this is the kind of game to endlessly exchange fan theories about. It's told from an amoral perspective, and you may often change your opinions about the characters and their choices, but you'll definitely be feeling things along the way (Mostly PAIN AND SUFFERING). The gameplay loop is pretty fun. It's broken up in chapters…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A nice little game. Dialogue is good, combat is old school enough. Definitely recommend it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm writing my thing on Frail Hearts, tis will be up tomorrow probably. So, I rolled the next game, and well, time to reckon with trans feelings
unlabelledView post →There are advantages I'd like to favor: 1. Laconic but descriptive graphics 2. Great OST, sometimes dramatic and fast, sometimes slow and meditative 3. Kinda variety of playable characters 4. Exciting battles 5. REX! Rex is great :3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game first captured my attention when I saw some streamer playing the demo a year ago or so. When I was the game again, I decided to give that a try right away. And I didn't regret! The art is cool, interesting mini-stories structure, turn based mechanics work well, everything flows nicely and remains quite mysterious! Loved the character of Alexis! He's very charismatic and reminds me of Alucard from Castlevania. The game has great potential, can't wait for more!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the most Anne's storyline, she reminds me a lot of a friend from uni in character and even outfit. And Alexis is ssssooo mysterious and charming, love it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not much of a common horror fan, but a chad Lovecraftian vibes enjoyer. Bought the game for the story stayed for the vibes. Althou sometimes text blocks feels a little textheavy, but i don't think it's a big problem for a narrative game :slightly_smiling_face: Plus it's really good written. And the visuals make a good combo with music, it does helps to do an immersive dive in the game. Basically i bought this game to have some story before i go to sleep, but stayed playing until like 2AM, lol.…

Frail Hearts Versicorae Domlion is a dark JRPG, reminiscent in many ways of Shin Megami Tensei in both combat and tone, and is sure to be an instant classic for fans of less lighthearted stories. I was instantly captivated by how perfectly made this game feels. It has a distinct and beautiful art style with portraits and images that evoke and convey emotion and tone in a way that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wow old school RPG. Was given the opportunity to try and i am happy I did. Old school RPG like Wizardry 5 (PC) or FF1 old school cool. But with Amazing art also more of an adult story line, I also would say they went above and beyond on the tutorial while playing at the start but well done. Thanks for the opportunity to play! Hope to see more from you in the future.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →With Fata Morgana done, it's time to spin again! And thus, the next game I'm checking out for Indie Hell Zone is Frail Hearts: Versicorae Domlion, by Sezhes! Not sure what to expect, but I like the vibes...
unlabelledView post →Quite good visual novel / RPG hybrid. Battles are quite few, but it tries to make each one a kind of challenging puzzle. Sometimes it succeeds, sometimes it doesn't. Overall quite a decent game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has so much depth that reveals in time. Just give yourself a little time to dive deeper, and you will be amazed by Frail Heart's atmosphere, music, characters. Personally I like Ann mostly, her situation resembles me my own life when I was a student.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very nice style and gameplay. Also simple tutorials to follow. I recomend it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played through release day. Got the bad ending, but I don't care. This game is a beautifully imagined lovecraftian dystopian journey through the psyche of 4 people and I want more!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is very cool and has a distinctive artstyle, very interesting to follow and amusing. Keeps you hooked while you progress, Combat style reminds me of a game i used to play as a child. But i noticed some complications in terms of story progression at first, maybe that gets cleared as the game launched and updates. Overall it's a very nice game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a fan of horrors, I enjoyed the game. The abominations are scary enough and well-designed. The music during the battles is intense and a bit disturbing, just as it should be, meanwhile in other scenes the music is rather melancholic. Besides, the musical themes completely match the characters. Also, it's a nice move to assign a particular color to each person in the game. Pixel animatons are expressive and elaborated, facial expressions convey the characters so well! The story is absorbing,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stilted writing and limited gameplay. Very mixed bag in terms of art and music. Has some interesting aspects but not something I particularly want to continue playing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →RPG Maker strikes again! Frail Hearts: Versicorae Domlion is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel RPG Maker asset/construction kit flips spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." While almost all RPG Maker "games" are essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets from RPG Maker coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club fan fiction, in this case most of the stock…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Have been live streaming this game and am only about one 5 hour session into this game but was blown away and had to write a review! CONS: -No resolution options -No option for windowed mode or borderless windowed. -steam notifications glitch out and flash in the corner for like 10 minutes, making the large amount of black space on the screen not even look aesthetic or nice. -have seen other reviews complain about SFX being very loud but there are slider options for music and sfx so you can…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like this game but it seem to be off to a slow start. Hope the characters are fleshed out and everything comes together.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great indie game: Characters a very well designed and developed, music is great, story feels fresh and intruiguing and the RPG fights are just the right amount with increasing difficulty and strategies along the way. My only complaint is the level up mechanic, wich i found a bit tedious, but overral Frail Hearts is a real gem.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The plot is very intriguing! Deep dialogues, wonderful music, unique visual style. Love the monsters' looks, the majority of them are really Lovecraft-inspired. Gonna replay the game, 'cause it's very interesting indeed!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The competent artistic design is not enough to carry the game. Frail Hearts looks good, specially the monsters. The music fits the atmosphere and gives each character a distinct ambiance. Sady, the story does not measure up to the same standards. Too many edgy powerful beings involved in a cryptic plot regarding the city of Gris. There was a weird choice of selecting very diverse characters in a group of four adventurers. Combat seems like an afterthought. The explanation of its mechanics…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Frail Hearts: Versicorae Domlion is a dark, emotionally charged fusion of horror-themed storytelling and JRPG mechanics, presenting a narrative experience that thrives on discomfort, symbolism, and the fragile humanity of its protagonists. Set in the decaying city of Gris, the game introduces players to a place where the boundaries between reality and inner torment have eroded. The world feels cursed, heavy with isolation and despair, and the people trapped within its borders carry their own…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/eEQwwY6axtU Oddity and uniqueness is the strongest factor in this multi-perspective RPG. Mechanics are overall weak but enough questions are put forth to entice players to solve them.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Frail Hearts: Versicorae Domlion is a really good jrpg, virtual novel styleg game with some pretty good lovecraftian elements in it, alright then the story. The dark and mysterious City of Gris, a unique place were many individuals call this place home, but not all is what it seems as the city is not just rotting from the previous great war, monsters have started to appear and four individuals know the truth. Each of these individuals not only are trying to uncover the madness of the city, but…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Full disclosure, I am one of the Kickstarter backers for this game but hopefully that won't tint my opinion of the game. I think this is a solid game. The narrative is that this is a stage play put together by the Domlion theater which somehow can view the characters' lives. So while it is a production from the theater's perspective it's real for the characters. Each story a different character, however while you're in that character's story you play as the other party members with Alexis…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I contacted the creator of this game on a whim as I loved the art style and I fell in love! Pros: - The art is AMAZING. - The story of the characters are all well written - It hits that macabre vibe that you aren't finding easily in gaming. Cons: - The fighting feels like a second though at times - Some parts of the game tend to lock you into moving on before your ready - It isn't 100% optomized yet. Nothing game breaking but sometimes steam notifications and actions don't work the best. I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty fun story, and the battles are neat too. The latter battles are quite tough, despite most of the others being a bit on the easy side. Could use a few more clear "point of no return" -markers, but it's not too long so they aren't a huge issue.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well... ♥♥♥♥... that was interesting. A very impactful story - though it impacted me square in the jaw with a bad ending. If you know me, you know how i have a big library of games and an even bigger wishlist. This results in me getting strange games recommended - games that few people play. They tend to have their own quirks and this one's quirks have me mixed. To get the true ending you need to find a way of navigating through stories of mulitple characters "the right way". I THINK the right…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was excited for this game and it totally lived up to my expectations! The dark and intriguing world of Gris is a setting I would LOVE to see more of. The art style and use of color is masterful, the characters are well thought out, and the RPG gameplay is both accessible and at time challenging. I did find it easy to overpower many of the early game bosses with your big damage attacks negating some of the strategy, but later enemies definitely put up a good and varied fight. If the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is worth playing. It raises some serious issues I consider important. There's certain harmony: the game is immersive but not stressing. I'm just exploring the story of the town (or the universe) accompanied by really great music. Love the characters of Anne and Michael!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the tone and setting, the story is captivating, also it is very polished. If you like classic rpg's this is for shure one to give a try.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't understand what was the goal of this game, very slow text speed lost me, and time is precious...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →pretty fun and interesting story
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love the art and stories and vibe...but multiple times the screen will freeze leaving me unable to play. I can hear the menu in the background but nothing changes. A shame -- I wanted to learn more about this world and the horrors within it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really hate playing a game that interests me type and vibe wise....but the screen freezes so I literally can't play it. (Frail Hearts) store.steampowered.com/app/1412890/...

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played the game for 9 hours straight, and was up for nearly 24 hours solely to beat the game in one session. I plan to play through the game again. I love the aesthetic, the music is stellar, and I enjoyed the story. The puzzle-like combats are cool and engaging, though the game is not particularly difficult (and I was playing on the highest difficulty). Honestly, I don't really have any complaints or gripes with the game... Well, there was that one fight where my entire party got…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I play this game as a visual novel. Alexis is a protagonist who impresses me deeply; it's rare for me to see a character with his personality take the lead. He is incredibly mysterious; although this year has just begun, he might become my favorite protagonist of the year. The music and art style are highly appealing; I really want a physical set of collectible cards. But there are still some aspects that leave me unsatisfied. 😞 ① I forgot to submit the "ring" to the Duke during my first…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game offers a captivating narrative experience that intertwines four distinct storylines, each with its own unique sense. One of the game's standout features is its intuitive gameplay and straightforward interactions. Navigating through the narratives feels effortless, that allowed me to focus entirely on the stories without being bogged down by complex mechanics. What I truly liked was the different approach to reachs the differents endings. The conditions to achieve for either a bad…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If I understood the story correctly, this game's story is a little bit genius. But, it's a little confusing, and it's possible I'm interpreting it completely wrong. The gameplay is not groundbreaking, it is more like a story-driven JRPG boss-rush game; there are no random encounters, no repeatable fights, just a couple dozen-ish (20-24) mandatory encounters and a few optional ones. I like the gothic lovecraftian setting, depressing atmosphere, and there's a couple great, moving musical pieces…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →developer is italian, but a few parts aren't translated into italian, and are only in english. pretty easy to understand, text doesn't move until you want it to. this is one of the better rpg maker games. a really well put together game. no grinding in this game. there are a set number of enemy encounters, so you want to manage your resources well. there is a shop where gear sells for half it's price, so you can really screw yourself if you accidentally buy a duplicate armor/weapon. you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This might be the only RPG Maker game that I fully recommend even though I can't finish it! I find this game to be really awesome, a mix of deep story, good character development, amazing artwork and music, and a creepiness you can't really find replicated. The battle system has some interesting ins and outs, and I found myself really thinking about character leveling and balancing equipment with needs. That being said, I can't finish the game because it's too hard. I made the mistake of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game! The soundtrack is amazing, the art style, the unique play style, all great. I like it as a visual novel, yet the combat system surprised me with how fun it was. I loved pursuing each of the character's stories, as well as trying to piece together the underlying plot. Very good, very fun, worth more than it costs in my opinion.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't understand the intro, much more the storyline.
