For this amount I can have a lot of much better made indie games in the city builder style - Soviet Republic is not much more expensive, Diplomacy is Not an Option is for the same price, Nordhold or Norland also looks good for that price. Unfortunately, the game has no feature that distinguishes it in any way, and is an…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DO NOT BUY THIS GAME! It is one of the most unpolished city builders I've seen. There is not enough content to justify even 1/4 of the price. To make matters worse it's insanely horribly optimized. The longer you play the more lag you get until you are literally playing in single digit FPS. The absolute kicker is that by the time you complete the tutorial thanks to all the lag it will be beyond the 2 hour playtime window for a refund.... Save yourself a headache and some money and remove this…

And in some ways, it delivers exactly that. The visuals are cozy, the music is soothing, and the act of placing down buildings and watching your small settlement grow has a satisfying rhythm. For the first couple of hours, I genuinely enjoyed my time…

Follow my curator page for more shallow empires, endless tree chopping, and worlds where pixels are smarter than rulers! 🏚️🌲✨ https://store.steampowered.com/curator/42602807-Osiris-Reviews/

Has the old Settlers/Age of Empires art style which I honestly adore and love. Great little town/city builder. Think Banished with Anno style house/settler upgrading. Solid game, Devs are cool and listened to the feedback that was given to them.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Been following the game for a while now and dumped dozens of hours into the demo version leading up to release. Made by a passionate team who has (imo) been able to capture a really enjoyable city building and colony management game - bonus points for being able to city build with friends! If you like cozy builders, pixel art charm, and games that can turn you into the mayor of a medieval spreadsheet, Folklands will scratch that itch perfectly. 11/10 - would build a lopsided village that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is off to a great start. I've tried other low-pressure builder games that didn't feel like games. This one does. There are some framerate issues and a bug here and there but I have enjoyed playing this for hours already (more hours in the demo, too).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Folklands is a city-building and settlement management game developed by Bromantic Games and published by Light Up Games. Built as a tribute to the classic strategy titles that defined the genre decades ago, the game embraces a slower and more methodical style of progression, focusing on the satisfaction of constructing a thriving community from humble beginnings. Rather than relying on constant conflict or high-stakes survival mechanics, it centers its gameplay around resource management,…

If so, you should run -- not walk -- to your nearest Steam device and get your hands on Folklands. Full review at birdworks.io/l/folklands

I love the random events that pop up, keeping things fresh and unpredictable. But as my village grew, managing everything manually could go hectic, I’d love to see some automation or AI to help with that in the future! Still, the progression is super satisfying, and I’m excited to see more tiers and content added! Can’t wait to…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hi guys!! Today I played Folklands demo developed by @folklandsgame.bsky.social It's a very great game where you will have to build your settlement The game mechanics are simple to understand and the gameplay is great!! #sundayindiereview #indiegame

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Saddly the game is broken.... the free demo seems to work tho. Demo was great and loved it so i bought the game (both demo and game on mac you need to manualy find and launch as it fails to launch on steam)... the demo seemed to progress fine but the full game it wont let you make a builders hut (doesnt unlock) or if it does unlock after placing settlement the road to connect the two doesnt unlock.... making progress not possible
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is cool, I feel like it does need improvements. I like at one point or another the happiest of the town started going down but the game didn't really explain how to fix that. And the fishing I feel like its broken, it gives you ability to put a harvest point where it puts a marker with fishing pole on a spot but it just keeps saying there no schools of fish but I could see the fish in the water. Like I said the game doesn't explain things good maybe I'm doing the fishing wrong. But…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My overall thoughts on the game is that it's pretty solid. However, there are some things I do dislike for example how you have to find the button to allow your builders to upgrade the homes which took me forever to find. Something like that I feel like should be automatically set as default. Another is the low amount of tools at the start which does hinder and restrict you but then again this is my first experience play through with the game. It's good to see a old fashioned feeling game which…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Active passionate devs making a chilled old school inspired city builder. Graphics and UI could do with some improvement and the limited music doesn't need to play on repeat. There's also a number of bugs but all of this can be ironed out over time. I'm enjoying it though, the core is there for a great game in time but whats there currently and for the asking price seems fair for now.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's chill and fun to play. The game will be getting bigger and better over the time!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun indie city-builder that you can pass several hours with. Check it out, especially on a sale.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game reminds me alot of Theotown, but with the charm of early european aesthetics. the dev is very active, always fixing things as they appear which is great. the art style is cute and the gameplay is easy to learn. cant wait for more updates with more content.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is my Unofficial Dabby Dubs of Folklands an Early Access Review copy of a game I plan to release a short review of soon.
