I played Florence which was beautiful and made me feel but I haven’t played a game in a few weeks I genuinely feel as connected to as SH2. I feel like I’m just playing games to play them rn. Feels weird. Sonic had also helped though ❤️

Renaissance Florence had almost 100,000 inhabitants. That's an INSANE number, and most games have room for like, 1000

unlabelledView post →A really gentle, emotional little experience. It’s simple to play, but it tells its story in such a warm and relatable way that it sticks with you. The music and art style fit the mood perfectly, and it feels more like reading a short graphic novel than playing a game. Short, but very memorable and worth it.

It is a relatable story showing not only the nice part of any relationship but also the not so nice parts leading to finally going different ways. Losing in a fight against that guy shouldn't have been a steam achievement XD Solution to puzzles are also so beautiful and meaningful especially the one from the last chapter showing moving forward is the only way to finally let go and move on. Even though the story is very simple, they succesfully deliver it smooth enough that you don't ever get bored. Your subconscious is trying to make connections with Florence's life and we all do have similarities. And therefore it touches you in different ways. Looking at the sketches, I can see that there is a real effort behind the game. The Devs have surely made a good job…

The small moments between the characters remind me of things many people experience in relationships, from the excitement of meeting someone new to the changes that happen as people grow together. While playing, I found myself thinking about how some people can leave a lasting impact on our lives, even if they are only with us for a short time. The game is a short but touching experience that shows love is not just about…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very short. 100% in 45 minutes. And then, I idled for cards. It's alright, I guess. Story was kinda meh but also a pretty realistic depiction of life. I wouldn't call it sad or bittersweet, though. Okay for the dollar I paid; wouldn't pay more than that, really. Well, I don't dislike it, so it's a YES. I guess it's good for those looking for a quick 30-min calming distraction. But maybe only 6/10. (more so because it was a pretty game, and it gave me 100% achievement in such a short time.)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I... I never knew. I mean, I kinda knew, I've always heard of this game, but!! I didn't know!! But it's maybe for the better. I'm playing this game while being almost exactly the age of the protagonist, thus her experiences were very relatable. Yet, all I can think about having finished it is... I gotta get out and live. I have to go out and live.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I paid 1.00 for his so I can't be TOO mad but I cannot see the appeal of Krish at all, he is a insecure hobosexual who leeches the emotional energy out of Florence without putting any effort in. Tell me why there is an achievement to let him WIN the argument when he clearly said something underhanded? You have to sit there and let this guy that offers nothing yell at the MC. The best part of this game was packing up one singular item per screen to give back to this dusty man and keeping all his…

My amazing friends helped get through my toughest moments. I was then gifted this game by her. Even though I've heard of this game before I decided to give it a try. It was beautiful. There were so many moments in this game that felt so relatable to me. I cried when Florence found it easier and easier to talk to Krish on their first dates,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game reminded me that growing up means carrying all the weight life throws at us: routines that numb us, expectations that suffocate us, heartbreaks that leave us empty, and the fear of not knowing who we are supposed to become. Then one day, we meet someone who suddenly colors our world. They make life feel warmer, brighter, and meaningful in ways we never imagined. For Florence, that person was Krish, and through their relationship, the game captures the excitement of love so naturally:…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Visual novel without novel. A banal love story. It's as if this game tried to be "What Remains of Edith Finch" in terms of gameplay and presentation but, alas, Florence ultimately ended up as a mediocre experience because of its tiny scope and cliche story.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is really beautiful, telling a touching & relatable story about a young woman in her twenties who falls in love, only to rediscover herself & her passions when life doesn’t go as planned. It’s a short experience, but one that lingers with you long after you finish it. For the price, it’s definitely worth picking up!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Playing Florence was a short but deeply emotional experience ( ⸝⸝´꒳`⸝⸝) The art style is simple yet incredibly expressive, and the music ties perfectly to every moment, making even small scenes feel meaningful. What I loved the most was how the gameplay subtly reflected Florence’s emotions - puzzle pieces coming together when things felt right, and falling apart when they didn’t. It’s such a clever and touching way to tell a story without needing many words. I admired how the game…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let's do this quickly because you can be done with this game in less than two hours. The game certainly wants to be done with you in less than two hours, so it's fair. Florence is a mixture of brilliant ludonarrative resonance and a car crash. The way it translates our titular Florence's state of mind and difficulties into small minimages of dwindling difficulty as she gains more confident and grows more comfortable is well worth a play through. The main story beats and the color palette, the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's time for me to be the detractor again on a short, cute, artsy game. And I'm gonna be honest, it's not really fair either, but there's so many other pieces of media that accomplish what Florence is trying to do way better. If I can give two credits to the game, the music and overall style of the game is quite nice, and I like the way they used the puzzle pieces in the speech bubble segments in a way that conveyed emotion and diction without actually using speech. But unfortunately the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This a very interesting game to bring up when tackling the "video games are art" subject. Traditional video games definitely are just that (art), although it may not always be obvious to an onlooker. Florence shows that video games can also be something akin to an interactive painting or a piece of music; a short jolt of emotion enhanced by your participation in the process - something resembling traditional art more closely. Still, every medium has it's own unique ways on conveying meaning…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Florence is a simple and calming game, but it leaves a strong impression. The music feels peaceful and fits perfectly with the overall atmosphere. Even without any dialogue, the developers did a great job building a story that feels personal and easy to relate to. What stood out the most was the ending—seeing Florence finally figure out her direction in life and slowly bring color back into it felt really satisfying.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While this game is short, it is a fun and deep look at adult life, the occasional curve balls you might have to deal with, and how life will always find a way forward. Apologies for the very vague review, but it is a game you should not be spoiled on. As a side note for completionists, it is an easy one to add to your collection!
