Fleet Command, previously labelled as Jane's Fleet Command, is a real-time tactics naval warfare simulation computer game released in May 1999. It was developed by Sonalysts Inc. and published by Electronic Arts (EA). The game licensed parts of Jane's Information Group's military information database, which was used as an in-game "Jane's Library", reference material that the player could refer to while in-game. Bought this while waiting for "Sea Power : Naval Combat in the Missile Age" to be released. There are a few game breaking bugs such as when aircraft can no longer land on the carrier and eventually run out of fuel. You can avoid it by not cancelling aircraft takeoffs. In the 12 hours so far its only crashed once. If you do get this I REALLY recommend getting dgVoodoo which can solve a lot of…

The game on Linux The game runs Ok via Proton, but might need some tinkering. You can install nGlide via wineprefix and play with 3D acceleration, but it's hardly worth the effort, since graphics looks like crap either way. Best experience with Proton 3.16.

For an expanded gameplay experience do some googling and find the "NWP" mod. Lots of additional content (for free) with that. Got this game on a sale for like $3 and have spent my whole week thinking about it and playing it. Highly reccomend.

The Naval Warfare Project (NWP) mod is an absolute must, as it add so much modern content from the past two decades. I honestly haven't had any issues with running it on current systems, and if there was a graphical update this could be re-released and I would be happy as is.

unlabelledView post →Absolutely amazing, specially for a 1999 game Got it recently while trying to cope with the sea power wait, it's been filling the gap quite welll, surprisingly good even in W10 Bugs are there, and they are quite annoying, it would definitely be nice if it received some bugfixes and native 16:9 support However the fleet management, carrier management and the scenarios included are top notch, the sea power teasers feel like a remaster of this game, which is well in order haha
