The game does however work and plays smoothly on the core i7 and NVIDIA GT 770 under windows 7 64-bit. Looking past the obviously dated graphics, the gameplay is fun. Limited resolution, too many buttons, lack of full support for gamepad, it adds up to a somewhat frustrating flying experience when you just want to blow **** up. One would have hoped that whoever made it run on modern platforms (it does run fine on Win7x64) would have bothered to create a decent mapping for gamepad, but no luck here. Xbox joystick, only a couple functions work - then it wants mouse and keyboard. I'll try again - as something must have been wrong? so far I can't recommend.

So unpopular it doesn't even have any workarounds documented in https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Fair_Strike I got it because I love Kamov's coaxial rotor and bathtub armor, but this game will take a lot of work to get it from "crashes when I try to set the video resolution" all the way to "actually fun". I think I'll just go replay ARMA3's chopper missions instead. PS: it's weird how the Crossout / War Thunder / IL-2…

The game runs fine as long as you don't change the resolution for some reason. Controls are also a little wonky and I couldn't seem to change them. Overall an old interesting game worth its price.

It is buggy and clunky, I wish there was a modern(2017) remake of this remake (2004)with updated graphics and sound. I am recommending this because this genre has nothing like it on steam. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i would've given this a positive review, but it's impossible - aside from the helicopter variety (cockpit-wise especially), there's little change in movement to each of them, the wingman can be a hit-or-miss, and - shocker - you have NO knowledge something's locking onto you or targetting you outside of incoming gunfire tracers, even if there are sounds related to... some form of lock-on in the game files, and you have no idea how to tell damage while in the cockpit view. on this technical side…
