60 of 189 · most liked firstI love sci-fi type games and despite the overall “mixed” review on the Steam store page for this title, I decided to give it a go. First and foremost, I’d like to will give the devs two thumbs-up for their tremendous effort on this project. I am not a programmer or game designer but I can only imagine the challenges of making a game on a very tight budget and hoping against all odds the project will not only excel but also be instrumental in making a name for the business. So, on the off-chance…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →BEFORE YOU BUY THIS GAME It's short, made by a small dev team, and gameplay is probably the worst you will ever experience. That's about the short summary of the game. I bought this at great discount (I think about 90% off). I saw the trailer and it looked interesting to me: - a shooter - alien world - a mystery I personally love games with a story/mystery. I knew before buying the game that the gameplay would be not as good as I'm used to. The good: - story kept me interested/curious…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A small game with big dreams, shooting for the stars it can barely reach. It plays like a clumsy love letter to Mass Effect—earnest, but rough around the edges. The opening moments hold promise, yet it doesn't take long before the cracks start to show, making it hard to recommend without hesitation. Still, its ambition is clear enough that it's hard to truly hate.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yeah... I thought it looked interesting so I gave it a shot. I mean the sale price is GREAT! But lots of invisible walls, the bad guys shoot THROUGH buildings, you get stuck on things you can't see, etc. I gave it an hour and a half, but I gotta give it a no. Maybe on a day where I have more patience I'll try again.

Gotta love 'em, right? Not only we've got those huge AAA titles that look incredibly realistic, modern technologies also allowed small teams to achieve quite a lot. Even when it's just you and a couple of your friends, you can still make a game that looks competitive. And it's a great thing. I mean, it's just that – small teams making good-looking projects,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The negative outweighed the positive. But If you have 1 dollar to spare and time to waste and enjoy playing as a mildly attractive protagonist with awkward movements animation then sure. Why not Only thumbs this up because it's a dollar on sale
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If it's on sale, it's a maybe but everything feels like it's actively working in a way to prevent you from enjoying the game. Whether it's the combat and movement coming to a full stop so you can draw, holster, or swap weapons, or whether you want to be slowed to a crawl just to listen to a conversation, the inability to manually save, the infrequent checkpoints, or the boxes that are locked with a timed puzzle mini-game that you cannot exit out of, and it will lock you out of it permanently if…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thanks to steam rating system, I can't be 100% accurate with my rating. In gog terms, I give this game a 3/5. This game is way more amateur than I thought it would be. It reminds me of the tons of "asset flips" that were "popular" a decade ago on steam. Don't judge it too quickly though; it's not exactly another one of those. According to credits, very few people worked on it. It does feel like a game made by a small team, with rough gameplay animations and cheap graphical features. It…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Underreach: Project Boredom Summary: An unfinished, uninspired and forgettable action shooter with bad controls, bland characters, and nothing noteworthy to experience. Review: A lot of this game takes its inspiration from games like Halo (Arrays) and Mass Effect's initial mission on Eden Prime... probably the “Eden” of this game's title. You even combat enemies called “Eclipse”, and flying drones, much like Eden Prime's first enemies. Tall spires of alien origin litter the landscape, as do…

I wanted to call it a 2000's game. And this is still. But a bad unpolished 2000's game. Let me start from the pros. People who made music and textures here, You should find a new team. Your skills much, much higher than yours colleagues. I really liked graphics here and music tracks. They don't belong here. Really. Because the other…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Doesn't deserve the hate. Everreach:Project Eden has some issues, it's true. However these issues are mostly minor, reflecting it's budget and if you're willing to adapt and overcome them, you'll find a nice looking charming game. The story was interesting, you play as Nora Harwood, a security officer for Everreach, a capitalist super corpo who's recent efforts to colonise Eden have suddenly come to a halt. You go in to investigate with your team to discover what's happened but all may not be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okay, so imagine everything you hated about all of the Mass Effect games (including Andromeda). From horrible controls of the Mako, the annoying camera angles, and mildly annoying game play of Mass Effect 1 to the strange facial graphics and glorified "walking simulator" aspects of Andromeda, to the rehashed story of ... I won't spoil it for those who, for some reason, actually want to play this game. Now, increase the frustration factor of all of those issues by 1,000% (for example, imagine…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can't believe how bad this game is. bought for £2 on sale & I still think I overpaid. The animation are terrible, movement is clunky, the voice 'acting' is shocking, the cut scenes are numerous, pointless, poorly done and most importantly UNSKIPPABLE. The sound effects are loud, over the top, cheap and just plain annoying. Seriously - just don't bother! even on sale
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let's just say the store page screenshots take some creative liberties... It's not very fun, there's some good qualities, but not enough to recommend. If you feel like it, it often goes on sale for a dollar, so I mean I guess if you want. Pros: Music is rather decent. Upgrade system isn't horrible. The maps don't look half bad, but the screenshots on the store page are misleading. Small Overview of the Cons: - It wastes time, the enemies always know where you are. - Combat is unresponsive,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Likes: Not much to like... Dislike: Everything. Checkpoint saves. If you want to change the settings, you have to go to the main menu. Which stops the game and you resume at the previous checkpoint save. At the main Menu, you can select "New Game", Continue, or Settings/options. If you have already hit a checkpoint save marker, then want to start a "New Game"it just continues from the last checkpoint save! To get a new, NEW game you have to delete the checkpoint save. Stupid mini-games to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yeah, I'm going to recommend it, but under the context that I got this on sale for about $2.50. I strongly recommend against paying full price for it, because holy crap there are some genuinely terrible design decisions in this game, but it's ok for an indie project. Being honest, this game is not a good game in most ways. The frame rate is all over the place, the controls are crap, and the animations are rough. The hacking mini-games and driving sections are genuinely awful. But! This…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Although I got this game on sale, I still feel like I still got ripped off. This game has so many problems and so many issues as well as it shows more amateur-ish development than it does a "AAA" game. What you are about to read is not exaggerated, these are real issues you will face when you play this game. Some of the problems include, but not limited to... 1.) One of the most frustrating thing about this game is that, this is a PC game, but clearly meant for a console. Why would you make…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is just Mass Effect at home, it's so amateurish and low budget to an almost charming degree. Get it on sale dont overreach your pocket
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game has great bones but the creators put no meat on them! The graphics and world look good but it's completely empty, lonely, boring. Controls were fine on Steam Deck You can upgrade your character but it's irrelevant, I think I upgraded once and just forgot about it and finished the game just fine. Weapons are always the same. There are puzzles but it's just tacked on busy work, I chose to ignore the ones I could, such as those for opening supply crates that I didn't need. Which was all…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wow that has to be the shortest game I've ever played, 7 hours. Fun though. Definitely Mass Effect on a budget, and definitely more to this story, weather they take it further is yet to be seen. Simple and easy to play, nothing complicated.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I always cut indie devs some slack, but this is just not fun. 2 hours in and I have to get any of the "cool" skills. Do the guns at least feel good to shoot? Sorry no. Movement feels floaty. Maybe it gets better later on, but I am already bored. Graphics are nice though.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Low budget Mass Effect! First the controls: The layout shown on the loading screen is wrong LB on xbox one controller is not sprint. The left stick click is sprint and there's no toggle sprint option. Camera rotation is painfully slow on controller. Voice acting: It's pretty bad and sometimes sounds a little robotic like those bad ai voice overs. Graphics: Get the job done. Music: Is okay. Story: Can't tell you much, I got stuck on an infinite loading screen after the hover bike chase…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I totally recommend this game if: 1) You buy it with discount. 2) You want a story. 3) You like Mass Effect's mechanics (as the health and shield mechanics are the same) 4) You can tolerate some minor issues.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this game in a steep discount through a bundle deal. The game itself isn't awful, it's engaging enough that I wanted to see this game through till the end. But the story itself is lacking, it shows lots of promise though. Personally I wouldn't have released this game like this. Combat controls do not demand you to be precise, you just need to aim in the general direction. The graphics looks pleasant to me. Controls on the space scooter however are down-right bad. Would prefer if they…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I cannot recommend this game. My playtime is almost 4 hours, but if I were to eliminate the bugs, broken mechanics and "puzzles" to open the chests, I estimate 2 hours tops. Despite my Alt-F4 buttons no longer working, I persisted to the end... and I'm actually glad I did. Mechanically, this game is bug-heaven - but functional, as in you can reach the end eventually. The game looks good enough, the music is fine and story is also quite good. Voice actors do a decent job, but... Everything…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You have to go into this understanding it is a low budget game. It is low budget. The controls and enemy AI are wonky, the hoverbike sections are not great, and the models and art are a little odd at times. It was probably made by like three people, at most. I think it is good for what it is. It is good for a low budget title. If this was made by a major AAA publisher, I would consider it absolute trash, but that's not who made it. It's got surprisingly few bugs considering. I haven't really…

While the game shows clear potential, it ultimately falls short of its ambitious vision. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do game-developers, who deserve so, end up in hell? That's what you question yourself, when playing this game. I'd like to recommend it, because the overall idea, doesn't seem to bad, but "Elder Games" seemingly didn't play their own game, or it's just a horrible console-port. The game: Starting pretty o.k., options seemed alright, even auto-set graphics on high details etc., then a short intro, you get started etc., the regular fit. In the beginning you even consider: "Oh, a game,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Saw a review calling this a mass effect rip off and another telling me to see it as a PS2 game ported to PC to lower expectations but honestly both are insults to those lofty comparisons. Mass effect is great and the PS2 was a golden age for gaming. This game is trash, it's buggy, the maps are huge and empty. The traversal is terrible and you can't even jump off ledges, I don't meant to intentionally die I mean to get to lower ground, you have to take the stairs! You can't even jump at all,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun...? Not really. Original...? Not particularly. Controls...janky. Subtitles...can't be turned off. Animation...awful; I can (and have) done better. Voice acting...similarly awful; I can (and have) done better. Meh and double-meh.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →2 out of 5 stars. The story is interesting and it looks pretty good but the overall game suffers from a multitude of minor annoyances. Sparse and poorly located save points mean frequent frustration of having to redo entire sections. If a controller is plugged in, the game will hide the keyboard/mouse control scheme despite which one is actively used. The AI is meh and occasionally finds a way to shoot players through intervening objects. Controls are twitchy but can be somewhat fixed by…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Everreach: Project Eden is a short, linear, and quite enjoyable space adventure rpg– at least if you check your expectations. My recommendation is based on a 95% discount after all. The female protagonist is “muy simpatico”, the controls are a bit wonky, the achievements are reasonably easy to complete. As always, some will dislike it (too short) and others will like it (pleasantly short = doesn’t overstay its welcome). Not sure? Then there are playthroughs on YouTube.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm going to give this a positive review. Yes its short, yes its overpriced, yes its not the best made in so many ways. But. I did enjoy it overall. It does feel like the original Mass Effect built by a tiny team, so they deserve some credit for that. I would recommend getting it on sale for a play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very clunky and rough around the edges action shooter. Easy on the eyes protagonist, low quality voice acting. Visually nothing great, poor animation, boring combat. Bad vehicle controls, stupid AI, empty environments.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You've got a start here, but it's fairly clear you wanted to be Mass Effect. The problem is that Mass Effect had a strong RPG/Dialogue system with a interesting story. The first Mass Effect had questionable levels of good combat, fixed later by their definitive edition and now the slow parts are made up for by generally decent combat. Everreach Project Eden does neither of those things. I could forgive the lack luster story and generally uninteretsing choices, but the combat is such a drag.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I actually wasn't going to recommend this at first. While innovative and fun, it can be confusing to actually understand and play (mostly the upgrades and hoverbike controls). That said, I loved the ending. I really did. That alone makes it worth playing once. It's a really short game, less than 6 hours. It lacks in a lot of aspects but it feels like good groundwork for a sequel or just as a standalone.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Considering that only a handful of people worked ont his game they did a great job. It's obviously too short (~5h), i.e. needs a lot more content. There are a bunch of rough edges and minor bugs, but they did a lot of things well that small teams usually struggle a lot with. If you see it as a demo, of what they can do concerning all the different aspects of a game: Pretty impressive
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has a great idea, just needs more of a budget. Its a cross between mass effect and tomb raider. Puzzles are more like Dragon Age Inquisition star puzzles... not a good idea timer is urgency. Not a lot of people will take to it and its assumed that the player understands the premise... NEVER assume a thing about a player. The technical aspect is alright but the disconnect comes with loading screens. The settings leaves alot to be desired. The shooting ridicule not ideal. graphically…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →👍 I don't want to write a review for this game, but I do want to give this game a thumbs up to help the games ratings because I enjoyed my experience with it 👍 Everreach: Project Eden feels and plays like an old original xbox game that was faithfully remastered. It's janky, has questionable design decisions, and has -so- missing staples and features expected of just about any modern video game. But past all of that, and various bugs, and poor designs, etc. I really don't care. Ever Reach…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Respect to a small dev for creating what they could, but would only recommend this when it's on special which happens quite often at -90%. Fairly short game (3-5 hours) with some janky combat and controls, but at least it was possible to complete with an attempt at some story variation. The achievements also weren't too hard to get which is a plus. For those who are looking for lower budget Mass Effect-like games, there are other better options such as the Technomancer or The Bureau: XCOM…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm sure someone worked hard on this game but it is absolutely atrocious. The comparisons to Mass Effect in the reviews are completely unfounded and inappropriate. Sadly, nothing in this game is executed well. Everything is clunky, unintuitive and entirely lacking in refinement, polish and any sort of enjoyment. Avoid at all costs. Not even worth your time at a heavy discount. Game mechanics have surpassed this ages ago. I really don't understand the intended experience that was trying…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Since other reviews already mentioned the "We have Mass Effect at home" meme, I'd like to double down on that because it's also the main selling point here: If you like the aesthetics and feel of BioWare's Space Opera (sleek, shiny, futuristic space colony setting with exploring and shooting) and you're okay with a quick, partially underbaked snack instead of a full meal, this game might be worth a look - only when on sale though, current asking price is way too steep for what it has to offer,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am not a hardcore fan of the genre. Nor am I a masochist. But for the price of a coffee on sale, and on the intended challenging difficulty, this delivered a perfectly good time - completed in just under eight hours total. I appreciate going in that it's not a great long AAA epic. And yes the camera is kind of close and the anatomy on the characters is bizarre. The voice work adds a decent dimension to the experience and they have the guy who does the voice on the Honest Trailers. The rifle…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Indie Mass Effect. Joke comparison aside this game is a mixed bag. On one hand i liked the story, Characters, and world BUT on the other side the game play, exploration, technical problems, and poor rpg elements really drag this down. While i did beat the story it took roughly 4 hours and that's counting me getting lost twice and getting stuck multiple times due to the poor controls of the hover bike sections. Would i recomend this game? only on a deep sale and only if you know what you're…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →bought the game at mayor discount, for as little as 2 euro..., and boy i am glad i did not waste more money on it, cause damn, my love for the hover bike in the game is virtually non existent. it does not move the way it should, you can not look around and even looking ahead is too difficult if you park it near an obstacle...; since the game does not allow to skip a level, to advance with out reaching the destination.., i just rage quit mission 3. uninstalling and forgetting i have played it is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →More fun to play than any billion dollar "AAA" that disgusts the gameplay with WOKE degeneration. Great main character and many interesting ideas, plays as well as Mass Effect 1. I would take all the money from Ubistoft and Gearbox and give it to the author of EVERREACH, then we would have a hit.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like games that frustrate you and annoy you - (and that gives you a challenge!) then may be pick this up when it on sale for $1. Otherwise probably avoid. It clearly had the potential to be quite good fun, and even just a few changes would have made it a good budget game. The most annoying things: 1. VERY infrequent checkpoints. Example: Get a 2 part objective - succeed in part 1, but die in part 2 - oh sorry no you didn't get a checkpoint save after the first part, instead you have to…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really, really wanted to enjoy this game. Looking at other reviews, I removed and re-added it to my wishlist for awhile, finally buying it now. Do you remember how cringy the models and animations were on RPGs from 10+ years ago? That kind of stiff movement, lacking expression, never matching the urgency of the moment? Well this game will have you remembering it all like it was yesterday. And the controls are just as stiff and clunky as the visuals, making pretty much every situation…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the controller options are terrible! You can hardly turn yourself left and right even after attempting to change the x and y axis of the controller through the options menu, the developers did not finish coding the controller part of the game and its terrible. How is it verified for steam deck and its not even ready for steam desk top?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really didn't know what to expect when going into this game. I received it in a Fanatical bundle, so I knew it wasn't some very high end AAA game, but I didn't expect what I got either. So in essence, Project Eden is a third-person game about a girl named Nora where she is sent on a mission to aid the civilians of the colony and figure out what's going on. I got only to the second area and got incredibly bored and annoyed then ended up stopping/ uninstalling. So a lot of the issues with…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's like a cheap Mass Effect clone, it is obviously ported from console and it shows. The game feels like its in late alpha or early beta, I could start to tell you what was annoying but you can also read most other negative reviews..... they're right! This game is not worth more than 2$ at a key seller. Also it was released 2 years ago and look at the version number... it won't get any better.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This wasn't nearly as bad as the reviewers seem to think. Yes, it has quirks for days, but it was entertaining and the story was good. Nora handled actually quite nicely and mechanics worked for me. On the downside, the game was too short. There was more material to be made to additional story and the length made upgrading slightly irrelevant. I just got a taste for it and the game ended. There are more downsides, but the feel of the game was overall good. It's very much a Mass…
