What people are saying

Mixed reception: praised for potential, but AI and balance issues frustrate many.

Many players praise the game's potential as a first-of-its-kind CS manager, with some calling it '100 times better than the first demo' and noting the devs are 'putting some love into this'. However, a large number of negative reviews criticize the AI as 'completely illogical' and 'idiotic', with players making 'random' decisions that ruin the management experience. [10][16][17][26]

Common complaints include unbalanced gameplay where 'T side is extremely OP' and building a team from scratch is 'absolutely miserable' due to lack of lower-tier tournaments and financial struggles. Some also allege the game feels like 'AI slop' or 'vibe-coded slop', and that it should have been Early Access. [21][24][25][36][7]

Praised potential · updates and dev support · custom database tool
Criticised AI decision-making · balance (T side OP) · lack of lower-tier tournaments · starting from scratch difficulty

The game feels like AI slop. The biggest issue is the in-game AI during rounds it makes completely illogical decisions that ruin the management aspect of the game. Matches often feel random instead of being decided by strategy or good roster building. The idea has potential, but in its current state I can't recommend it.

The update on 25/08/26 completely removed any of the real orgs or players and now its 100% ai slop. Not to mention how horrible the management system in this game is.

I have around 30 hours in the game, so I feel like I've seen enough to give a fair opinion. (FYI: I haven't actively followed the Counter-Strike esports scene since around COVID-19, so some of my feedback comes from a casual CS fan rather than a competitive expert.) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Short version. The people leaving this negative reviews are crazy. The update made the game 100x times better. "AI SLOP!1!111!!" You simply go into the workshop or the embd.gg site and download a real world database that has all real life players, teams, staff, logos, pictures etc. Why would you ever play the default database anyway? The recent negative reviews are from idiots to put it frankly who clearly don't play many management sims. This is common practice.

Still not ready, players saving when theyve planted bomb and are in 1v2 scenarios allowing CT's to defuse, players clearing sites and teams not following them and instead entering a full bomb site, players not rotating when enemies push a site. Long way to go but theres potential here, contract negotiations and transfer negotiating is finicky too.

I really tried too hard to like this game as a CS and Football Manager fan with an estimated playtime of 5000+ hours. However, its obviosuly lacking the core mechanics. Our tactical decisions dont seem to have any real impact on the gameplay. There are many tactical options but most of them do not make any difference, they just feel random. T side is extremely OP, some tactics are undefeated. Also the fast sim is ridiculously unrealistic. No-name teams easily beat my team (Aurora). Even on…

Unbalanced, and Wasted Potential As a huge fan of professional Counter Strike, and someone who only plays career mode on FIFA since I like building teams and managing them, this seemed like the perfect game for me. Unfortunately unless you play as a top 5 team in the world, it's nearly impossible to get any enjoyment out of this game. If you want to play even semi-realistically, building a team from the bottom, or even taking a tier 2 side to glory, you're going to be absolutely miserable.…

The AI of the players are the main draw for this game, but it is so so BAD and makes the game very boring and unrealistic. The demo predicted how this game would turn out based on how much AI was used. Nothing changed on their "Full" release. Vibe-coded slop, stay away.

Yes, yes... 5 star teams go to T4 tournaments. I believed it. Also, half of the teams have parody names. The artificial intelligence is still as idiotic as it was. Who needs this update at all if it didn't improve the gameplay in any way, but simply increased the number of teams and tournaments? Remove this piece of crap from Steam, don't be ashamed.

All the negative reviews expect far too much already of a game which is the first of its kind for Counter Strike fans. Yes it needs work in terms of AI in the game and the strats not always matching up, but the custom tool is actually fairly decent, the whole experience is satisfying and it’s one of those relatively cheap games you’ll play to switch off with. If it doesn’t improve with updates in a few months time I’ll change my mind, but if you want a game you can play without much thought…

I have been wanting a CS manager akin to Football Manager ever since I played Esports Club back in 2017 and while it has taken way too long for a studio to make one, I'm glad it is finally here. While this game does a lot of things right and brings in a lot of cool ideas, most of it still feels like a partially finished concept rather than a polished experience. What I like: I like the overall structure of the game and I think it shows a promising potential. They already successfully…

Was really excited for the game but after playing it non stop since it's release i'm disappointed. As fun as it is to take over a T1 Org, I jumped straight into building your own organization and the experience was horrendous. Your team is competing in T2 events and you get trampled by T1 orgs. I wanted to build a team from scratch using nothing but the normal budget but it seems like an impossible task at the moment. Managing your team within rounds also feels lack luster as the AI isn't that…

Great potential, but an Early Access launch would have been much smarter Overall Verdict (after 21 hours of playtime): The game is genuinely fun for me. I have been playing Counter-Strike since 2005 and have followed the esports scene ever since. If you are a fan of the tactical shooter world, the core concept definitely works. At first i thought it was a great game but after a while i realized that this game is just like constantly hitting the wall with your head. The players just never meet their potential, if you want better players you either have to get lucky or save for like 3 years to afford the players so you could compete. Which I would accept if quick sim wouldn't be so damaging, you will lose the matches you 100% would win if u watched it. I and probably many other don't want to spend hours looking at…

I support making a game in this area, I believe it's a good first game in this genre, and people that really follow CS esport will most likely have a good time playing it. However, the game has a lot of issues. These problems are not "serious". They do not make the game unplayable. They will not make the game "unfun". They mainly limit the player experience (the game could be deeper) and takes him out of the game sometimes (unrealistic or even ridiculous things happen, whether "in management"…

There is barely any progression (even with the best trainer that is way to expensive) and you end up just swapping out every player. I want to like it but there are so many NEGATIVE things that happen that punish you as a manager to make it fun. Why are my players and staff sick or injured so often? Rather than controlling players directly, you oversee every aspect of a professional esports organization. Recruitment, contract negotiations, coaching staff, finances, sponsorships, scouting, and tournament preparation all fall under your responsibility. While it's true that it's... mediocre, I don't consider it as the key problem. You're playing a *manager* simulator, not as a coach or a player, so somewhat unrealistic simulation that is based on numbers rather than tactics is fine IMO. Trying to build a team from the ground up is absolutely miserable: - You don't get to play in tournaments because you'll be stomped in the qualifiers by higher ranking teams - You can't make any money because even the lowest tier of sponsors won't touch you - Your players and staff will randomly get injured which tanks your (already tiny) chances of winning games This game only works when you select easy mode and jump into managing an established T1 organisation. Do not buy (yet).

This game has a LOT of issues. 1. Qualifiers for tournaments put you instantly against some of the best teams in the world, its hard to build your teams morale when I am starting a new team of T3 players and the first match is always against a top 30 opponent. 2. The game has potential but needs a lot of improvements. It’s missing a few key positions, such as ‘entry’ and ‘2nd entry’, tailored specifically to ‘donk’-type players so they can shine. I’d also perhaps add a division of roles into defensive and offensive positions, so that, for example, players can be set up in specific formations, such as an ‘anchor’ formation, etc. There’s also plenty of room for improvement in terms of how tactics work within the game itself – something along the lines…
