The residents of a rural mining town discover that an unfortunate chemical spill has caused hundreds of little spiders to mutate overnight to the size of SUVs. It's then up to mining engineer Chris McCormack and Sheriff Sam Parker to mobilize an eclectic group of townspeople, including the Sheriff's young son, Mike, her daughter, Ashley, and paranoid radio announcer Harlan, into battle against the bloodthirsty… From TMDB

unlabelledView post →I think RJ city should use his connections to David Arquette and the AEW roster to remake the 2002 classic "Eight Legged Freaks" but instead of giant CGI spiders mauling people it's just Thekla.
unlabelledView post →You ever seen the movie Eight Legged Freaks? Did the mention of that movie unlock a memory? youtu.be/yUQyyfdrDJ0?...
unlabelledView post →One of my comfort films has always been EIGHT LEGGED FREAKS. It packs the 50s and 80s monster movie charm and it’s goofy as hell. Overlooked way too much. Watched it again tonight and it never gets old.
unlabelledView post →I think about this movie semi-regularly, but ONLY because pixelated posters for it appear in the FPS for Eight Legged Freaks that played when you put the movie's DVD in the PC. I think about the Eight Legged Freaks FPS quite a lot
unlabelledView post →Eight Legged Freaks was released on this day in 2002. This was how I learned about trapdoor spiders! 🕷️ 🖤🎥🍿 #horrormovies
unlabelledView post →superhero fan: what's your favourite Spider-Man movie? guy who's never heard of Spider-Man and thinks "Spider-Man movie" means movies with spiders and men in: umm prolly Eight Legged Freaks
unlabelledView post →These are movies of my childhood😂 I watched Starship Troopers everyday for MONTHS 😭😂 Eight Legged Freaks was my younger brother’s favourite movie when I was in grade 2ish so we watched that everyday before school for awhile too😂😭 Something seriously wrong with us😂😂😂
unlabelledView post →I sold movie tickets to Conor Oberst once. He paid to see Eight Legged Freaks in a theatre.
unlabelledView post →“Godzilla” (1998)? Having a lot of Baby Godzillas chase the inept heroes around actually works, not on a “Godzilla” level, obviously, but on a pure creature feature level.* The smaller size ironically makes the stakes feel bigger. *Emmerich would later produce such a film, “Eight Legged Freaks.”
unlabelledView post →I would like to personally throw out a big ol heaping helping of FUCK YOU to the movie Eight Legged Freaks for giving me this crippling fear of spiders
unlabelledView post →This film was fun and the right kind of cheesey. John Goodman steals the show as always. It did get better when I realized this film wasn't Eight Legged Freaks, I combined them in my head and was waiting for the big goofy ones and over the top shit. For what this film is, its a fun time.

unlabelledView post →Comics Eight Legged Freaks movie adaptation. Written by Marv Wolfman, interiors by Joe Phillips. My nephew LOVED this movie as a child, I watched it more times than I can count… comic tells the story differently. 50¢ pickup!
unlabelledView post →Eight Legged Freaks is an awful title. They also forgot the hyphen. Given the tone of that movie they shoulda just called it Attack of the Spiders or The Night of Spider Mayhem.
unlabelledView post →Hooptober movie 6/31: EIGHT LEGGED FREAKS (2002) This movie's greatest sin is never deciding if it's gonna be an ironic monster movie, or a heartfelt emulation of old monster movies. Instead it's a tonal mess that deviates so wildly the spiders damn near talk. letterboxd.com/gavingwhiz/f...
unlabelledView post →Eight Legged Freaks - 9/10 A very wild movie that I kept almost watching for years and finally watched.
unlabelledView post →Marian made spider pizza and Mab made spider cupcakes, because EIGHT LEGGED FREAKS is on the horror movie bingo card tonight.
unlabelledView post →What's like the best spider movie? Its this one right? Over like, Eight Legged Freaks, or more serious pics like Tarantula. And definitely not Kingdom of the Spiders lol.
unlabelledView post →Happy Birthday to the amazing David Arquette, Emmy-nominated actor, producer, and former professional wrestler, who was #BOTD on 9/8/1971. Famous for roles in BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER (1992 film), the SCREAM franchise, AIRHEADS, RAVENOUS, EIGHT LEGGED FREAKS, CELEBRITY NAME GAME, and much more.
unlabelledView post →I have something to get off my chest. After the delightful Arachnophobia I was very much looking forward to Eight Legged Freaks. It was no good, and they have refused to make another giant spider movie since and I feel let down. Thanks for letting me speak my truth.
unlabelledView post →Eight Legged Freaks (2002) I was wary of the horror here but it turned out to be a pretty good campy movie. Low-key wish the creative minds that gave such identifiable personalities to the town of extras in this movie could've given Source Code that extra charm that it needed.
unlabelledView post →The movie itself is goofier but the spiders in Eight-Legged Freaks are in the sweet spot for most scary, size-wise
unlabelledView post →"A gang of youths riding ATVs... one of whom pooped a wheelie" And an extreme airborne wheelie while kicking the a large spider like a bada** in the 2002 movie, Eight Legged Freaks, I might add (I saw this movie, and it was both scary, action-packed, and epic). 🔥
unlabelledView post →The movie Arachnophobia? Terrifying. Eight Legged Freaks? Hilarious.
unlabelledView post →They also changed the title of the movie Arac Attack to Eight Legged Freaks because it sounded too much like Iraq attack
unlabelledView post →sloshed ollie movie reviews volume 2: Eight Legged Freaks holy moly what a fun movie that doesnt take itself too seriously. reccomended by my gf, pretty spooky at times, consistently got laughs from me, weirdly good score?? would reccomend for a goofy movie night~
unlabelledView post →A better-than-expected USA Network cable movie from the director of EIGHT LEGGED FREAKS. It has killer bugs, Thomas Calabro and a cold setting as opposed to a hot one. 😱 #TVSky #HorrorSky #FilmSky
unlabelledView post →Watching EIGHT-LEGGED FREAKS (2002). The transfer on the SHOUT! Factory blu-ray is quite stunning...the film looks great! Really well shot. The CGI spider effects do not hold up very well, but it sort of works given the camp aesthetic of the film, which is a throwback to 50s creature features.
unlabelledView post →Pretty slick giant spider flick with good, goopey effects Simply for nostalgia, I still prefer Eight Legged Freaks (this film is nowhere near as campy) but if you’re not arachnophobic and seeking a solid creature feature, it’s not a bad flick
unlabelledView post →As much as I enjoyed Arachnophobia, I have to give the best spider movie award to Eight-Legged Freaks. It had just the right balance of scares and laughs like Tremors or Slither.
unlabelledView post →Huge arachnophobe here (and Spidey is my all time favourite hero, it explains my life), and yeah Arachnaphobia is a great film and I hate seeing the bloody things on screen. Eight Legged Freaks is also fun.

unlabelledView post →YOOOO EIGHT LEGGED FREAKS, that movie fucked me UP as an arachnophobic young teen
unlabelledView post →Idk, in the movie Eight Legged Freaks a bigger than normal spider kills a cat 😟 (Random fact: after experiencing a cat dying as a kid, that movie made me cry when my mom was trying to show it to cheer me up cuz it's silly😭)
unlabelledView post →One I learned from @filmcrithulk.bsky.social is "plotblocking," which is when the script mistakes interrupting a statement for developing an arc. A good example is in a movie I like, "Eight Legged Freaks," where David Arquette keeps saying "There's something I've been meaning to tell you"...

unlabelledView post →Look, “Eight-Legged Freaks” remains a tremendously fun film that I enjoy a lot. If you haven’t seen it, give it a shot. If you haven’t seen it and you live nearby, maybe we can do a Spider Movie Party. I think it all holds up really well. Check it out! What other spider movies would we include?
unlabelledView post →Boy, you should see the movie about that: Eight Legged Freaks.
unlabelledView post →E, for a fun horror/comedy romp about big ass spiders. My ★★★½ review of Eight Legged Freaks on Letterboxd boxd.it/24LLfX
unlabelledView post →Finally watched Sting. Good film, fun with a couple of nasty gory bits. As usual for a mainstream film, tho, a bit light on the webbing. A couple of cocoons, but that's it. When oh when will the next Gremlins 2/Eight Legged Freaks come? 😁
unlabelledView post →n(e)w: “Infested” (2024) I’ll catch the DNC highlights tomorrow, I heard there was a new horror flick about spiders, and as a card carrying member of the “Eight Legged Freaks” Fan Club, I have a duty. 🫡 [Shudder]
unlabelledView post →The funny thing is: the boy says "arac attack" in the movie and then the protagonist says EIGHT LEGGED FREAKS. Maybe they thought they would use one or another.
unlabelledView post →For Bloody Disgusting, I revisited a fun if not familiar bug-horror movie from 2000: THEY NEST (a.k.a. CREEPY CRAWLERS). It's directed by Ellory Elkayem, who went on to helm EIGHT LEGGED FREAKS. @bloodydisgusting.bsky.social
unlabelledView post →Eight Legged Freaks. I actually need to watch that film as an adult. I watched Hostel years ago and it wasn't scary like I remembered it was back in 2005. Gross, sure, but not horrifying.
unlabelledView post →A real gem of a movie particularly for playing it real even with John Goodman all but actually winking to the camera. I liked Eight Legged Freaks for being more like a Saturday morning cartoon as well.
unlabelledView post →Every 10/15yrs or so we get a major studio Spider attack film. Arachnophobia in 1990, then Eight Legged Freaks* (my then 4yr old daughters favourite film) in 2003 , we are overdue. Saw the "the producers of John Wick" was expecting an action film. *Originally Arach Attack - renamed due to Iraq War
unlabelledView post →(1/3) - Do you know what America needs? We need a new killer spider movie. The last one we had was Eight-Legged Freaks at the beginning of the century. When are we gonna have a New awful spider movie?
unlabelledView post →Eight Legged Freaks (2002) Just had the pleasure of watching this homage to Them! and other 50s B-movies. It's a comedy monster horror movie. It sort of delivers, the spiders were giant and scary, it doesn't take itself seriously and the actor's performances are ok, but not great. 1/🧵
