The Marksman
Jim Hanson’s quiet life is suddenly disturbed by two people crossing the US/Mexico border – a woman and her young son – desperate to flee a Mexican cartel. After a shootout leaves the mother dead, Jim becomes the boy’s reluctant defender. He embraces his role as Miguel’s protector and will stop at nothing to get him to safety, as they go on the run from the relentless assassins. From TMDB

unlabelledView post →Watched a Liam Neeson movie - trending on Netflix - called the Marksman and it is a fascinating exercise in watching a movie studio try to walk a line on a border narrative. The hero is kind and humane (he gives water to migrants- +1 libs ) but also always calls border patrol (+1 MAGA)

unlabelledView post →“The Marksman” (2021) is a typical Liam Neesan movie in which he plays an ex-Marine who tries to keep a young Mexican boy out of the hands of the cartel. You can imagine how the rest goes. 🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️⭐️

unlabelledView post →The movie called 'The Marksman' was absolute nonsense. It was only watchable to because the two main leads, Jacob Perez and Liam Neeson are such skilled actors. They turned dreck into quality, like a five star chef mixing up tv dinners into one amazing platter.
unlabelledView post →The Liam Neeson movie 'The Marksman' had a cool bit you rarely see in other movies. The idea of disabling the enemy's weapon. Not using it yourself. Just making sure the enemy cannot.

The tone of this movie is all over the place & character choices little sense. Also, Neeson's character is a snitch to USBP for free. A lot of plot holes in this, too. - Didn't Like -

unlabelledView post →I know that in the movie 'The Marksman', Liam Neeson's character is supposed to be out of touch and just a little bit crazy, but that man needed to do operational security from the moment the first bullet flew. And he did not.
unlabelledView post →From the outside the Liam Neeson movie 'The Marksman' ... well, it made me fear it was racist nonsense. But it wasn't. Liam's character was a little naive and absolute not racist. And he hated killing. Even in self defense. Also a nice subplot of ACAB. Good movie. Extremely scary.
unlabelledView post →The Marksman (2005) This feels like a made-for-TV movie that just happens to star Wesley Snipes. The acting and cinematography are mediocre at best, and the storyline is predictable and cliché. 3/10, @letterboxd.social review below. #action #war #wesleysnipes boxd.it/8WtVCv
unlabelledView post →Liam Neeson has the magic touch that gives a boost to almost any movie he’s cast in, be it a love story or an action thriller. He makes the most mundane films palatable, so it shouldn’t be a shocker that Neeson is the best thing about “The Marksman,” a formulaic (but still entertaining) movie from director Robert Lorenz. Neeson plays Jim Hanson, an ex-Marine turned Arizona rancher who’s lost his wife to cancer and is about to lose his home to foreclosure. The man lives a life of solitude on an…

unlabelledView post →Liam Neeson is back in “The Marksman” and despite some flaws; the film provides what his fans want and is an engaging and topical film. Neeson plays Jim; a widower who spends his time on a tiny and struggling ranch in Arizona near the border. Jim is facing foreclosure from the bank after dealing with devastating medical bills for his late wife and feels that as a former Marine he has been given a bad deal by the system. Jim often drives along the border fence and radios in suspected crossings…
