36 of 36 · most liked firstKeaton marathon update - "Birdman" was quite good, "Jack Frost" was better than expected for a sappy family holiday film, "Speechless" was meh (cheesy by-the-book romcom), and oh geez I hated "American Assassin". "Much Ado About Nothing" needed way more Dogberry. Not a whole lot left now...
unlabelledView post →Watching some stupid action film (American Assassin) and it’s really off-putting that what’s meant to be a bazaar in Istanbul is very clearly St George’s Walk in Croydon.

unlabelledView post →So I was looking up a movie called American Assassin on Netflix. No joke this came up in results before I could type the whole name. Hahaha
unlabelledView post →American Assassin (2017) - Michael Keaton and Dylan O'Brien are bickery CIA boyfriends who spend the entire movie saving each other and complaining about being saved. Decent film let down by dumb CGI at the climax.
unlabelledView post →I'm watching this movie AMERICAN ASSASSIN and it's basically exactly what I expected: white dude's revenge on the big bad Middle Eastern terrorists. We really need more spy movies.
unlabelledView post →Surprisingly fun! I think "Double-Butt in America" would been a better title, tho. Disengage brain and enjoy. Three Kilmers / Five Batmans #Fwee #Movie #AmericanAssassin

unlabelledView post →Tonight's distraction movie is American Assassin (2017) starring Dylan O'Brien, Michael Keaton and Taylor Kitsch. It has been a bit since I watched this one but was in the mood for an action thriller and I like Dylan O'Brien.
unlabelledView post →AMERICAN ASSASSIN (2017) ★★ The film gets off to a bloody, shocking start, but as #DylanOBrien goes into training with tough-as-nails veteran #MichaelKeaton things get increasingly conventional. OK action, but O’Brien and #TaylorKitsch lack charisma as adversaries.
unlabelledView post →Watching a movie I like, not sure about everyone else. 'American Assassin' (2017) Michael Keaton in it too. He couldn't save Robocop (2014) But at least he's badass in this
unlabelledView post →We decoded to watch this American Assassin movie with Dylan O'Brien and Michael Keaton, but also David Suchet just showed up! We don't watch a LOT of military movies (esp. when the bad guys are Arabs) because I don't like them, but sometimes they look potentially interesting
unlabelledView post →I have just finished watching "American Assassin movie in Netflix. In a nutshell: avoid it. It is bad for your health. Keaton brings some style but the rest is awful. Dylan O'Brien's performance was like a brick wall at a mime convention—completely unresponsive and painfully out of place
unlabelledView post →You need to! He's a great actor! I own The Outfit, American Assassin, and Love and Monsters, and love all of those. There's another I liked that was on Prime, I think it's called Flashback? He plays a total douche on that movie where the girl fakes being in Paris during a bombing.

Me (checks IMDb) My Dad (walks in, gives a robust summary of American Assassin, referencing the Flynn books)

unlabelledView post →He did do that one film with Michael Keaton, AMERICAN ASSASSIN, but that was a shit as fuck movie that I Did Not Finish Watching, it sucked ass and having someone of Dylan's acting calibre on it was such a fucking waste of talent.

unlabelledView post →The movie of #VinceFlynn 's AMERICAN ASSASSIN was also purposely more graphically violent. It's been done, you see?
unlabelledView post →Omg 😍 Dylan O'brien in this movie (American Assassin) is soooo hot haha 🤤 this is like peak thirst trap for me haha
unlabelledView post →We should, as a nation, also probably have a conversation about why Dylan O’Brien isn’t a bigger star. He showed his action movie chops in American Assassin and does an otherworldly Dan Aykroyd impression here. Give him more stuff to do!
unlabelledView post →Film 86, 2024. American Assassin (2017). Ganske underholdende action-thriller, i superagenter/Bourne-tradisjonen. Ikke veldig original. Michael Keaton gjør en god jobb. Bra lyd og bilde i 4K UHD.
unlabelledView post →First minutes announce bad direction. The script isn't too original; well, it can be still entertaining. But two things you'll notice right at the start: 1.The scenes between the protagonist and his fiancee are long, so viewers can connect emotionally. Does it work for you? And why not? 2.When killers appear and try to shoot you, how do you move? Look at the milling crowd. Does that look like they are fleeing? When your actors do not perform convincingly enough, it is your job as director to…

B) Don’t use an Arleigh-Burke. Especially the USS Nathan James from TNT’s The Last Ship.
unlabelledView post →This starts off with shades of the real Tunisian beach attacks from 2015, when "Rapp" (Dylan O'Brien) and his girlfriend find themselves caught up in a shooting that ends in tragedy. Determined on revenge, he attracts the attention of the CIA with whom he ends up working before being sent to the ultimate ninja training camp under the auspices of veteran "Hurley" (Michael Keaton). Working with local intelligence, they identify their target and after a few predictably failed attempts, they are…

unlabelledView post →This movie has been sitting on my unwatched shelf for quite a while and yesterday I finally got around to watch it. I actually found this movie to be not too bad actually. It is far from a cinematic masterpiece but it is a pretty solid action/revenge movie. Dylan O’Brien is, unfortunately, pretty meh as the main character. Michael Keaton on the other hand is quite good in his character. It is a reasonably action filled movie and I really like that they didn’t try to turn it into some PG-13…
unlabelledView post →Don't bother watching, plot line has been so many times before. Turn off your TV and do something more productive instead !
negative · AI labelView post →American Assassin might be the most nothing movie of the year. I was sold on the trailer, I though Michael Keating looked great (and to be fair, he kinda was), but watching the movie itself, I felt completely blank. I can't even recommend American Assassin as background noise. Final rating:★½: - Boring/disappointing. Avoid where possible.
